TEQUILA + YOUR BEST FRIEND + YOUR BEDROOM = UM. WHOOPSIE?Don’t sleep with your best friend.Take it from me. I did it. And it was awful.
I-wish-the-tequila-made-me-forget kind of bad.
The problem is, Luke has forgotten. He swears that he can’t remember a thing about that night beyond the trays of tequila shots being set on the tables.
Except I can’t forget. I can’t forget how good his hands …
Except I can’t forget. I can’t forget how good his hands felt until I fell over and hit my hip on the dresser, and I sure as hell can’t forget the entire two minutes of tap-tap-squirt.
Awkward. Embarrassing. And the new subject of a couple of dirty lucid dreams.
But I have no intention of telling him what we did. Nothing good comes from telling your best friend he’s the worst guy you’ve ever slept with.
Which makes the tequila on my birthday a very, very bad idea…
One of the funniest, entertaining, sizzling hot rom-coms I have read in what feels like forever! Emma Hart OUTDID herself with her newest romance, Tequila Tequila. It was hilarious and swoon worthy and I couldn’t help but to laugh a lot and I darn well smiled throughout the whole book. It was exceptionally sexy and downright pleasing!
I really liked these characters. They were amazing and fun and the story was filled to the brim with equal amounts comedy and romance. It was spicy and sassy, sweet and amusing. Gah, how I LOVED IT! This rom-com is worth EVERY PENNY AND THEN SOME!
Tequila Tequila gets a WAY TOO MUCH FUN TO DESCRIBE IN THIS REVIEW FIVE AMUSING STARS!
Another amazing Emma Hart story!! Emma has this ability to take what should be a completely embarrassing situation and make it hysterically funny and relatable.
How many other opposite sex BFFs do you know that would drink too much tequila (who hasn’t done that?) and messed around with each other? It’s enough to make you as a reader cringe with the embarrassment right? I felt for Aspen while trying to navigate this mistaken “forgotten” night of sex.
I absolutely love every character Emma has ever created. There’s always at least 1 crazy eccentric person who has the BEST comebacks and one-liners. So much that I always want to make notes so I can use them.
Do yourself a favor and get Tequila Tequila and live vicariously through Aspen rather than have your own crazy drunken sex and embarrassing night with your friend.
I couldn’t have asked for a better read than this one right now. This book had me laughing and it was so light and good for my soul. It was a one sitting read for me as I really enjoyed it so much and just enjoyed the banter and wit.
What can I say about this book from Emma Hart….well we can start with funny as all hell and end on sexy.
This best friends romance will have you flipping pages in anticipation of what’s to come next between Aspen and Luke. Their banter throughout the story will have you laughing and smirking at their relationship.
Both trying to not see each other in a different light but failing miserably at every turn.
Let’s not forget the great secondary characters and Abuelita. Emma knows how to write the best grandmothers {ie: Holly Woods}
She was truly an added bonus to this story.
Tequila Tequila is one of my favorite reads of this year. If you are looking for a great quick and entertaining read look no further.
Tequila will always get you in trouble, it could be disastrous or it could be a good kind of trouble. Lifelong friends Aspen and Luke find this out the hard way.
This has to be one of my favorite friends to lovers books. It is hilarious, the characters are relatable and lovable, there is an awesome Abuelita and the story was so fun.
Aspen just had the worst tequila experience of her life and it may have just changed the dynamics of her friendship with Luke forever. How do you move past something like this? Pretend it never happened! That works somewhat for a very short time but then tequila comes back into the picture. Aspen is just such a sarcastic, fun, character. I loved watching her come to terms with her feelings for Luke. I was written in a way that you got to see her struggles with everything and her finally giving in to her feelings. It was very relatable.
Luke has been friends with Aspen since they were little kids. He has always been her best friend, her protector, her partner in crime, along with their other best friend Blaire. When he does something that may ruin everything, he doesn’t know what to do about it. I really enjoyed the duel pov so we not only saw Aspen’s struggles with coming to terms with everything but Luke’s as well. Luke is a great character with an awesome family.
