My family has secrets. I’m always the good girl, doing what’s necessary to keep my loved ones safe. I’ve kept the darkest secrets from everyone I know. As painful as it is to hold them all inside where they live and gnaw away at me, that’s where they must stay.I haven’t seen my closest childhood friend, Christian Bear, since I was a teenager—he hasn’t changed a bit. He’s still temperamental and … temperamental and plays by his own rules with the law following two steps behind him.
Christian remembers me. But he doesn’t know the first thing about me anymore. I should’ve shared my feelings with him the day before I moved away with my family, promising him I’d stay in touch. It broke my heart when he didn’t keep his end of the bargain. As a consequence, we haven’t spoken in years. Even though Christian and I have always had undeniable chemistry, I won’t let him shatter my heart a second time.
Christian has shown up in my life again with secrets of his own, and demanding answers. That doesn’t mean I’m willing to give them. He’ll know my secrets when I’m ready.
Our secrets, the risks we’re taking, and the danger he imposes make it impossible to know what our future holds.
Either our tethered souls will bind back together, or our secrets will separate us forever.
Tethered Souls is the second spin-off novel from The Nine Minutes Trilogy. It can be read as a standalone, but would most likely be more enjoyable if read after Nine Minutes, Out of Time, and A Gift of Time. It contains major spoilers from the trilogy, and although not necessary, the reader might benefit by understanding the background stories of the main characters that are described in the series. There are many twists and turns in all my books that can best be connected if read consecutively.
RECOMMENDED FOR READERS 18 AND OLDER DUE TO STRONG LANGUAGE, SEXUAL SITUATIONS, AND VIOLENCE.

One soul recognizes its true mate. Some of us are lucky to find ‘The One’ and hold it in precious care for a lifetime. Some of us are lucky to find more than just ‘One’ to grace us with their presence in our lives. This story is about ‘The One’ you are luckily enough to meet as a child and later recognize the call of it’s twin never has faltered – just grown stronger.
I’ve been a fan of Beth Flynn’s storytelling. She has a unique voice that blends past with present that you feel the connections over time. Tethered Souls brings me back to how I fell in love with this voice. Nine Minutes has always remained my favorite – Iron Tiara runs a super close second. Christian and Mimi’s story brings me back to the draw I found in book 1. It was the connection of Kit and Grizz that leaped off the page and into my soul that has the HEA lover believe in union of ‘The One’. Ms Flynn once again has me believing in this pact beyond just love but soulmates in Christian and Mimi.
But beyond an unrequited love story of second chances, Beth Flynn brings in layers of storytelling where mystery shrouds even the smallest of events. All is never what it seems on the surface and has the reader turning the pages to learn more.
Can this be read as a standalone? Definitely. Not that I encourage the skipping of the Nine Minutes trilogy, but this story has it’s own feet to firmly stand upon. Whether or not you are a first time reader or long time fan, I highly recommend you pick up and devour this story today. 5 out of 5 stars
This story is so beautiful I’m not sure I can write and adequate review but I’ll try. This is a spin-off of the Nine Minutes Trilogy. It begins roughly five years after A Gift of Time. We go back and forth through Christian and Mimi’s lives.
Going in we know this is Christian and Mimi’s love story. They have a love so pure you can feel it. Beth manages to give us everything these two feel and everything they are. Neither of them are afraid to take life on head first. Christian’s has become a tortured young man that only Mimi can soothe. Mimi has her own struggle that Christian brings to the surface. There isn’t anything they won’t sacrifice for each other and it’s so obvious they are made to be together.
Their love is not without obstacles to overcome. It wouldn’t be a Beth Flynn book without obstacles, twists and turns, danger, and yes some pain. I am always left with the feeling of how does she do it, she creates a puzzle and some how weaves all the pieces together.
I loved getting caught up with all the old characters that I feel as though I know. Grizz is still Grizz but we wouldn’t want him any other way. I loved this book and I can’t wait for the next one!
I won this ARC and am delighted to give a fair and honest review.
I adored the story of Mimi and Christen it was an amazing story that I would read again. The love these 2 had hidden and all they went though. So amazing way to blend these 2 families. I could not wait to get my hands on this book.
Exceptional!
I’ve been wanting to read Mimi and Bear’s story ever since they were children!
The wait was so worth it!
It can be read as a standalone but reading the other books in the Nine Minutes series gives you a better perspective on the dynamics of the characters.
The author has once again outdone herself with flawlessly writing an intense and suspenseful story of secrets, and half truths. She masterfully demonstrated her versatility in capturing and telling Christian and Mimi’s story.
This story reveals the intricate wicked web of secrets and lies Mimi and Christian have been forced to accept.
