Willow Andrew’s life is a hot mess. Coming from a family of successful professionals, the fact that at twenty-seven she still doesn’t know what she wants to be when she grows up doesn’t sit well. Desperate not to disappoint her grandmother, she invents a fake boyfriend so Gammy won’t worry so much. It seemed a victimless lie… until Gammy announced that Willow AND her boyfriend needed to be … to be present at her 75th birthday party. Or else. Out of time and options, Willow turns to the sexy bartender she’s been secretly crushing on for help.
Levi Sullivan has his life in order and thrives off helping others.
In fact, he would do anything to help out a friend. But he’s angling for far more than friendship with Willow. Entranced by the clumsy beauty since the first time he watched her trip over nothing, he happily agrees to a chance to spend more time with her. Fake romance or not, he’s determined to use their long-distance road trip to turn a game of pretend into something more.
Warning—the roads ahead will twist and turn with laugh-out loud moments and sizzling chemistry. But traffic should be aware, the journey ahead is far more important than the destination.

The Road Tripping series by Samantha Chase is becoming a favorite of mine especially when it has men like Levi. I loved that even though Willow is always second guessing herself and life he is determined to be her champion in every way. Seeing Willow at odds in her life and then trying to please everyone can be quite a handfull but not for Levi. The friendship they have is sweet but when it comes to their love it is fun to see Willow squirm with his attention. Now Grammy is one funny and sometimes terrifying Grandma when it comes to certain things. All in all this is one series worth full of laughter, love and true friendships brewing in every way. Loved it.
“I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own.”
I love this series, it is so much fun! Willow has been having a hard time with her family who keep questioning her life choices plus she is super klutzy so when she has to go home for her Grandma’s birthday she frets and makes up a boyfriend. Levi is the bartender at the bar that Willow & her friends love to go to and has had a huge crush on Willow not knowing that Willow has had a huge crush on him as well. I enjoyed how much they complemented each other and how much Levi helped Willow’s self confidence improve.
This series has been so much fun to read. I love how Samantha Chase still has her writing style in these books but has also added some humor, some characters you just have to not like, and facing fears head on. I think she stepped out of her comfort zone a little on this new series but once again she nailed it.
This latest book takes fake relationships on a whole new level with a road trip. Willow and Levi meet after Willow falls in front of his pub. Willow soon uses him as her new fake boyfriend when talking to her Gammy. Thinking she will never find out he is fake until Gammy says bring him to my birthday party. Levi agrees to go on a road trip to meet Gammy and Willow’s parents. i can’t tell you how often I wanted to punch Willow’s dad through out this book but even though I did not like him he added so much to this story.
Another great page turner from Chase!!!!!
Willow is a smart and beautiful but kind of klutzy. She is trying to do what makes her happy but her parents like to give her a hard time. She kind of got herself in a predicament when she is supposed to go visit her grandma and she is expected to bring her boyfriend, that she made up.
Levi is a handsome pub owner. Who helped Willow one day when she fell outside of his pub. He has liked her ever since, but has never had the courage to ask her out. When he hears the predicament she is in he volunteers to help her out.
I Love Test Drive. It was a great, easy feel good read. I love their chemistry and how they both seem oblivious to each other’s hints that they actually like and have feeling for each other. It was a fun adventure going on their road trip with them and seeing where they ended up. I highly recommend Test Drive!!
Test Drive by Samantha Chase is the 3rd book in her RoadTrippin Series. Even though this book is the third book in this series it can be read as a standalone but why would you miss the fun from the first two books. Ms. Chase wrote a wonderful story which drew me right in, making me forget everything else and did not let me go until I turned the last page. This is a great fun read and a good way to escape reality. I loved this book. It was very well written the characters were well developed. I read this book in one sitting it was that good. I highly recommend this book and series. I’m excited to see what she has in store for us next! A must-read for rom-com readers!
Test Drive!
This book is the 3rd book in Samantha Chase’s Road Tripping series. You don’t need to read the previous two books as this one is a complete stand alone, but follows the same theme.
Willow’s life is in limbo. She doesn’t have a “real” job, spending her time walking several dogs and being a nanny to a sweet little boy. But her parents expect their children to have “careers” and although Willow has the degree, she has no interest in joining her parents and settling in a career she’s not interested in. Meanwhile, her Grandmother is turning 75 and the family is expected to attend a big event. Willow has just one issue. She’s lied to her family that she has a great boyfriend in an effort to get her parents off her back. Now her grandmother expects her to come celebrate and to bring the boyfriend she’s heard so much about. Willow based her boyfriend off a man she’s been drawn to for months, Levi, a bartender at a bar in her neighbourhood.
Levi has had a crush on Willow since he first met her, after she fell outside his bar. When he discovers she’s having another bad night, and what the issue was, he volunteers to accompany her to her grandmother’s birthday and pretend to be her boyfriend. This was a perfect opportunity for him to get to know the woman he’s been attracted to for months.
