TEQUILA + YOUR BEST FRIEND + YOUR BEDROOM = UM. WHOOPSIE?Don’t sleep with your best friend.Take it from me. I did it. And it was awful.
I-wish-the-tequila-made-me-forget kind of bad.
The problem is, Luke has forgotten. He swears that he can’t remember a thing about that night beyond the trays of tequila shots being set on the tables.
Except I can’t forget. I can’t forget how good his hands …
Except I can’t forget. I can’t forget how good his hands felt until I fell over and hit my hip on the dresser, and I sure as hell can’t forget the entire two minutes of tap-tap-squirt.
Awkward. Embarrassing. And the new subject of a couple of dirty lucid dreams.
But I have no intention of telling him what we did. Nothing good comes from telling your best friend he’s the worst guy you’ve ever slept with.
Which makes the tequila on my birthday a very, very bad idea…
Tequila, tequila is a funny best friends to lovers story that will have you laughing until the very end, as usual Miss Hart gives us a quirky heroine with a I don’t know what to do with myself hero and a crazy family to compliment the story
This has to be my favorite book my Emma to date! It was laugh aloud hilarious. Luke and Aspen have you cracking up from the beginning and I could not put their story down. You can tell that they are close and best friends, but you can also see why they were meant for each. They just needed help in realizing that. Enter the Tequila Tequila. Friends to lovers is one of my favorite subject genres and Emma nailed it with this story! It’s full of the witty banter you’re used to with her other books and let’s not forget the snark. You get to enjoy both Luke and Aspen’s perspectives which gives you the needed dialogue to see their individual struggles.
I loved the story and am on my way to read it for a second time.
*5 Stars*
ARC kindly received in exchange for an honest review.
This has to be one of my favourite books this year. I sped through this like a speed demon, it was just soooo good!
Luke and Aspen are life. Oh my god they are hilarious. I have not laughed so hard when reading a book before. These two are perfect as best friends and you can just tell that they’re meant to be together, even when they haven’t realised it, and don’t want to admit it yet. Best friends to lovers is one of my fave romance novel tropes, and this was so well written.
I loved all the characters in this, and there are just so many hilarious and awkward scenes that this is pure comedic gold. These guys are loveable, relatable and so damned funny.
I cannot put into words how much I loved this book. Just go and read it, I promise you won’t regret it!
This book has been one of a few highlights of a very grey and and cold autumn. Emma Hart has a humour like few and never fails to make me laugh out loud with her RomComs.
Add to that a friends-to-lovers plot mixed with (a lot) of tequila and you have an awesome book.
Emma Hart is amongst my top group of romantic comedy authors I don’t think she has ever written a book that didn’t do it for me, let’s be honest who isn’t smiling just by reading …….
TEQUILA +YOUR BEST FRIEND +YOUR BEDROOM = UM. WHOOPSIE !!!!
If you are looking for a book that will leave you smiling like a Cheshire Cat that is fun and low on drama then this is the book for you. Two friends who cross the line spend a fumbled few minutes in bed together try and move on still being just friends….Ummmm is that possible. Too much tequila shouldn’t end a twenty year friendship but can Luke and Aspen still be friends or maybe feelings come to the surface and they become friends and lovers ……..
This book made me laugh it had me giggling it left me smiling like a Cheshire Cat and at times it had me sighing and rolling my eyes but it’s the perfect book to de stress with. I loved the story and I loved the characters and I highly recommend this easy to read funny romance.
Tequila, Tequila is the latest laugh out loud romantic comedy from author Emma Hart. This story hits all the marks with humorous moments, sexy good times and characters that just keep you begging for more.
From the moment I picked up Tequila, Tequila I was positively hooked on Aspen & Luke. The very first chapter had me hiding my face and dying of laughter all at the same time. Aspen & Luke have the very best friendship and nothing could possibly shake these two…that is until one night when copious amounts of tequila are involved. This night changes absolutely everything and turns this duos axis totally upside down. I loved watching these two deal with the moments after; trying to navigate their way through all the things. Aspen & Luke had amazing chemistry and I couldn’t wait to see just how their story was going to play out.
Bottom line, Tequila, Tequila was a totally fun read. It made laugh. It made me swoon. I totally got lost in the characters and their story. This is one of the cutest best friends to lovers romances that I’ve gotten my hands on so far this year. Aspen & Luke’s story is funny with just the right amount of sarcasm and sexy. With little to no drama Tequila, Tequila will have you devouring this story in just a few short hours and in the end, you’ll be left with a huge grin on your face. I had a wonderful time getting swept up in Aspen & Luke’s story and am excited to see what this author has in store for us next!
“I’m just thinking it’s weird that I’ve known for years how handsome you are, but the desire to sit on your face is totally new.”
Slice the limes, sprinkle the salt, pour your favorite tequila, and get ready for one hilarious, charming, and highly entertaining romance! My favorite ROM-COM Queen is back with another sexy standalone that will satisfy your craving for the best friends-to-lovers trope.
