A sexy new friends-to-lovers standalone!Let me list the reasons why dating the sexy, charming pro hockey star is a bad idea:1. He’s one of my closest friends2. All our friends are friends3. The wounds I’ve got from past relationships go deep. And so do his. We’re both devoutly single — it’s just safer for the heart that way. But there’s no reason not to bid on the gorgeous, clever athlete at the … the gorgeous, clever athlete at the charity auction this weekend. If I win, it’ll be a “friendsdate.”
And I do win.
I win him big.
And hard.
And all night long.
The trouble is . . . what happens in the morning?
Thanks For Last Night is a standalone romance in The Guy Who Got Away series. The other titles are Dear Sexy Ex-Boyfriend and The What If Guy.

Let me tell you how much I loved this book. Not only did I read this book, I immediately listened to the audiobook right after reading it. Thanks For Last Night is a friends to lovers romance full of humor, spice (the set you on fire kind), friendship and love. You know a relationship is going to be epic when you click on so many levels. Let me tell you, there’s lots of “clicking” between Ransom and Teagan. The question is…will they sink or swim?
Teagan and Ransom were full of light laughter and witty banter but all it takes is a few moments for them to realize that some people are worth putting it all on the line and taking a chance on the person who sets your world on fire and once you do you find that that person makes all your fears melt away one by one as they prove over and over that being with them is as easy as breathing.
On top of each couple in this series falling in love there was also the relationship between the group of friends that seemed to grow even stronger as each new person was added to this close-knit group. It was so much more than friendship, they formed a family made of people that have the utmost love and respect for one another.
Thanks For Last Night was my favorite in The Guys Who Got Away series. The perfect medley of witty banter, steam, feels and meddlesome friends that are determined to show their last remaining single friends that taking a chance on love is always worth the risk.
Thanks For Last Night Is another Fantastic Read From Lauren Blakely but it’s also another Amazing new couple we get to fall for.
We have met Ransom & Teagan before but now we get to see them finally come together and put aside both their fears of relationships and see what more than a friendship can bring.
This couple is just so much fun, they enjoy teasing the other, the heart to hearts are Fantastic but the chemistry is off the charts Amazing.
With every new couple comes another great story and when you see that HEA is in each and everyone of their futures you can’t help feel a pitter patter in your heart.
Thanks for Last Night is the friends-to-lovers story of the last two single people in the “Guys Who Got Away” friends group pairing up. It’s fairly short, pretty sweet, and hella steamy. It can *kinda* stand on its own, but not really…Teagan and Ransom’s story, for most intents and purposes, ends around the 90% mark, except for portions of some epilogues–there isn’t any real suspense about their relationship past that point, anyway. But there are a whole lot of passages (some whole–short–chapters, and most of a “bonus” epilogue) from other characters’ POVs, so you’ll get a lot more out of the story if you’re familiar with those characters’ back stories too. So, my two cents: read all the other books before you get to this one, because pretty much everyone’s story gets wrapped up here, along with our two MCs.
The premise behind this one was cute, if a bit shaky–their matchmaking friends figure out that a bachelor auction is the best vehicle to bring these crazy kids together, since Ransom’s an NHL player who’s often on “top ten” lists and Teagan just happens to have a sizable family trust that she needs to use for charity donations every year. After losing a bet, she agrees to “buy” him–for charity. Naturally 😉 But they’re going to stay just friendly friends throughout, of course.
Also of course? This lasts less than an evening before they move on to the “more than” portion of their friendship. Who could have seen that coming? 😉
Their main relationship “problems” (in quotes, because they are overcome fairly easily and painlessly) are having been burned in the past and not wanting to ruin their friend group. Truly, though, there is very little suspense here and almost no danger that they’re not going to end up together once they get started–so if you’re looking for an angsty, will-they-or-won’t-they, can these two possibly be together? kind of story…this isn’t it. But a steamy story of two friends who become more along with some further-along-on-the-HEA-timeline bits of their friends’ stories? This is that book. With a bonus romance thrown in, because why not? (Not even going to hint at this one, but you’ll see it coming from about six miles away and it’s cute.)
So…no real surprises here, but still a fun read. And if you’ve read the others in the series already? You are NOT going to want to miss this one.

5 star Review of Thanks For Last Night by Lauren Blakely
If you are looking for a spicy fun read then Thanks For Last Night is the book for you. This was a great addition to Ms.Blakely’s latest series and was an entertaining read that had me hooked from the first to the last chapter.
