Watching Delilah being taken was a nightmare.
Living without her is an even bigger hell. Delilah isn’t Hyland’s property.
She belongs to me, body and soul.
I was beaten half to death when she was snatched away.
I may be in a hospital bed, but this isn’t over yet.
The story hasn’t even begun.
Hyland will pay for his sins.
For destroying my world.
I’ll bring Delilah back to where she always …
I’ll bring Delilah back to where she always belonged.
In my arms.
In my future.Tested is the third book in Dalton’s Tale and the final book in The Dark Necessities series. It’s a dark romantic thriller with a HEA.

Outstanding!!!! The last book in this trilogy held me in it’s gripe until I finished the whole book!!! Ms. Brandon continues to impress me with her ability to drag me into the dark corners of my mind without making it so I couldn’t handle it! Her talent as an author is incredible and I find myself totally engaged in whatever book of hers I’m reading at the moment. Dalton is everything I wanted him to be, even though he is more on the dark side. Delilah is the perfect submissive for him. It was great to see Connor and Molly and to be able to catch up with what’s going on in their life. The last few chapters in this book had me holding my breath, wondering if everything was going to turn out good with them all. That last little bit with Saul though………………………………..now I NEED his story!!! If you haven’t read Dalton’s story, you need to start with the first book then the second. Otherwise you will be lost in reading this one. Luckily for everyone, all three books are now out so the readers can binge read. Out of all three trilogies, Dalton’s is my favorite!!! Go pick them up and see for yourself!
Breathe…That’s the mantra that kept running through my head as I read this; the entire book (the whole trilogy, really) left me breathless and sitting on the edge of my seat. I kept getting lost so deeply into the story that I would lose all sense of time and place. I don’t know how many times one of my family members actually had to tap me to get my attention while I was reading this one. I do know that it was more than a few, though. Then I sunk into a funk so deep that even my usual go-to fun reads couldn’t snap me out of it. I am constantly just reliving the story in my mind, all day every day. It is going to be one of those that sticks with me for a long time. It’s a dark romance, something Felicity Brandon is a master at, but the romance, passion, emotional ups and downs, and that constant wondering of what’s going to happen next are the things that make the story stay with me. If you love emotionally charged stories that have complex characters, sizzling heat, and that feeling of everything being right in the world then this is one trilogy you can’t skip.
Absolutely an amazing end to this trilogy and the entire Reilly family saga. Dalton is my favourite of the family. The final book is full of danger while still sexy and the emotions run the gamut. The Syndicate is definitely a force to be reckoned with. I really didn’t want this to end.
I highly enjoyed this book and I think that Tested was a wonderful conclusion to the Dark Necessities trilogy, Dalton’s Tale. I could not stop reading this book and I was sorry to see it end. Felicity Brandon creates such amazing stories and compelling characters. I fell in love with Dalton and Delilah and all they went through to finally have their happy ever after.
A beautiful closing for this serie. Connor, Dalton, Molly and Delilah have been a treat to follow. To see the changes in all four, over time.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book
Wow this conclusion of the Dark Necessities trilogy was all consuming with so much excitement with danger you’ll have no nails left. The Reilly brothers along with Saul are a force like no other and boy get out of their way as they protect their mates their coming full force.
I loved loved this the writing is amazing and keeps you glued to the pages with character development that is outstanding it’s like an addiction you can’t quit. I can not wait for Saul he has my complete attention and interest.
Ms. Brandon has a distinctive style and is an excellent writer. Her books draw you in to her worlds. This series has been intense both in action and combustible chemistry, and this book was no different. Tested led me on a rollercoaster of emotions as I was on the figurative edge on my couch clicking my kindle pages as fast as I could read them to see what would come next for Dalton and Delilah. Ms. Brandon always surprises and never disappoints.
Wow what a way to end the Dark necessities series. It ends with Dalton and Delilahs story and what a story it is. It seems the Reilly brothers always knew how to find trouble and it seems with girls in their lives to protect it seemed to find them. These brothers would go to the ends of the earth for each other or the women in their lives and that will be put to the test.
This is an action-packed, suspenseful thrill ride you won’t wanna get off anytime soon. Felicity is a mastermind at what she does.
The Reilly brothers can capture me (and my attention) every day of the week. Even with their proclivities, okay, maybe not all of Connor’s, their alpha ways, make a girl tingle!