What’s the point of learning the truth?
What will it lead to?
This book was impossible to put down, and when it ended I didn’t want to.
This slow burn coming of age story was gut wrenching, passionate and emotional. Appearances by former characters in the Nine Minutes series, had me falling in love with the story even more.
This read is worthy of all the stars, and it’s one of my top reads of 2018!
I absolutely loved Mimi and Christians story. I had such high hopes for these two and they didn’t disappoint me in anyway.
Christian is very much his father’s son. He doesn’t ask he just does what he wants. He’s always wanted Mimi and now he’s taking her as his own.
However Mimi is very much her father’s daughter too and isn’t a pushover. I loved Mimi this young girl has gone through a lot, keeping her family secrets has never been easy.
This was an intricately woven tale of young love and friendship that’s never wavered over the years, So when they reconnect it’s a beautiful thing. I was swept away with these two and I loved every minute of their journey.
The reasons I love Beth Flynn as a writer is that her stories never feel rushed or forced they just flow perfectly.
They’re all beautifully intertwined with real attention to the small details.
Her stories are passionate and heartfelt with a writing style that’s unforgettable and uniquely hers.
It took me awhile to get started on this but boy, did I regret it. As soon as I started this book, I couldn’t put it down. I stayed up all night reading it and I was pleasantly surprised to look up when I finished and the sun was up and the birds were chirping. Pleasantly, because it’s been awhile since I’ve been so consumed with a book, I lost track of reality.
This book can be read as a standalone, but if you’re like me & have been following the story since the Nine Minutes series, you’ll totally understand most of what happens and the background. I’ve been eagerly awaiting Christian and Mimi’s story since we first see them in the Gift of Time.
I loved this story. I loved watching Christian and Mimi’s love story evolve, or re-kindle. It’s a beautiful story that started from their childhood. And after Mimi and her family moves away and cuts contact to protect her family, Christian can’t handle losing her. Five years later, he’s tired of waiting and he’s ready to take back what’s his. Alpha assholes like Christian Bear have always been a soft spot for me, as was Grizz and Anthony Bear before him. I loved that he was violent, he was reckless & wild with a hot temper that couldn’t be contained, but when confronted with Mimi, he’s this soft, poetic man who’s not afraid to declare his love for her, all the while with a strict manner.
This couple goes through so much to be together, whether it be from their own doing or someone else’s. But I had faith in them, I knew they were going to make it. They’re tethered souls and there was nothing that could separate them. I got so emotional throughout this book, the characters were so beautifully written, the angst was painstakingly hurtful & the drama kept me on the edge of my seat. I also loved seeing all our favorite characters, and the twists in this book never seemed to end.
Totally recommend this to anyone who loves a rough love story. It’s not perfect but it’ll reach right into your soul and leave you breathless. It’s jam-packed with bikers, stalkers, kidnappings, crazy exes, sex & twists like you wouldn’t believe.Beth Flynn
Tethered Souls was one of the most anticipated books of 2018 for me! I have read all the previous books by the amazing Beth Flynn, The Nine Minutes Trilogy and The Iron Tiara, and I loved the world she created of outlaws and the women they love! So I couldn’t wait to read about their children, Mimi and Christian and their unique love. Mimi has many secrets because she wants to protect her family and for their sake she will do anything, even leave the boy she loved all her life behind. She promises to keep in touch but after years of being apart and having no communication, she loses all hope and decides to forget, or so she convinces herself. Christian always new that his soul was tethered to Mimi’s and even though he thinks she never kept her promise, he can’t take her out of his mind and decides to claim her! Will their souls heal and can they overcome the lies and misunderstandings? Their love is unpredictable, and there are revelations but also some new twists. Some people, like Mimi and Christian are lucky because they find their soulmate! I can’t wait for Beth Flynn’s next books!
4.5 “The Three Bears” stars
A beautiful story of a Bad Boy looking for an excuse to be good
This is Christian Bear, who’s been “married” to Miriam “Mimi” Hunter since they were 5 & 6. They are Tethered Souls, with invisible bonds so strong, only they both can feel it, ruining them for others.
“I knew when we were children that our souls were tethered. I know you felt it too, but you lost it or forgot it somewhere along the way.”
“Our souls have been tethered, and she’s always belonged to me”.
