The second book in the Texas Legacy series a well written story that kept me turning pages. I want to read all this series. Olivia Torres aids Cade Barret when he comes seeking help after he has been hurt by the Mexicans. He is trying to get back what is his. This deals with the Santa Anna war. There is suspense, drama, danger, twists, turns, and romance. I would recommend this book.
Cade Barret is a former law man bent on seeking revenge for the death of his family. Olivia Torres is a strong willed, stubborn, independent woman who has suffered a few tragedies in her life. She believes she can never be loved, or even give love to a man. One night changed both their lives. This is a wonderful historical romance set around the fall of the Alamo. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat!
Loved this story and love this author. Can’t wait to read more of her stories.
Sweet and tender love story. CaptivAting female character. Unselfish and brave spirit that makes you cheer for her all the way through the story.
Good read
Ok
This was a wonderful story of two damaged people opening up to each other and trying to get over past trauma and move forward.
There were parts that made me uncomfortable, such as the sex and nudity. Overall I liked this book.
Very interesting western with an unusual storyline. I read it from beginning to end in one day.
Good read, very entertaining!
I enjoyed all the history about the Alamo in the story. It was a very sad time but something we should study. An excellent read.
A woman who considers herself unmarriageable meets a man severely injured during the fighting before the Alamo. A great story of people with pasts they struggle with but great historical facts about the time of Texas gaining freedom from Mexico. So many moments that could have really happened. Very good story.
Historical information great if it is accurate. Probably not a realistic heroine!
I did not enjoy reading this book. In fact, I only got about halfway through before I deleted it from my device. The plot follows the events of the fall of the Alamo and the fight for Texas. A family takes in a Texiano soldier who was severely wounded. One of the grown daughters falls in love with him (within days of meeting him) and the two share their horrific personal accounts with the war. The events in this book made me sick to my stomach, including the vivid description of two attempted rapes and sexual assaults of female characters. The author also described a sex scene in great detail, that I felt was unnecessary. I was disappointed that I wasted time waiting for this book to improve.
Good book with some Texas history.
The first read and I was hooked.
I enjoyed this book. Very exciting
Great book. Made me want to read others in the series.
I didn’t like this book that much at first. The writing improved and I didn’t want the book to end.
nice story, happy ending
