Turns out the VP of finance isn’t an old boring guy with white hair.
Two different cities.
A baby on the way.
An intense attraction.
And he’s technically my boss.

4* Trusting Stars
After an unexpected magical night spent with Richard on New Year’s Eve Natasha soon finds out that she is pregnant. Unfortunately, she has not heard back from her mystery man who she had an instant connection with, especially after he took down her telephone number. She reconciles herself that she will be a single parent and wonders how she will manage on her own. Low and behold when she enters a board meeting in her hometown the man chairing the meeting is none other than her sexy one-night stand and happens to be her Boss. The moment they lay eyes upon one another their chemistry is ignited once again. When Natasha tells Richard the news, he is very accepting and wants to do what is right by her and the baby. Together they struggle to navigate their way forward especially as he is residing in a different city 3 hours away from her and was badly hurt in his first marriage by betrayal.
The chemistry between the two of them was undeniably hot and the banter between them playful and fun. There was some angst too especially with Richard as he had to learn to let go of the past and move forward, which meant he had to trust his feelings, open up his heart to love Natasha and not his job which has taken over his life.
This was a wonderful good feel read and will put a smile on your face in these trying times we are all experiencing.
Alot of back and forth but in the end a good book.
Loved this book, the characters and the story. Read this book you won’t be sorry!
That Night
Written by K. I. Lynn
A wild New Year’s Eve one-night stand between Natasha and Richard ends up with a Valentine that was not expected.
They start their relationship off with baby first, then dating. However, there are problems in this new relationship. Richard has walls around his heart and feelings after his divorce and all of its complications. There is also a distance and work complication. It turns out Richard is the V.P. of Finance and the same company where Natasha works. He works in the Chicago office and she works in the Indianapolis office.
They want to give it a go to see if their attraction to each other will allow their relationship to grow, for the sake of the child of course and just when you think headway has been made, Richards runs into his Ex and bam those walls come back higher and stronger and what was once good begins to go downhill, affecting Natasha’s emotional health and well being.
It all comes down to trust and growth. Can Richard let go of the negativity from his past relationship and give Natasha and the baby the man they deserve and if he can do that, will Natasha give him another chance?
All and all I found this book easy to read, yes there was angst most especially for Natasha, how the stress affected her and the baby, so I can honestly say it was a
good, relax and recuperate from Christmas shopping read.
SPONTANEOUS COMBUSTION.
I really enjoyed this book~ much more than I thought that I would. I loved the characters- I loved how accepting Richard was of the pregnancy, and I loved Natasha’s sassy mouth. They truly were perfect for each other!
I will definitely reread That Night!
DNF.
Natasha has a one night stand on New Year’s Eve and ends up pregnant. Flash forward a few months when she meets her baby daddy again in a business meeting. The opening scene is Natasha’s coworker outing her pregnancy to a room full of co-workers including the baby daddy. Props to Richard who continues with the business meeting like nothings wrong even though he’s just been confronted with the idea of fatherhood. And then afterwards he’s like, “hey, let’s go have dinner. Oh, and is it mine?” The whole thing seemed kind of ridiculous.
3.5 stars
This book started off strong, and Natasha and Richard had a great connection and lots of great interactions. A little too much wishy-washy-ness in the last half on Richard’s side and his sudden change of character was a bit odd/not shown as well.
This is my first K.I. Lynn book and I loved every minute of it and finished it in one sitting.
I love surprise baby books and this one was sexy hot! You will get totally invested in this couple. Their chemistry is like a rushing waterfall that meets a tidal wave and it was spectacular! This story will give you all the feels and is a definite one click. I can’t wait to read more by this author.
Tracey, Life Reads With Friends
If you are interested in an emotional read, this one is it. Natasha and Richard meet at a New Year’s Eve party; things go well and they are connecting, so one thing leads to another. Fast forward to the middle of February and not only does Natasha find out that there are some lasting effects from their one night stand, but she also finds out that the one night stand is also her boss’s boss’s boss – A.K.A. someone she should’ve never hooked up with to begin with. What follows is the hard struggle of finding out if Richard is willing to be in her life and – more importantly – their baby’s life.
