Willow Andrew’s life is a hot mess. Coming from a family of successful professionals, the fact that at twenty-seven she still doesn’t know what she wants to be when she grows up doesn’t sit well. Desperate not to disappoint her grandmother, she invents a fake boyfriend so Gammy won’t worry so much. It seemed a victimless lie… until Gammy announced that Willow AND her boyfriend needed to be … to be present at her 75th birthday party. Or else. Out of time and options, Willow turns to the sexy bartender she’s been secretly crushing on for help.
Levi Sullivan has his life in order and thrives off helping others.
In fact, he would do anything to help out a friend. But he’s angling for far more than friendship with Willow. Entranced by the clumsy beauty since the first time he watched her trip over nothing, he happily agrees to a chance to spend more time with her. Fake romance or not, he’s determined to use their long-distance road trip to turn a game of pretend into something more.
Warning—the roads ahead will twist and turn with laugh-out loud moments and sizzling chemistry. But traffic should be aware, the journey ahead is far more important than the destination.

Test Drive is my favorite book in the series, both plot wise, as well as the main couple. Willow and Levi are adorable…she’s a dog walker and part time nanny who’s bit klutzy, and he’s a bar owner with a giant, silent crush. Their road trip is to celebrate her grandmother’s birthday, and introduce her to Willow’s “boyfriend”. But as we all know, fake always turns real, but not before some very sweet and funny moments on the road, and at lunch with a “Romeo“ or two.
Another great book by Samantha Chase!
This is an amazing book and I loved it!! Ms. Chase this series just keeps getting better and better. This was such a fun, entertaining, sexy and sweet story. It was the perfect story. I wasn’t able to put it down!! Loved the characters and watching/reading how their relationship blossomed, the plot…well everything.
This book was a great ending to the Road Tripping series by Samantha Chase. I really enjoyed Willow and Levi and of course you cannot have this great story without Gammy. I did enjoy Willow and her grandmother’s close and supportive relationship. Their road trip game of getting to know each other better was fun and for them and for the reader. I totally understand why she does not want to see or spend time with her parents and especially go into practice with them, the little time we spent with them during the story was definitely enough time for me. I really appreciated Levi supporting her with her father, but unfortunately information came out that he should have told Willow first and I knew that would become a problem. I liked that Willow and her Gammy played Words with Friends and how she started a game with Levi and the words she used were quite pointed and perfect for her take on the situation. This story has definitely given me the road trip bug. This book was a perfect conclusion to this fun series!

Test Drive
Book 3 Road Tripping
I loved this story! This is a very fun, sexy, sweet, and entertaining read! Absolutely love the characters and its plot.
“This is crazy, he thought. There was no way he was going to drive cross-country with a complete stranger. He didn’t do things like this! He was fairly practical and cautious, and this had disaster written all over it.”
Absolutely amazing!
Test Drive was a Florida vacation I won’t soon forget.
I loved this sweet story about girl who takes a handsome bartender she just met to her Grandmother’s birthday party to play the role of her pretend boyfriend. Levi is the perfect boyfriend and the perfect romantic hero – strong, funny, caring and oh so sexy while Willow is exactly the kind of sweet, vulnerable , beautiful heroine a knight in shining armor and a bright red convertible needs. Together they make for a rousing road trip story that’s perfect for a summer long weekend.
One of 2020’s most enjoyable romances.
Willow Andrews is a disappointment to her parents. After paying for her tuition to obtain a degree in psychology, they expect her to move across the country and join their practice. But Willow is quite happy with her babysitting and dog-walking jobs while she figures out her future, thank you very much.
Willow’s biggest supporter is her grandmother who lives in a Florida retirement community. With Gammy’s upcoming birthday, Willow will get to spend time with her favorite person as well as her unsupportive, judgmental parents. It also means she needs to find a fake boyfriend since she’s been telling Gammy all about him for weeks. Fortunately, the bartender who rescued her when she tripped and fell outside McGee’s Pub hears her conversation with her BFFs and offers to help.
