USA Today bestselling author Meghan Quinn’s second book in the Getting Lucky series brings heart, humor, and heat back to Port Snow. There are two little words every small-town man dreads:She’s back.Harper Sanders, the girl who was supposed to be my forever, has returned to Port Snow, Maine, for good—and she’s bringing back memories of our shared past.We once had a bright future together, but when … past.

Rogan and Harper are childhood friends who become high school and college sweethearts. It appears that they’ll spend forever together until a tragic incident completely derails their relationship, and Rogan becomes a heartless ahole!
Fast forward to present day, and Rogan is living in Port Snow, buying up special properties and renovating them. When Harper returns home, Rogan is unable to contain himself and continues to be horrible to Harper lobbing insults and driving her away again. It’s a long road and includes pieces of backstory from early in their relationship that reveal his true motives for his real estate purchases, and his true feelings for Harper.
While I always appreciate the banter and laughs in Meghan’s books (and this one has plenty between the brothers!), Rogan was exceptionally harsh! It’s not the norm for one of Meghan’s heroes, but after reading his story you get it. Somewhat. Kinda.
Hoping that the remaining brothers are less jerkish.
This is book #2, in the Getting Lucky series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. For reader understanding, and to avoid spoilers, I recommend reading this series in order.
Rogan is close to his family. He is not happy when they torture him about a lost love who is back in town. He has a business to run, and there is no time to waste on the past. Then their paths cross…….
Harper has no problem remembering how good it was. Nor does she forget how painful it ended. Yet the burning begins when their eyes meet. She wants to fight it, but he is everywhere she is and deep down, she really just wants to hold on.
This started out kind of slow where I almost put the book down. Now, I do not want to mislead – it was not slow in action – but in the relative character connection. I held on since this author is a favorite, and I was not disappointed. Every page became a burst of feels and then I could not wait to get to the end to make sure they got their HEA. I will not spoil – but I feel you will love it if you love romance.
***This early copy was given in exchange for an honest review.
Wow – I thought book 1 in the Getting Lucky series took me on an emotional ride book 2 brings out the tears and the laughs. Meghan Quinn does it again with Rogan and Harper’s second chance love story.
Rogan and Harper have been best friends since the 6th grade – then in high school they feel in love. Then going off to college together changed everything. Now 7 years later after their heartbreaking break up Harper has returned home to Port Snow where Rogan has changed and not in the best way. He is still hot and successful but he is also angry and bitter especially when it comes to Harper. The problem is that he never got over her nor she over him but they havent come to terms with their past. Something they need to do if they think they can have any type of future.
I loved the way Ms Quinn weaves this story – not only is told in dual POVs but it goes back and forth between the future and the past which leads up to the point where Rogan and Harper live’s changed forever. The dialog is fantastic between the two main characters and with all the colorful secondary characters in Port Snow. We also get to spend more time with the Knightly brothers and their infamous curse. I also love that we get to spend more time with Reid and Brig – both books I can not wait for!
All in all That Forever Girl is a fantastic heartfelt second chance romance that is making the Getting Lucky series even better than before. I cant wait for the next installment.
I really liked this one. Omg, and the things Rogan and Harper went through in the past and to see how they rekindle their relationship a second time. I thought the past/present chapters worked well. “MFG properties” CLEVER! The narration was really good!
Another great book by Miss Quinn! it was so full of wow moments and I loved every single second of it! it was a page turner for sure!
I just fell more in love with the town of Port Snow in That Forever Girl……and I fell hard for Rogan Knightly! He’s such a grumpy, broody, damaged hero, but deep down inside he’s a wonderful and warm man. Don’t get me wrong – some of the things he said to Harper were pretty harsh and not nice at all; but after we find out the why and how he broke her heart (the breakup scene was brutal!), I could see where he was coming from, even though that does not excuse his behavior. But watching them rekindle their love and relationship was so sweet. You could tell that neither of them truly moved on, and that no matter who they were with or where they were in life, that the other would always have a piece of the other’s heart.
