Showed the plight of those living during the taming of the West. Disease, lack of food and supplies, needless killing of buffalo, unfair treatment of Indians plus love and devotion coupled with faith in God.
I love Historical fiction. This was so fun to see the time progression with the firm foundation of Jesus.
Loved her use of vivid figuration language.
I enjoyed the book
This is a good example of strong women who seek the Lord even though the path chosen for them is a tough one.
I just started this book and it is captivating. I can hardly put it down.
I am reading this now but I am enjoying it . I love books that have a little history about how people lived in mid to l
Good historical stories
This book is a Christian western women book. It explores the life of three different women in early Texas and Oklahoma in the late 1800’s. When things were tough for women especially those who were independent thinkers. I could imagine me being like them if I was born back then As I was reading this, I found I was wanting to know more about these women and what happen to them as their life continues. I will read the next in the series, The River Girls Christmas’.
Clean Christian books.
I love the bold Christian statements and frequent Scripture references. What dramatic changes in the lives of each character as they come to know and trust God are realistic and inspirational.
I am currently in a masters degree program, so fun reading does not happen as often as it used to for me. This is my go to fun read. I am on the second story. It makes history come alive.
great depiction of the time
looking forward to reading more of Angela Castillo’s books
This is a fun series to read – strong female characters that are easy to relate to and interesting to see how their lives unfold.
Excellent read. Great storyline
Overall the books are well written, however, after the first book they are fairly predictable. Although they are historical fiction I learned little about history while reading these books. I finished all three, but they were not “page-turners”.
