A virgin who’s bailed on five one-night stands. Her new neighbor? One-Night Stand #5. Her new coworker? Yup, him. Read this hilarious rom-com now!I’m a twenty-two year-old virgin who’s had five one-night stands. How’s that possible? Easy. I’ve never gone all the way. I just chicken out and bail. Thank God, I’ve always selected men I’ll never run across again……until that sexy-as-sin Matt from … that sexy-as-sin Matt from last weekend moves in next door…
…then shows up as a new in-house counsel at Sweet Darlings Inc. where I work.
Oh…crap.
But it was dark in the hotel room. If I put on a boring office outfit and Clark Kent glasses, he won’t recognize me…
Right?
”Brilliant, sexy, hilarious, and crazy fun!” – Amazon Reviewer
“This was my first Nadia Lee book and I absolutely loved it! I was giggling pretty much from the start of the book, I mean how can you not when a young twenty-something virgin has had 5 one night stands?” – My Book Filled Life

Chuckles, tears and tension describe the emotions throughout “That Man Next Door” (nook). What an enjoyable story. Jan had several self-doubts with which I think many people can sympathize. In spite of her “flaws,” she accepted them and attempted to improve. Plus, the story had a sigh-worthy HEA.
The book was funny and witty! The characters are very unpredictable.
A quick, romantic read. Love Matt to pieces. Really an enjoyable story.
You can never go wrong with a Nadia Lee book. Her characters are great. Matt, who wouldn’t want him? And Jan, 5 one nights and baileyed each one? Loved the book. And love this Sweet Darling series.
cute
Hot! Holy moly this book is hot and steamy!! Greatly enjoyed the story and this take on virginity and the attempt to lose ones v-card! Refreshing honestly! Very enertaining, with wonderful characters that you find yourself rooting for and hoping they will get their lives figured out before it’s too late!
I found this freebie on Amazon and I believe this was my first one by Nadia Lee. And it’s definitely not going to be my last. Her writing is great, the ebook structured is smooth and comfortable to read and the humor is amazing. I loved this rom-com.
At first, Jan annoyed me a bit because of her insecurities and indecisions. I’m indecisive enough for myself… being in the Jan’s head gave me whiplash. However, she turned out to be pretty great towards the end, gaining her confidence and the certainty that she deserved everything in her life and that she was always loved by everyone.
Matt was the perfect guy. In every way. I enjoyed his honesty in the end and loved the last chapter on his POV.
This was a funny, flirty, cute and great romantic comedy. It was a light read and I enjoyed reading it.
I’m anxious to read the other ones on the series, about Sammi and Michelle.
Entertaining, funny, and hard to put down.
Book was a good read. Just 1 downfall…I didn’t like that the female main character had such a low opinion of herself. It was kind of a downer, but in the end there was a reason for it. I just wish it was sooner not the very end.
Wonderful, fun story! Didn’t want it to end.
a good read
Cute and fun read with a bit of unpredictable
Delightful laugh out loud at times. Wonderful character interactions. Original story plot. Didn’t want it to end!!!!!!!!
This was a fun read. Great book. I recommend it.
Jan’s trying desperately to lose her V-card, yet she never completes the act. She leaves attempt #5 back in NYC only to run into him, as a new hire at work. She also has family issues that have shaken her confidence and left her questioning her worth. A sexy and fun read. I am looking forward to reading more in this series.
Wasn’t very sure I would continue past the first chapter as the introduction of Jan and her roommates was full tilt chick lit. So happy I continued and the characters became more likeable. This was a fun and heartwarming read. I couldn’t put it down after the 40% mark!
Book one of the Sweet Darlings series. Laugh out loud funny and a joy to read. There are two extended epilogues for this book.
3.5, but not quite 4-stars. So this isn’t one of those books that I immediately fell in love with. I did fall in like with it, though. It’s got humor and heart and hilarity all wrapped up in one very insecure woman named Jan Doe. Yep. Jan Doe. Her dad’s name is John Doe. At least that’s what her birth certificate says. Jan is pretty sure that means her mom didn’t want to name who Jan’s father was. Jan certainly never knew her father. When Jan’s mother died when she was just ten years old, she went to live with her grandmother, Alexandra Darling. Yes, Alexandra Darling of Sweet Darlings, the multi-billion dollar company that caters to young parents. Also the grandmother she never knew about or met until she was ten years old. Yep, Jan Doe is the redheaded stepchild that no one really wants. Or, at least that’s what Jan thinks.
Know what else Jan is insecure about? She has had several one-night stands with the express purpose of losing her virginity. Five to be exact. Five? Yep, and guess what? She is still a virgin! Her insecurities get in the way and she always Baileys. Then the obnoxious older man next door moves out suddenly and a real hottie moves in and Jan’s roomies begin to hatch a plan. Imagine Jan’s surprise when One Night Stand #5 turns up as the new hire at Sweet Darlings, Inc AND is the hottie next door. What could possibly go wrong?
This is a fast-paced story filled with awkward moments that are hilarious. Did I laugh out loud? Not entirely, but I was definitely chuckling. This is one of those books you pick up when you’re looking for a light, fun, and entertaining read.
I loved this tender, sweet love story
Jan is a complex character, a woman broken by her misguided sense of self, and afraid to take a chance on any kind of relationship, much less a lasting love. Matt is both her next-door neighbor and new co-worker, a man with the patience and insight necessary to help Jan figure out how to establish herself within her family and the family’s company.
I loved the interaction between these two. From the start, Matt was more than she was prepared for, and everything she needed. Her journey toward accepting the truth about her family was cathartic, and I nearly cried when her inevitable conversation with her grandmother finally gave her the closure she needed.
I loved the relationship she has with her two best friends (and roommates). These are the kinds of friends that make a person stronger just by knowing they’re in your corner. I’m looking forward to reading their books in this series.
Really enjoyed this book. Good read and lots of fun.