Of course we get to see all the Knightly brothers and the rest of the family – and the banter between them all is just too hilarious. The text messages are just the best!! And knowing we get Reid and Brig’s stories soon – I can’t wait to see what’s in store for them!
Amazing 5 stars read
I can’t even describe with words how much I loved That Forever Girl book. This story is a romance masterpiece with phenomenal plot which grabbed me by my heart and soul and still holds in its embrace. I was overwhelmed with emotions after reading this incredible story. I’ve never thought that I would love a second chance romance so much. I had amazing time reading this book and I didn’t want to get to the end of it. Definitely this is the must read romance of 2019.
Harper and Rogan were high school sweethearts whose friendship grew into unconditional love but one terrible day changed their life forever where one heart was shattered into million pieces by the other.
I always thought that once you have a badly broken heart you can never be healed. I thought that second chance love doesn’t have a chance to survive, that it’s almost impossible to forget and forgive someone who once hurt you so bad but this story is written in spectacular manner that makes me believe in some cases it can really happen.
Author presents their story by mixing past and present events of their life and it was amazing journey.
With That Forever Girl I’ve experienced whole range of emotions. I was swooning around their relationship and felt their high and lows with every beat of my heart. Their chemistry was breathtaking and out of the charts and I was impatiently waiting for their intimate scenes.
There were also many heartbreaking moments where I was crying like a goner.
Meghan Quinn gave me more than beautiful and romantic story with That Forever Girl book. She gave me also some mystery in the plot, changing scenery and very accurate descriptions of the places where we can easily imagine this small, cozy Port Snow town.
There is also some humor and fanny scenes in the story that won’t let you put this book down.
I need to mention about secondary characters, Rogan brothers, all four Knightly were handsome and in their twenties. Their brotherhood was beyond amazing and I don’t know how many times I was LMAO at the description on when they’ve met or when they were texting each other.
Meghan Quinn is new author to me and I can’t believe that I didn’t find her books earlier because it was everything my hopeless romantic soul needs.
I loved this book!!!! I now have to run and read That Second Chance cuz I’m all hyped up to learn Griffins story!!!!
What a fun, cute new series by Meghan Quinn!!!!
Harper and Rogan had it all …high school sweethearts , college dreams and then an accident pulls them apart!
Rogan didn’t want to push her away but at the time he couldn’t grasp what had happened and now seven years later can he convince her to forgive him and learn to heal and love one another again! He had to learn to love himself if is ever able to convince Harper they can love again!
I love a second chance romance and this one had all the sweet, sexy, heartbreak and learning to love again that makes smile, swoon and gives me that feel good all over feeling !!!

Port Snow and the Knightly brothers have completely stolen my heart. In That Forever Girl Meghan Quinn takes you on an emotional journey paved with heartbreak, regrets, disappointment and longing. But she also showed me the magic of feelings and gave me hope, because Harper and Rogan’s story is the proof that undeniable love deserves a second chance. Meghan Quinn’s writing style is an engaging blend of humor, heat and heart. She never fails to pull me in with her storytelling, and she did that in this story with her fantastic sense of humor, plenty of heart-wrenching emotion and a fair dose of steam. And all of this takes place in one of the most wonderful locations ever described – the picturesque town on the Maine coast. I’m totally enchanted with this place and Rogan and Harper’s love story.
Meghan Quinn gives us a raw and emotional second chance romance with this story. The history between these two is deep rooted and you can see that as the whole story progresses how much these two were really entwined with each other. I loved the sweetness of childhood friendship turned love, broken lovers trying to exist within the same town after a bad break up, and the depiction of small town folks bringing lovers back to each other. These two were incredible together, and I really loved the flashbacks to their past the most. I appreciated their banter, from painful to awkward but still feeling the sparks, that intense connection and love they shared but were deep down buried. Their story moved me, watching them not going back to what they had but finally moving forward and not keeping things in the past. I could not have asked for a better formula for a romance.
That Forever Girl was a wonderful example of the originality that is Meghan Quinn’s writing. Emotionally devastating yet charming, this was a heart-tugging, slow-burning, second-chance romance, and I didn’t want to put it down. It ticked all the boxes for me. It is a story of love, hope, forgiveness and was at times an emotional roller coaster and I cannot wait for the next release in the series.