Emma Hart knows how to write great characters and some of her best aren’t even the main characters. She writes the best grandparents and children. In this case Abuelita was so amazingly funny! She had me laughing every time she was around.
Emma Hart is the queen of romantic comedy and I can’t wait to see what she writes next.
Tequila Tequila by Emma Hart is her newest standalone contemporary romance release. A romance based on friendship and aided by tequila, this quirky humored, sarcastic, hilarious, and awkward story of two best friends will put a smile on your face from the first page to the last with quite a few laugh out loud moments in between.
Aspen and Luke have been best friends for over twenty years. But all that changes after one drunken night involving tequila, kissing and an awkward encounter in the bedroom. Both wake the next morning denying anything ever happened but are they telling the truth or do they both remember the terrible sex???
Keeping the peace may just mean denying it ever happened but when the way these two best friends look at each other now that their friendship blinders slipped loose could spell disaster for their current situation but all kinds of awesome for a new definition of best friends that includes romance.
Between a crazy flip-flop slapping abuelita and some other questionable friends can Luke and Aspen even stand a chance or will this rag tag group of family and friends be the ones to actually nudge them in the right direction? Loved this. Well-written and well-paced, Emma Hart just gets better and better with each release. Enjoy!
Tequila Tequila is by far my favorite romantic comedy of the year! It’s also tied as my favorite book by Emma.
I couldn’t get enough of Aspen, Luke, or they’re Tequila moments. They’re officially my favorite “friends to lovers” couple, too. I know, I’m throwing out a lot of “favorites,” but it’s so darn true! They were hilarious, and so incredibly adorable together at all times. Even during all the awkward, secretive moments. There was nothing I wanted more then for these two to come clean, give it and them, another try. I seriously forget the last time I was so intensely wrapped up in a RomCom couple like this.
Tequila Tequila was WAY MORE than I was expecting, and I was left devouring every word. I mean, I know when I pick up a rom com by Emma, I’ll love it. She never disappoints in putting me back in a “good reading mood.” However, there was just something extra special about this one. Everything from the “whoopsie moment,” the secondary characters, like Blair and Luke’s Abuelita, to Aspen’s intense love for Mexican food (I can relate!) was PERFECT!
This is Emma’s best Rom-Com to date! I loved it so much!! What happens when you mix tequila, bad sex and your best friend? Amazing things happen! This book was funny, awkward, and all around amazing! Luke’s grandmother will have you laughing out loud! I love the banter between these characters! You will love it!!
First there was tequila. A loooottt of tequila. The tequila led to kissing, which led to much more than kissing, and, well, when you’re doing much more than kissing with your best friend, it’s not a good thing. Or is it…?
As romantic comedies go, TEQUILA, TEQUILA is right on. Funny, snarky, sexy, author Emma Hart’s done it right. In Aspen and Luke, she’s written two people that go together in every other way, so it seems like, despite the bumps along the way, ending up together, and as more than BFFL’s, is their natural course.
Emma’s heroines are some of my favorites, because they’re always full of sass and not afraid to use it. Aspen’s take-n0-prisoners approach to life is the perfect foil to Luke’s ‘guy friend plus,’ and I thoroughly enjoyed watching them find their way to their HEA.
I always know what I’m getting when I crack open one of Emma’s books, and TEQUILA, TEQUILA does not disappoint. It’s a rollicking, laugh-out-loud (yeah, sorry about that, unsuspecting bystanders), feel good read that left me smiling, and it will you, too. Pour yourself your favorite beverage, settle in, and enjoy.
“Love is easy. Deceptively so. Loving someone is one of the easiest things you can do in your life, but putting that love into action? That’s the hard part. Telling someone you love them is terrifying. Reminding them you love them can be an uphill trek. Proving you love them can be something else altogether.”
Tequila Tequila is a fresh, fun and steamy romantic story that will make you laugh out loud from the very first page!