A story about two virtual strangers spending a week together, with four of those days being in a car, has the potential to be boring, but Willow and Levis’ story is anything but. Willow is a little unsure of herself and a lot awkward and clumsy, and Levi loves that about her. There are plenty of laughs and plenty of heartfelt moments as these two get to know each other while learning about themselves and growing. I was a bit disappointed at the main conflict, especially since Willow was guilty of an offense similar to Levis’. It seemed like a missed opportunity, but I had little trouble overlooking it due to the terrific writing and compelling storyline.
There are so many things to love about this story! The premise of a long car trip should resonate with readers – haven’t we all had a memorable trip or two? The main characters are loveable and endearing, and the cast of secondary characters keep things lively and fresh. Especially the delightfully quirky Gammy who speaks her mind and has a case of the TMIs, particularly when it comes it intimate subjects.
Buckle up and get ready for a fun, lighthearted adventure with Levi and Willow. Full of wit, humor, and lots of heart, this delightfully entertaining read has something for every romantic heart, and you won’t want to miss it!
4 1/2 stars
A road trip, a hilarious grandmother, and a fake boyfriend Test Drive is a good summer read!
Willow doesn’t exactly have her life in order, at least according to her parents wishes, but she pays her bills and isn’t living on the street. She may have made up a fake boyfriend to ease everyone’s minds, but aside from that, her life is basically fine.
When her grandmother’s birthday comes up and she insists that Willow bring her boyfriend down for the celebration Willow panics and asks the man whom she created the fictional reference from – Levi the bartender – that she sees every weekend, the man of her fantasies. Thankfully he’s single and agrees to go with her, keeping up her fake life unknowing that he actually likes her in return.
Levi has been waiting for the opportunity to ask Willow out, but things get turned upside down when she misconstrues his acceptance and then continues to take his boyfriend lead for just false notions. He eventually feels so deep in the hole he doesn’t know how to get himself out of it. He needs a do over on the entire fake relationship so they have a shot at a real one.
With lots of wonderful family moments, mostly consisting of Gammy and Romeo moments that will make you laugh, this is the perfect summer read.
If you are looking for a fun entertaining series look no further than The Road Tripping Series, every book is fun and entertaining and Test Drive is a great addition.
This is Willow Andrew and Levi Sullivan’s Story and it’s a fake boyfriend/ friends to lovers romance.
Willow needs a boyfriend to take to her grandmothers 75th birthday party because to keep the peace within her family she invented the man of her dreams who just happens to be called Levi.
Levi owns the bar Willow and her friends drink in and he always finds time to chat with the girl who has caught his eye, problem is she thinks he is the bartender but when he overhears her telling her friends her dilemma he steps in to save the day. This is when the fun begins and these two embark on a road trip from New York to Florida…..
This book has it all, witty banter, loveable characters and a storyline that is fun and entertaining. Test Drive is a great addition to the series and I highly refit to all romantic comedy lovers.
Come take a test drive! This story was fun and entertaining, sexy and sweet!! I loved Willow and Levi!! I smiled every time Willow would go on one of her one of her rants whenever she got nervous and how Levi would try to patiently get a word in. He was so sweet sticking up for her and always being her cheerleader when she was started to feel insecure. This is a “don’t miss” kinda story!
Test Drive takes love on the run to a whole new level. Levi and Willow will rev up the heart with their flirty banter, clueless musings and heartwarming secondary characters. She’s looking to find herself. He’s angling to win her heart. Add in a little white lie and the stage is set to be crusin’ on the highway of love. Roadtripping with Samantha Chase is refreshing. Whether you lose your way, find your heart or live out your dream, Chase will make sure you’ll have fun in the process. Life is a highway and this series proves to be the perfect escape
I freaking love this series by Samantha! Each book in the series gets better and better! 5 road tripping stars for this one!
