Willow Andrew’s life is a hot mess. Coming from a family of successful professionals, the fact that at twenty-seven she still doesn’t know what she wants to be when she grows up doesn’t sit well. Desperate not to disappoint her grandmother, she invents a fake boyfriend so Gammy won’t worry so much. It seemed a victimless lie… until Gammy announced that Willow AND her boyfriend needed to be … to be present at her 75th birthday party. Or else. Out of time and options, Willow turns to the sexy bartender she’s been secretly crushing on for help.
Levi Sullivan has his life in order and thrives off helping others.
In fact, he would do anything to help out a friend. But he’s angling for far more than friendship with Willow. Entranced by the clumsy beauty since the first time he watched her trip over nothing, he happily agrees to a chance to spend more time with her. Fake romance or not, he’s determined to use their long-distance road trip to turn a game of pretend into something more.
Warning—the roads ahead will twist and turn with laugh-out loud moments and sizzling chemistry. But traffic should be aware, the journey ahead is far more important than the destination.

Test Drive by Samantha Chase is a terrific read … one I devoured!
Terrific characters and a storyline that kept me reading long into the night. Willow and Levi are realistic characters that charmed me from the start. … and supporting characters were charming and annoying (intended) … and I’m hoping the charming ones appear in Ms. Chase’s next books.
Willow is trying to find her way after getting a degree she really didn’t want … but her parents wanted. She’s struggling with “what’s next” and trying to stay true to herself while enduring pressure from her parents to leave the east coast and join them in their Seattle psychiatry practice when she trips on Levi’s sidewalk and falls into his arms. But she’s got a strong will and her quirkiness has enthralled Levi and delighted her local friends, as well as Gammy in FL.
Levi is hit with a ton of bricks when Willow falls into his arms. He’s pulled into Willow’s world even more when she and her friends make Friday nights at his bar a regular thing. It’s apparent to everyone that he’s crushing on her … and when she needs a fake boyfriend to go to Gammy’s in FL and support her against her parent’s pressures, he can’t sign up fast enough … and his crush gets bigger and bigger with each mile during their road trip from NY to FL.
This book is delightful and is the perfect summer read. It’s about standing up for yourself, getting past self-doubts and family pressure, and being honest to get what you really want out of life.
I received an ARC. This is my honest review.
Samantha Chase
Loved this heartwarming, sexy, fun and action packed adventure filled with engaging charters, witty dialog, heart racing twists, exciting turns and thrilling passion. Was a great read to escape the every day and was so happy tacking this emotionally thrilling journey.
I absolutely loved Test Drive, the third installment in Samantha Chase’s Road Tripping series! It’s a well-written rom-com that is witty and laugh-out-loud funny.
Willow is expected in Florida for her Gammy’s 75th birthday but is expected to bring the boyfriend she’s been telling Gammy about. She’s modeled him after Levi, the bartender at McGee’s, the pub where she and her friends meet every Friday. When Levi learns about Willow’s predicament, he’s only too happy to oblige and be the “fake” boyfriend.
Chase keeps the focus on the couple, and the road trip is the perfect “vehicle” for them to get to know each other and build on their mutual attraction. Levi is so supportive of Willow, and their dynamic is wonderful.
Gammy is a hoot! She proves the adage that snow on the roof doesn’t mean the fire’s out in the furnace. All the supporting characters are great, including Willow’s friends Jen and Donna, Gammy’s Romeos, and the employees at McGee’s. Heartily recommended!
Willow Andrews has already obtained a degree in psychology to please her parents. What is still not pleasing them is her not joining their practice. She’s has a babysitting and dog walking business until she figures out where her future should go in the job market area. The one area it will not be is psychology. To ease her Grammy’s worry about her she had invented a boyfriend but now Grammy is insisting that Willow bring her boyfriend with her to her Grammy’s 75th birthday party.
Levi hears about Willow’s dilemma and volunteers to go with Willow and be her ‘fake’ boyfriend. Their adventure starts from there. There’s lots of funny banter between these two. An actual type of relationship most people would crave. Now Levi has to get Willow think of their relationship lasting longer than just a few days
5 TEST DRIVE STARS!! I love this series….Test Drive was the perfect book to escape reality for a few hours. Levi and Willow will drive you around in a hilarious story land you will never forget. This story gave me all the feels and i enjoyed every word. You must read this book and series.
