One of the sweetest books I’ve read.
Rogan & Harper are childhood best friends who grow together and end up falling in love. One disastrous moment in life has completely left them shattered and broken.
After years apart, learning how to find themselves an unexpected moment has them in their same small town seeing each other and questioning everything they thought they knew of each other..
Rogan lost Harper but wants a second chance and will do anything and everything to show her he’s not the same young adult who viciously broke her heart.
Harper has never recovered and has been suffering ever since, she’s back in town but for reasons she keeps close and tight. She is shattered and needs to avoid Rogan at all cost.
A Story of Friendship, & Fully Understanding The Love You Feel & Have Is Enough For Oneself.
Getting a second chance at his first and only love is the one thing Rogan Knightly never thought he would have to chance to do. But when Harper returns to town with an excuse he knows she’s only saying to hide her real reason for returning, he finds himself wanting to see her more than he wants to avoid her. After seven years without her, she still can bring him to his knees. When she lands a job with helping a movie production find locations for the film, it’s his properties they use, so he uses the opportunity to get closer to her. But making her realize he’s a new man and wont hurt her again is going to be the real task.
Meghan Quinn makes you fall in love with Rogan Knightly from page one and you only fall harder and deeper with each page you read.
The past of hurt and pain in both of Rogan and Harper’s lives still lives and breathes, but so does the happier memories and the love they had for each other never died. After Rogan’s accident he loses himself in the dark pain that followed the end of his future career in the NFL, but with that pain he caused pain on the love he shared with Harper. Pushing her away, thinking she deserved way more than he could ever give her then, is the biggest regret he has in his life. When she appears in town and stays for good, he realizes just how much he has missed her and what a huge mistake pushing her away was. Determined to change her mind to give him a second chance, Rogan will stop at nothing and pull all the strings he can to show Harper how much he has changed, and changed for the better. That all his hard work up until that point has only been to keep pieces of her around him when he thought he would never see her again.
Que the “awws” and heart-felt “sighs” as you watch Rogan pursue his one and love all over again. Two brothers left in the Knightly crew and I don’t know how Meghan is going to top this one. So incredibly good!
4.5 stars of epic Lovemark channel romance!
Meghan Quinn is no slouch when it comes to feels. She doesn’t shy away from heartache, heartbreak, and pain. If she isn’t making you double over in laughter, swooning like an 19th century debutante, than she’s making the fight against tears a formidable one. That’s just the way she writes!
That Forever Girl is no exception. With a healthy dose of pain, longing, and unrequited love, That Forever Girl is everything I said. There are heartwarming moments of hilarity, heart eyed swooning, and hard fought battles against your tear ducts. (Good luck winning those!)
Even the title makes me misty eyed now that the significance is obvious. This family, these brothers, this town, everything screams HOME!
Meghan Quinn is going to have to create and found Port Snow so that we can all experience the joys it brings.
That Forever Girl was about two people who may have loved each other too much. So much that they couldn’t help but hurt each other. So much that it drew out the most immature impulses they ever had. Was it fun to watch? You bet your ass it was!
Rogan and Harper were best friends since sixth grade. In their teens, they both couldn’t understand what had changed but they wanted each other. They just didn’t share it. There were awkward moments, insecurities and doubts, until one day and one kiss changed everything. They were in love and it was forever… until it wasn’t. When tragedy befalls this couple, love isn’t enough to erase bitterness and resentment and after ugly things are said, these two are separated by time and distance. Seven years later, they’re both home and being in the same small town is difficult to say the least. Not only do they have to concentrate in order to avoid the other, his family and the entire town are meddling, trying to get these lovebirds back together. Their forever kind of love was obvious to everyone… just not to them.
“Honestly, I feel like our love story could easily be a Lovemark movie.”
“Really?” Sally asks. “Do tell.”
“It checks all the boxes. High school sweethearts, small-town romance with quirky side characters, a bit of a mystery, with a whole lot of heartache. Oh, and don’t forget a classic second-chance romance. Maybe a little enemies to lovers snuck in there.”