We meet Willow, she walks dogs and baby sits to make ends meet. Not that she doesn’t have a degree in psychology that she could use, but that’s not the route she wanted to take, but her parents made her. When she has to travel to Florida for Gammy’s birthday, she needs to bring her boyfriend Levi, oh yea she doesn’t have a real boyfriend named Levi, she made him up to satisfy gammy, but there is a real life Levi, he’s the bartender at the bar she goes to every Friday night with her friends, but he wouldn’t take a road trip to Florida with her would he?
Grab this book asap and sit back, relax and enjoy their story!
Lying to her family about the man in her life turns out to be a bigger deception when Willow needs to bring him to her grandmother’s birthday. The man she made up just happens to be the bartender she has lusted over from afar on girl’s night. But when Levi not only agrees to play the part but also becomes her knight in shining armor with her parents, Willow only becomes more attached to him. But will Levi ever return her feelings? Or will watching him across the bar on girl’s night be the only connection the two have? In true Samantha Chase fashion the reader once again falls in love with the characters from the opening pages. Honest and true emotions are felt through out the book and the fake relationship tugs on the heartstrings. Another wonderful addition to a great series.
4.5 star review of Test Drive (Road Tripping #3) by Samantha Chase
I am really enjoying this latest series from Samantha Chase. This time it is Willow Andrew and Levi Sullivan’s story and it was an entertaining read.
Willow desperately needs a fake boyfriend in a hurry, having been summoned to attend her grandmother’s 75th birthday celebration. Not knowing but hoping he will help her out, she turns to Levi, totally unaware that he has feelings for her.
Levi hopes he can get Willow to see that he would be an amazing boyfriend. Can a long distance road trip move this fake relationship into something real?
I really loved Willow and Levi as they embarked on their road trip. Their banter made me smile and there were numerous laugh out loud moments, romance and steam that made this an entertaining read.
Test drive was well written and enjoyable with characters that you cannot help but fall for, Levi and Willow are so likeable and easy to relate too.
Test Drive
Road Tripping series #3
Samantha Chase
I think this might be my favourite book in this series, I loved Willow and her uncoordinated ways and sexy Levi he was a perfect male lead, but my all time favourite was Gammy, let’s just say she’s the funniest, crudest nana ever, and I adored her.
When Willow is invited to her grandmothers birthday in Florida, she finds herself in a pickle, with a little white lie regarding a pretend boyfriend named Levi, who just happens to be the local bar tender… yep she needs help and quickly. She’s always crushed on sexy Levi, bar tender of her favourite bar she goes to e er Friday night. Never game enough to ask him out though, because who wants a almost unemployed, over qualified dog walker and well renowned clutz.
Levi has always liked Willow, she’s gorgeous and smart and that one fall outside of his business just made her more likeable to him. She comes to his bar every Friday night, and every Friday night he kicks himself for not asking her out. He’s about to get his chance, as she explains how she needs a fake boyfriend for a week long trip… Winning, Levi jumps in, starting off a road trip to change both their lives.
Willow and Levi are nothing alike, yet share a special something, they use their time in the car to discover more about each other, not realising these clues show true feelings. Dealing with her aweful parents and their demands on her career and life choices make Levi see red. Very quickly it is crystal clear the feelings are very real, but with many hurdles to climb, it won’t be an easy ride, but a Test Drive to the future will make or break everything.
Willow and Levi’s story in Test Drive, book three in Samantha Chase’s Road Tripping series, is a wonderful, amusing, smexy, and laugh-out-loud tale as two people, secretly crushing on each other, pretend to be boyfriend/girlfriend, travelling from New York to Florida for a family celebration and convincing the family that they are really a couple.