As I have come to expect from Ms. Blakely, the story was funny with characters you cannot help but fall for and whose story I was fully invested in. This is Ransom and Teagan’s friends to lovers story. The fact that their love is based on such a wonderful friendship only added to my enjoyment of the story.
The chemistry between Ransom and Teagan sizzles. I love this group of friends. I laughed so much with the humour and banter, these characters are just so fabulous that you want to be their friends. Individually these characters were awesome but together they take the book to another level.
Thanks for Last Night
By: Lauren Blakely
Narrated by: Zachary Webber, Andi Arndt, Brian Pallino, Stella Hunter, Joe Arden – epilogue
How can you not love Lauren Blakely’s fun and flirty books? Every time, I know I am in for a fun time, and this one is an especially good time. Ransom and Teagan are an amazing couple. Thrown together on numerous occasions by their happily in relationship friends, it’s impossible for them not to be good friends. But is there more? When Teagan wins Ransom at an auction for a date, we will find out just how much more there is. But is it more than one night? Fun, flirty, steamy, exciting, good friends, fun times, a little angst and a whole lot of feel good times, Lauren has given us a fantastic book. I love this couple for so many reasons. I love all their friends, especially getting to see Fitz and Dean, I love catching up on Brynn and Logan. And I just love the camaraderie this ensemble cast has.And hockey, we can’t forget that! It’s a wonderful way to spend an afternoon, bringing a smile to your face and love to your heart.
As always, Lauren Blakely picks the narrators that are meant to be these characters. Zachary Webber as Ransom is fabulous. He is in tune with who Ransom is and and lets it flow in his voice. Andi Arndt is Teagan. She has a warmth to her voice and the perfect personality for her. Add in Brian Pallino’s sexy Spanish accent, with Stella Hunter and Joe Arden cameos and it made my day!

The best book out of the 3!!! I adored this couple so much! I couldn’t put it down!
Thanks for this book! 4 stars
Thanks for this book, because it made me smile and made me forget the real world for a couple of hours! I smiled and laughed out loud at the first few pages of this book just like I always do with this author’s rom-coms! I loved Teagan from the beginning and continued to love her throughout the book. She was “confidence, mixed with warmth, the determination paired with cleverness.” Ransom was an all around good guy who was loyal, smart and clever too. Their banter was hilarious! They were friends that had a spark and decided to have one night together. They have both been hurt by their exes, and they each don’t want a serious relationship. But what happens when they realize they each want more than one night and feelings might be involved? A fun, sexy, drama free friends-to-lovers romance was what happened, and I enjoyed every minute of it and recommend it!
*I received an advanced copy of this ebook for my honest review that I am voluntarily leaving.*
Thanks for All The Stories!!!
Thanks For Last Night is the last of ‘The Guys Who Got Away’ series. Each of the previous three books were amazing and brilliant, starting with Dear Sexy Ex-Boyfriend (Summer & Oliver’s tale). Followed by The What If Guy, (Brynn & Logan)… then, Ms. Blakely stepped out of her comfort zone for Fitz and Dean’s story, with her first-ever M/M romance A Guy Walks Into My Bar.
Each of these left me with a super warmed up heart plus hot and aching in others!!!
But, as always, the best came last.
Ransom and Teagan hit the ball out of the park, or in Ransom’s case, the hockey puck over the net. LOL.
This was a sweet, sexy and slightly angsty story that had a ton of heat and two characters that it was obvious had feelings for each other, even though they swore they were just friends and that’s all they could or would be. Both had reasons why they didn’t want to be in a relationship, but once they took the initial step, and their chemistry was off the charts hot. Their banter was funny, sexy, and at times, hilarious. But, they had some deep moments too, where they bared their souls to each other.
Getting to hear from the previous couples was a wonderful extra cherry on the whipped cream of this delicious tale.
This series has been so fun to read but Ransom and Teagan brought another layer to their story.
This story is definitely funny but it had so much emotion that I found myself shedding tears over the background of these two. I wanted to reach through and give them the biggest hugs because my heart was breaking for them.
I have a lot LB books on my TBR since I’m slowly making my way through her backlist but if the stories of Ransom’s sisters don’t already exist, they need to. They are funny and witty and definitely ladies I’d love to get to know more. This epilogue was my favorite part of the whole book because of Tempest.
Oh, how I love a great love story! Ransom and Teagan’s was so beautiful. Hanging out with a bunch of friends is great, and as the group gets bigger, it’s like a family expanding. Ransom and Teagan have been flirty with one another, and are clearly attracted to each other. But neither wants to cross that line, and possibly mess up things with their friends. Besides, they both have issues from their past, and have no intention of getting in a relationship.
