Tempting Tim is a heartfelt and deeply engrossing small-town, second-chance romance – guaranteed to bring music to your soul all the way to the happily-ever-after.
I never wanted the limelight. The only thing I wanted was Conley Logan.
When words failed to express my feelings for Conley, I relied on music instead. But our love song ended before it even began, before I’d even told her how I … our love song ended before it even began, before I’d even told her how I truly felt. As a result, I watched Conley leave hand-in-hand with my bandmate instead of me.
Not wanting the fight that would break up the band, I made a choice. I lived with it every day, knowing it was nobody’s fault but my own. I’ve moved on. I’m content with my small-town life, running a bar. But now Conley is back, forcing me to face the music.
From the way I’m still tempted to make her mine, it’s as if nothing has changed—but until she tells me why she’s back, I’m not sure I can trust what’s growing between us.
The only thing that has changed: I’m not letting her get away this time without a fight.
There are four stand-alone books in the Billingsley series:

If I had to pick one constant about the Billingsley series, it would be that these characters get under your skin. They become like old friends we want to visit again and again. And we get to do just that with each addition to the series. Melissa Ellen may not give us a complete rundown of the earlier couples, but we get a peek at the very least while the focus is on the current couple we can’t get enough of. In this case, that couple is Tim and Conley, who are sometimes an exercise in frustration as they deal with misunderstandings and exchange barbs. I love a good bit of banter, but the chemistry was strong enough here that I really wanted to shake the daylights out of one or both of these characters and yell at them to just get on with it. They so obviously belonged together that I wanted them to hurry and get there. Of course, this is a romance, and like the rest of the series, the author isn’t gonna leave us hanging – so the frustration that is Tim and Conley does pay off.
Meg Sylvan and Connor Crais give voice to these characters, and they do it wonderfully. I’ve listened to and enjoyed other performances by Meg Sylvan, so it’s no surprise that she does a good job with Conley. This is my first time hearing the smooth, sexy voice of Connor Crais, but he fits Tim perfectly, and after what I’ve heard here, I’ll be looking up more of his work.
All in all, Tempting Tim is a solid addition to the Billingsley series, and while this series was my introduction to Melissa Ellen, I’ll be watching for whatever she does next.
I enjoyed this delightful and charming small town friends to lovers romance that kept me entertained and intrigued from start to finish with wonderful characters you want to know. I loved the attraction and undeniable chemistry between Conley Logan who returns to her hometown after she breaks up with her fiance and Tim Hudson who owns Dudley’s Bar. This is the first book I have read by Melissa Ellen but it definitely won’t be the last since I want to know more about the folks in Billingsley, Texas. I received an advance reader copy of “Tempting Tim” and am voluntarily leaving my review.
** spoiler alert ** She just wants to find herself, he has always loved her. Their attraction sizzles, but others are determined to block it. Will she finally break free from her past? Will he get the girl he has loved since 15?
Have to say this author is becoming a go to read. I couldn’t blame him for bouncing back and forth since he had always felt this way and was struggling with the miscommunication between them and thinking for so long that she didn’t want him. I loved when she finally realized that she could do it and that she started standing up for herself. Great read!
I love the Billingsley series. And Tempting Tim is as good as I expected it to be. Tim is a good guy. He’s always had feelings for Conley. But she’s been in a relationship the whole time. So when she moves back home he still has those feelings for her. But he’s not sure why she’s back. I liked the story. And that there were appearances from characters from the previous books.
This book was the best! First time reading/listening to a Melissa Ellen book and she captivated me from the start. This book had it all: small town romance, friends to lovers, unrequited love, intense chemistry, and lots of great banter between the characters. I really enjoyed this book and will be adding more to my TBR by this author. Tim and Conley had great chemistry from the start! You could tell they were always meant to be but were too scared to ever let each other know how they truly felt. However, the wonderful narration made this audiobook entertaining and enjoyable. The narration by Meg Sylvan and Connor Crais was perfect. The are new to me narrators and they did a beautiful job telling Tim and Conley’s story. I would definitely recommend this book, author and narrators to other readers.
This friends to lovers romance was sweet and was filled with a lot of feels. Conely and Tim have a journey full of emotions from anger to happiness to sadness. It was just full of feels. The sexual chemistry between the pair was off the charts. I listened to the audiobook and the narrators were awesome. They especially made the sexy times scenes hot. My first Melissa Ellen book was enjoyable and will definitely not be my last.
Tempting Tim was my first listen by Melissa Ellen! Loved this small town, friends to loves story. Conley really gave Tim a run for his money! Loved how their story turned out. I highly suggest you give this book a listen! You won’t regret it. Loved the narration by Connor Crais & Meg Sylvan.
Tempting Tim is a stand alone story. His character only made short appearances in books two & three of the series and I haven’t read the first in the series. Many of the characters from earlier books did make appearances in this story. I’d categorize Tempting Tim as unrequited love/small town.
I listened to the audiobook. It was the first time I’ve listened to Connor Crais and he did a fantastic job paired with Meg Sylvan. Their performances added to the story and I highly recommend the audio version.

