The book had a really good plot but the research & writing was weak, not really believable, and written at about a 3rd grade level
Realistic — could actually happen in today’s world.
WOW! Fast action. Unexpected ending. Interwoven story lines. Page turner…Read this in about three days/evenings. Too realistic to be ingnored. Hold your children close as you allow them to grow up into responsible adults.
This book kept me glued to it. A horrific tale about 10 young girls kidnapped and literally no trace. They start showing one every few days…dead. The Mother’s and Father’s aree naturally horrified and traumatized. There are twists and turns and events continue to worsen. You will have to read it to find out what happens…believe me when I say you will have no choice but to keep reading…
Really good book!! read it in a day
Felt as if the book was too simplistic.
This has potential to be a great story but missed the mark in my opinion. Some of the character actions were a stretch as far as believability. The ending was abrupt and left an unpleasant, unfinished aspect. I think the intention was to be a shocker ending but again I think it missed the mark.
Page turner… the story was riveting- taken from real life events.
Willow does an excellent job developing her characters while building on the story. She inserts twists when you least expect it. This book is hard to put down.
I would recommend reading this book. It’s very entertaining.
I enjoy following the author. Same main character, new setting. The plot is a bit of a stretch, and you have to suspend disbelief. But if you can do that, it is a quick-paced novel with a great twist at the end.
The book starts with the story of ten little girls from a wealthy Cocoa Beach neighborhood being kidnapped. The oldest, Julie, is a sixth grader, the youngest, Nikki, a first grader. Apparently at dismissal time, someone escorted the girls to a different bus and took them away. When none of the girls arrive home on their usual school buses, parents realize that someone has taken them. Readers feel the anguish of the parents and also the fright of the girls who are put into an underground container with boxes of cereal, bottles of water and pots in which to relieve themselves. Rebekka Franck, Julie’s mother, works with Detective jack Ryder to try and find the girls. When Nikki becomes feverish, and stops eating, Julie tries to take care of her. Readers agonize with Julie, only a sixth grader, as she tries to care for Nikki and wonders if the girls will be found before they run out of food and water and die. Readers also wonder why a completely different story is included in the book. The author switches back and forth from the story of the ten missing girls to a story about Jane, the mother of five children, who lives with Bob, her abusive husband who constantly finds excuses to beat her. When Bob breaks the nose of one of their children, Jane leaves him, taking the children to a shelter for abused women. A social worker finds fault with Jane, not Bob, and takes the children away from her, giving them to Bob’s relatives. Readers wonder if Jane will ever get her children back and what is happening to the children because each time Jane sees them, one of them is always hurt. I could not put the book down and read it into the night. I wondered if the kidnapped girls would be found alive and also, if Jane would ever get her children back.
I couldn’t get interested.
Scary especially since taken from true events.
Great read!
Fast reading and lots of twists and turns. Scary for any parent!
A fast paced read. Hard to put down.
