TEQUILA + YOUR BEST FRIEND + YOUR BEDROOM = UM. WHOOPSIE?Don’t sleep with your best friend.Take it from me. I did it. And it was awful.
I-wish-the-tequila-made-me-forget kind of bad.
The problem is, Luke has forgotten. He swears that he can’t remember a thing about that night beyond the trays of tequila shots being set on the tables.
Except I can’t forget. I can’t forget how good his hands …
Except I can’t forget. I can’t forget how good his hands felt until I fell over and hit my hip on the dresser, and I sure as hell can’t forget the entire two minutes of tap-tap-squirt.
Awkward. Embarrassing. And the new subject of a couple of dirty lucid dreams.
But I have no intention of telling him what we did. Nothing good comes from telling your best friend he’s the worst guy you’ve ever slept with.
Which makes the tequila on my birthday a very, very bad idea…
Emma Hart has given me one incredible read! What you will get is an entertaining story-line, some laugh out loud funny moments and a lot of sexy good romance.
Tequila, Tequila was a quick and easy read for me. It is an exciting story about two best friends, who after a night of downing tequila shots, have drunk, awkward and embarrassing sex. This of course leads to a lot of fun, flirty and witty moments.
I was immediately pulled into Luke and Aspen’s story. I loved their chemistry and the connection that they shared. Their banter was hilarious and they both gave as good as they got. Their story was smart, sexy, laugh out loud funny and overall, just really entertaining.
There is just so much to love about this book and it is definitely one of my favorite new romantic comedies. I absolutely love Emma Hart’s writing style and her incredible sense of humor. I am just dying to see what she has in store for us next.
Oh – My – Lanta!! I feel like this entire review should just be a fit of laughter with occasional signs and sweetness that is just what we’ve come to love and expect from Emma Hart. The opening scene was amazingly awkward and off-the-charts hilarious and made me fall instantly for Aspen. The things she thinks is way too honest; albeit completely blunt (read funny as hell). Luke and Aspen are my absolute favorite characters that Emma Hart has created… ok… I love all the characters. Luke’s family is one of a kind and his grandmother, Abuelita, she’s just my favorite ever!!! The banter in this book is unlike anything I’ve ever read. It’s beyond hilarious and it just plain makes Tequila Tequila even better!
Emma Hart says the things we all think in our head but don’t say out-loud because we have that brain-to-mouth filter all her characters lack. No complaints from me, I love that about her characters. I love the raunchy and preteen boy humor she tosses out. It goes start to my pre-pubescent boy heart…. we all have that 12 year old boy living inside us… Ms. Hart just brings it out!
I’m always so tickled when I dig into an Emma Hart book. I just can’t help it… it’s like a compulsion especially once I met Luke and Aspen. Tequila Tequila really had some of the best characters. It wasn’t only a completely hilarious book but sweet story too that tugged at my heart strings. Emma Hart gives us real, flawed people. People that work at bars, people that waitress, people that police or teach… really people that I can actually relate too. Real people that I’d actually like. Loved every single bit of this story! I think most will too especially if you like to smile!
I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that… my opinions.
A substantial amount of tequila ingested at one night may not end well. Having sex with your best friend, whom you’ve known for more than twenty years, is probably a clue that this night would not work. The fact that it was the worst sex of her life was only the bonus on that completely disastrous night. Who would have thought that two minutes (yes, two minutes) and a fake orgasm would make those two beg for an amnesia. Too bad the next day, she remembers. And so did he.
Aspen and Luke have been best friends the whole life. Thinking that the other was too drunk to remember, neither of them talk about it, and they try to leave it in the past and move on. But that night changed the way they looked at each other. Aspen begins to find her friend very attractive, and if the erotic dreams she’s having are a sign, something is very wrong with her. Luke can not forget the smile, the body, the way Aspen moved beneath him. The two are in trouble.
The line between friendship and something else was completely wide open. Is it possible to return to friendship as if nothing had happened, or could these new feelings that have surfaced put everything to waste? Is it worth risking something right, for an uncertain romance?
The book is very funny, well written, with good characters, good plays and secondary characters that add up. I loved the friendship of Aspen and Luke, the way they interact, as they know each other. Such friendships are rare, but they do exist. The book was very real at this point. It’s easy to identify with the characters. All questions, doubts, fears are plausible. There is much to lose if things do not work out. But there is also much to gain.
The tequila that gives name to the book is a constant in the narrative. Too much. Aspen and Blaire could open a distillery.
Luke’s grandmother was the only thing I did not like. It works as a comic relief, but I have said a few times that I have problems with these stereotypical matriarchs who think they rule the family and everything has to be their way. I’m sorry, I do not have the patience for these kinds of people. It is very easy to confuse values and tradition with manipulation.
Tequila Tequila is a novel, with young, real and human characters. A reading that can warm a heart. Who better to be your companion than your best friend? Sometimes what you’ve been looking for a long time, is right in front of you all the time.