When an opportunity presents itself, Ransom asks Teagan for a favor, and being the great friend she is, is all in. That’s when things get really interesting. I loved that Ransom and Teagan were friends, and were able to have open and honest discussions with each other. They’re genuinely interested in each other as friends, and that forms a great foundation for more—should they decide to go that route. This is a love story, so of course they take that route.
There was quite a bit of heat between these two, but also a strong respect and adoration for each other. I loved their banter, and listening to Zachary Webber is such a treat. He embodies Ransom, and you feel all of his feels. Andi Arndt IS Teagan, and I love her narration of a badass woman with a heart of gold.
And thank you, Lauren for creating the accented hunk Martinez. While I’m fiercely loyal to my Dallas Cowboys and San Antonio Spurs, I have no such commitment to a baseball team. I do have a weakness for hot baseball players, and a closer in a Yankees uniform is a visual and aural treat.
I loved the catch-up with Ransom’s fellow hockey teammates, and their significant others. And everyone else that may not be paired up just yet (but Lauren probably has plans for them).
The Guys Who Got Away series is so great, and I hope it never ends…or at least not too soon.
I loved this hilarious and heartfelt friends to lovers romance! This is the third book in the Guys Who Got Away series and features Ransom and Teagan. They are friends in a close knit, group of friends, co-workers and family. They are attracted to each other but don’t want to act on it for fear it will be awkward for all if they break up. Seems reasonable right? But their friends see more than what Ransom and Teagan see, and when the perfect opportunity arises, the fun medaling begins. Ransom and Teagan are so perfect together. They have fun together, and their banter is witty while discovering each other’s pasts, quirks, hopes and dreams. When they finally give in and give them a chance, they realize it is more than worth the risk to have it all together, with no rules and no limits. Ransom and Teagan are both wonderful characters that are caring, thoughtful, fun, and have explosive chemistry. I loved them both along with catching up and meeting more of their fun, loving, and supportive family and friends. I was also excited about the special extended epilogue about Martinez and the dots it connected from his story! Ms. Blakely creates such vibrant, witty characters who are socially conscious, work hard, and play even harder. Their world is a place I love to visit and feel apart of thanks in part to this wonderful cast of narrators who make Blakely’s world come alive so perfectly. Zachary Webber, and Andi Arndt give amazing performances, along with special guest appearances by Brian Pallino, Stella Hunter, and Joe Arden. All of these very talented narrators can easily voice different characters. They are always a joy to listen to as they effortlessly bring out all the fine nuances that make these characters feel authentic and real. I especially swooned over Pallino’s very sexy latin accent! I was totally captivated by this heartwarming, fun and sexy romance!
Wow, just love Lauren Blakely. Thanks For Last Night is her latest book featuring Ransom and Teagan. You do get a healthy dose of previous characters to help bring this series to close. Super fun heroes and heroines who are all sexy, sassy, handsomely HOT, gorgeous, and know how to love the women or men they fall head over heels with. Both Ransom and Teagan need a little extra care/help to see that they just might be perfect for each other! Lauren does write super hot between the sheets scenes,(fan needed). Without giving away anything just know this is a super fun and sexy read with multiple POV’s and that is what makes it so fun. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. *****
Stories like this are why I continue to read Lauren’s books. The banter, the characters, the heat and heart, I could go on and on. I’m so glad Ransom and Teagan were given a story. It was so fun and light and steamy. And the peak into where are the friends are now was just icing on the cake.
This is the story of Random and Teagan. They are the only singles left in their group of friends and the recent target of some of the twosomes’ matchmaking attempts. But there are reasons for our couple to remain single and neither one want to succumb to the budding attraction between them.
I have to say, the banter this couple have surpasses all other. Their friendship translates into that easy and fun rapport you can only find in people who are truly close to each other and I loved all of it.
A lot of competitive streaks, deep forged friendships and new relationships are the backdrop of this nicely crafted romance of a couple that deemed themselves career singles.
Their story is a lot of fun and comes with a lot of surprises and unexpected nuggets that made this book a whole lot more than any reader can expect.
Lauren Blakely has once again delivered another couple that simply made me fall in love all over again.
Ransom and Teagan seem to be the last two people standing. All their friends have taken the plunge into coupledom (yes, it’s a thing lol). So they can’t take a chance on messing this carefully constructed life. But when looks linger a bit too long, their friends notice and make a case for them to take the plunge. And Ransom is ready to make a play for Teagan.
Part of the plan is getting Teagan to bid on the hot hockey player at a charity auction. She’s all in. A date and charity is everything she would like to be a part of. What neither expected was just how perfect it was being together. They simply “got each other”.