Beth writes like an old soul. Her stories are biographical narratives, mostly in first person, yet it seems like third person recountal. Historical and anecdotal in feel, she manages to build scenes that come alive on her pages like 3D holograms. It’s no secret her spellbinding stories have created Phoenixlike characters, Grizz & Ginny “Kit”, Tommy Dillon, Anthony Bear, Christy “Owani” Bear, and now Christian and Mimi. There’s a common trait that runs through all her character sketches. They all love severely, enough to kill and die for their soul mates, protect them from beyond the grave and sometimes resurrect themselves. The old school MC club is ready to pass the Baton to the younger generation and in this story the young’uns prove that Apples do really fall right next to the trees.
My mother once told me that you could take a man off the street, but you couldn’t take the street out of the man when that was all he’d ever known. He was no longer the leader of a motorcycle club. But he was still a leader who took charge of situations nobody else wanted to address.
History has a crazy way of repeating itself and Nature trumps Nurture, at least in Florida Everglades !
What starts as a simple happenstance meeting at the Pine Creek gas station soon turns scarily into abduction for the simple reason that Christian never asks; he takes what he wants.
The ensuing saga unfolds with remarkable twists and turns, secrets’ covers get blown open and like Pandora’s Box, the worms come crawling out.
Lots and lots of details, camouflaged lifestyles and “Ghostly” encounters later, the wrinkles in the storysheets gets smoothed out.
I loved the beginning, the middle and the end, it’s the last 20% that some things seemed a bit too staged and unbelievable to me, hence the lack of half star. Omnipotence is exaggerated and power plays are theatrical, but that’s just my opinion. At the end of the day, a Beth Flynn book is a phenomenal and expansive story, not to be missed under any circumstances.
Some of the most memorable scenes and dialogues you’ll read here that’ll stay with you forever !
5 Kiwi Diet Stars!!!
To say I’ve been waiting for Christian and Mimi’s story would be an understatement. I’ve been stalking for this release…Refreshing the kindle non-stop. I knew their story would be a whirl wind!!! One full of secrets being revealed, hearts being broken, but best of all their story…
One that deserved to be told…
From that first day on the playground when vows were exchanged, these two have been Tethered Souls . The invisible string that tied their hearts together. One can not break the string if one can not see it. It’s embedded deep inside their hearts bonding them together.
But as life happens, so does separation. These two were forced apart, miles and miles drove their lives in different directions. But that string…It was always there…
They say that ‘apples don’t fall far from the tree’…
Christian is heading towards self destruction… Mimi is just about to graduate from college…
The apple falls…
What a STORY!!! Beth Flynn has certainly outdone herself with this Spin-off, Standalone story. One that has opened my eyes on eating disorders, Bullying, Racial profiling, Religious beliefs and much, much more. All perfectly woven into a story that was a page turner from the very first page!!!

4*
Mimi and Christian had grown up with each other, both parents belonged to biker gangs.
After the death of Mimi’s father her mother moved the family with her boyfriend and the contact stopped.
Christian has always been the one to favour his father but is finding trouble too frequently.
Stumbling across an unexpected photo has him making a plans.
Mimi has settled well but doesn’t feel complete not sure what is missing is leaving her slightly confused.
I’ve loved reading the previous books and this definitely doesn’t disappoint. I’ve already downloaded the next book.
Beth Flynn Knocked This One Out Of The Park
In the interest of full disclosure, I may or may not have a slight obsession with Beth Flynn’s Nine Minutes series…Grizz has been my favorite character since the first time I read Nine Minutes…He may be the most brutal, ruthless character I’ve ever read…..and Anthony Bear is a close second…One thing I love about this series is, as rough as these bikers are, they are sweet and romantic and do not cheat when they find their person…
I love Grizz and Kit….I love Anthony and Christy…And Tethered Souls is the story of Grizz and Kit’s daughter, MiMi and Christian Bear, Christy and Anthony Bear’s son…Grizz’s daughter and Bear’s son are pure 1%er MC royalty….and are treated as such…..
MiMi is graduating from college and being Grizz’s daughter, she’s not afraid of anything….,….After some week-long plans are 86ed, MiMi “runs into” Christian, her best friend since childhood…who she hasn’t seen in 5 years….Christian is not there by accident…Christian has come to take MiMi…..for himself…whether she wants to go or not….This is not a big deal…well…except to Grizz…but it’s pretty standard for this group…It’s a whole real-alpha-men-abduct-their-women type thing, they have going on…
Christian Bear is an alpha….Christian Bear doesn’t ask…Christian Bear takes what he wants…and Christian Bear wants MiMi Dillon Hunter…
Tethered Souls is another excellent addition to the Nine Minutes umbrella….And you won’t see Ghost coming….
3.5 Tethered Stars!
The chemistry and history between Christian and Mimi is undeniable. The way they compliment each other says it all; Christian needs Mimi to stay somewhat sane, while Mimi needs Christian to be herself, and to stop hiding behind years worth of lies. I enjoyed this read, and look forward to reading more of Beth Flynn’s work.
