That Forever Girl…. so much emotion.
Friend to lovers… second chance romance… enemies to lovers…small town romance… real life hard issues… all together in this fabulous book! Meghan Quinn does an amazing job with Rogan and Harper.
It flows so well from past to present! This story gave all the feels as it was heartbreaking and beautiful as Rogan and Harper were torn apart yet come back together when something tragic happens and how people react and how if affects them.
Their support system and families are incredible. The texting of the Knightly brothers make you laugh and Jen’s responses bring in the fun, the past of Harper and Rogan is amazing, watching this book develop is why I love Meghan Quinn’s writing so much. It is complex yet real!
A sweet second chance romance and another great addition to this series. Second chances aren’t usually my favourite but this one was done really well and I love all of the side characters, they really make the story. Can’t wait for more of this series!
*5 Stars*
ARC kindly received in exchange for an honest review.
Gah! I loveeeee this series! The Knightly Brothers and the town of Port Snow have stolen my heart, well and truly stolen it. I was intrigued about Rogan, and I wanted to get to know his story.
This sure is the story of the one who got away, or, more accurately, the one he pushed away. For the first half, at least, of this book, I really was not a huge fan of Rogan. The flashback chapter version of him, yes, but the present day, version? No way.
I liked Harper right from the start, and I was glad when Rogan finally pulled his head from his hiney and got with the program. I love how there is so much history and backstory involved. It makes the present day events and ownerships so much more meaningful.
I picked up on a few things, and was right in my assumptions by the end, including who the mystery MFG was.
I loved living this story with these characters, watching them learn who they are now, and how much potential there is to come. I thought there wasn’t going to be a proper resolution for their past, but that was done nicely as well. I think there is also set up for at least one of the remaining, brothers, possibly both, and I’m really keen to get their stories as well.
As always in my experience with a Meghan Quinn book, this was a really easy and addicting read. Definitely recommend, and bring on the rest!
I knew reading the first book in this series, that Rogan’s tale was going to hurt, and it did. He’s a young man, making a name for himself towards a football career when one night things change dramatically. His world is turned upside down and unfortunately he pushes away the one person he needs the most.
Seven years down the track, he is still trying to prove to himself that he can have a full filling life after football when Harper comes home for good. She herself is not only dealing with having to see her ex fiancé around town, but needing to find solace in her familiar surroundings and recover from a nasty relationship of two years. It’s not until Rogan runs into Harper a few times around town that he feels more hope than he’d ever thought possible.
Rogan is the gruff brooding male that is broken and suffering a few wounds. I loved him! You could feel deep down his anguish and having the flashbacks gave you another aspect of his personality. Once he realised what he had been working towards all along over the last seven years, he didn’t take his time to steer his energy into winning back Harper as his Forever Girl. Harper wasn’t as quick to forget how much heartache they both endured back in college and she gave him a run for his money. She had a lot of personal growth in this book, more so than Rogan, and she needed reassurance that it wouldn’t happen again. I loved her vulnerability and sensitivity she displayed. I think if she didn’t have the emotions as she did, their circumstance would have hardened her to someone totally different.
I also want to add how much the Knightly family dynamics play into these books. The brothers banter is a treasure and their sister Jen whips them up too. There are still the two younger brothers books to come and these boys need some maturity before they can find their HEA’s but I’m so keen to read their stories.
It’s official, I’m in love with this author’s writing! That Forever Girl was so good. Chemistry, check. Roller coaster of emotions, check. Getting completely sucked in by the story, check. This was one of those stories that I couldn’t wait to find out what happens, but didn’t want it to end. It’s been a couple of days since I’ve finished and I’m still thinking about these characters! This is a must read!!
Welcome back to Port Snow, ME and back into the lives of the Knightly family. I have been waiting for Rogan’s story since the end of That Second Chance and this did not disappoint. This story was beautifully written, full of laughs, emotions and a most of all a beautiful second chance.
This story was seriously fantastic from the very first word. I loved that it went between dual POV, but also form past to present. I loved that we got to see the start of Harper and Rogan’s relationship to their demise to where we are now and the future throughout this entire story. It was beautiful, emotional, and full of love. Their chemistry and their love for one another is perfection and despite how things ended it was always still there beneath the surface.
I wasn’t expecting Harper and Rogan’s story to be so emotional or to affect me so much, but the deeper we got and the more we learned of the past it was slowly breaking my heart. I felt my heart shatter along with Harper’s.
I didn’t think it was possible to love this family anymore, but I do. The Knightly family is hilarious and the interactions between all the siblings is hilarious and you can feel the love between them all. If I could become a member of this family I would.
I love this town, this family and everything about this series. I can’t wait for more of these brothers and their crazy curse! That Forever Girl is a MUST READ!
