Thankful in Good Hope by Cindy Kirk is a winner!
Can a lustful chance encounter and instant connection turn into love? You bet. But not without struggles along the way. Kirk paints a fairy tale of love at first sight that is bound to be sustainable, especially with the help from family and familiar friends in the sweet town of Good Hope. But as always, wrenches are thrown into the blissful mix. And Trinity and Ryder are put to the test of overcoming past events that formed their views of the world. As usual, Kirk comes through with a powerful, sensual story about friendship, family, and love.
I was given an ARC of this book for an honest review.
Thankful in Good Hope is another home run for Cindy Kirk! Trinity and Ryder have a beautiful love story. I’m a sucker for books with kids in them so Zoe was a welcome addition.
Even though I shouldn’t be surprised, I always am by the quality of Ms Kirk’s writing. She has built the town of Good Hope so well that I’m not sure if it’s actually fiction. I know one thing is for sure, I want to live in Good Hope and have my own happily ever after.
I received an advance reader copy from the publisher and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
Good Hope is full of wonderful characters & I enjoy every visit. I love the fact that Ms. Kirk gives updates on past characters lives. Good Hope comes across as a typical small town with everyone knowing & being up in your business. They also give total support to each other, no matter what.
Trinity & Ryder had a one night stand with no intention of seeing each other again. It’s hard to say who was more surprised when they saw each other across a crowded bar – Trinity, who was in town applying for a job & visiting her foster brother, or Ryder, who lives there & owns the Daily Grind, the local coffee shop. When Trinity ends up accepting the job, they are both happy to start spending time together, which of course attracts the attention of Gladys & her crew of busy bodies. Just as things are getting serious, Ryder finds out an old girlfriend has died & left him the surviving parent of a young girl. Can Ryder & Trinity’s relationship survive this news?
This was another emotional story with several perpendicular plots. First is Ryder & Trinity’s relationship & their conflicts. Second is Ryder connecting with his surprise daughter & developing a relationship there. Third is between Ryder & his former girlfriend’s father. Ryder was privy to a secret regarding the man & he was determined to keep him away from his daughter. The key to this entire story is secrets & knowing when & to whom you can be honest with. I enjoyed this story & cant wait to see who’s story is next!
Love my visits to Good Hope, and this is no exception. Trinty has arrived to be with her brother when she runs into Ryder, a one night stand from Chicago, who so happens to own the local coffee shop. Their romance continues hot and heavy until Ryder gets a call that he has now gained custody of his eleven year old daughter that he knew nothing about. Trinty being a foster child herself, tries to bind with his daughter right away.
This is a wonderful written clean romance that has so much more, family and friends makes this wonderful community. This is part of a series but can be read as a stand alone. I read with my kindle unlimited.
Thankful in Good Hope is another wonderfully written story in the series but can also be read as a stand alone novel. Cindy Kirk has created a beautiful, fictional town and with each story it is like visiting with old friends and meeting new ones. This is Trinity and Ryder’s story of a chance encounter in Chicago, a reconnection in Good Hope that is challenged when Ryder discovers an unknown 11 year old daughter and the secrets to keep her safe. The connection and feelings between Ryder and Trinity are strong and evolving fast but previous experiences from Trinity’s past threaten to derail the relationship when lies are revealed. The story that follows is filled with an array of emotions and a cast of characters that will keep the reader entertained until the final chapter.
I received an advanced reader copy from the publisher but all thoughts and feelings are my own.
This novel focuses on Trinity McConnell (sister of Wyatt McConnell, featured in the previous Good Hope Novel), and Ryder Goodhue, a local businessman who owns the Daily Grind coffee shop. Trinity and Ryan had a one-night stand at O’Hare airport. During their brief time together, their mutual connection to Good Hope is not mentioned. One month later, Trinity arrives in Good Hope to see her brother on election day and runs into Ryder at the post-election celebration.
The attraction remains between the two, and both plan to pursue the relationship. Trinity is a psychologist and is in Good Hope not only to visit her brother but also to join a clinic run by a psychologist she went to school with. Because of Trinity’s experiences growing up in the foster care system, she is wary of relationships and has trouble trusting other people.
What throws a monkey wrench in the Trinity-Ryder developing relationship is a notification that Jenna, an old friend of Ryan who lives in Oregon, has died, and named Ryder as the father of eleven-year-old Zoe. Jenna and Ryder dated their freshman year at Stanford, but then Jenna transferred to another college. Ryder visited Jenna whenever he visited the west coast. Jenna had never told Ryder about the existence of Zoe. Because of the time interval between Zoe’s birth and Ryder’s visits with Jenna, Ryder realizes that he cannot be the biological father of Zoe. However, because Jenna’s father also wants Zoe, Ryder takes Zoe back to Good Hope. Ryder keeps the secret about he not being Zoe’s father from everyone, except his lawyer. Trinity realized something is off, but Ryder won’t confide in her. Given her trust issues, Trinity disengages from Ryder. Can Trinity and Ryder work through their issues, and will Zoe stay with Ryder?