That Forever Girl by Meghan Quinn is the second book in her Getting Lucky series and is second chance romance. Rogan and Harper seemed destined to be together. Friends since they were kids, it blossomed into more. But when tragedy strikes everything changes and Rogan pushes Harper away. When she returns years later, the feelings are still there, even if they try and deny them.
Rogan is not happy Harper is back. She wants nothing to do with him. And yet the town has their own opinion! That Forever Girl by Meghan Quinn was an emotional second chance romance. Seeing their story develop as we learn their history and see them deal with their preset. I absolutely loved Rogan and Harper’s journey, even as my heart broke, I cheered for them every step of the way!
4.5-stars! Happy reading!
Meghan Quinn writes second chance romance so well!!!
Rogan and Harper are young, in love and best friends.
Until they’re not! Tragedy strikes and life is hard. Does true love fade though?
Once these two are back in each other’s lives, it’s hard to deny the chemistry flying around.
Love them together! Loving this series, def recommend!
I can’t wait to read about the next Knightly!
High school sweethearts! Second chance romance! The Knightly brothers are back and now it is Rogan’s turn to find love. Rogan never expected to see his high school/college sweetheart, Harper, back in Port Snow. Their breakup was terrible and they haven’t spoken since. So to have her back in town and back in his life, is very disconcerting.
Harper and Rogan’s love story is told through flashbacks and they were so much fun to read. The author starts at day one and from there we go on a journey with them. We get to see the awkward stages of their new relationship grow into the solid high school sweetheart relationship that defined their teenage years. But something or someone clearly destroyed that and I needed to know what or who that was. Because let’s be honest, present Rogan and past Rogan are two completely different people and when I found out what happened I let out a very loud “OMG NOOOOOOO!” Talk about a plot twist.
Harper and Rogan’s love story is one that I really enjoyed. There is plenty of nostalgic groveling (that’s a thing, right?) that tugged at my heart strings, but I was definitely Team Harper throughout the book. So I definitely appreciated the warranted groveling.
I just love the Knightly family! There are a lot of lighthearted moments between the brothers, but there are also some very funny interactions between them that made me laugh out loud more than once. There is nothing like some brotherly love (aka endless teasing & shit stirring) to keep things interesting.
Welcome back to Port Snow. I’m love this town almost as much as the endearing Knightly brothers This story gave me goosies right up to that magical ending. Rogan and Harper take top spot for favorite Knightly brother/couple. My heart is so full from this epic second chance romance that defeated all odds of breaking the love curse and healing old wounds. Meghan Quinn stuns my heart once again by creating a world with dazzling characters and a heart warming romance.
Rogan and Harper have the kind of best friends to lovers everyone wishes for. Their transition into a relationship was flawless and effortless. You can tell these two are true soulmates. And soulmates never die, even if there’s a seven year break and the guy is a complete dick!! Rogan truly has a heart of gold, sometimes it just needs to be polished to shine again. Harper’s character was fantastic, her brave discovery and acceptance of a life she wants to live calls to my wandering heart space
This series is one of my top favorites from Meghan! It’s jammed packed with laugh out loud moments, all the love and romance you could want and beautiful story telling. I can’t wait for Brig and Reid’s stories and more of Port Snow.
ALL THE FEELS!!!!
Monumental Love Story!
Harper is as Sweet As Pie!!
Rogan is Sexy As SIN!!!
That Forever Girl is the perfect novel for all the Second Chance Romance Lovers!
When I first picked up That Forever Girl, I didn’t know what to expect. All I knew at the time was, Meghan Quinn is a fantastic author and her writing style and humor always leaves me wanting more. I went into That Forever Girl with a blind eye. All I knew was this was a second chance romance that takes place in a small town, and from those two facts alone, I was sold.
Harper and Rogan’s story is full of so many ups and downs, and twists and turns. There were times my heart and my emotions had trouble keeping up. I was a complete mess, laughing so hard my ribs feel like they’re bruised one minute and sobbing uncontrollably the very next.