^^^^^^ That sums it up pretty nicely. The Knightly brothers are HILARIOUS!! They were the absolute highlight of this story. I couldn’t get enough of their banter and group message texts. I’m telling you, Meghan Quinn really knows when and how to bring the humor. Rogan was extremely cold for so long, but with flashes to the past, the author made me not only understand where his iciness came from, but to sympathize with this character. Once I was able to see the big picture… SWOONS!! Loved me some Rogan. I’m a little surprised so little time was spent on him and Harper as a couple. There was a lot of history and a lot of present fighting and I especially enjoyed the little twist that explained A LOT, but I was hoping for more of them together as a unit. Ah well, I still loved this.
Oh Port Snow and those Knightly brothers. Le sigh. Rogan seemed to have a stick up his bum and I could never quite figure out why. Until Harper moved back to town. Those childhood sweethearts tore my little ol’ heart wide open. I wanted to move right in and push them together just like the entire town was butting in. Get that stick out, Rogan! Quit letting him chase you away, Harper! Anyway…the way the story unfolds is perfection. I felt all of the angst and love and even the teasing to my very soul. These two broken people were meant to be together and their journey in the end was beautiful. Rogan never gave Harper up in his heart. I can’t wait to read Reid and Brig’s stories! The Knightly Brothers are an addiction I don’t want to give up!
Lord, That Forever Girl by Meghan Quinn was just the perfect story for me!! Quinn seems to deliver just what I need right when I need it! Harper and Rogan have this second chance romance with a hate but really love thing going on. Harper had her heart broken and shredded by Rogan. I can’t even tell you all how much I related to this storyline and to Harper. I met my first husband in 6th grade and we remained besties all through high school and then things changed to more romantic feelings. Things didn’t work out for us, thankfully really.
Anyway, I really was put off by Rogan at first. He was so aloft and cold. He made me angry. But that dual POV that flipped between past and present was what eventually won me over. I started to understand him. Rogan turns out to be a total heart-throb with words that hit me directly in the gut! Harper was just perfect. I found her to be strong and really, just radiant. She’s a strong female lead and I just love when Meghan Quinn gives us women that are strong like this! I see the realness and the damage. It makes them seem so relatable!
Meghan Quinn shocks me with every book she writes. I love the dual POV, it’s a favorite for me, but the alternating past and present mixed with the multiple POVs should make it seem confusing. It isn’t. The writing is the perfect Quinn flow all her readers expect. Post Snow feels like such a cute and quaint area. The way Quinn has created the area and the people in it make it truly feel like an adorable New England town. I don’t think there’s another author around that pulls me in like Meghan Quinn. She makes my heart smile and I’m always left with a content feeling.
I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that… my opinions.
I am in love with Meghan Quinn’s Getting Lucky series and Port Snow, Maine! I love, love, love small town romances, and this series from Quinn has me bursting with excitement. Quinn’s writing style is an engaging blend of humor, heat and heart. She never fails to pull me in with her storytelling, and she did that in this story with her fantastic sense of humor, plenty of heart-wrenching emotion and a fair dose of steam. Port Snow is vividly depicted as the picturesque coastal Maine small town where Quinn introduces readers to the four Knightly brothers, who are all cursed in the romance department, and their beleaguered sister.
I don’t want to spoil a single thing about this story, so I’ll just say that Quinn does the second chance romance right. This couple has one heck of a complicated, painful and long history going back to the sixth grade. Rogan Knightly had a bright and promising future laid out in front of him as a professional football player when he and his high school sweetheart left for college together. Tragedy strikes, leaving Rogan bitter, angry, resentful and unable to see any sort of future for himself, let alone one that includes his forever girl, Harper Sanders. Harper carries her own baggage about what happened to Rogan, and losing him leaves her broken-hearted and lost. Seven long, torturous years later, Harper returns to Port Snow for good.
That Forever Girl was a wonderful example of the originality that is Meghan Quinn’s writing. Emotionally devastating yet charming, this was a heat-tugging, slow-burning second-chance romance, and I didn’t want to put it down. There was so much heartbreak and damage to heal between Harper and Rogan before they could have any kind of chance, and Quinn didn’t shy away from a single painful piece of their history as she took readers along for the ride to their reconciliation. This is a couple that I couldn’t help but root for, and I devoured their story with a racing, hopeful heart. Five smooches from me for That Forever Girl by Meghan Quinn!