Cindy Kirk’s Good Hope novels often delve what it means to be a family, often with half-siblings and step-parents. This novel takes an extreme family type, in which the child has no genetic relationship with her father (which the father knows), but she is recognized as his genetic daughter, based on her birth certificate. As exemplified in this novel, the parent-child bond is greater than mere genetics. This novel is a wonderful story about different types of love, romantic love between a man and a woman, as well as the love between a parent and child, and the steps a parent will take to protect that child. This novel does an excellent job of making these issues real and accessible.

A stormy night, cancelled flights, dinner and instant connection were the beginning of the journey of Trinity and Ryder in book 10 of this series. While it’s not necessary to have read that prior to this book, it had me longing for them to reconnect after I put that book down. I was given an ARC to review this book and my opinion is completely my own.
Cindy Kirk has brought us back to the sweet small town filled with family, friends, and love. It also contains some secrets and a visiting villain. It makes you wonder just how far you would go to protect someone.
I love reading about the characters in Good Hope, I think Trinity and Rider are amazing. This is a great book with a lovely, romantic story. I love catching up on everyone else and see how and what they are doing now. This is my favorite series so far and I love every book. I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from the publisher and am voluntarily reviewing it.
I am very glad to be back in good hope, might sound strange but miss finding out about this little town between books.
To be honest at first I wasn’t sure what I was going to think of this story, Ryder had only been mentioned a little and Trinity was a new character.
When I first started reading this story I wondered where it was going as seem like it was going to be a straight up no issue romance as wasn’t sure where the story was leaving until the restaurant and it started to make sense. I liked that it covered a few issues and how great non biological parents can be.
I loved that it brought in old (original) characters that I love. I hope the twins get story with Zoe and Brynn. These are the stories I can’tt wait for and Raven, Dakota and her brothers. I know they younger now but i feel like we know them so much from the first book onwards. I hope Ethan and Clay have their own books soon. Hopefully Oakley and Ethan
Thanks again for another amazing good hope story!

This story is about Wyatt’s sister Trinity McConnell and Ryder Goodhue. Trinity is visiting Good Hope for two reasons to get a job and to celebrate his brother’s engagement to the new Good Hope’s Mayor Greer. At the beginning of this story is where everything takes off as she notices this man that she remembers seeing once before or should I say spent one night with. They parted ways and they never thought they would meet again especially in a small part of the world which was Good Hope. Well they were delighted to see each other that they did it again, but this time neither of them were leaving town, so it worked out for them or did it? Note that at the beginning of the story Gladys, Oaklee and the rest of the women are targeting their next couple/victims. It is a hoot especially as the youngest of this team is Oaklee but she is one to bring the joy to these women and their shenanigans that they plan.
The story does take a turn as someone new is expected to be cared by Ryder and Trinity is pleased to help but then there is someone that change the plans that they both are setting out. What will happen with them all including the newcomer, Zoe?

I just love these characters – they are more real than some of the flesh-and-blood people I know. They have flaws, they have good characteristics, they have not-so-great characteristics. What I love the most are their hearts, which always seem to be in the right place. Even when they are making choices some people would not agree with, they are making them for honorable reasons. Cindy’s characters are often faced with situations that are absolute nightmares, and they usually find a way to deal with them by holding true to what they know to be right. I wish we all could say the same. I love this book. Cindy always manages to make my heart happy with your stories. I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I’ve now taken many mental visits to “Good Hope” thanks to receiving several Advanced Reader Copied to voluntary review. And this new story did not disappoint. I love the slower pace and connections one finds in New Hope and seeing the community embrace and encourage the instant family of Ryder, Trinity and Zoe was truly heartwarming. As I side note I’m a Gilmore Girl fan so I was quite amused with those references throughout the story.
Trinity McConnell and Ryder Goodhue’s story is a powerful story of compassion. Cindy Kirk’s choice to write about child abuse and the way she crafted this piece of the storyline drew me into this novel. The writing is fantastic and I could not put the book down.
Trinity and Ryder were introduced in Sparks Fly in Good Hope. They met and had a brief affair. Months later, they meet at an election party in Good Hope. Trinity sees Ryder across the bar and walks over to talk to him. The couple has an intense connection—and this is noted by Gladys and Oaklee, two of the town’s matchmakers—and spend the night together.
