A sexy new friends-to-lovers standalone!Let me list the reasons why dating the sexy, charming pro hockey star is a bad idea:1. He’s one of my closest friends2. All our friends are friends3. The wounds I’ve got from past relationships go deep. And so do his. We’re both devoutly single — it’s just safer for the heart that way. But there’s no reason not to bid on the gorgeous, clever athlete at the … the gorgeous, clever athlete at the charity auction this weekend. If I win, it’ll be a “friendsdate.”
And I do win.
I win him big.
And hard.
And all night long.
The trouble is . . . what happens in the morning?
Thanks For Last Night is a standalone romance in The Guy Who Got Away series. The other titles are Dear Sexy Ex-Boyfriend and The What If Guy.

Thanks for Last Night was a true delight to read. It’s the kind of book that sucks you right in and gives you true joy while reading it. It’s funny, sweet, sexy and so much fun! Amazing characters and a fabulous storyline make this book a must-read.
First and foremost, thank you Lauren Blakely for bringing Ransom into my life! I fell head-over-heels for this sexy, funny, teddy-bear of a hockey player and you will, too! There was something about him that drew me in from the start. This macho athlete has one of the best qualities of all….he’s a total softy! Underneath all of that muscle and brawn is a big teddy bear! He’s completely swoon-worthy and Teagan is one lucky gal! I love how dedicated he is to his friends and his family. He really will do anything to help any of them! Teagan is witty and sweet and someone I’d want as my best friend. She’s a go-getter and is super generous and loyal. I loved the easy, witty banter these two shared. Their friendship with its undertone of sexual tension was so fun to explore. Nothing about them was difficult and that’s what I loved about their relationship. These friends-to-lovers were definitely meant for one another!
Blakely thrills her readers with multiple POV’s in this book. Huge milestones happen for the characters from the entire The Guys Who Got Away series and I loved everything about that! I always love catching up with my favorite characters and Blakely gives this to us in spades! (**Note…this book can definitely be read as a standalone but the stories and characters are interconnected so reading the books in order is definitely something I would recommend.) There were also a few new characters who I really hope we get more of (no spoilers though from me!). Thanks For Last Night moves at a fast clip and is an easy, quick read. Engaging characters, witty banter, and the bedroom shenanigans you’ve come to expect from this standout author make for the perfect story. Don’t miss it! 5 stars
Thanks for Last Night by Lauren Blakely
Ransom and Teagan are the last two singles standing in their group of friends but as much as their friends are tripping over themselves to get them two together, Ransom and Teagan are just as determined to maintain the status quo. While they both feel more than a mild attraction to the other, they value their friendship and the dynamic of the whole group too much to risk it on just one night, which they both know is all it could ever be between them. Which is all well and good until Ramson asks Teagan to bid on him at a charity fundraiser and then all bets are off.
This book had all the sparks and banter and chemistry Blakely’s books consistently deliver and Ransom and Teagan letting go and just falling for each other was a wonderful escape. As always, I enjoyed getting intel into the lives of characters we’d previously met but I do wish we’d gotten a bit more of Ransom and Teagan instead. Having said that, the extra special epilogue truly was extra special!
*I voluntarily read an early copy of this book.

Thanks For Last Night by Lauren Blakely takes us back to her The Guys Who Got Away series and I loved it! Ransom and Teagan are friends who share friends. They like each other, but as friends only, right? Each carries baggage from their past relationships and swear they are not looking for anything serious. And yet they share an easy banter with each other and I just loved watching them fall.
When Ransom is part of a bachelor auction, Teagan believes she can bid on him and keep things friendly. But when things begin heating up, too much is on the line to take a risk. But neither can deny how things have changed between them. Thanks For Last Night by Lauren Blakely was a fun read with great characters and a story I loved.

Happy reading!
Thanks for Last Night is the third book in The Guys Who Got Away series by the talented Lauren Blakely! It can be read as a standalone, but you should read all the books in the series since they are all awesome! This is Ransom and Teagan’s story! They are just friends. Right? Yes, right. Until Ransom needs a favor and Teagan is just the right woman for the job. He’s in a bachelor auction and he wants to win, so he asks Teagan to bid on him. It’s just friendly. A friendly bid, a friendly date. But when a real kiss at the end of the auction turns their friendliness into lust, it’s on! They can’t keep their hands off each other and it’ll just be one night. Then they can go back to just being friends. If they date for real and it goes bad, she can’t risk losing the only family she has, their group of friends. Ransom always wanted her, but they have always been just friends. All their happily coupled up friends have been trying to push them together. Now that he’s has a taste of her, he’s not sure he can go back to being just friends. She’s just too sexy, pretty, smart, fun. He wants her to be his. Will Ransom and Teagan take the risk that their friendship can lead them to forever? I loved this story! It’s sweet, sexy, fast paced and full of fun, lust, and friendship. It was great to see the other characters from the series and meet a few new ones. I loved the bonus at the end too!