Luke and Aspen, these two were so freaking comical. Who knew that two clumsy minutes in bed together would eventually turn into something neither of them were expecting. Being childhood friends gave them this great foundation to build upon, but I just loved how charming and how easy their friendship seemed to be from the very start. The banter between these two…forget about it! So good! I love how pretty much ANYTHING could come out of Aspen’s mouth. She’s like this badass bartender who isn’t afraid to say what’s on her mind. And Luke? OMG! So swoony, even when he’s trying not to be. I loved how protective he was over Aspen. I loved how protective they both were over their friendship.
I’m not spoiling anything when I say that OF COURSE they get a second chance in the sack because…DUH! Then they get to explore this new element of their relationship and it’s awkward, cute, and completely lovely. All this time they were worried about ruining their friendship, when in fact, becoming lovers only strengthened their already strong foundation as friends.
Tequila, Tequila by Emma Hart was filled with great characters and sexy shenanigans! From Aspen’s friend Blair to Luke’s Abuelita, every character stood out, giving this amazing love story so much personality and heart. Like every other Emma Hart book I’ve come across, it was next to impossible to put down!
Tequila, Tequila proves, yet again, why Emma is one of the true queens of romance. Luke and Aspen’s story is filled with witty banter, sexy scenes, completely awkward moments, and quirky antics. Hart has taken a popular trope and put her own stellar spin on it. One night of tequila shots, two best friends, and one awkward night that will change everything. As always, Hart gives us believable life-like characters that you could actually be friends with.
Definitely recommend!
There is just so much to love about this book and it is definitely one of my favorite new romantic comedies. I absolutely love Emma Hart’s writing style and her incredible sense of humor. I am just dying to see what she has in store for us next.

Emma Hart
Friends to lovers, spice, funnies, Tequila Tequila was a refreshing read. Luke and Aspen had chemistry, and a fabulous friendship. When it becomes more, only one remembers… Surrounded by a loud cast of supporting characters, Luke and Aspen navigate their new feelings. Aspen is bold, and caring. Luke is a bit on the quieter side compared to her. The characters complement each other well.
Overall, Tequila Tequila was a laugh out loud funny book. The story is fun and interesting, and the characters keep you entertained. It’s a one sit read, and a fabulous take on friends to lovers.
One tequila…two tequila…three tequila…after that who knows? You may just make some decisions that will totally change your life.
A hilariously funny friends-to-lovers romance with laugh out loud moments. These two are incredibly clever and witty. I totally enjoyed their friendship, sexual chemistry and incredibly funny dialogue.
Aspen and Luke have been best friends FOREVER! They stay at one another’s apartment, she feeds him on the daily, they have been there for one another through all the ups and downs. Then one drunken night changes things….but what if the other doesn’t remember? Maybe they can just carry on as if it never happened?
They say the truth will set you free…HAHA! That’s probably because they didn’t sleep with their best friend and have the worst sex ever! Now where do they go from here? Because catching feelings for your lifetime BFF wasn’t in the cards.
This is Aspen and Luke’s story of finding their way to forever. Super sweet, hilarious and sexy. The perfect read.
Oh my gosh, I don’t think I can tell you just how much I LOVED this book! Even all the things that usually annoy me in stories, the not telling someone when you should tell them, even with those kind of standard story aspects, this is going to be one of my all time favorite books. Because even with those things, I still feel like the way they reacted when the secrets were revealed was realistic. No one got all mad at the other, but they did get nervous and embarrassed, and that to me, is real. Something I could see people actually doing.
Now, the best part of this book, was the comedy part. I usually only post updates on Goodreads when I have to stop reading and am marking my progress in the book. But as I was reading this one, I had to stop a few times and mark the progress along with a quote or anecdote about the story. Like the part about how being set up on a date could be compared to a dog having their face rubbed in their own mess. Or the part when Aspen’s best friend tells her: “I’m ordering you a pizza. You’re dumb when you’re hungry.” The characters in this book are just so real! All the hangups that Aspen has about losing her best friend, as well as being embarrassed about what happened, and how it has changed her feelings, all real, something I have either felt in the past myself, or could totally see myself feeling. And then there was Luke’s family! So funny. I mean, actual, literal, laugh out loud funny.
I am honestly not kidding when I say that Emma Hart is probably going to become an all time favorite, must meet author of mine. Now, who can convince her to either go sign at Book Bonanza in Dallas next year, or maybe stop by my hometown next year for Kinky in Kansas City? I have to meet her and tell her how much I love her stories!

The Queen of Rom-Com just delivered another amazing fun romantic book!
Tequila Tequila is about best friends to lovers but with a lot of laugh and tequila in between.
I fell in love with Luke & Aspen, they are adorable together, and I’m a sucker for BBF to lovers books, and Emma Hart just gave us one fantastic reading.
Aspen is kind of a friend everybody wishes for; she cares for them so deeply no matter what.
Luke, oh gosh, I swooned for him. He is just perfect, apart from his crazy family and even crazier friends, but they all are perfect do the way they are.
This book made my heart warm & happy, love & friendship and a lot of laughs.
