My first historical romance and now I can’t get enough!! Love this series
This is a brilliantly plotted, witty, and sensuous tale of a blue stocking spinster with a gazillion secrets and a well-educated lord, who wants to escape his adoring admirers. The problem is neither one can resist the other. Lovely romp through rural Regency England!
Ten Ways to Be Adored When Landing a Lord is book two in the Love by Numbers series by Sarah Maclean. This is Lord Nicholas St. John’s story. Nicholas is a complex character, and I enjoyed discovering him. There are numerous steamy scenes. The following is one of my favorite quotes. “Do you? Do you know how much I want you?” She could not look at …
Satisfying Read, Light On Drama
Nicholas and Isabelle are likable characters, each needing to trust the other with their vulnerabilities. The supporting characters also add interest. The story is cute. It didn’t engage me emotionally, but it was a worthwhile read.
I enjoyed this book more than the first one in the series. Partly because I loved Nick in book one with his easy-going personality. (Of course it’s easy to be when you’re not responsible for the running of the estate.) The twins’ relationship is warm with a close bond: Gabriel had looked out for Nick since they’d been orphaned.
I always enjoy …
Sarah MacLean is always great. This title is a great one of three in this mini series with some of the same characters, which always makes my reading more fun. I also like that some characters reappear in later books. This author keeps getting better and better.
Wonderful second book to this series. Lord Nicholas sent to find the missing sister of a Duke finds himself and his Turkish friend, Rock, in Yorkshire. Nick is an expert in antique marbles and a tracker. He meets Lady Isabel, the daughter of a deceased wastrel Earl who cares for nothing and nobody except himself. Isabel is left with a 10 year …
3.5 stars, I liked it but not really my favorite.
Mostly because I find Nick’s kind of annoying. His attitude is a bit off to me, I was expecting him to be more strong. But I love Isabel’s wit. She’s funny and strong and willing to sacrifice herself for the sake of her family. What a heroine.
Overall I liked this book a bit better than book 3 …