Audio: Zachary and Andi are fantastic as always. They just have the ability to become the characters and I enjoyed listening to them be Ransom and Teagan!
I have been waiting for Ransom’s book for what feels like forever and it was so worth the wait! I loved this friends to lovers story. Ransom and Teagan were perfect together. I love their banter and their friendship. I also loved their friendship with the others in their group. This book and this series are great and I definitely recommend them!
I absolutely loved this friends to lovers romance.
Teagan and Ransom have been great friends to their group and to each other. I honestly couldn’t blame them for their hesitation to risk that friendship. Especially after learning both their histories with relationships. But watching them take that chance was so sweet and heartwarming. It was well written with this easy flow that made it seem so natural how they came together.
This story as a whole was funny, romantic, steamy and had the best ending.
I really enjoyed the mostly dual/alternating POVs. I don’t know how the story would have worked otherwise. I needed to see the story progress from both their view points. And the extras towards the end were amazing bonuses.
Overall this was just excellent and a story I would highly recommend.
4 stars!
Lauren Blakely is the queen of rom-com. I say this with every review but it bears repeating. Her writing fills me up with all the feels, a ton of laugh out loud banter between characters and super steamy bedroom scenes. Yet again she absolutely delivered on all accounts. This was a BEAUTIFUL friends to lovers story. Teagan and Ransom were the perfect match. I loved everything about them, flaws and all. Both are funny, and have a competitive nature with each other. I adored them. They are passion and driven and you could truly see the connection between right from the beginning. Even when they were just friends but as you learn more about them and they open up to the idea of a something more you see that their connection is so much more. It is deep and emotional. Sexy and fun. They challenge each other and test each other in the very best of ways. Each were apprehensive about committing long term due to past experiences but in the end they learn and grow with each other and it makes them that much stronger. I loved that.
One thing I adore about this series is the message of love and friendship in each and every book. I loved catching up with some of my favourite characters from previous books in the series but also knowing that all their friends are in happy committed relationships and the advice they are were able to offer was just the push they needed in the end.
Thanks for Last Night can be read as standalone but I recommend reading the books in order for the full reading experience.
**Thank you to Lauren Blakely and Candi Kane PR for providing me with an advanced reader copy in exchange of an honest review.
I loved Ransom and Teagan and their friends to lovers story. They have such a great report and friendship and there connection is sizzling…what happens when they decide to give in to their connection for one night……you won’t be disappointed. I enjoy not only the connection between Ransom and Teagan but also the connection this group of friends have.
Loved Ransom and Teagan’s story!
Thanks for Last Night is the third book in the The Guy That Got Away series.
Teagan and Ransom are the last two singles in their group of friends and are constantly being pushed together by these friends hoping they see what they do. That they are perfect for each other.
Another amazing and quick paced friends to lovers romance with sizzling hot chemistry and amazing banter.
Lauren Blakely again gives us another amazing read!!
I know I have said this about a thousand times before, but Thanks for Last Night is definitely one of my favorite Lauren Blakely books. Ransom and Teagan were PERFECTION!!!!! I can’t take the chemistry between the two. They are both amazing. Ransom’s personality is just as beautiful as the cover of this book. He is NOT the guy we probably imagined. His passion for the causes he believes in is heartwarming. He is charismatic, athletic, and sexy as hell – even when he is being his cocky self he is humble. He wears his heart on his sleeve, especially when it comes to Teagan.
Teagan is the absolute perfect woman for Ransom. She is also charismatic and so much fun to be with. Teagan has been dealt a hard card/s in life. On the surface it may seem like her life is perfect, but she has endured tragic losses. Throughout it all, she has persevered. She is so fucking bad ass.
Every interaction between Ransom and Teagan throughout this story marked a turning point in their relationship. Their witty banter, flirtatious conversations, innuendos, intimate and difficult moments radiated through the pages of the book making me feel every emotion along the way.
Every time I pick up a Lauren Blakely book I know that I am going to get so much more than one love story. She tends to sneak mini love stories or glimpses of all of the other amazing relationships that develop with secondary characters. This book was so prefect because….RANSOM and TEAGAN of course, but also because of Fitz and Dean and Logan and Bryn and Summer and Oliver and Tempest and Martinez.
I can’t wait to see what Lauren has in store next.
Light and fun, this friends to lovers story had me smiling throughout. The last two of their circle that are steadfast and single, it’s only natural that everyone wants them to test the waters.