Thank you, Emma, for another beautiful book.
5 heartwarming stars!
Aspen and Luke have been best friends forever. One night of tequila and they cross the line. Although it’s over before it even gets started. Aspen can’t believe how bad it was and wants to forget it ever happened. Luke wishes he could get a do-over. He can’t believe it was over so quickly. So they both pretend like they can’t remember the night, but they can.
Luckily tequila is involved again and Aspen tells Luke that she has a secret that she can’t tell Luke and proceeds to tell him. Luke wants another chance but Aspen is scared it will wreck their friendship.
What a great read! Of course, there’s a crazy grandma in it and her la chancla. You can’t help but laugh while reading this book and root for Luke!
It never ceases to amaze me how funny Emma Hart is! I am always cracking up at her books and Tequila, Tequila is no exception. Aspen is wonderfully sarcastic and has no filter with her best friend. Luke is very entertaining too, I absolutely love their friendship dynamics. They will do a lot for one another and really care, but they also know exactly how to push the others buttons. As a quick side note Luke’s family is so much fun to read about. I think his grandmother would get along well with another Italian grandmother from Holly Woods, just sayin.
I really liked seeing these two navigate through awkwardness and friendships and dirty dreams. They have such a natural chemistry and I liked seeing how it evolved with new feelings. I did like their best friend hook up storyline and that it didn’t feel like others that I have read. I really enjoyed these two so much and flew through this book!
Where to start with this book! It seriously had me laughing the entire time. The banter between not just Luke and Ashton, but the secondary characters was beyond entertaining. These two had chemistry in spades. Whether it was between the sheets or on their first date, they just fit. And, I feel like Abuelita needs to get an honorable mention here. She was definitely my favorite secondary character, and my goal in life has now become to be just like her when I get older lol.
A funny laugh out loud read that I would highly recommend!
She. Is. Back, and maybe I have been the one who has been missing, who knows. But I had discovered Emma Hart with the Holly Woods series that I had fell utterly in love with, I stalked, I counted down days until the next book would come read in a day and started counting again..And I know that there are other series that she has and I liked those two, but Holly Wood was love, and now Tequila Tequila is love again..It was Hilarious, it was just wonderful I can not say enough about it, I love the friendship with Luke and her other best Blaire those tend to be my favorite type of stories..Anywho I wont say more but implore you! I mean beg you! to grab a copy and give the Emma her due because she earned our devotion..Enjoy! because you will
OMG be prepared for sore ribs with Emma’s newest romcom! After a tequila filled night Aspen ends up in bed with her best friend Luke. And wah-wah, tequila gets the best of him and makes for a horrible mistake. Now mortified, Aspen fakes not remembering what happened to spare herself the embarrassment…but so does Luke! Cue the awkwardness! Aspen now has a dilemma: does she tell Luke the truth or leave him to his supposed memory ignorance? Her other best friend seems to think she needs to tell the truth. But Aspen doesn’t want to risk her friendship with Luke just to fix their mistake.
Luke cannot believe what happened. A night with Aspen and he’s an embarrassment to the virile male race. Tequila is not your friend in those intimate moments. But Aspen doesn’t remember their night…could that be a good thing? She doesn’t remember his embarrassing performance but he can’t seem to stop daydreaming what sober sex with Aspen could’ve been like. Another tequila night loosens Aspen up and her secret spills out…she LIED. She remembers it all and Luke isn’t wasting another chance.
Luke proves once and for all that tequila ruined his night and one sober time with Aspen is glorious. Crossing that line from friendship into a relationship is risky. But Luke believes they can survive the risk. After their twenty year friendship, they already know each other inside and out; all they have to add now is the romance portion. More nights together, a few actual dates, and Aspen is falling hard for Luke. Her trepidation at crossing the line with him dissipate as they take that final plunge and trust in their friendship as the foundation for a HEA.
Tequila Tequila you make me happy!
Anyone else end up dancing around singing the song when you say this book name?? lol
Emma has delivered a fantastically funny, gripping romcom. I could not put this down until I had devoured every word, then I wanted to open my bottle of Tequila 🙂
This is Aspen and Luke’s story and they have been friends since they were kids. They know each other better then anyone else. After a night with too many tequila’s they end up in bed and it doesn’t go well! tap-tap-squirt has now become one of my favourite phrases.
These two were so made for each other! They had been practically dating, just without the sex, up until this point. Once they get over the fake ‘I can’t remember what happened’ pretence they will see how good they actually are.
Oh how I loved Luke’s family and particularly his Abuelita, she is pure comedy gold, especially with her la chancla
Another fantastic read from Emma Hart. She never fails to entertain me with her brilliant combination of wit and romance.
Tequila Tequila is a very entertaining read. Emma Hart has written another witty, funny and very entertaining read!
This is the story about two best friends, who after drinking tequila the whole night have sex. Of course after that there are plenty of funny moments between Luke and Aspen. I really enjoyed reading about them. They are great characters. The chemistry between them is just amazing!
The story is easy to read, funny, entertaining, witty and wonderful! I really enjoyed it!