I really am in awe of Ms. Brandon’s ability to create inter-related stories that seamlessly take us through time, characters lives. Lives which are intertwined, deliciously devious, devilish, dastardly, decadent….
These are stories, you really want to sit down with and not get up until the end! Hard to put down! Thank you for another wonderful Dalton book, and Saul’s teaser!!!
I received an advanced reader copy, and this is my honest and voluntary review.
This is the final book in the Dark Necessities Series. It is an exciting, adventurous, love filled story that centers on the recovery of Delilah from a rival syndicate. I love the way Ms. Brandon brought Connor, Molly and Saul into the action to aid Dalton and Delilah escape their adversaries and achieve their goals.
Delilah is abducted by Zander Hyland’s men, who leave Dalton severely injured and near death. Before Dalton fights his way to consciousness, he experiences visions of his beautiful Delilah, then fear is followed by darkness. When the light finally seeps through, it is filled with pain and terror for his missing love. Is Dalton well enough to leave the hospital to rescue Delilah? Will Connor and Saul convince him to recover first, while they attempt the rescue? What if he does not agree?
This story filled me with emotions too numerous to list. While Dalton, Molly, Connor and Delilah survived physical pain as well as social, emotional, and mental abuse, my own internal reactions dipped perilously low. At other times, through Felicity Brandon’s outstanding ability to compose a story that is also filled with brotherly love, family fidelity, and dominant/submissive adoration, I was able to surmount my terror to embrace a love and loyalty like no other. And now, I would very much enjoy reading about Saul. Darn, Felicity, you are a terrible tease!!!
Wow!! This one capture me a little bit more then the last two of Delilah and Dalton journey. Maybe because is the last of The Reilly men or because I found it more excited, more intense can’t say the reason but I can say that it definitely was a very hard journey this couple had to take to find that happiness that they definitely deserve to have.
I have been reading Felicity Brandon for quite some time now, and I find myself repeating praises of her work in my reviews. Why, you ask? Because through her many written words she has never disappointed me. Not once. Not for the faint of heart or for those with certain triggers, this author leads her readers on such a fantastic journey of intrigue, suspense, well-developed characters, distinct worlds, and intricate and satisfying plots.
This book, Tested, is the finale in the Dark Necessities series and what an ending it was! Connor and Molly, Dalton and Delilah, Zander Hyland, Saul Morrison, et al, all come together in a harrowing story of abduction, cruelty, debauchery, betrayal and love holding people together through the most horrifying of times. And this is what struck me the most. The love that holds lovers tightly in its embrace and never lets them go.
This book pulled out all the stops for me. I found myself hunched over the page, oftentimes muttering aloud (which caused my family to give me the eyebrow raised, slightly confused stare). It made my heart race in spots. There were a few times I had to put my Kindle down and get up for a bit, just to take a quick break. At one point I actually stated, “Oh, I’d make that SOB pay and pay hard.” And I meant it. I became so emotionally involved in this story, and that’s a sign of excellent writing.
So, here I am again highly recommending a Felicity Brandon novel. If you are a lover of dark romance, as I am, you will thoroughly enjoy this piece of incredibly well-written fiction. Don’t miss out. You most certainly won’t regret it.

This story will have you on the edge, between all of the drama and suspense surrounding this dark romance story between Dalton/Delilah and Connor/Molly. This is a must read and it looks like Saul may get his own story next. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book
Oh my, this book is ah-mazing! When the last book ended Dalton and Delilah were in a pickle. This book is the conclusion of their story and is action packed and suspense filled. We have hospital scenes, multiple abductions, bad guys galore including Zander F ing Hyland, moles, car wrecks, an unlikely and funny partnership, gunshots and some steamy hot scenes. You don’t want to miss reading this one.
OMG!!!! This is me squealing like a fangirl!! I love The Dark Necessities series. I swear each story only gets better.
The Reilly boys are so super focused on their mates, and their intense desires are off the charts. The story only gets more intriguing with the mind talk, possessive natures, and the submissiveness of the ladies. Saul demands his own story with his fierce demeanor and his unwavering loyalty. Ms. Brandon has been stringing us along with snippets of his past. She parts out little pieces like catnip. I am smitten and can’t wait to find out more. More. More. More. Please.
I read and reviewed a copy of this book.