Neither knew the other had feelings or wanted this little vacation trip to become a more permanent relationship, and for some reason, Levi did not tell Willow that his boss was himself and he actually owned the pub!
As usual, I enjoyed this Samantha Chase novel. The characters are relatable, the attraction between the two main characters is not over the top, and the secondary characters of Willow’s grandmother and the ROMEO’s are hilarious! I highly recommend this book and look forward to whatever Samantha Chase writes next!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
In the newest Road Tripping Series book, Test Drive, we meet Willow and Levi. Willow works as a dog walker and part time nanny while not using her psychology degree that her parents made her get. Levi owns a pub and is proving to be very successful at a job he loves. When Willow (a real clumsy girl) trips and falls in front of the pub, Levi runs out, picks her up, brings her into the pub and takes care of her. He is smitten and so is she, but secretly of course. After visiting the pub for months Willow needs a fake boyfriend to attend her grandmother’s birthday party in Florida. Levi jumps at the chance. On their road trip they get to know each other. Will what they are feeling turn into real feelings? Will they admit it to each other? Will Willow’s pretty hip grandmother catch on and help? A really fun time finding out! And another great addition to the series.
I’ve read quite a few Samantha Chase books in recent years and I can honestly say this series is the most fun of them all. The stories (all three) have an easy breezy vibe to them. Don’t get me wrong, there’s conflict and emotion but overall, that’s not what drives these stories.
With Test Drive, Willow stole the show for me. This girl had me laughing, shaking my head, laughing some more and feeling all kinds of happy up in my heart! ALL THE TIME! And Levi …. I mean total swoonfest happening. He truly was her knight in shinning armor LOL They both have a thing for each other but neither is fessing up! Let the games begin …
I’m telling you guys, this is Samantha Chase GOLD. These stories she has come up with for this series are endearing and fun and sweet and just so darn swoony! If you’re new to her worlds, in my opinion, this is one of the best places to start your journey!
Loved Levi and Willow! This is a great road trip between friends who are secretly crushing on each other. Willow is trying to balance her own life with the expectations of her parents and finds herself in a bind…when her grandma expects her to bring her boyfriend on her trip. Enter Levi – friend and helper-to-all-who-need-him. What Willow doesn’t realize is that Levi likes her from afar as much as she does him. Somewhere along this road trip this fake relationship starts to feel real… A great conclusion to this road tripping series!
TEST DRIVE is the third instalment in Samantha Chase’s contemporary, adult ROAD TRIPPING romance series. This is bar owner Levi Sullivan, and dog walker / nanny Willow Andrew’s story line. TEST DRIVE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Willow and Levi) TEST DRIVE follows the friends to lovers relationship between bar owner Levi Sullivan, and dog walker / nanny Willow Andrew. Willow Andrew is a bit of a klutz whose parents struggle with their daughter’s lack of direction in life. Several months earlier, Willow Andrew’s introduction to Levi Sullivan happened when Willow wiped out in front of Levi’s bar. With the approach of her Gammy’s 75th birthday, Willow is desperate as she has told her Gammy about a ‘boyfriend’ who doesn’t exist, a boyfriend whose name just happens to Levi Sullivan. Enter bar owner Levi Sullivan, and the man with whom Willow will fall in love. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Willow and Levi, and the potential fall-out as a lie of omission threatens Levi’s relationship with the woman he loves.
Willow Andrew believes Levi Sullivan is an overworked bartender and in this the conflict begins to unfold. Willow and Levi set out on a cross-country journey to attend Gammy’s 75th birthday, a journey that heightens our heroine’s anxiety with having to face her overly critical, professional parents. With Levi as a buffer, Willow is able to stand up to her parents but a return home forces Willow to face the truth including a secret Levi has kept to himself.
The secondary and supporting characters are colorful, energetic and fun especially Willow’s seventy-five year old Gammy whose $ex life is more exciting than her struggling granddaughter’s.
TEST DRIVE is a story of family and friendships, love and relationships, expectations, and disappointment. The premise is entertaining ; the characters are flirty and fun; the romance is passionate and sweet-the $ex scenes are all implied but Willow’s reaction to Levi’s ‘lie of omission’ was a bit over the top and didn’t warrant the reaction by our heroine’s BFFs.
Test Drive is book three in the RoadTripping series. I was definitely looking forward to this book. I love the fake-boyfriend-turns-into-real-boyfriend story. Willow’s clumsiness and her banter with Levi put a lighthearted, humorous spin on this story which was just what I needed right now. This story really hooked me, and I can only wish it never ended. I highly recommend it, and the entire series.
Another great book by Ms. Chase! This series is so much fun.
While the basic trope of the book is fake boyfriend, it’s done in such a fun way. Willow and Levi learn a lot about communication while they are pretending to be a couple.
Honesty is always the best policy.
Samantha takes you on a wild adventure in this road tripping book, most definately my favourite of this series.