Overall, It’s going to be tough to top Rogan and Harper’s story. I loved how raw and real That Forever Girl felt. I also love how Meghan Quinn shows that not every romance story is hearts and rainbows, we all have our dark clouds and thunderstorm days. It’s those days that make us grow and appreciate the beauty in rainbows even more. That’s what I learned from Harper and Rogan’s story. Learn from the bad so you can appreciate the good fully. This was a great second chance romance and one that I highly recommend to all second chance lovers.

5 Making Each Other Whole Stars!!!
I’m SO HAPPY to be back in Port Snow and Rogan and Harper’s story is everything I wanted and so much more!! These two have been a couple for as long as anyone can remember in this quaint New England town until things change during college and oh my heart truly hurt for both of them for so many different reasons.
Before I get to the real meat of my review I want to say this series has rapidly become one of my favorite by Ms. Quinn and overall from all the books I’ve read! Her writing has a quirkiness to it that just captures my heart but also has me literally snort laughing at times when Rogan and his brothers and sister are ripping into each other! And the “everyone knows your business” in a small town is so accurate in Port Snow. There’s a cast of secondary characters in addition to the Knightly family that become pivotal to the plot of this story.
Harper has been gone from her hometown for seven long years and she comes home hoping she won’t have to see or hear about the love of her life Rogan Knightly, but life just isn’t that kind. Talk about awkward moments. It was clear to me and everyone around them that the pain of their breakup is still at the forefront of their hearts. And let me tell you, there’s some serious verbal sparring going on with them…making me laugh, roll my eyes or cry depending on who’s doing the jabbing!
This story moves at a fabulous pace and I loved how we move between the past and the present. Seeing their relationship develop into what they thought was forever and then the dramatic change that broke both their hearts. Rogan was a true a-hat at times but his love for this girl has never wavered and we see this in the little things. And for her part Harper’s keeping a couple of things close to her heart in fear of hurting again. But once they get past some of these hurdles, watch out they’re on fire and better than ever before.
Let’s not forget the curse that the Knightly boys were warned about in That Second Chance which they all try to say they don’t believe, but yeah, it’s there on the tip of their tongues every time they talk about relationships. Add to this the mystery of letters that Harper and Rogan find in the old Manor Home and we’ve got a little suspense going on and oh these letters are truly beautiful and express a love that just isn’t found as often as it should. These letters and the mystery surrounding them drives Rogan in many ways and as the book progresses we see this man, that was so broken, become the man he’s meant to be and one that can love Harper in every way that she needs to be loved because he’s her other half….
“I like to believe that some people hold the beat of another human’s heart in theirs, and they spend their entire lives searching for the owner. People are put on this earth to love. You are one of those people, and Rogan is your other half. Without him, you’re not whole. Without you, he’s empty. You complete each other, and there is nothing wrong with basing your lives around the love you share.”
There’s so much to this book and this town and I for one will never get tired of visiting Port Snow and knowing Ms. Quinn she’s going to make the rest of the Knightly boys work hard for their forever love and while I might cry along the way, I’m positive I’m going to laugh too and I’m thrilled that I get to take that ride with all the residents of this beautiful town!
So this is the type of book that I love and adore! You have the best friends period turned into high school love and then something happens to tear them apart.. Hence leaving the relationship up in the air and then years later, a second chance is given and then a time to heal from the past and see if the sparks to fly. Rogan and Harper had the friendship and love that many, including their families thought they would make it. One night changed them forever. This book has a sweetness to it. I loved the down home, small town feel and how everyone knows your business. I gotta say I loved the text message and banter between the brothers and honestly feel sorry for their sister. These brothers are good but all have their quirks, especially Reid.. They are helpful at times and also annoying. They care about Rogan and Harper and want them to be happy. My mouth wouldn’t stop smiling when I read about their sweet times during high school and college. They were a couple you were envious of.I loved the mystery and how you feel like you really want to live in Port Snow. You want to taste the fudge and visit all the places that are mentioned. This was an incredible book full of characters you will either love or annoyed at. Rogan and Harper butt heads but soon they realize what they had didn’t ever die. It was just delayed a bit. I seriously loved this book!!