Samantha Chase is one of my absolute favorite authors. There’s nothing she writes I don’t love and give 5 stars. Test Drive is the perfect title for the story of Willow and Levi, as they embark on a road trip that is also a “test drive” of their budding romance that starts out as a fake relationship. I love their interaction from the very beginning to the end. Their bond grew on their long road trip and only got better. This is another installment in the fantastic Road Tripping Series that is also a perfect stand-alone. But, read them all!
Willow comes from a family of professionals who don’t understand that she doesn’t know what she wants to do with her life yet. In order not to cause anymore disappointment she tells her Gammy she has a boyfriend so she won’t worry. It’s fine they live in different states until Gammy announces she’s having a party for her 75th birthday and expects Willow and her non existent boyfriend. Enter Levi who helped her when she literally tripped into his life and they’ve become friends since although he would like more. When Willow’s friends tell him about her dilemma he volunteers to be her fake boyfriend. They’ll use the drive from NY to FL to get to know each other better like a real couple. You have to read this book and go on this journey with Levi and Willow as it’s so beautifully written. Ms.Chase really writes characters that you can relate to you really feel like you know them. She’s a master of her craft. I would definitely recommend this book and the rest of the books in this AMAZING series. I was given an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion of this book.
Another great road trip story! I loved the faked relationship trope, it was refreshing.
The new story in Samantha Chase’s Road Tripping series is awesome. So fun I couldn’t put it down. Willow doesn’t have much self esteem. The only underachiever in a family full of professionals. Oh and she’s clumsy. Very clumsy. Levi Sullivan is her knight in shining armour when she face plants in front of his bar. And the journey begins there. A road trip, Gammy’s birthday, a fake boyfriend, confronting her well meaning but chilly parents and the meaning of assume.. Another great read from Samantha Chase. Willow and Levi’s story has a little bit of everything. I highly recommend reading this. The whole series so far is also a great read.
Samantha Chase saved the best for last! I loved Willow and Levi’s story. They were so cute together, each liking the other but not admitting it. Willow was klutzy and self-deprecating. Levi was strong and independent. He liked Willow for herself…clumsiness and all. It was just a fun read. And Gammy was a hoot!
Another hot road trip mixed with steam and witty banter. Levi and Willow are just friends. Neither one knows how the other feels.. Willows grandma won’t leave her alone about not having a special someone in her life. Willow told her Gammy that she has a boyfriend, a little white lie what could it hurt, right? Well that was until her Gammy said that she wanted Willow and her boyfriend to be at her birthday party. Willow wasn’t sure what she was gonna do, then an idea hit her she will ask the hunky Levi if he would like to join I need her on a road trip. He was more then happy to help.. Samantha Chase is amazing with words and I love how her stories come to life.. She hit another great story out of the ball park..
This is the third book in the Road Tripping series from Ms. Chase. It’s an opposites attract, fake boyfriend kind of relationship that causes many hilarious and sexy moments for Levi and Willow.
Levi has his life together. He owns the bar his grandfather left him, is confident in his life choices and has a family full of support and love. Willow isn’t. She doesn’t know what she wants to do other than not psychology (the degree she earned), she can’t seem to walk without tripping or breaking something (how she met Levi) and only feels the love and approval from her grandmother (who she lied to about the boyfriend). Messy doesn’t begin to describe her life.
Enter the white knight. Levi wants to get closer to Willow, even if only under pretense of a relationship. Willow sees Levi as definite eye candy but doesn’t think she is really what he wants. Cue the road trip and eventually the HEA….this has been an interesting road trip adventure. Each book is a stand alone and approaches the idea of road trips from a whole new perspective.
I love this series! This one is just plain FUN with capital letters – F-U-N! Willow has been lying to her family about having a boyfriend to make her Gammy happy but now her Gammy wants her to bring the boyfriend home with her for her birthday party. Rut roh. Levi Sullivan has had a crush on Willow for a while and steps up to help her. He is completely charmed by her and her clumsy ways and would do anything for a friend. Will they survive the trip as friends or will they trip over to lovers for real?
