If you’re Dr. Turner McBride you set out to prove that the two of you would be perfect together. After betrayal and a failed marriage, Charlie Stockton returns to Last Stand, Texas, to run her bakery and avoid commitment. She’s delighted to resume her long-time friendship with … friendship with far-too-sexy Turner – but no way is she ready or able to trust her heart again. Although she might be tempted into an affair, Charlie’s convinced their friendship is too important to risk losing by taking it to another level.
It will take all Turner’s determination and an unexpected wake up call to prove to Charlie that risking her heart will be well worth the gamble.

Ending lacked grace, too abrupt.
Turner seemed to be thoughtful and committed to loving Charlie and helping with her issues; but the sudden personality change and anger didn’t seem to flow with me. I found myself frustrated with the storyline and paging through the sex scenes. I finished the book but not so sure that I will look for another book by the author.
It did have some steamy parts which I skipped over
Back to Last Stand, Texas.
What I liked:
The writing style
Most of the characters
Part of a series: Heart of Texas
Standalone
HEA
I look forward to reading the next book in this series.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC from NetGalley.