OH my stars, the feels in this story. My heart broke not only for Harper but Rogen as well. I could only imagine what both of them went through to get where they are. But to find each other again, regardless of the family and their meddling, was breathtaking to see play out. Meghan Quinn gives us a raw and emotional second chance romance with this story. The history between these two is deep rooted and you can see that as the whole story progresses how much these two were really entwined with each other.
Passion is sizzling and emotions high as these two are thrust together not only being in the small town together but with work as well. The realizations and the moments are breathless and beautiful. Their love never really faded but hit a wall during that fateful time. I love the little twists and turns. Especially the whole part of the house. It left a little level of intrigue as well!
Overall, I really enjoyed this story from Quinn. It hits all the notes I need for a beautiful tale and I am really looking forward to what the rest of the family will bring to the table!
Meghan is seriously one o my go-to, must-recommend authors and with That Forever Girl she has given us another fantastic story that will draw you in and hold you hostage from beginning to end.
Rogan and Harper have been best friends since they were kids and as they got older it progressed to something much more. They were inseparable and soulmates until something happens that rips them apart and separates them for 7 years.
When Harper moves back to town they are both faced with the past and the wounds are opened up again. Rogan is a different man, he has fought his demons and wants to start living again with Harper by his side. Obviously with the pain they have both faced slapping them in the face they need to get past their anger and start healing with each other.
I honestly love these Knightly boys, the banter between them is hilarious. They certainly keep each other on their toes.
Nothing is going to stop Rogan from winning back his Forever Girl
What a fabulous read! She has done it again with this book and I’m so excited for the rest of the series. I highly recommend it.
This is the second book in the Getting Lucky series by this author and after reading the first book, That Second Chance, I had no doubt that I was going to adore Rogan and Harpers love story just as much. Small town romances are some of my favorites and you can’t get any better than Port Snow, Maine — charming, heartwarming, sweet and sexy. And I love these Knightly brothers! Obviously, I can’t wait for Reid and Brig’s stories, not to mention more hilarious banter and texts among the 4 of them. I loved how the mystery surrounding Rogan’s leg and what brought Harper back to Port Snow — kept me reading into the night. Another winner in the very enjoyable Getting Lucky series. I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC for NetGalley.
This is why second chance romance will always be a favourite of mine. Loved these two so much!
Rogan and Harper have history and the author didn’t shy away from it. It made the story richer. I loved the banter, the humour, the emotions that played out between them. It was a really well written small town romance with enough painful moments to remind you that true love often isn’t easy. I am definitely going to check out other stories in the series too.
“If there’s one thing I know for sure about my life, it’s that you’ll be in it.”
That Forever Girl(Getting Lucky #2) is a hilarious, five star winner!! I absolutely adored Rogan and Harper’s second chance romance with its perfect blend of humor, love and genuine feel good moments.
Rogan and Harper were high school and college sweethearts until they weren’t. Harper has moved back to Port Snow, Rogan is not happy and acts like a huge jerk at times. He does have his moments, where he’s charming and irresistible but at the same time, he does stupid things like most men do. Harper reminds me of America’s sweetheart as she was so down to earth, sweet and lovable. Both of their characters were written so well along with their story which made for such an entertaining read.
And when it came to the side characters, words cannot describe how much I love the Knightly family. Ms. Quinn nailed it when it came to the comedic relief with this family, I mean the Knightly brothers and sister group text had me laughing out loud so many times. They are so relatable and I wish I could be a part of their wild and crazy antics. I definitely recommend reading That Forever Girl and I’m highly anticipating the next book in this series.
4.5 stars for this warm, funny, family and small town centred story. There is almost a fairy tale quality to it at times which, for me, just added an extra layer of magic to the tale as it unfolded. There is fabulous banter between the Knightly brothers, a second chance at love, a gorgeous house in need of TLC and two fabulous lead characters in Rogan and Harper. I really don’t think it is possible to ask for more and, as the dual POV story reveals past and present, trauma and the rebirth of potential, I found myself delightfully swept up in the lives of this sweet town and our protagonists. Lovely read xxxx
I’m a sucker for second chance romances and add in the small town and I’m hooked. And who better to give me all the feels with a little humor and a mix of sexiness than Meghan Quinn. She writes great love stories and gives us those sexy Knightly men.
Rogan and Harper’s story pulls on the heart strings while breaking your heart all at the same time. Meghan mixed the past with the future weaving a beautiful love story. Add in the mystery twist and she penned a perfect read with humor, mystery, sexiness and romance all wrapped up together.
I can’t wait for more of those brothers. There’s so much to uncover.
The fall back, the tears, and the heart ache. All left in the past, right? What happens when you get caught up and the past blends in with the future. Rogan and Harper had me crying and then smiling. They become my happy place! The Getting Lucky series have me set in the characters ways! Meghan is the queen of pulling on your heart strings. She knows how to get her readers to emotionally invest. That Forever Girl hits the spot and you will not want the story to end. You will get the full story with the past and present being told. You will fall for the story of Rogan and Harper!