The couple’s romance is interrupted when Ryder learns that his friend Jenna has died. He is shocked to learn that she has a daughter, he has been named as her guardian….and that Ryder’s name is listed on Zoe’s birth certificate. Ryder is put in a difficult position and he keeps a secret to himself.
I loved the plot choices that Cindy Cook made in this story. As a reader-I was torn. Trinity and Ryder faced many difficult situations in the novel. Trinity understood Ryder’s decision to bring Zoe to Good hope. After her mother died, she spent time in foster care—Trinity emphasized and showed compassion towards her. Zoe becomes Ryder’s priority and the secret he’s keeping is in danger of being revealed. Could the secret tear the couple apart?
Thankful in Good Hope is the perfect book to read as the holidays approach. The characters and their journey made me appreciate my family and friends who share our table during the holidays. Thankful in Good Hope features many of my favorite characters and the storyline presents a serious issue in a thoughtful, relatable way. The novel is filled with compassion, love, hope and forgiveness.
Cindy Kirk’s engaging characters and their journeys make each of the Good Hope novels unique. The author balances love, family and drama in each story. I can’t wait for the next book in the series!
Trinity and Ryder met while on a layover in Chicago. Their attraction was immediate, but they both had separate lives and didn’t really expect to see each other again.
When Trinity goes to see about a job opportunity with Liam in Good Hope, she never expected to see Ryder. When they run into each other they pick up, right where they left off.
When things seem to be going smoothly, Ryder gets a phone call about a daughter he never knew about. He was friends with Jenna, but there had to be a reason that Jenna listed Ryder as the father. He’s determined to take care of his new daughter, and Trinity is able to help with the transition.
When it definitely rocks Trinity and Ryder’s budding relationship. Will they be able to work things out, and find a way that’s best for everyone?

The best yet!!! Oh I loved this book so much. Trinity and Ryder are such an awesome couple. Their story is amazing. The heat jumps off the pages and the love is so genuine. I could not put it down until I finished it.
Good Hope is my favorite place to visit. I always enjoy visiting and catching up with the people who live here. Zoe and Trinity are both new to Good Hope but will sure be two characters I look forward to seeing in future books. I was given an advanced readers copy by the publisher of this book and written an honest review. Romance and true love at its best!
THANKFUL IN GOOD HOPE is another well written addition to Cindy Kirk’s Good Hope series. The well developed cast of characters always has someone on the fringes who deserves their own romance. Ryder is no exception. Serendipity seems to have brought Trinity to Good Hope. Not only is she closer to her brother and able to find a great job with an old friend, she reconnects with the one man who totally captivated her with his passion, Ryder. Can their passion develop into love that surmount all of the obstacles they face? I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author and I am willingly offering this review.
An emotional journey of Ryder, Trinity and Zoe. Ryder and Trinity just start dating when he finds himself with custody of a daughter he disnt know he had. Trinity backs off wanting to give Ryder and Zoe time to bond but Ryder wants it all. They have to work through secrets that could destroy to become a family.
I absolutely loved this book! From page one I couldn’t put it down. When Trinity and Ryder unexpectedly run into each other, in his small little town, it doesn’t take them long to reconnect and for their relationship to blossom. The unexpected turn their relationship took when Ryder discovered he was a dad, kept me intrigued and hopeful they could work things out. Trinity was faced with a difficult decision and her own past relationship kept her struggling to know what was best. Despite her hesitation she quickly built a bond with Ryder’s daughter and the connection and love Trinity and Ryder have proves to be worth the fight. Thankful in Good Hope is one of my favorites in this series! I highly recommend this sweet love story! I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from the publisher and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
Another great installment of the Good Hope series. Trinity and Ryder met in the prior book when their plane was grounded in Chicago. They had a great night and parted ways. This book takes place one month later and Trinity is moving to Good Hope to start a new counseling job. She and Ryder see each other in a bar, and they take up where they left off. Everything in going swimmingly, until Ryder gets a call from a lawyer telling him he has a daughter whose mother just died. Of course, secrets and issues from the past threatens to drive them apart. I loved catching up with all of the characters from the past books, especially the meddling matchmakers. I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from the publisher and am voluntarily reviewing it.
Another great book by Cindy Kirk! This one kept me entertained, kept me reading, and made it really hard to put down. While this is part of the Good Hope series, it could be read alone as she does a great job of introducing each of the characters and a little bit of their background. I’m sure if you read this book, you’d want to read all the others!
I received an ARC from the author, but this review is all my own!