After meeting Rogan Knightly in book one of Meghan Quinn’s Getting Lucky series, I wanted to understand his demeanor and his behavior. He seemed like such a surly jackass and I needed the reasons behind his tortured and angry personality. So as I began reading That Forever Girl, I sifted through the chapters gathering information and realized that it all comes down to one person – Harper Sanders – the girl now woman who was supposed to be his happily ever after but ended up being nothing more than a reminder of everything he lost for the past 7 years.
And the further I read, the easier it was to see that one decision and the effects of that choice changed the entire dynamics and direction of Rogan and Harper’s relationship, leaving them beyond broken and scarred even after Harper returns to Port Snow, leaving their family, friends, and the people of Port Snow to wonder if these two would ever have a second chance and find their way back to each other, working toward that forever once again.
Because Rogan and Harper’s story is told through both of their perspectives, readers are privy to just how caught up they both are with their mutual past, with the words that were said and actions that were taken. Rogan and Harper’s emotions resonate in the words they use to describe their struggles, their grief, their pain, and especially, their anger. There are overwhelming feelings on both sides, which makes things even more complicated when Harper returns to Port Snow and they both realize that their past has to be dealt with in order for both of them to move forward, however that may be.
Quinn uses flashbacks to illustrate the progression of Rogan and Harper’s relationship – from becoming friends then lovers to realizing they want to spend forever together to where they are when That Forever Girl begins – practically strangers due to the 7 years of no contact and the hatred that they were left with when they went their separate ways.
I do have to say that as much as I enjoyed the evolvement of Harper and Rogan’s relationship in the flashbacks, I found myself skimming some of those parts because I wanted to be back in the present, witnessing them work through their issues and reach a common ground that could lead them back to each other as something other than frenemies or exes. It’s not that I didn’t feel the flashbacks were necessary because they do shed light on why Harper and Rogan are so ill-at-ease with one another; I guess I just wanted a little less information in some parts so that readers could get back to the present situation.
Boy are these Knightly brothers a crazy bunch. They egg each other on, give as good as they get, and they definitely don’t pull any punches. And it absolutely works for all of them and despite the fact that they want to kill one another more often than not, they’re a sustaining force in each other’s lives, which helps them in ways that they probably don’t even realize or would admit to…
Harper and Rogan’s story is an emotionally rich second chance romance that illustrates that forever is not guaranteed to any couple, especially when the unexpected happens and the things that are said and the actions that are taken have severe repercussions, but what That Forever Girl also teaches is that nothing is impossible as long as the people are willing to do whatever it takes to make amends, to make strides at mending broken connections, and to admit to every action and reaction that was done in anger and in anguish…because that’s the only way that a forever together can truly occur.
4.5 Poison Apples
Oh, my heart! Gah, this was such an amazingly beautiful journey between these two. I don’t know how many times I cried and laughed. It’s very heartwarming.
Harper and Rogan were best friends, that turned to lovers. They were addicted to each other and felt that no one else could ever come between them. But of course, words are thrown, and mistakes are made. That sent them in opposite directions. I truly felt Harper’s emotions throughout this story, as well as Rogan’s. How does Quinn do this? It’s like she has this magic way of weaving a story. That not only takes them on a journey but also you as a reader.
This is why I love reading — feeling as though you are part of the story with this whole town. I can’t wait for #3. I don’t even have to know what it’s about. I love this town and these characters she’s created. It’s like The Notebook 2.0.
Overall, of course, Five Boundless Stars
LOVE Rogan. I am a sucker for a bitter, broken hero.
We knew he was this way in That Second Chance, but we get the whole story here and see an alternative side to him.
And the thing that I LOVE about MQ Stories is that they are never what they seem. She always has such little details that you don’t see coming. Her characters have depth and personality. The banter is spot on and realistic. And the family group texts, I LIVE for that. So damn funny.
I don’t usually gravitate towards small town romances, but this little land in Maine has drawn me right in and I want more.