I love that Teagan is confident and comfortable in her own skin and makes no apologies for how she chooses to live her life. The fact that Ransom is her male twin in that regard just means these two together are quite the match, be it in friendship or something more. I liked that each of them showed the other their vulnerable side, even when it means they see much more than they usually share with anyone.
I have a feeling we were just given a peek into who’s book is next, and I can’t wait.
Thanks for Last Night is the third book in The Guys Who Got Away series. It’s a friends to lovers between Teagan and Ransom, who you met in previous books. Their friends are all in the same group, and are all pushing them together. But, they are reluctant to start something with a close friend. They’ve also both been hurt before in past relationships, and are hesitant to start a new relationship. They agree to one night together, but that quickly turns into more.
I enjoyed these two characters a lot. Ransom was really easy to love. I especially loved his relationship with his sisters. Teagan was a surprise. She had a lot of intriguing layers that I hadn’t known about in previous books. All supporting characters added a lot to the storyline.
I’m not sure I would call it a standalone though. While the majority of the book is a standalone between Ransom and Teagan, the end gets really muddled. It all felt rushed. There are chapters from each main character in the previous books. If you haven’t read the other books, you’re going to be very confused. I have read them but it’s been awhile, and could have definitely used a refresher. Then, there’s also a random romantic short story about Ransom’s sister, Tempest. I would have loved a book on them instead of the way it came out at the end.
While I didn’t love the end, I genuinely enjoyed Teagan and Ransom’s story. This is a quick, entertaining friends to lovers and I would recommend it.
*I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
My heart’s being held for, I mean, by Ransom North! Okay, the men in Lauren Blakely’s The Guys Who Got Away series are seriously ah-mazing, but then that’s usually the case when it comes to this author’s male main characters. Whatever I may have thought of Ransom was blown to smithereens because he was SO much more than I already expected him to be from the bits and pieces I saw of him in the previous books. If you read A Guy Walks into My Bar, then you’ll know that Ransom is paired up with Teagan King, who just happens to be the queen of comebacks. Their romance is sweet and sexy and loads of fun. Oh, and did I forget to mention that there may or may not be a wee bit of a bonus story?!
Sometimes, we all need an angst-free read. Yes, I’m a self-confessed angst addict, and yes, I have said countless times that even a hint of angst in romantic comedies is a near necessity for me. Well, there are always those rare exceptions to almost any rule, and Lauren Blakely’s rom-coms are one of those very exceptions. That’s not to say that her rom-coms don’t have any angst at all since some actually do have a pinch of angst in them. However, in the case of Ransom and Teagan’s story, well, there was none to be found, and I wasn’t even looking because I loved what I had in my hands regardless! I was smitten by these two and their story, as well as that bonus romance, and the chapters told from the viewpoints of a few other people. I always look forward to seeing who, besides the main characters, is going to speak up. Five stars go to Thanks for Last Night.
A funny light hearted friends to lovers romance that hits the spot perfectly. The last two single people in a large group of friends find themselves thrust together during an auction by their scheming friends. Neither wants to risk anything to upset the dynamics in their group or risk their hearts again so they settle for one night only. Except, as we all know, attraction has a way of making fools out of us all and their connection is too strong to ignore. It’s funny, it’s got some heat and their wills to train friends will be tested. Am easy read you won’t want to put down!
Another fabulous rom-com, friends-to-lovers story by Lauren Blakely. This book had some of the best banter I have ever read. Ransom and Teagan play off of each other in amazing ways. Add in the incredible chemistry and sexual tension between the two, and you have one hell of a romance.
Lauren’s heroes are always spectacular, so it’s no surprise that Ransom is book boyfriend perfection. Sexy, sweet, smart, fun, and not afraid of his emotions, Ransom stole my heart immediately.
Teagan is sassy and always up for a challenge, especially when it comes from Ransom.
I loved everything about this book.
Thanks for Last Night is an sweet friends to lovers story, which happens to be funny af.
Ransom and Teagan are the most adorable, funny and competitive single people in their group of friends, who are ever so happily in love.
With everyone around them in love, obviously they are trying to push the two together.
Both Ransom and Teagan have their own personal reasons for wanting to stay single. After a competitive bet for charity, Ransom and Teagan start wandering into uncharted yet familiar waters, and soon they need to figure out if their reasons are enough for staying single or if maybe they can change their mantras and find a bit of love
Ransom and Teagan are the holdout singles in their group of friends. The friends keep trying to get them together. Both Ransom and Teagan are resistant because they don’t want to upset the apple cart if things go bad. Plus they both have been soured by past relationships. But these two actually ARE well suited for each other! They have this fun and flirty vibe that draws you in! Their competitive streaks and their quick witted banter firmly plants you in the rooting for them to succeed column!
