Ten Hours

As I write this review, I’m still wiping the tears from my eyes. This is such a beautiful, heartbreaking love story. It was so beautiful to witness the love, that Finley & Abel had for each other, blossom before my eyes. My heart broke from all that Finley had to endure, before she found her sister, Claire & in turn, Abel. She met him at just the right time. It was Kismet, pure and simple. It was amazing to see how quickly they recognized a kindred spirit in the other. I also loved seeing their love grow deeper & deeper, the longer they were together. I loved how Finley couldn’t believe how amazing Abel was, and question that it wasn’t all a wonderful dream. I absolutely loved Abel’s character, from the moment he was introduced into the story. I also really loved Claire. What an amazing sister to have. Melissa has done a beautiful job writing such a heartfelt & heartbreaking story. I loved the little details, she threw in, for the booklover in me. Finley’s love of reading, how reading made her feel, and all those books she had.
I would definitely recommend this book to any fans of Melissa’s writing. I would recommend this book to any fans of Emma Scott’s writing too. This is a Must Read.

Man this story almost kill me with all the crying I went through reading Abel and Finley story I spend the whole night up until the very end. This story was beautiful writing and the pain, the happiness Abel and Finley went through was a rollercoaster of emotions that I couldn’t find my way out off. And that ending I hope there would be more of Abel I would love to see what will become of him because for me a story can’t end that way so I hope we do get more I need him to find happiness.

Ten Hours is heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time. Finley is a 19 year old who has just been told that she has a malignant brain tumor. She goes into a bar to escape going home for a bit. There she meets Abel. Abel is a 25 year old musician. He is the youngest in a large family and is considered the black sheep for not going to college. They hit it off pretty quickly and spend the next ten hours making beautiful memories. This story was sometimes hard to read because of how emotional it was for me. But I felt the love between Finley and Abel was beautiful. I loved that he gave her so many good memories that she wouldn’t have had without him.

When Finley left North Carolina to escape her junkie mother over a year ago, she never looked back. Only now, she’s learned she has a brain tumor, it’s cancer and in two days they’re going to operate to remove it. The odds aren’t in her favor, they’re only giving her a 30% chance of survival. She’s not ready to tell her sister Claire, the only person she really has in this world. So after hours of wandering, she finds herself in a bar. It doesn’t matter that she’s only 19, she just knows she needs to go in.

There she meets Abel, and over the next 10 hours, a connection is built. One that each of them knows is the link that completes them. But scared she’s going to die, Finley walks away leaving Abel desperate to find her.

Tissues, you’re going to need tissues because once the tears start, they aren’t going to stop. This is so well-written, I love Finley and Abel together, and I love their relationship. I found myself highlighting so many things one of them said to the other that just hit me, this is only one: “She blinds me with a light I feel like I’ve spent my whole life searching for.” *swoon*. Such a great read!

As I began reading this book I wondered if it was going to be one of those books where everything just falls into place or give me the emotional ride of a lifetime. It was definitely the second and have your Kleenex right beside you. OMG!!!
My heart was broken for Finley the moment the book began. I can’t imagine what she was going
through and only having her sister beside her to help her through everything. At nineteen to be faced with such a turn of events was so heartbreaking and I truly was crossing my fingers that everything would work out.
Abel was an awesome character and so full of life. I liked that he was the black sheep of his family and followed his own dreams. I loved how determined he was to find Finley when she disappeared and that showed me how in love he was with her.
I kind of figured that things would come out after everything with his mom and I was just waiting for it.
I liked how everything began to fall into place after that and Abel and Finley became such a good pair and had so much fun together.
Then in a moment my heart began to freak out and the fight that occurred was huge and the tears
began. The trip in the van was so awesome and I loved it soooo much!!! I loved what happened in Vegas and also the tattoos!!!
My heart just shattered and I want more but I am terrified to ask for more!! By Rebecca

OMG…This book is ABSOLUTELY the BEST emotional, ugly cry read that I have read this year. It’s beyond a 5 Star read!! Is there even enough stars for this book???

Finishing this book left me a total hot mess. Talking about pulling on the heart strings this book did just that to me. I had snot pouring makeup smeared all over my face….oh yeah…literally a hot mess after reading.

I FLOVED the whole story line. This book sucked me into the story from the very beginning and I couldn’t put it down. I felt Finley & Abel’s every emotion possible throughout the story. The instant love between these two soulmates is so beautifully and accurately written in this book. I loved these two and their story and they will forever have a place in my heart.

I love Melissa Toppen’s writing and this may be the BEST so far in my opinion.

ABSOLUTELY LOVED, LOVED, LOVED!!!! A TOTAL MUST READ!!!

This is such an amazing, very emotional, sweet beautiful love story that had my attention from page one. Finley and Abel truly stole my heart for everything these two are going through. It’ll leave you crying at times and laughing at some and just emotionally pulling at your heart strings the whole time. These two were truly meant for each other and I absolutely loved the connection they had since the moment they metw, it was absolutely breath taking. It definitely left me wanting more and not wanting it to end!

What an incredible love story. Finley’s background is a tough one and when her world is turned on its axis she meets Abel. The love these two share is an incredibly tragic but beautiful story that has left me in tears. Melissa Toppen did a phenomenal job in writing these characters and all they are going through to bring the reader right there in the moment

Wow! Let this author, Melissa Toppen take you on an emotional rollercoaster.
It all begins in a doctors office where 19 year old, Finley, is being told she has a brain tumour. She blocked out most of what he was saying other than they will need to operate to remove the tumour which only had a 30% survival rate. She left the office stunned and walked the streets, when she saw a bar and decided to go in. She had never been in a bar before so this was a first of many firsts to come. She had moved to Chicago to be with her older half sister and get away from her drug abusing mother.

As she sat at the bar a young man approached her, his name was Abelt, he started to make small talk. All that went through her mind was how lovely he was, the feeling was mutual. That is the beginning of the best ten hours of her life. He knew nothing of her illness and that was how she left it when she slipped out his apartment in the early hours of the morning.

This author takes you on a very emotional journey if I had to pick on something it would be in a couple of places it was a little repetitive, but the story line makes up for it. Yes I did laugh and yes I did cry. A recommended unique romance story.