This is the age old story of can you really change the man/woman you are with? Natasha wants so badly to be a part of Richard’s life and be one of his priorities but he has trust issues – and for a good reason – that keep him from letting down those walls around his heart. This book is a tear-jerking journey that will have your emotions up then down two pages later. It was a bit of a shorter book – less than 250 pages – so you could read it in an afternoon, possibly a weekend. Parts of the story did feel a tad rushed or under developed, but overall it was a good read. You will enjoy time spent with Natasha and Richard.
*3.5 stars – I received an Advance Reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Richard and Natasha meet on New Years and have a one night stand that blew them away and Richard got her number but he never called. Six weeks later and pregnant she walks into a meeting and her bosses boss is Richard. They start there romance up and everything is going great until it’s not. Can Richard put Natasha first instead of work? Great characters and storyline. Highly recommended. This is my first book by this author definitely not my last great book.
I have always enjoyed everything I have read by K.I. Lynn, but it has been a while since I have read anything new by her. One of my favorite tropes is an accidental pregnancy, so I had really high expectations for ‘That Night’. I am sad to say, I did not love ‘That Night’, I can only say it was just Idk a little bit okay. I didn’t feel the depth of this story, and I needed that. I think if this author would have did away with most of the sexy scenes ( there was A LOT), I could have had a more in-depth- story that I would have enjoyed. I am all for the sexy times, but there is a thing as too much. I feel like in dang near every chapter it was there, and most of the time it was more than one or two pages. It completely took over the story. They did have chemistry, explosive chemistry but I could not investigate that further because of all the sexy times.
When it came to the characters especially the Hero, I quickly learned he was on my **** list. At first, I loved him, and then things just went south. I felt like he was selfish and inconsiderate. In the end, he held no redeeming qualities for me. Overall I did like the heroine. At times, she got on my nerves because she was supposed to be the one that takes no bull crap, and she let the bull crap keeping happening which went against her character.
The story-line was there, I just needed more. I am sure other people will like this one better than me, and that’s okay, to each to their own. Hopefully K.I. Lynn’s next release fits me better.
4 Stars!
I’ve been wanting to pick up more of Ms.Lynn’s work and when I read the synopsis for That Night I knew It was the next one that I needed to read! This story grabbed my attention very quickly and I had to read it all at once. I really enjoyed this story!
Natasha and Richard’s journey was one that brought out my emotions throughout! From their memorable beginning, the heat between them, to diving deeper with these characters, I fell for them more and more with every chapter! I loved that I felt so much with these characters.
With That Night, Ms.Lynn created an awesome read filled with feels and blushworthy moments! I can’t wait to read what she comes up with next! (:
*I volunteered to read and review a copy of this book from Foreword PR & Marketing / the author*
This is a fun office romance story even though Natasha and Richard didn’t meet each other at work. They actually met at a New Year’s Eve party in Chicago. It was instant attraction between them and the chemistry was off the charts. An accident and incorrect phone number caused them to not be with each other. Six weeks later, Natasha finds out she’s pregnant and Jenna, her best friend and co-worker, accidentally announces the pregnancy as they were walking into a meeting with senior management. Come to find out Richard is the VP of finance for the company that both Natasha and Jenna works for. Both were shock to see each other and for Richard to find out about Natasha’s pregnancy! Once these 2 saw each other again, they realize the chemistry that they had during New Year’s Eve is still there and is still off the charts. They get to know each other and even though they look towards a future with each other and their unborn child, Richard has issues that he has to work through and have to decide what his priorities in life are. Natasha realizes that until Richard can make her part of his priorities, she will never had him wholly in her life and their baby’s life.
This is such a fun story to read and just makes you think that that type of love is out there for everyone, we just have to find it!