I was smitten with Levi, his rugged protective alpha is such a turn on and Willow could be my bestie, she was a hoot.
The perfect laugh out loud Rom Com.
A terrific addition to a stellar series. This might be my favorite. Full of sweet emotion, a sexy couple, a few laughs, and wonderful family and friends. I loved this couple and what starts as a fake boyfriend relationship when they both are secretly enamored with the other right from their first meeting. Willow was a gal after my heart with her tender heart, cute clumsiness and go-for-it attitude when it’s time to get intimate with her fake boyfriend. And what a hunk her fake boyfriend Levi is. Sweet and sexy! When he offers to road trip with Willow to her grammy’s 75th birthday he has the opportunity to get close to the cutie that stole his attention. Grammy is a hoot and offers TMI along with sex advice to the potential lovers. Willow is dealing with parental problems and career issues. Levi is wonderfully supportive and goes toe to toe with her father about his treatment Willow. Levi’s unintended secret causes some drama for the new couple and Levi’s groveling is heart melting. This is a quick, easy read that flows as the couple gets sexy and the relationship road test drive is a success. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC.
Test Drive by Samantha Chase is a fantastic book! I couldn’t put my kindle down. I enjoyed reading about Willow and Levi’s journey to love. I enjoyed the storyline and the plot of the book. The love scenes are so amazing and steamy. This book was well written and it flowed seamlessly. I always enjoy reading a book by Samantha Chase.
Loved, loved this book!!! Willow and Levi have a fake relationship and go on a road trip for Willow’s gammy’s birthday. A road trip from New York to Florida, they really get to know each other. Loved the banter between them. Willow has zero self confidence, loved how Levi helped her feel better about her self. Loved the physical chemistry that they share. So many laugh out moments through out the book. Loved the secondary characters, especially Gammy, I think we all need a gammy in our lives!!
This is the perfect book along with the other two stories in out time of quarantine. A road trip in your own living room. All three books are stand alone, but a common denominator is that they will leave you smiling at the end. I highly recommend this book!!!
Samantha Chase’s “Test Drive,” book #3 of the RoadTripping series, is a complete standalone featuring all-new characters unrelated to the casts of the first two books in the series, but continues the same theme of main characters falling in love while taking a road trip together.
I’m a big fan of road trip romances, and “Test Drive” was a particularly fun one because it combined that trope with another one of my favorites, the fake relationship. In an effort to persuade her family that her life is going better than it really is, main character Willow Andrews invents a boyfriend who suspiciously resembles a real-life acquaintance, pub owner Levi Sullivan. When Willow’s grandmother demands that her “boyfriend” accompany Willow to her 75th birthday party in Florida, Levi agrees to go with her and play along with the ruse. Of course, high jinks ensue and real feelings develop along the way, but neither Levi nor Willow is sure that their vacation romance will be able to survive the transition back to real life.
Both Willow and Levi were likeable, well-developed characters, and I found it very easy to root for them to sort out their issues and figure out a way to be together for real. Levi seemed like a kind, caring guy, if a bit of a workaholic, and I liked how close he was with his family. As for Willow, I found her to be quite relatable because of her clumsiness and the way her mouth would sometimes run away with her, but I also empathized with her because of the difficult position her parents put her in. They put a lot of pressure on her to live up to their expectations and the examples set by her high-achieving older siblings, but Willow seemed to take after her free-spirited grandmother instead. I really admired Willow for refusing to bow to the pressure to follow the career path her parents wanted for her and instead found what made her happy, even if it wasn’t necessarily as prestigious as her parents would have liked.
Overall “Test Drive” was a sweet, funny, and quick read, and I would recommend it for all fans of contemporary romance and romantic comedy. I look forward to whatever Samantha Chase plans to write next!

I wasn’t sure what to expect from Samantha road tripping series and so far each story is better than the last. Levi and Willow are such great characters and they have each had a secret crush on the other and it takes a road trip to finally bring their relationship to the next level. Levi is just what Willow needs to build her confidence up after her parents think they know what is best for her and tend to talk down to her. Everything about this story was wonderful and her Gammy is hilarious. Wonderful job Samantha, looking forward to the next book.
Sweet and funny goodness! Willow and Levi are adorable. Willow about broke my heart several times with her self doubt and how used to feeling inadequate. Levi is the epitome of a knight in shiny armor but not arrogant about it. His internal dialogue and how he could read Willow was precious. Gammy may be one of my favorite secondary characters.
All of these characters are vivid and so personable. I love how relatable the interactions and concerns are in SC books. This is a fun series and my favorite story in it to date!
Thank you for the chance to read this book and share my opinions!
I received this book as an ARC, in exchange for my honest review!
Super cute and fun summer book! This would have been a perfect beach read – nothing says summer like a road trip! I love the fake boyfriend becomes a real love trope. Willow & Levi had a lot of chemistry, so it didn’t feel forced – Test Drive was just a fun, rom-com style book.