Another fabulously sweet romance for another of the Knightly brothers. Rogan Knightly got his second chance with his first love, Harper Sanders, and it was an emotional transformation to being the man she deserved.
In book one of this delightful series, we get to know a little about the Knightly brothers, but Roger Knightly was the most aloof. He was the broody one of the bunch and all the while I kept thinking…why? What happened to him to be so jaded and cynical? Well, now I know and totally understand.
At a young age he and Harper had their lives all mapped out. A happily ever after was inevitable with those two. Even the town knew it. What started as a friendship became SO MUCH MORE as they matured and it was something only imagined by some. It truly was a beautiful thing they had. But one night changed it all and Rogen didn’t handle it well. He pushed Harper and everyone away. Now that he’s older and had everything he could ever want, he’s still so lonely. So Harper returning to town is his second chance. A chance to make things right and get back on track with that fairytale life they planned for all those years ago.
I loved the detailed transformation that I could practically see. The friction between them in the beginning as then it was like a flower blooming. I could see Rogan change before my very eyes. Harper truly was his missing piece and once the puzzle was while again, he became the man he was always meant to be.
This series truly is wonderful. Their like Hallmark movies in paper [or digital if you read it in ebook]. I’ve loved every moment I’ve spend with the Knightly family and their adorable little town of Port Snow. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for Reid and Brig.
OMG I was dying laughing! I absolutely love Rogan and Harper!
Harper returns to her home town, Port Snow, to be with her Dad and to get away from her ex.
Rogan can’t get over Harper being back with the struggle of what he did to her in the past. The past is never left behind where most would like, sometimes the past needs to push you into the direction that fate had set.
I loved the present day and flash backs to their younger years. It is such a nice change than the author just doing the usual recap. I completely fell in love with these two.
There was tons of laughter, little angst, and so much entertainment. I really didn’t want this to end.
Audio review:
Oh wow, that was a rough ride.
What Harper and Rogan had to endure was brutal, absolutely gut wrenching. Though there were pieces of kindness and cuteness scattered throughout.
Overcoming their pasts and moving forward was always going to be tricky but the payoff was so sweet, so perfect. William and Reese, once again, did a stellar job with narration.
Although the writing was good and there are parts of the story I found interesting or entertaining, I just couldn’t get past the annoying and completely unhealthy lack of boundaries within this family. Not only do the siblings cross some pretty serious boundaries in this book, and the first, the parents seem to believe their sons are still 5 yrs old and blatantly stomp all over any healthy boundaries they try over and over again to establish.
I know my complete and utter dislike of this dysfunctional family dynamic stems from my own experiences with this type of boundary stomping, so I struggled with the rating because this is truly my issue. I hate when authors write this type of dysfunctional family dynamic, so, sadly, I had to DNF this book and the rest of the series.
If it doesn’t bother you, though, I enjoyed the first book in this series, aside from the issue above, and I liked the 30% of this book I was able to get through. However, is this type of thing annoys or triggers you, you might want to skip this series. Meghan Quinn has several other wonderful books you could check out instead.
Harper Sanders is back in town. Rogan Knightly broke her heart. Now he has to see her and all the memories that came back with her.u2063

This story is told in dual timelines…Harper and Rogan in high school and college, and present day. Through the flashbacks, we see how their relationship started and watch it grow. We also find out the source of Rogan’s baggage and the reason he broke Harper’s heart.u2063

I just finished the last book, Brig’s, and I can now say that Rogan is my favorite Knightly brother! He’s clearly still in love with Harper and wants a second chance…and he’s pretty smooth about trying to get it. He may be a bit broody, and a lot sexy, but he’s also so sweet and sentimental. The storyline with the letters and what he ended up doing with them? I thought my heart was going to explode!u2063

Ya’ll, just go read this book (and the series!) Seriously. Go ahead. What are you waiting for?u2063

P.S. I’m living for these sibling texts!! u2063
What a delightful book! Great characters, sexual tension, and a wonderfully sweet and touching story!