Yet another amazing book in this series that makes you keep coming back hungry for what will come next!!
My lord, this lady and her books… I don’t know what it is… It always takes me several days to finish her books. On one side of the spectrum, I’m just ready to be done… But at the same time, I don’t want it to end because I’ve gotten soo attached to these characters and this world. The Nine Minutes trilogy is one of my all time favorite series. Beth Flynn is also one of my absolute favorite authors; as I say in every review, I LOVE her writing. It literally makes me feel like I’m inside the story and it’s playing out right in front of me. She makes sure everything is described so nothing is left out to question. I just can’t when it comes to her books…
I love how well she plays with our emotions… Not only are we meeting Mimi when she’s older and what has gone on so far in her life… As well as Christian… But this deals with some serious issues that thousands deal with daily.
Christian and Mimi are adorable – they’ve been friends since childhood and these are some of my absolute kinds of romances. I loved this book. I love this series. I love Beth Flynn. Go read Tethered Souls now. If you haven’t read Nine Minutes, go read it first… Read all 3 and The Iron Tiara, THEN read Tethered Souls.
Another phenomenal story by Beth Flynn! Christian and Mimi’s story does not disappoint, so many stories weaves into one. Grips you from the start and has you wondering until the end. As usual, bombs are dropped, twists and turns and a swoon worthy romance keeps you hooked until the end. You’ll want to savor this read. I highly recommend this book.
FINALLY – Christian and Mimi’s story!
What a beautiful love story! You can see Christian and Mimi’s connection all the way back to when they were young kids. When he was 17, they were both devastated when Mimi’s family moved out of state. It seemed like their love story had ended even before it even had a chance to begin. But somehow their connection remained. Maybe it was hidden beneath the surface but they never, ever forgot each other.
Christian is the perfect alpha male when it comes to Mimi and if you’ve read the Nine Minutes Trilogy and the Iron Tiara you will understand when I say he definitely followed in Grizz and Anthony Bear’s footsteps!
I didn’t expect but loved the way Beth detailed the time they spent together as kids. They were so cute together! It gave the feelings they had for each other as adults so much more depth and as a reader you could understand when and how those feelings were formed.
Of course there is so much more to this story that you won’t want to miss! We hear from our favorite characters from Beth’s other books and I can only hope that Slade gets a book next!
This is a 5 Star read for me. I absolutely loved it and so will you!
This can be read as a stand alone but I recommend that you read the Nine Minutes Trilogy and the Iron Tiara first.
“We’re tethered souls, and you’re back where you belong. Where you’ve always belonged.”
Reviews by the Wicked Reads Review Team
Shelby –
This can be read as a standalone, although I’d recommend reading all Beth Flynn’s works: The Nine Minutes Trilogy and The Iron Tiara, this will give you a deeper understanding of the characters, the scene, and emotions. I must start by saying I absolutely adore Beth Flynn’s stories, like fan-girl LOVE all her books. I was so excited for Mimi’s story, to read about the next generation. Tethered Souls did not disappoint!!
Mimi has settled into her new life away from Florida. She has found new friends, new family, but she’s never found love. She’s almost done with college but isn’t entirely sure what direction she wants to go.
Christian Bear has had a totally different go at life, freshly released from prison, he knows what and WHO he wants. He may be hot-headed, but only because he feels deeply. Not one to sit back and wait for good things to fall in his lap, Christian decides it’s time to take action.
I refuse to summarize the story, nor will I give anything away. I will say this story was refreshing and sweet, devastating and heartwarming, and the storytelling (as always) was absolutely phenomenal!
Reviewers on the Wicked Reads Review Team were provided a free copy of Tethered Souls by Beth Flynn to read and review.
Warning: Recommended for readers 18+ due to strong language, sexual content and violence.
What a fantastic book! I was totally captivated from the first page to the last.
Christian Bear is taking right after his father Anthony Bear and family friend Grizz. He takes what he wants and never asks. Christian has his eyes and heart set on Mimi Dillion-Hunter.
Mimi and Christian have been best friends since they were both small children, but their friendship takes a dive when Mimi and her family move away from Florida and the Bear family. Christian is on a mission to make Mini his, and only his, no matter what the consequences are.
This book contains lots of emotions (some good, some bad), lies, romance, twists and turns, family bonding, violence, and secrets! I also enjoyed that people from the past few books make appearances or are referenced (ex. Chicky) so we know what has happened to them and their families..I was also shocked to discover who “The Ghost” really is! Nope, did not see that one coming – total blindside!
I would most definitely recommend this series!!