Willow and Levi are so delicious! I adored how they have their meet cute. Willow and her friends hang out at the bar where Levi works and Willow has been admiring him for some time. Enough time to create a relationship with him to her grandmother. When her grandmother insists on her bringing her boyfriend, Willow either needs to “ break up” with him or produce him. Levi hears her dilemma and agrees to go. Holy smokes!! What?? So this might not be the best way to have a “first” date but I’m so glad they did. I love the banter between them and how they get to know each other by basically a twenty questions game. She gets to meet his family( at least one of them) along the way and he gets to meet everyone in hers. Her grandmother is totally adorable and I’m so glad she is in Willow’s corner. Levi gets a taste of what Willow’s life is all about and becomes her champion as well. Levi is delicious ( yes, I said already but it deserves to be said again. Lol). He keeps some things from Willow but has a fairly good reason. He does this favor for Willow for some purely selfish reasons, he wants to get to know her so much better. All in all, I loved this book. The idea for a road trip romance is fresh to me and I would love to read more like this.
Willow and Levi are a fun couple. When Willow needs to make up a boyfriend who do she think of….the local “bartender” Levi. She even uses his real name. Now it’s time to go visit Gammy for her 75th birthday and Gammy is expecting her to bring her boyfriend Levi. Being he good guy he is Levi agrees and this sets in motion a road trip from Long Island to Florida they won’t soon forget. Gammy is a hoot as well. Samantha Chase has a great sense of humor in her latest books.
This is a true romantic comedy. Willow is sweet, shy and sexy. She made up a boyfriend so her Grandmother would not worry about her. Levi who is already very attracted to Willow agrees to be her boyfriend on road trip to visit her family. Willow is lost right now. Willow’s parents are very critical of her life choices. Levi becomes her knight in shining armor. Meeting Willow was one of greatest moments of his life. This book is enchanting. Willow and Levi are truly an adorable couple. I love how Levi is so supportive with Willow. How he gives her the confidence to step out of her comfort zone. This was great series and Test Drive was my favorite book of this series.
One roadtrip to Florida and a fake relationship equals fun and heartswooning moments.
In Test Drive we get Willow Andrews and Levi Sullivan’s story. Both Levi and Willow have feelings for each other, though they never revealed it to each other. Willow needs a “fake” boyfriend to join her on a trip to Florida for a family event. Levi steps up to be her boyfriend.
I just adore Willow and Levi’s relationship. I love their chemistry. I love how their struggles are easily relatable. I laughed and heartswooning moments. Willow lacks confidence in herself and a lot of that is due to her parents and their high expectations for her. I love how Levi has her back. Levi is that guy, the one that goes the extra mile for his friends. I love how Levi stands up to Willow’s father. I just adore Willow’s Grandmother aka Gammy. The friendships, chemstry and connection make Test Drive out of this world amazing. It was easy to follow along and even easier for me to connect to the story. Samantha Chase had me captivated from page one. I couldn’t stop reading Test Drive. I found myself wanting more. The dynamics of this story are amazing. Test Drive is my all time favorite book in the Road tripping series. Grab your copy and join me on the best roadtrip you will have.
Test Drive was such a good book! I loved how Willow and Levi kind of just fell into each other. There was a pretty slow progression of their relationship, but that just made it all the more perfect. I guess you would call this a friends to lovers trope, even though their friendship wasn’t really established before Levi agreed to be her fake boyfriend for a family event. Whatever it was, I enjoyed the heck out of it!
Test Drive by Samantha Chase is the third book in the Road Tripping series. It is such a fun read, especially Gammy. I love fake boyfriend romance and when you throw in a knight in shimming armor like Levi you can’t go wrong. I’m excited where this Road Trip will lead to next.
My favorite book in the RoadTripping series so far! Test Drive is the perfect feel-good romantic comedy to get you in the summer mood. This was the perfect book to get me out of my reading funk. Levi’s witty banter and Willow’s clumsy nature (she’s my kindred spirit in that aspect) make for one wild ride that will have you laughing along the way.