*happy sigh* You know when you read a book and it just gets into your very marrow of your bones, where you feel everything the characters feel? This book was one of those for me.
We get points of view from Rogan and Harper, but we also get two additional views from both of their pasts through high school and college. I think that is what really drew me in and connected me to these two. I felt MQ also gave us a bit of a mystery in this book as well, that had you scratching your head thinking, what happened? Why? Who is it? So many questions, but good questions that are of course wrapped up in the end.
Rogan and Harper were high school sweethearts. I mean it’s bound to happen growing up in small town, Port Snow, where their families were heavily involved in the community. When an accident occurred seven years ago to tear them apart, neither one truly moved on from their past. They both had to work through guilt and their own demons to come to light that they needed each other. The rekindled flame was hot and sexy and just gave me a permanent smile. Then the little jabs that they give one another had me cracking up as well.
If you don’t want to read the whole series and just choose one, it needs to be this one! But while I may have only just finished book two, I recommend the whole series! These guys are amazeballs!
Oh man, I loved going back to Port Snow and the Knightly brothers! This time for Rogan and Harper to rekindle their romance from their teen years. And unless Rogan and Harper can see their way past their past history, their romance won’t make it this time either.
I struggled a bit with Rogan, and his likeability, and his real desire to win Harper’s heart again. I did love that Harper didn’t just acquiesce and allow Rogan to run roughshod over her. That she made him work at it. Their story was a bit of a slow burn, but it was needed due to the fact that Rogan had a lot of things to make up for.
In the end, I did really like Rogan and Harper together, that their love really did seem genuine and true. And I’m looking forward to Eve and Reid’s story next!
OMG I loved this book.
Loved the story of Harper and Rogan. Such a sweet HEA
Loving these books. Love the Knightly boys.
I am loving this series and Rogan and Harper started as best friends that turns to love in high school. As true love is, they settle on the same college where Rogan is a star football player until a reckless accident at a frat party takes away his career and eventually the demons in his soul lead to him ending his relationship with Harper and going back home. This story is told in past and present and at times is heart breaking and at others is filled with so much joy. Harper is back in town now and running into Rogan all the time. Now with the movie company coming to town she has been hired to find all the places to film around town and ends up working with Rogan. Can they work together? Will they find their way back together? Can they learn to trust and love again? This series is so, so good!
This second chance, small town romance is everything you want it to be. After reading the first in this series I wanted to know all of Rogen’s secrets and his and Harper’s are so good! Adding in the mystery of the Manor and MFG…I loved it!
While it took me a long time to finish this, I still really loved it. I’m giving it 4.5 out of 5 stars. This review is for an ARC, and reflects my honest opinion.
There were a lot of tropes: second chance romance, a really slow burn, friends-to-lovers, and even enemies-to-lovers kind of. There were two timelines (past and present), and it would be hard to say which was my favorite. They both had their good points/moments.
I really liked Harper, and her dad. I adored seeing more of the Knightly family, and I did like Rogan a lot. I’m not sure if he will be my favorite brother, so we’ll have to wait and see. While I appreciated the friendship turned romance in the past, the present was a little harder for me to get behind. The scenario behind their breakup was slowly revealed, and it took forever for them to get back together. Honestly, I wanted things to happen quicker, but the pace made sense based on things revealed towards the end of the book.
Overall, I really enjoyed this, and I can’t wait to continue on with the series. I would recommend if you like Hallmark movies, or sweeter contemporary romances. They have a different tone from the other Meghan Quinn books I’ve read, but they’re just as fantastic.
A beautiful story full of heartbreak and tragedy. A story of bestfriends who fall in love, their love defines everything they do and being together is all they want. So wrapped up in each other they never see the tragic accident that will tear them apart coming. Seven long and bitter years later, when Harper finally comes home again, Rogan has no idea how to handle it. He still loves her, but being angry and bitter have become a clock he wears to protect himself. Harper is hurting from something and just wants to heal and enjoy being with her father in a town she loves. She is not prepared for Rogan and his attitude, at all! Beautifully written, full of love and pain, this is a real love story of enduring love, even when it’s over.