Once again, Meghan delivers a juicy and exciting read! That Forever Girl is everything I needed in a romance. The angst from the turbulent relationship between Rogan and his former flame Harper, the slow burn between them, and some humor to tie it all together. Oh, and I don’t want to forget that Meghan added one of my favorite things in the whole world into the mix- a CHRISTMAS MOVIE being filmed in Port Snow! It didn’t get past me that LOVEMARK was incorporated (just like Hallmark). This made me absolutely GIDDY! I love Hallmark Christmas movies and this added to my excitement to not only the book, but to the upcoming movies this season! All in all, this book is a total winner based on all these points and more.
If you’re looking for a book that exudes love then you can’t go wrong with a Meghan Quinn book. She writes with so much heart that it makes readers feel deeply connected to the stories and characters! I highly recommend this one- it’s another 5 star winner!
Meghan Quinn
„If there’s one thing I know for sure about my life, it’s that you’ll be in it.”
Port Snow and Knightly brothers completely stole my heart. In That Forever Girl Meghan Quinn took me on an emotional journey paved with heartbreak, regrets, disappointment and longing. But she also showed me the magic of feelings and gave me hope, because Harper and Rogan’s story is the proof that great love deserves a second chance. And all that takes place in one of the most wonderful locations ever described- picturesque town on the Maine coast. I’m totally enchanted with this place and Rogan and Harper’s love story!
I like how Meghan Quinn turned friends-to-lovers story into second chance romance. The past interweaves with the present and thanks to that we can fully experience this incredible tale- from just a friendship, the first kiss, plans for the future, and an awful tragedy that drifted Harper and Rogan apart to the big comeback and efforts to get another chance. There were moments that melted my heart, but also those that made me sad. I loved Rogan, despite that he behaved like a jerk for the good part of this story. When all the pieces of puzzle came together, I just swooned! I loved Harper for finding content in common things- she wasn’t career driven nor money hungry. To feel fulfilled, she just needed a man she loved by her side and kids. Oh, and the power to forgive, because it’s obvious that she already found the man of her dreams 😉
That Forever Girl is a heartwarming and charming small town story. It captivates, makes you swoon and makes you laugh. The Knightly clan is a family you would love to be a part of and Port Snow residents will make you want to move there. I’m delighted with this book and Meghan’s writing skills, because when I was reading this story, I felt like a bystander of events.
Dear Mrs. Quinn- give me another Knighly brother, please! I want to stay in Port Snow forever!
This was such a great second chance story! Oh the angst between these two, the layers of love and hurt and snark built up through the years! You felt it in your heart for these two, just begging them to open their eyes and follow their hearts. Both far too stubborn for their own good. Finding and working toward forgiveness, getting over the fear of heartbreak, hurt, anger, and expectations. Rogan’s family, the whole small town, I loved the feel of it, I want to live there. Rogan and Harper’s story had everything I’ve come to know love and expect from Ms. Quinn, plenty of heart, plenty of heat and lots of laughs. Also I really loved the background story within the story, a sweet bonus. I eagerly await the rest of the Knightly’s stories.
Now it is up to Rogan to beat the gypsy’s curse!
He has been in an emotional slump since the accident with his leg. Giving up his dreams of the NFL affected more than his career. It also impacted his relationship with Harper. They had been together forever. They had plans for a bright future. After the accident, he no longer saw his future with Harper.
After hurting her with a cruel breakup, he dedicated his life to make something of himself. This is how his real estate business has flourished and he has become well off and rich in everything but a one true love. All his brothers and sister worry about him. His parents keep a close eye on him. But emotionally he is a changed man.
Now, big surprise! Harper has come back to town to stay with her father. Is she back indefinitely? How can he possibly face her after all these years?
True love never dies. It may hide inside while you deal with your emotions, but in the end, it will flourish if you just pay attention and mature.
I am voluntarily reviewing this book. Thanks to the author for sharing a copy with me.
Second Chance Romance at its best!!!
That Forever Girl has all the feels you want and expect in a great read and it’s a story that will certainly get your heart fluttering. It’s a small town romance, it’s about young love and it’s a second chance romance so what more could you want…..
Harper Saunders left Port Snow many moons ago, she left when Rogan Knightly pushed her away but now she is back but can both Harper and Rogan forgive the past and all the pain that went with it.
This booked touched me on so many levels, it was an emotional read that tugged on my heartstrings, it’s a beautifully written love story that at times had me shedding a tear, it’s about hope as well as passion and the chemistry Harper and Rogan share is sizzling and intense and let’s not forget the humour because that is something this author is known for and once again she got the perfect mix of laughter, love and passion. That Forever Girl ticked all my boxes and I can’t wait to see where we go next in this great series.