Ransom was able to woo me with his devotion to his family. Teagan was so comfortable with herself and exuded confidence. Another couple to reinforce there’s still love springing eternal. Just give it a chance.
I couldn’t get enough of Ransom and Teagan. I loved their competitive nature in this fast-paced friends to lovers romance!
All their friends are friends and they are coupled up. They want both Ransom and Teagan to be happy and they have no issues with the two of them being together, however, Ransom and Teagan have their own issues they need to overcome. I loved their friendship, it was fun and light. Ransom needed Teagan’s help and that help quickly brought their own feelings and all that chemistry to the surface and things quickly escalated from there.
This can be read as a standalone, however, the story flows better if you’ve read the previous books and you’ll have all the back story on the rest of the group. Plus, those bonus epilogues are perfection if you’ve been following this group from the start!
Thanks for Last Night is a fun, hilarious, hot friends to lovers romance that will suck you in from the start. A MUST READ and another hit form Lauren Blakely.
Audio Review
Love this series and book 3 gives us all the hot sexy times as well as all the friendships that are all bonded together. Book 3 is Ransom and Teagan’s story and they were destined to fall in love as all their co-friends already have their significant other so these two are the last ones out and naturally their friends want them to be happy. Since they already like each other and have so many things in common it just makes sense and when Ransom needs Teagan’s help one thing leads to another and they have their one night but now what? Is it just that, one night? What do you say when you are leaving from said night, “thanks for last night”? Especially when you want it to be so much more.
This is a love story that was meant to happen and it is also about their friends and their love lives as well. We are woven back and forth between characters from past books that we loved and future love to come. I love when old characters are pulled into the current book so I can catch up with them again and this book gives us that. There are naturally hurdles to get through but nothing major and this is all love and fun and happy endings.
Zachary Webber and Andi Arndt are always amazing and they did a great job with Ransom and Teagan’s story. Loved listening to both of them as well as an added bonus of Brian Pallino and Stella Hunter.
I received an early copy to listen and review and give my honest opinion. I really enjoyed it and highly recommend it.
What a spectacular way to end this fun, sexy, flirty series! And it’s not just one book, it’s a book within a book, within a book! I loved it and it shouldn’t surprise me because Ms. Blakely certainly knows how to write romantic comedies. I knew I would love Ransom and Teagan’s story, I just didn’t know it would be so emotional to close the book on these wonderful couples I’ve come to know and love throughout this series. I guess re-visiting Oliver, Summer, Logan, Bryn, Fitz, and Dean just brought it all together in a perfectly wrapped package that I’m finding hard to say goodbye to. If you’re looking for sweet and swoony romances, read The Guys Who Got Away series — And you’ll also get a bonus book! Another 5-star read from Lauren Blakely.
Thanks for Last Night is the third book in the The Guys Who Got Away series by the ever-talented, Lauren Blakely. I am in love with this series, and have been falling slowly in love with Ransom North since the moment I met him. Teagan as well. They are so well matched, and I am so excited that they are getting their chance at love.
Ransom and Teagan over the last few months have become great friends. Friends who like to spend time with small group of friends doing all kinds of fun activities around New York. From laser tag to ping-pong. They are all about the fun. They are single and happy while their friends are all coupled up and in love. And now, those friends are shooting their arrows at them. They know they would be good together but both, Ransom and Teagan don’t want to risk it. Risk their hearts. Risk their friendship. Risk the group’s good-time. But, one night to get each other out of their systems wouldn’t change anything, right?
Yeah. Let them think that.
These two. Their competitive banter is like foreplay-in-the-making over the months. They both have their reasons for avoiding love and relationships. They just want to enjoy life without the complications. Without another heartbreak. But, it’s them. Will one night be enough? Is going for it all worth the risk? Is giving love a second chance something they can truly do?
Awe! I love them. I was falling slowly and now, I am all in. Their story. Their connection. Their banter. Their friendship. Their hidden talents. The writing is once again phenomenal. It was so much fun catching up with these friends that are more like family.
Quotes:
The live view is way better. I’ll just ogle Ransom for a bit. Yup, I’m a perv, but no one can blame me.
“Did he cost five bucks or ten?”
“Did you use a coupon to save some money?” Bryn chimes in. “Or maybe a promo code?”
“They don’t have promo codes for something that cheap,” Summer says.
“I was a prize last night, assholes,” Ransom says, flipping them the bird.
“I bet you were a prize. Like the kind at the bottom of a cereal box,” Oliver teases.
I don’t know what’s inside my story. But I’d like to keep turning the pages.
