In James Patterson’s white-hot Western thriller, a Texas Ranger fights for his life, his freedom, and the town he loves as he investigates his ex-wife’s murder. Across the ranchlands and cities of his home state, Rory Yates’s discipline and law-enforcement skills have carried him far: from local highway patrolman to the honorable rank of Texas Ranger. He arrives in his hometown to find a … his hometown to find a horrifying crime scene and a scathing accusation: he is named a suspect in the murder of his ex-wife, Anne, a devoted teacher whose only controversial act was ending her marriage to a Ranger.
In search of the killer, Yates plunges into the inferno of the most twisted and violent minds he’s ever encountered, vowing to never surrender. That code just might bring him out alive.

Pattersons books are usually good but this one is exceptional! If you like a good read to sit back and enjoy this is it.
Not one of Patterson’s better books. Read it if you want to say you’ve read all of his books.
Not up to par, almost juvenile in its writing. Fast read though. Easy to figure out.
I love just about anything written by James Patterson. The charactyers in this book seemed real and interesting. Patterson’s books always entertain but they are also easy to read and I like it that the chapters are usually short.
This was a great book, could hardly put it down.
I thought this book was ok. But did not really seem like other James Patterson books. Don’t know that this needs to start a new series.
