Raised in High Point and spent my vacation this year in Edinburgh. Fun and unexpected combination.
look forward to reading more of her books.
I love Ciji Ware’s wonderful contemporary novels. How wonderful to be carried away to Scotland! Full of fascinating characters.
This is a favorite book by one of my favorite authors=Ciji Ware. An American girl of Scottish descent and a Scot from Edinburgh meet in New York and there is a spark. Later she travels to Scotland for her job, and meets up with the Scot who takes her on a modern and historic tour. They have an ancient connection in addition to their passionate …
Loved it! Her descriptions of Edinburgh were as I remembered and it was a fun story!
Reading now, but enjoying every page. The main characters meet in a surprising way and their story then takes 5 years of professional struggle before they are again together. She is trying to save a family business she hasn’t really been welcomed and he is trying to save his, they come together to do both and find love.
Can’t finish… Just goes on and on to nowhere as far as I can tell.
I liked it very much. The descriptions of Scotland brought back memories from my trip to Edinburgh and nearby. It was a combination of history, romance and suspense. The characters were realistic. Sometimes it seemed to take a long time to get to the next major event. I definitely would recommend That Autumn in Edinburgh.
Great story and I felt like I was in Scotland loved it
If you are of Scottish heritage, the book would mean a lot more. The heavy lineage tracing and Scottish names were a bit much but the characters are likable and worth rooting for. Be aware that the sex sections are very explicit. Overall I give it a B rating.
OK I’ll admit it—I have a Scottish heritage and I get goosebumps hearing bagpipes playing or even reading about bagpipes playing! So I went into this book with high expectations. It did not disappoint. The descriptions of Scotland were superb. The story, weaving genealogy with the present day, kept me turning pages to see who was related to …
I enjoyed the book very much, especially the 2 main characters Fiona and Alex. Also learned quite a bit about Scotland. Wonderful, clean story without any foul language.