I had a blast reading Aspen and Luke’s story!
A few scenes made me laugh so hard that my stomach hurt , made me snort and even cry to the point that I had to put my kindle down.
« Because I knew one thing, no matter how badly the night had ended, kissing her had been a dream. »
Aspen and Luke are the epitome of what an old couple looks like, sounds like and acts like , except that they are both in their twenties. Luke is always hanging out with his best friend, stays at her place, sleep there and even has change of clothes there- I mean if you best friend does even go an buy tampons for you ….. this is for sure a true friendship!
However , they both have a secret that is affecting their relationship – after too many tequilas , they ended kissing and having sex but nope it wasn’t a a fairy tale- it was the worse sex EVER so no wonder they both want to forget about TAP TAP SQUIRT!
However , it’s difficult when Blaire , Aspen’s best friend, brings it up all the time. Even harder when Abuelita who is the « Mexican Gordon Ramsay » wants to play match maker.
We can deny that sober Aspen and drunk Aspen are both endearing , witty, sassy and hilarious. The banter between Aspen and Luke is first class and the chemistry between them MUY CALIENTE!
So what will happen? Can they both still remain friends? Is it friendship when you start having dirty dream about your best friend while he’s sleeping next door?
« Every day, every time I looked at Luke, it seemed like I had a reason to look at him in a new light, and looking at him as anything other than my best friend felt weird. »
If you’re looking for a LOL romantic comedy with great characters , this one is for you!
What a wonderful enjoyable entertaining story that had characters that made you fall in love with them and all their quirks!
Luke and Aspen have been best friends for twenty years and after a drunken night of doing it and pretending they both forgot, needless to say that what follows are some fun banter, great friendships and some truths get blurted out!
I absolutely loved Lukes grandma, she was a hoot, Id love one of her!
His family was too funny and rather out there crazy but also quite endearing!!
The flirting, the tension, the other best friend Blaire and her need to be direct and push both Aspen and Luke is too funny! I loved this easy to read friends to lovers story with a side of sarcasm that really touches your heart!!
What happens when you see your best friend in a different way??? Read this for yourself, you wont be sorry!
The queen of laughs, snark and rom com has done it again! Salt your glass, add the tequila to the shaker and shake, shake, shake for the perfect combination of a laugh out loud concoction. You will shake as much with laughter as the shaker did on Luke and Aspen’s fateful night.
This is a light, fun and hilarious read. It was just what I needed to put a smile on my face!
Another entertaining friends to lovers story by Hart. I’m always so impressed with how she always has at least one secondary character that steals the show. In this case, Luke’s grandmother is hysterical and completely stole the show. This book shows why she is one of my go-to authors.
4.5 Stars
Tequila, Tequila is the all new best friends-to-lovers novel by Emma Hart. It is a stand-alone so you don’t have to worry about reading anything beforehand. Ms. Hart proves once again that she is the queen of rom-com’s with a laugh out loud tears running down your face type of story. I swear no one can write heroines like she can. Aspen is one of a kind-she is a hot mess and sarcastic AF. And Luke is everything you’d want in a fictional man-hot, sweet, and one of a kind.
Luke and Aspen have been best friends for twenty years. They have an awesome friendship and are always together. Between busting each other’s chops and being fiercely loyal, they act like an old married couple. Well that is until one night, after consuming way too much tequila, they cross the line. And it was NOT an I-saw-stars type of night. So when both of them think the other doesn’t remember, they don’t bring it up. But what happens when feelings start develop? You’ll just have to read it to find out!!
I absolutely ADORED this book! I laughed out loud so many times and had the biggest smile on my face throughout the entire story. Tequila, Tequila was well written and I loved both Luke and Aspen so freakin’ much. I cannot wait to see what’s next for Ms. Hart!
This latest offering from Emma had me in stitches!! I wasn’t too sure at first, best friend to lovers doesn’t really do it for me, but these two, Luke and Aspen, worked really well together and the story really grew on me, to the point I couldn’t put it down and wanted to see if they were really gonna work out or not!!
