One kinky wood carver. One younger chef looking to try new things. A series of lessons that bring both men more than they bargained for… get lost in grief for his dead lover. It’s been two years, but he’s sure he’ll never be over the love of a lifetime. However, his body has a certain restlessness that he doesn’t quite know how to calm.
Logan Rosner knows a thing or two about restlessness. It’s what drove him to Rainbow Cove to be a chef at a bar and grill run by his friends. And it’s what drives him to a single sizzling encounter with the local legendary lumberjack. Both men get far more than they expected and learn that first impressions aren’t always accurate…
But when Logan proposes a series of sexy lessons, Curtis must decide how much he’s willing to risk. He knows he can’t afford to get attached to Logan’s good cooking, his easy smiles, or his caretaking, but he keeps going back for more, even as deeper emotions become involved. Soon, Curtis must decide whether to risk his heart again or risk losing Logan for good.
Tender with a Twist is a 79,000 word stand-alone gay romance with a May/December theme, featuring a second chance at love, opposites attract, loads of sexy times with mild BDSM elements, and one emotionally-charged, guaranteed happy ending with no cliffhangers.

I was set not to like this as much as the first. I was wrong. My heart was breaking for Curtis half the time and Annabeth did a lovely job of showing Curtis blooming from the grief he’d been using as a shield to protect himself from further hurt.
Oh my heart.
Lovely.
Wood carver Curtis is famous in the town for his eccentricity, having lost the love of his life to an auto accident two years previous. Logan is the babyfaced chef at a new tavern that Curtis’ best friend frequents (Nash is the MC of the first Rainbow Cove book, which is also well worth the read!!) and the two start off rocky–until an encounter with a pushy asshole on Leather Night starts them on a course towards mutual self-fulfillment.
Loved this book! Super super hot BDSM sex scenes with a younger dom and rough-around-the-edges sub, just the way I like my D/s dynamics. This starts as a fuck-buddy kind of arrangement, but quickly grows into more as Logan tries to get past Curtis’ defenses. SO many sweet moments and lots that will make your heart ache. Highly recommend!
I loved Curtis and Logan. Logan really made things a little hard for Curtis because the age thing, but their relationship grew beautifully. I am not big on BDSM but it was mild so I was able to enjoy the story line. Great book
This is book 2 in the series. I listened to the audiobook. Best read the books in order. This is a mm contemporary story set in USA. Main characters are chef Logan and widowed whittler Curtis. Curtis is a grump old man, Logan breaks down his defences. Enemies to lovers. I enjoyed this.
Sweet and Hot!
Logan and Curtis were a mix of sweet and smoking hot at the same time. The naughty scenes were so hot I had to make sure I wasn’t in public reading and then the sweet parts were extra swoon-worthy. Curtis has so much love to give, he just had to open up and want to live again. Highly recommended read!
Any book book that starts with a shirtless and tattooed lumberjack has my attention! Logan and Curtis are both equally hot in their own ways. I am in love with this series and I cannot wait for Adam to fall, it’s gonna be a doozy! Love, love, love it!
Now this is what I’m talking about. I love this series. It feels like Rainbow Cove is our own community and the residents our friends. While Mason and Nash had to deal with outside drama in Trust With A Chaser, here Logan and Curtis were dealing with their inner demons. Watching them grow and learn throughout the story was my favorite. Like watching the sun rise on a new day. A truly beautiful story and a wonderful read from page one to the last page. While each of Annabeth Alberts’ stories are different in many ways, she always delivers a real emotional read that leaves you smiling st the end.
Tender with a Twist is the second book in the Rainbow Cove series it can be read as a standalone but believe me you will want to read the first book as well. This series is not only sweet and sexy it delves into different issues, with the first book Trust with a Chaser, Nash, the Chief of Police in the Small Town of Rainbow Cove, was so far in the closet I really feared he’d never come out, and in this story Curtis had the love of his life, Troy, who died in an accident two years ago leaving Curtis bitter and hating the world, he was never letting anyone into his heart again.
Curtis may seem rough around the edges but that was the wall he erected around his heart so that he would never be hurt again, in reality he was a sweet and loving man that needed someone with a strong hand to help him find his way again and indulge his inner pain slut. Logan was a surprise, this baby face chef was a Dom, who knew! Not many as he kept that side of himself a secret from even his closest friends, this wasn’t something new for Logan but he was never able to be the Dom he wanted to be with his ex because Seth wasn’t into kink….well actually he wasn’t into a whole lot of things, which meant Logan was never able to pursue his innermost desires.
If I had to point out one thing about this book that I didn’t like it would have to be Logan’s parents and the way they kept trying to push him back with his ex, and Troy’s mother who didn’t believe Curtis should move on, other than that I loved everything. Chef by day Dom by night, Logan, was trying to find who he really was int he bedroom and outside of it and in the process stole my heart. I know a lot of people LOVE chainsaw woodcarver Curtis and I do too but for me it was Logan that really made me melt. I loved the way he was open to trying new things to see what worked for him and he didn’t shy away from the way he felt about Curtis even though they kept their relationship, or should I say lessons, secret from everyone. Logan was all in from the very beginning he just needed to get Curtis to the same place he was.
This was a great addition to the series and I cannot wait to see what comes next!
