Go-getter Georgia Paxton has ten days to acquire a quaint hotel in the Scottish Highlands for her travel accommodation company before she’s off on her next grand adventure. Too bad the sexy, broody Scot who owns the place is dead against the idea…and she’s in very real danger of losing their little bet to see who can convince who first. There’s no way Callum MacGregor is going to let the … let the gorgeous American turn his tiny hometown over to bored tourists looking to satisfy their Outlander fantasies. He only has ten days to convince her to slow down and see the magic of the town and its people. If he succeeds, he won’t have to run her out of the county. But if he fails, Georgia might run off with his heart.

First off I love Hayson’s writing. She’s such a great author. If you haven’t read her books you really should start. This book was so sweet and filled with snark and sass! Typical for a Hayson book. She knows exactly how to keep her readers entertained and her books aren’t really filled with tons of sex scenes like some other authors will fill the pages. There’s some build up in this book. For some that may be off putting but for me it’s the thrill of the chase like Wayne Carini would say . Callum and Georgia had such a sweet story filled with passion, kindness and innuendo . Boy was there innuendo that had me laughing so hard. Hayson always knows how to make me laugh and her books have the appropriate amount of snark in her books that I love so much. It’s not over the top, it’s just right. It’s so flirtatiously funny that you find yourself smiling like a dork as you read. I can’t say how much I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was filled with so many good characters that I want to read more about. Another thing that makes Hayson such an excellent writer is that her books for filled with brilliant side characters that fill the book that make it interesting. These characters all have stories and she fills the book with just enough information that we the reader know about them and get a sense enough about these characters to start to care for them as well. So as we read we’re not just there for the two main leads. We start to develop feelings and a sense of caring for the whole town. I know I did at least. I wanted that town to prosper but in the right way. I cared about Robert and about Mary and Ainsley and about Maud and want to know more bout Indiana and Grace. The only person I didn’t care too much about was Hamish because it was known he was a lady slayer and I don’t like that he had his eyes set on ainsley. He may like her and may have good intentions and may even have not dated while he’s been after Ainsley but I do not like his methods. Using head games and jealousy is a punk ass move. You don’t win a woman’s heart this way. Especially a widower. You win that by honesty and just slow and easy going. Do it by the numbers, by merit. Not by head games. So he lost major points with me. I don’t care how great a guy he is. Ainsley is worth more than that. Just my .02 on that matter. Also two things that was also hilarious no one mentions Georgia’s rental car. I will leave it at that and Delilah. I love that goat to pieces but one thing that isn’t touched on is that if anyone has ever been around a goat they will like no ones business at will and at random times and they will take car trips with the animal that consists of like 20 min drives most likely. No way that goat isn’t filling up the jeep with nuggets of . So yeah. There’s that. That being said this book was so awesome and I just loved it. I’d love to read an update on this book. It was so well written. I’m leaving so much out of this review. So much was touched on. The beauty of Scotland, the local folklore, the love of community, fellowship and family and the beauty of the outdoors. These are all very special things and these are all things Hayson touches on in each of her books. She always manages to incorporate friendship, fellowship, togetherness and community in her books. It’s something special and if you know to look for it you will see it. This bear gave this book 5 cosmic stars and 5 meteors for greatness!! Pick up this book! You’ll love it!
What a fun story! The characters are charming, the town is magical, and Hello Kitty and Delilah are enchanting. Folklore and quirky customs abound. Callum has lived the corporate life and you couldn’t pay him all the money in the world to go back to it. Georgia is the ultimate corporate girl filled with wanderlust. Nothing good can come from the attraction they feel toward one another, right? Right? Join a simpler life where time has stood still and people truly care for one another. You’re gonna love it!
This book made me want to visit Scotland! Seriously, this was very sweet and charming. And there is some very fun flirting involving an espresso machine. And do I even need to mention the goat? I really enjoyed reading this book and will try more from this author in the future.
So unexpected and refreshing! Two people with preconceived notions and a stubborn streak find their way toward each other as they spend time together and open themselves up to ideas other than their own. Of course, it helps to have an entire town rooting for you!
When you find the one person who touches your soul does time really matter?
Delightful story. Very romantic.
I liked the book,
It made me wish to travel to Scotland! Sweet characters.
Ok
Loved it!
This is a quick sweet read…love the town, people, the goat and Hello Kitty!
I had a huge smile on my face from the first paragraph to the last. I enjoyed this book so much and the chemistry between Callum and Georgia was through the roof.
Georgia is in Scotland to convince Callum to turn his rustic hotel into the next tourist spot. But Callum was in Georgia’s shoes before… all corporate, no real life… and he’s determined to show her that his life is the better way to live.
The banter, the looks, the towns people, thesexy times… this whole book had me on cloud nine. I highly recommend this book and can’t wait to read more from this author!
**I received a copy of Ten Days with the Highlander from Entangled Lovestruck Publishing and Net Galley in exchange for a voluntary and honest review. The opinions expressed below are mine alone and not solicited in any way.**
Ten Days with the Highlander by Hayson Manning is an absolutely delightful book and I loved it! I have read the author before Bound to the Bounty Hunter series. The chemistry between the town, Callum, Delilah the goat, Hello Kitty (Can I have her?) and Georgia was just the right amount needed for this short read.
Georgia Paxton has 10 days to convince Callum MacGregor to sign papers with LiveAbout change his quaint Inn into a money making tourist attraction. Georgia is determine that there’s nothing that is going to ruin her perfect signing record. When Callum hears her spiel and says No and that he’ll change her mind about taking over his Inn with just 10 days to show her the real Scotland. When she meets Hello Kitty who knows how to open doors, Delilah the goat who loves to ride shot gun in the car-with the window open of course. But its when he takes her to the Grotto and drinks from the cups that she starts to think perhaps it’s time to preservation may not be such a bad thing. Besides what red blooded woman doesn’t dream of a handsome Scot in his Kilt asking if she wanted to if the men wear anything under their kilt? Oh heck yeah I’m one of those women.
Callum MacGregor was part of the Corporate world as a architect but gave it up to come back to his town buying the Inn and Pub restoring it to it’s former glory. He doesn’t want to bring tourist or the internet to the town changing it forever. But when he meets Georgia it’s like fate is giving him a sign to convince her to keep progress away. After all his ailing mother is to local palm reader and Robert Bruce has the whole town watching over him plus Ainsley swears by her Lovesick sauce. So can Mavis whose beanies have words of wisdom sewn in the crown, Ainsley with her sauce, Wendy and her group of women at the coffee sauce change Georgia’s mind to not only stay but show Callum that change is a good thing.
When I requested this book I didn’t realize it was a second look title and a contemporary also.
I read mostly historical romance but that being said this book was a delight to read. Romantic comedy with just a touch of angst between the hero and heroine made this one of the best of it’s kind I have read this year.
This pair have more in common than they want to believe and discovering their likes as well as their differences makes for a wonderful tale with both humor and a touch of sadness.
I gave this book 4.5 of 5 stars for storyline and characterization and a medium heat sensual rating. There is only one heated encounter but the Sparks fly.
I received a complimentary digital ARC of this book to read. This in no way affected my opinion of this title which I read and reviewed voluntarily.
Georgia is out of her element and in over her head. Business brought her to the Scottish Highlands. Beautiful scenery, a brooding Scotland and a fiery attraction are just an added bonus, but when her heart becomes involved, she’s forced to rethink her priorities. Callum serves as the perfect guide for a romantic adventure. Easy on the eyes, fatal to the heart and addictive to the sweet tooth. Ten Days With the Highlander is a trip worth taking.