Willow Andrew struggles to figure out what she wants to do with her life when she grows up. This does not sit well with her successful parents who struggle to understand their youngest child. Not wanting to disappoint or worry her grandmother, Gammy, Willow invents a fake boyfriend. It was an innocent lie until Gammy decided that Willow and her boyfriend needed to attend her 75th birthday party. What’s a granddaughter to do? With little time or options available, Willow turns to the hot bartender she’s been secretly crushing on for help. Levi Sullivan lives to help others; doing anything for a friend. Since the day he watched Willow trip over nothing, Levi has been interested in her. He has no problem agreeing to this fake relationship; it will allow for him to spend more time with her. Levi is determined to use their long-distance trip as a way to get know each other better and hopefully turn this game of pretend into something more.
Willow has little confidence in herself which I blame on the high expectations her parents have for her. They pushed and prodded her into a college major that didn’t quite fit her, instead of letting her figure out what she does best. Levi is the perfect boyfriend, pretend or not. He stood up for Willow and took no gruff from her father. Gammy is a hoot; her love and support of Willow is apparent in every encounter they have. This road trip was filled with sizzling chemistry, major attraction, and laugh-out-loud antics that allowed Willow and Levi to have a memorable road trip.
Ms. Chase wrote a wonderful, heartwarming and amusing story that is not to be missed. She provided a tale rich with sizzling chemistry, out loud laughs, and charming characters giving Willow and Levi a chance at the love and happiness they both needed. I highly recommend Test Drive to other readers.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book
From the moment she did fallen flat on the face in front of his pub, Levi is attracted to Willow, well she is attracted to him too, but both of them hide their attraction. Then, Willow need fake boyfriend for her grandmother birthday party and Levi offers to help. A lot happens on the trip to Florida.
Would they feelings change at the end of the trip?
This book is awesome. Loved Willow and Levi. Willow’s friends are great and her grandmother is awesome.
Another wonderful story by Samantha Chase.
I loved this story! Willow has low self confidence thanks to her parents. Only her Grammy stood up for her. She’s klutzy & accident prone. Now, she needs to go to Gammy’s birthday party & needs the boyfriend she’s been talking about to go with her. The only problem is that he’s fake & based on Levi.
Levi owns a pub & fills in behind the bar as needed. Willow tripped in front of the bar & fell. Levi went to help her & their “friendship” began. Neither would admit to the feelings they had until Levi stepped up to go with her to Florida.
I really loved this book! It was witty, funny, emotional & sexy. It’s a look at the way relationships should be, standing up for each other. There were funny bits, emotional scenes, & more. Willow & her Dukes of Hazard 360 was hilarious. Gammy’s attempt at conversation with Willow at the spa regarding sex was so realistic. You could just see Willow’s cheeks turning red. Gammy’s outspokenness really made several of the conversations realistic & enjoyable. I could feel my lips curving into a smile because my grandmother was the same way! Throughout the trip you could sense Willow & Levi’s connection deepen & turn into lasting love. I really think this is my favorite of these stories so far!
This series is honestly so much fun! I really loved this story! Levi and Willow are sweet perfection! Their story is full of all the good romance stuff, hardly any drama at all, just a teenie tiny bit; but at least it is understandable and I wouldn’t even really call it drama. Sometimes you just need/want all the romance: the sweet, the fun, the flirty, great storyline and awesome characters too; and Samantha Chase delivers the goods with Test Drive! Levi is incredibly sweet and lovable, amazing, and all the things I love in a hero. And Willow is a lovable heroine, so adorable, sweet, clumsy and quirky. They are both so down to earth and absolutely perfect together. I love the fake relationship trope! Of course it always comes out how much the couple actually feel for each other and belong together for real, but it is how the story is told that really matters and this one is simply incredible!
This is such a good book!
I enjoyed reading it from beginning to end.
It’s a sexy, funny, touching & moving romance. Willow Levi, are adorable.
She’s sweet & naive. He’s strong
& compassionate.
Willow’s grandmother, is celebrating
her 75th birthday with a big party.
Gammy, is happy to finally meet
Willow’s boyfriend, Levi.
But that’s going to be a problem,
since she made-up having a boyfriend.
Another fabulous book in the series!
I loved everything about this