You can literally blame this story all on the Tequila – Luke and Aspen had been best friends for years and had never thought about each other romantically until that one drunken night where the Tequila did the talking and the lines got crossed. A night to remember it was not, both of them were in a real state, and the actual deed was by far the worst Aspen had ever had – tap tap squirt and that’s your lot!! Both are so embarrassed and do not want their friendship to suffer, and so go about their lives as if nothing has happened and they can’t remember their little misdemeanor, when in reality both remember it and wish they couldn’t!!!
I loved their story when it got going – Aspen works in a bar, has a close bunch of friends, loves Mexican food and drinking. Luke works as a builder, has a body to die for (not that she has really noticed as his BF) and spends a lot of time with Aspen, he’s always there raiding her food, and they crash and watch tv together, sleep in the same bed, do everything that best friends do together – but this one drunken night puts this all at risk.
Luke has the maddest Mexican family, his Grandma is just crazy, but cooks the best Mexican food!! Aspen is already like part of the family and is constantly being offered various cousins in the family to date by Grandma! Aspen’s fridge and freezer are always stocked full of Grandma’s cooking!
I loved Luke and Aspen’s chemistry and their personalities just worked so well together, but they have a lot of issues to work out if they are ever going to move past that drunken night together. I was really rooting for them by the end of this book, hoping that they could make that transition from best friends to lovers without killing their friendship – but you’ll just have to read it to find out what really happens. Well worth the read!!
5 Who Knew Flip-Flops Could Be Dangerous Stars!!!
I’m a lover of all words written by Ms. Hart and with each book I fall more and more in love with her stories. Tequila, Tequila is at the top of my list of all time favorite friends-to-lovers books and I’m not sure how she’s going to top herself with the next book.
Luke and Aspen are besties and while they have fantasized over the years of what it would be like to be with each other, neither wanted to take that step because they didn’t want to lose their friendship. Well, that all ends one night when too much tequila is drunk and everything changes…problem is, is Luke doesn’t remember the night and fact that his lovemaking skills were less than rememberable!!
And so begins the dance of who remembers what and will this change them. With each page I turned I found something to laugh about. Aspen is a woman that is strong and independent but doesn’t really like talking to people unless they’re “her” people. Whereas Luke is more gregarious. I have to admit though, that while I laughed a lot when Aspen and Luke were together, some of the funniest moments came when her family, especially her abuelita, was in the scene. This tiny woman has no filter whatsoever, so you can only imagine what’s coming out of her mouth!!
I flew through this book because I didn’t want to miss anything and I really need the laughs this story brought to me. I loved how Luke loved Aspen and how he went about proving it in small ways. And when Aspen loves, she loves hard and forever so I just know their life together will be filled with humor, passion and love. And that to me is the best formula for a fabulous friends to lovers story!!
Tequila Tequila was not only humorous but witty. Best friends Luke and Aspen sleep together after one too many tequila shots waking up the next morning both thinking the other doesn’t remember. The book was a breath of fresh air compared to some of the more serious books I have been reading lately and you will fall in love with Luke’s Abuelita. Overall this was a nice refreshing and quick read that was enjoyable and ended with a HEA!
What’s more mortifying than sleeping with your best friend when you are drunk?
Ask Aspen and Luke and they will tell you…it’s bad sex, and pretending not to remember, and realizing the other does remember, and painful conversations you start after drinking too much tequila. And, haven’t we all been there?
Well, with the drunk thing…but maybe not the sleeping with your best friend thing. Or, if you have, I hope it went better than this started out…even though it all works out in the end.
Emma Hart writes fun, real characters who you laugh at…and with. Most of them you like (or all of them in my case), some of them you find a little loony…but you always know that when you pick up one of her books you are going to get the funny, sexy, hot read that you have come to expect from her.
This book was no exception. I enjoyed and recommend this title.