Aspen and Luke have been best friends forever. They do and share everything together from their awkward first kiss, to prom dates in school to nights out, sleepovers and daily dinners as adults. They’ve never crossed the line, however, until a night of way too much tequila.
What happens would be best forgotten . . .especially since Luke’s “performance” was tequila made me do it bad. Unfortunately for Aspen, she remembers everything, even though Luke seems to have forgotten thanks to a night of excessive drinking. Even worse, she can’t forget. It’s awkward. It’s embarrassing. It’s causing impure thoughts and very naughty dreams. But, how can she possibly tell Luke what happened knowing it could potentially ruin their friendship forever?
Just when I thought there was no way Emma Hart could get any funnier, out comes Tequila, Tequila! Honestly, this book is laugh out loud funny and the stuff of nightmares for best friends now caught in the awkward we just had the worst sex ever, now how can we possible go back to being only friends again stage of their relationship.
The back and forth banter is hilarious between Luke and Aspen. Add in their crazy and outspoken friend Blaire and Luke’s opinionated and matchmaking grandmother and things get even wilder than before!
What I really loved, however, is how vulnerable both Luke and Aspen are. Their friendship is so important to both of them, they really are willing to do just about anything to preserve it . . . even pretend that the night of sex never happened. They are so perfect for each other and watching them realize that they kind of have been dating all along without the actual dating is romcom gold.
This friends to lovers romance was off the hook funny with plenty of swoon-worthy moments to balance out the comedy. All you need to add is a wedge of lime and some salt to go along with Emma Hart’s Tequila, Tequila. 5 stars!
I adored the hell out of this book. It’s quirky and funny and very relatable!
Emma Hart has once again given us an immensely hilarious laugh out loud rom com that will have you begging for more. Tequila, Tequila is a friends to lovers romance that was equal parts sexy and funny with a side of sweet, that had me devouring chapter after chapter. This read quickly became a favorite because of the awesome one-liners and the relatable relationship between Aspen and Luke. If you LOVE romantic comedies as much as I do then you definitely will LOVE this book!

Review:
This was a typical Emma Hart book. It had fun banter, funny moment, over the top family members and some Spanish/Mexican influences.
I don’t know if Emma’s inspiration comes from real live family members or not but I know for sure I wouldn’t be able to handle the crazy grandma’s and family members. They are so over the top and meddling with everything. It would drive insane haha
This book is about two friends who have a drunken moment together that they they the other can’t remember. They try to remain just friends as they don’t want to ruin their friendship. Both of them start to develop feelings for the other without the other realizing. A real friends to lovers book.
Overall it was a fun read.

4 I liked it stars
Emma Hart writes the best lol crazy funny stories! Such a fun read. Great characters totally relatable Never disappoints!
This review is for an ARC and is my unbiased, honest opinion.
Let me start by saying this book had some really great aspects to it. I loved Luke’s family, the small town vibes, the ongoing mentions of food, and the overall story line. Having said all that, this one didn’t work for me 100%. I struggled with the maturity levels of practically everyone mentioned. The amount of eye rolls I made in this one…
First off, I’m not much of a drinker. It’s just not my thing. So I may be off but it seemed like this group was a little old for the getting “black out drunk” phase. Once again, that’s just coming from someone who doesn’t really drink.
I also felt we harped on the “oh man, we’re best friends how will we ever be romantic?” way too much. Like I get it, you are best friends who want more….either try or move on. Clearly this was a case of everyone knowing they should be together except the actual couple. I felt it was just common sense based on their attraction level to give this thing a go. I’m sure it’s awkward moving from a platonic relationship to an intimate one, but they would’ve transitioned flawlessly if they had just gotten out of their own heads.
Okay, negative stuff out of the way and onto the positive. Luke’s Abuelita stole the show for me lol. I loved how passionate she was for her family. I also loved her passion for cooking. I swear I was drooling over all these food references. It made me wish I had her in my family.
Overall, I enjoyed this one but didn’t love it. I’m still a fan of this author and her writing, it’s just that this one didn’t knock it out of the park for me. But that’s okay, we can’t love every single book we pick up.
Aspen and Luke were best friends for over 10 years until Tequila happened. Crazy side characters like Luke’s family. Slow start to story the first time I tried to read stopped after 2 chapters. Love Emma’s work so I continued through. Not her best work but still a good read.
Too much tequila has never been Aspen’s friend. When tequila has her making out with her best friend that ends with a very disappointing sexual escapade she doesn’t know how she is going to move on. When it appears, Luke doesn’t know what happened either she comes to terms with forgetting the tap, tap, squirt ever happened. As the weeks go by they both come to realize that they both know what happened and that they may actually want more. Can two life long best friends really become more or will their friendship implode?