I really enjoyed this book. It was about two people that met on New Year’s Eve and had the time of their life. They both wanted to see each other again but things didn’t work out at first. Then one day Natasha was at work getting ready to go to a very important meeting for her company. She was a finance manager and bam there was Richard standing at the head of the table VP of finance for her company and the man she lost after New Year’s Eve. This book goes on to show the ups and downs that a long term relationship can go through. It is a steamy, tear jerker, edge of your seat kind of romance. It has a happily ever after ending with no cliffhangers.
I loved it because the plot and the characters pull you in and you just can’t stop reading because you want to know what happens next. I recommend this book it It is one of those books that you will want to stay up all night to read.

I love when a book gets to the point and then the story builds. That’s exactly what I got with this book. From the beginning the plot unfolds with Natasha finding out she’s pregnant after having a one night stand with Richard. This is where the plot thickens because she runs into Richard in the most unromantic manner possible, in a work meeting he’s her boss.
It’s a fun story filled with endless laughter, fun characters , light hearted emotions and lots of passion. This is the kind of book that you breeze through but the storyline keeps you intrigued and the ending gives you singing to think about. I liked that even though the story was short, the characters showed growth as things progressed.
***3.5-4 Stars*** That Night started off kinda silly to me. The first few chapters were good, then it gets silly. I kept reading and eventually started enjoying it. I’m cool with insta love and I love surprise pregnancy, but something about the beginning of the story didn’t feel right for me. As time goes by things got better. I loved Natasha and how she stuck to her guns. When she had had enough of Richard’s crap, she let him know. Richard was harder for me to like, although I eventually came around. If you’re in the mood for a low angst insta love story with a surprise pregnancy, then this is the book for you.
You can never go wrong with a K.I. Lynn book!
I love storylines like this and after reading the blurb I couldn’t wait to start it.
Natasha meets Richard on New Years Eve. Their connection is instant, the chemistry and banter between them is there from the start and it’s not long before things get hot and heavy between them. But all good things come to an end and Natasha and Richard part ways after one night, having no way of knowing their lives are going to change forever.
I loved both Natasha and Richard. I fell just as hard for Richard as Natasha did at the start, there’s something about him especially when they first meet that I really liked. Natasha life has just been turned upside when she comes face to face with Richard and she’s not sure what to expect from him. Richard is a workaholic. There’s no other way to say it. The guy is married to his job, it’s pretty much all he does but now with a baby on the way and his one night stand / baby’s mother in another city, he’s got a lot of stuff to figure out.
I absolutely loved the first half of this book. I loved the characters, their relationship, the way the story was going. And then Richard starts been Richard. Natasha is a patient woman but she’s not that patient and once that patience runs out, they both have some tough decisions to make.
This is an enjoyable read. I really enjoyed the story (even when Richard was been a Richard 😉 ) and I’m not so secretly hoping that Keenan gets a book in the future.
5 CRANKY STARS
Wow, I was blown away by this book. I don’t usually like romance stories. When this started, I had the sense of déjà vu common with them all. I even almost stopped reading because it was so like others I’ve read recently. But then it took a turn and I no longer wondered if it was original. The characters were believable and even loveable. In today’s busy world, this story is probably true in so many instances. Our heroine is a hard working twenty-seven-year-old. She has worked really hard to get to her position. However, she is overwhelmed when the boss she is covering goes out on maternity leave early. Then another individual leaves the company. So, not only is she learning a new job but also covering two others. Not much time for rest and relaxation. Then along comes the company Christmas party in Chicago. Off she goes to relax and have some fun. As is typical, along comes the perfect man. They meet when he spills her drink on her dress. It was a great party and looked even more promising until her best friend breaks her ankle. Back to the hotel they go. For six weeks she hears nothing from this guy and is devastated. You can probably guess why. Then she walks into a meeting with the corporate bosses and WHAT! The rest is an up and down of emotions where we get to learn all of their deep dark secrets. Great beach read or in my case, quarantine read.