I received a copy and voluntarily left a review and all opinions are my own.
As always, I wait impatiently with butterflies fluttering in my stomach in anticipation of Emma Hart’s next read. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Aspen and Luke’s story Tequila, Tequila and find out exactly what goes on between these two after a drunken mishap that leads them on the road to love. I knew that there would be lots of laughter, steam, love, and did I mention a funny grandma? Because a wild and crazy family with a nosey grandma wielding a wooden spoon or in this case a “la chacla” is Emma’s MO when it comes to writing. Yet they are all so unique and inspire so much laughter that you can’t help but look forward to more. Emma Hart takes us to Port Wynne Texas to meet another outrageous and adorable family and see all the sparks explode between two long time best friends. So buckle up readers because Tequila, Tequila is full of humor, surprises, and lots of sexiness!
Aspen Camden is a hot mess that you can’t help but love with her sarcastic wit and obsession with wine, yoga pants, and Netflix. She is a girl after my own heart and I loved hanging out with this feisty heroine and watching her veg on the couch or down more shots that had her making some impulsive decisions that were quite entertaining and fun loving.
Luke Taylor pushed all of my buttons…maternal or otherwise with his charm, good looks, and inability to adult. He had me laughing from beginning to end and wishing for more time with this hot as hell book boyfriend. He may not have set off fireworks for Aspen on the fourth of July but he soon showed her what he was made of in the bedroom and kept a firm hold of her heart outside of it. I couldn’t help but fall for him from the first time I met him…hangover and all!
Emma Hart delivers a romcom that leaves us thinking about drunken hook ups that lead to love and all of the crazy antics that come along with it. I highly recommend Tequila, Tequila for a fun romp with best friends and other crazy characters to fall for. As always not only did Emma not disappoint but she excelled again at her ability to draw a reader into a story and leave them addicted to the characters. I hope to see much more of this fictional world…please, please, please Emma, we want more!
4.5 Stars!
No doubt about it, some of my worst hangovers and unforgettable shenanigans have been caused by Tequila, the deadly and potent elixir of the Mexican gods. And by deadly I mean most folks wish they were dead after consuming too much of it; either because of their hangovers or recalling their embarrassing antics, and wishing they were dead. This is what happens to Aspen and Luke, the main characters in Tequila, Tequila. This friends-to-lovers Romantic Comedy involves best friends and lots of Tequila and the aftereffects of a night drinking too much of it.
This hilarious romance has a cast of characters that I fell in love with, most especially Abuelita; a loving and meddlesome grandmother that rules her family, by threatening them into submission by the feared and dreaded “chancla” or sandal, to those of y’all not familiar with the word.
“Loving someone is one of the easiest things you can do in your life, but putting that love into action? That’s the hard part.”
Aspen Camden and Luke Taylor have been best friends for twenty years, since they were in kindergarten. When they realize they had drunken sex, after a night of drinking too much Tequila, they both pretend it didn’t happen. Aspen is adamant that this could kill their lifelong friendship while Luke is mostly embarrassed by his lack luster performance.
“This had the potential to ruin our friendship. Good sex may not have been an issue, but bad sex? The worst sex ever? Yep. That meant it was a goner.”
Aspen and Luke had that funny and easy dialogue that only people who’ve known each other their entire lives have. While Aspen was so reticent about them being more than friends, Luke was starting to have second thoughts and realizing it might not be such a bad idea. And the more people who found out, or were told, about that night weren’t so surprised as much as wondering why Luke and Aspen had taken so long to get together. Almost as if it were a given.
“Love is easy. Relationships are hard. But, if you love someone enough, nothing is ever too hard to fight for.”
I loved the interaction between Aspen and Luke, their friends, and his combative family. They all had me laughing out loud and wanting to drink a few shots of tequila, too. Accompanied by quesadillas and tacos, made by Abuelita!
“Egos always need feeding.”
“So do internet trolls, but it doesn’t mean you should serve them a three-course dinner.”