This was such a fun read. Aspen and Luke were fantastic. It was really entertaining seeing how their first sexual encounter is discussed throughout the first part of the book. Not to mention as they start to admit they feel more than friendship for each other. I do think that the best part of this book were the side characters. Abuelita, Blaire, Tom, Justin and all of Luke’s family. They really added a great insight to the depth of their relationship already. Luke and Aspen were definitely a meant to be couple but taking that leap to the next level really added the angst that anyone would feel. If you are looking for a great rom com, look no further. Emma Hart never disappoints.
love everything Emma Hart writes and this is no exception. The conversations between Luke and Aspen was so funny but they were also so sarcastic and crazy I sometimes felt like I couldn’t keep up even I ain’t that crazy
This was a sweet friend to lovers story with so much humor and love you just can’t not like it.
Best friends since a young age Luke and Aspen did almost everything together. Then one night after to much Tequila that results in “Tap, tap, squirt” and changes it all. However, will it change for the better or ruin years of friendship? After awhile, they both realize that a relationship could or should be the next logical step for them because they know everything about each other and can skip the awkward step of actually dating.
Emma Hart really has a way with words that draws you in and keeps you reading. Like her other books this one sucked me in and kept me reading until the end.
Brutal. I usually enjoy Emma’s books. Their banter wasn’t cute or funny. And the constants scenes about Luke’s “abuelita” were annoying.
What a great story about two best friends, Aspen & Luke, who after one tequila induced night of not the best sex, each claims to not remember, like tap, tap, squirt, will it ruin their friendship forever?
Great banter between the characters and true fears that it will ruin their close relationship! Throw in Luke’s crazy family, and the conversations in this story will have you peeing in your pants!! 5 stars, Emma Hart has a knack for these kinds of stories! 5 stars grab this asap!!
Oh my goodness, this has to be one of my favorite romantic comedies of 2018!!!!
As Hart writes in her synopsis, “Tequila + Your Best Friend + Your Bedroom= Um. Whoopsie?”
That is exactly what happened one drunken night between Aspen and Luke. It should be easy to forget, especially since it wasn’t any good. Yet, they can’t even though they both are acting like neither one remembers it. Instead of putting it behind them, it seems to open up feelings they never thought they would have for one another. What ensues is a funny, heartwarming, and sexy read!
Hart always creates these larger than life and quirky characters, and the ones in this book are just as good! Oh my God, Luke’s family deserve an entire series written about them, especially his Abuelita!!! I want to be her when I grow up!
One of the things I loved most about these two is the friendship they have shared all these years. They really are an extension of one another and complete one another. They were both down to earth and so funny! Their banter is the centerpiece of the book and their relationship, and I loved that it was told from each of their POVs. I fell in love with both of them….I mean head over heels. I loved each awkward, sweet, silly, and sexy moment they shared!!!!
I can always count on Emma Hart to give me a sexy yet sweet story with great characters and a ton of laughs. Tequila Tequila was no different!!! She gave me all the things I love about her, and it’s all those things that make her one of my very favorite writers!!!! If you haven’t discovered the force that is Emma Hart, what are you waiting for!!!!!
4.5 STARS
Between fits of giggles, I quickly figured out this book is AWESOME!! It’s everything I’ve come to love and expect from Emma Hart’s books. They are over the top hilarious rom coms with a dash of wit, truck loads of sarcasm and oozing with charm. Let’s not forget all the feels!
Speaking of feels – I can’t get over the first real kiss!! I was SWOONING. Never have I ever read a kiss that gave me fairytale goosebumps. I was lightheaded from reading that scene. I mean come on! THAT was an incredibly special moment
Luke and Aspen are a perfect match. Best friends for life, plus plus plus haha. Dating long before they knew it, all it took was one night and a ton of Tequila to get this romantic train chugging. And the rest was as it should be, the perfect blend of fears, tears and ultimately a dreamy HEA. What more could a rom com lover ask for!
Emma Hart continues to be a favorite romantic comedy author for me. Hands down one of the funniest for sure! Tequila Tequila is a can’t-miss read!
What a great read!! Love the great banter between all of the characters. Emma Hart is my go to for a good laugh when I’m feeling down! This friends to lovers rom-com has you laughing so hard you cry at points. Love the way the flow is seamless between the character’s point of view.
Tequila Tequila is hilarious, I laughed out loud many times throughout. It started out strong and just kept getting better. I love the banter between Aspen and Luke, their sarcasm, and overall the two of them together. Aspen is a snarky hot mess and is quite relatable. Luke’s abuelita is hilarious and I love when she shows up. Who knew tequila and bad sex with your best friend could result in such a great story. I highly recommend it
Final Score – 4 Stars!
Tequila Tequila is friends to lovers romance. It had hilarious, laugh out loud moments that had my head pounding in pain – both in fun and in sickness (it didn’t help that as I began to read this I had my infamous migraines but I had a deadline to meet so, yannow …). It often made it difficult to laugh when I really want to cry – but somehow I managed to – it was that entertaining!
Aspen and Luke’s friendship, personalities, and overall banter drew me in from the start – migraine be damned! I just couldn’t put them down – although at time I did have to, which is why it took me five (5) days to finish this gem. But I wouldn’t change it because I took my time, got a flavor for them both and savored it.
This is a definite must read – especially if you are an Emma Hart fan. She’s truly out done herself with one!