I loved this book! It flowed so well and realistically that I felt like one of their friends in the group-only the one who knows everything! Lol. I like how they “got together” and then how everything happened organically. It wasn’t a fast-paced speed the reader along, but more of how things would naturally move till the point of spill over. The characters are likeable and enjoyable to read about. Both are caring individuals-not only with each other, but with their friends as well as family. What they had to say mattered to them both.
This sexy and oh so sweet book ticks all the boxes! Enjoy!
For some time now Ransom and Teagan’s mutual friends have been looking for ways to hook them up, but they have their reservations about anything other than friendship, so they always pass when it’s brought up. Both being afraid that giving in to their attraction to one another could end terribly and instantly exclude them from their friend group, and neither of them wants that.
Then their friends come up with this brilliant idea for them to participate in a bachelor auction for charity, Ransom will be up for bid and Teagan of course is to bid on him and win a date with him, and save Ransom from having to go on a date with some crazed fan. Which all sounds good to them, until the night of… then things take an unexpected turn. What was supposed to be a friendly bet for charity, quickly turns to something a little steamier… something they have both craved in secret for some time now.
Thanks for Last Night was a steamy little affair that started out as a innocent friendly deed and quickly became something a little hotter. These two have been dodging their friends matchmaking plans for some time now, and have always found a good reason to avoid getting involved. But something happens the night of the auction, a shift between them starts to happen and suddenly they start to see that there might just be something there worth exploring. It starts off as just a little friends with benefits thing, but the more time they spend between the sheets together the more they realize they are actually good together. But before they can take their relationship to the next level they have to get over their fears about love… which proves to be quite tough for both of them! I really enjoyed this one, the words were engaging and good on the heart and the characters were easy to love and connect to. If you like light-hearted romances with bits of steam and comedy then I have no doubt this one will be a hit with you… it has all of that and more! Highly recommend!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.
5 Ransom is Full of Surprises Stars!!!
I’m full on 100% in love with Ransom North and let me tell you why….he’s a renaissance man in every way possible…it’s just hidden below the surface. It comes out when he’s talking about his family and friends and in causes that he believes in and supports. Not only was this a shock to me, but to Teagan as well. And given that they’re in the same group of friends that spend a lot of time together, seeing each other outside of their friends was eye opening! This is one of the many reasons that I love and adore Lauren Blakely’s writing. She continually manages to surprise me in the best ways with her Heroes and Heroines!
We got a small glimpse of Ransom in AGWITMB and I had a slight crush on him but now it’s full blown love and for all the reasons you might suspect, but when he convinces Teagan to bid and win him at an auction so that not only does he make a sizeable donation to the charity involved, and in effect beat his friends too, he also gets to show a different layer of himself to the woman that’s been a friend but that he’d like to get to know a whole lot better. And while she’s really only interested in potentially hooking up with this man without running their friendship, because who has time for a relationship these days….her mind begins to change the more she gets to know him on a more intimate level.
Teagan is a woman that knows what she wants and isn’t stopping until she reaches her goals, but in no way was having a relationship with a super hot and sexy hockey player in those plans…but as we all know fate generally has other plans for use. I loved seeing their friendship blossom into a deep and abiding love. Along the way, there’s laughs and sexy times that are OOH LA LA HOT but there’s secrets they both share and being on the inside of this burgeoning romance was so much fun!!
Not only did I love reading this story, but I got to listen to it as well with the fabulous Andi Arndt and Zachary Webber narrating. I love both of them individually but together they’ve created magic with this story. I love how they play off each other and really bring the characters to life. I could actually picture Ransom with the way Zachary Webber played him….young, competitive and brash, but smart and sensitive! And Teagan with her sassy, creative and caring self was voiced so perfectly by Andi. I love how she becomes the characters she plays.
This book is a wonderful addition to The Guy that Got Away series. I not only found two more characters that I can’t get enough of, but with we also get glimpses of so many other characters from the first two books which leaves me with a perpetual smile on my face and in my heart!!!
Thanks for Last Night is an entertaining, easy to read story that was really what I needed. Ransom and Teagan have quite the friendship. Witty banter, supportive and great friends too. When Teagan bids on an auction for a date with Ransom for charity, needless to say fun abounds in the aftermath.
Will these two friends cross a line to more. Sometimes it takes others to tell you what they see. However both their past exes have put quite the dampener on becoming more with someone. Will they make the move?
This book was really a joy to read and I loved the direction it went. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Cant wait for more stories from the author.
