Detective Munro is on the back foot when a dangerous killer always seems to be one step ahead.Having been the victim of a hit and run accident, and despite being black and blue, DI Munro wastes no time in trying to find out the identity of the perpetrator. In the meantime, a junior detective receives a call from a concerned member of the public, worried that a recently deceased friend’s will had … deceased friend’s will had been unlawfully changed.
What connects these two events will be crucial to the detective’s investigation. But when prime witnesses turn up dead, they’ll discover they have a more serious case on their hands. With attempted murder upgraded to a full-scale murder investigation, can the police close in on a mysterious killer or will Munro be finally outwitted?

What a read!!!
The cat-and-mouse play between an injured but sharp as a tack Scottish Police DI and his crew, and a murderous Scandinavian criminal. Brilliant ending. Once you get used to the Scottish language the reading is an added bonus of the entertainment.
Pretty good. I liked the first one, but I had some trouble with the dialect. This one was easier to read. Had a good plot, but left you wondering about the fate of Monroe?
Quick read. I totally enjoyed the Scottish narrative and the intentioned brogue. There were some unanswered questions regarding the ancillary stories, but overall enjoyable. I really appreciated the lack of verbal filth that usually accompanies cop books.
carries on the story with many new threads connected. The characters become steadily more robust as you get to know them. A pair of complex mysteries that the team works in parallel…
Was great story…unexpected ending. Good read and I do recommend it.
Disjointed
An unusual Scottish police procedural mystery. The characters are likeable but quirky. I have read most of the books in the series and have enjoyed the red herrings and convoluted plot twists. The strengths and weakness of each police officer is sometimes drawn out in great detail and more than i prefer but the author bring the plot to a satisfactory conclusion. I recommend the series.