Tim and Conley had been friends for as long as he can remember, and his feelings have escalated into love but she has developed feelings for a member of his band. All he wants is Conley’s happiness, so he decides to take a step back both for her and the band.
Years later Tim has left the band and owns a pub in their hometown. Conley has also realized that her life isn’t turning out the way she hoped so she has returned to her roots to decide which direction she wants her future to take.
As they spend time together will they be able to work through the misunderstandings of their past and have a second chance or is Tim destined for a broken heart for the second time?
The interactions between Tim and Conley were both humorous and hot and they are a perfect example of how somethings are meant to be. I listened to an audio copy and thought that the narrators were a perfect choice for the story and the characters. The Flock
I have LOVED The Billingsley Series by Melissa Ellen. This is book 4 and to see it end! I was wondering who would be next and was not disappointed with Tim and Conley’s story. I was sad for them and at one point wanted to scream at their behavior. Ugh. I love when an author is able to emotionally pull me into a story. A great HEA at the end.
Meg Sylvan & Connor Crais are excellent narrators. Their performances were perfect. The book rolled like a movie in my head. They have great voices for male and female parts. Both so smooth. I could listen to them nonstop.
*I received an ALC of this audiobook and this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

Tempting Tim
The Billingsley Series #4
by Melissa Ellen
Narrated by by Meg Sylvan & Connor Crais
Pink Flamingo Productions
Back to Blillingsley I go because I just love this town. The small town feel Melissa Ellen has brought to this series has me feeling like I am one of the group! This story features Conley and Tim. These two have known each other since high school, and they were really good friends. Life happens and Tim comes back to Billingsley to run his family’s bar. And now Conley is back. The chemistry is palpable, but Tim is hesitant and Conley holds a secret. Will these two give in and find they chance to be together? It’s a fun, easy friends to lovers romance. Conley is quite the spunky girl once she finds her footing. Tim is a sweet, lovable man. They both succeeded to frustrate me and make me love them, all signs of a great love story! I love all the friends that live in town too who make appearances and give both sage advice. It’s a fun time!
Meg Sylvan and Connor Crais take us to town this time and it’s wonderful. I am a big fan of both narrators so I knew it was going to a good one. Sylvan settles into character as Conley and she becomes her perfectly. She is full of emotions and Sylvan lets us work it all out with her. Crais has a soothing voice as Tim. He is easy going, frustrated, loving and everything mixed in giving us a genuine Tim! I loved them together.
Tim and Conley
Great continuation to the series. This one has a musical backstory and unrequited love.
Conley is a spitfire and Tim is the bartender who hires her. I’m not telling any more details.
Good narration.
Sisters Spotlight
Ellen takes the term heartbreaker and turns it on it’s head. Tim and Conley are an enchanting rollercoaster of emotion and romance that once it grabs hold refuses to let go. The wounds cut deep and will most definitely leave scars but it’s the beauty of the heart that casts a spell. Tempting Tim is WILD!
This was an all around fell good type story. It is the 4th in the series and my first listen in the series. It is a standalone with many characters I assume are int eh previous books but I didn’t feel left out at all. Tim was such a lovable Hero. The years were long loving afar but it all comes together like it should. I really like Conley’s spunk and personality. This couple was so great together and their friends made for a town I wish I was a part of. Meg Sylvan and Connor Crais do an amazing job. Highly recommend.

This is my first read by Melissa Ellen, but now I need to go back and start this series from the beginning! I really enjoyed Tempting Tim, and I’m sure that I’ll enjoy the rest as well.
This is a friends-to-lovers story, and Tim and Conley have been best friends forever. Tim never quite had the guts to tell Conley how he feels about her, and now he gets his change.
This is a really beautiful story, and they are a great couple with a lot of chemistry and a true connecting. It is a quick and satisfying read, really enjoyable, and will leave a smile on your face.
ETA: Having now read the entire series in order and listening to the audio, I enjoyed this even more the second time around. Conley’s spark in absolutely infectious, and seeing Tim open up in this book was even more enjoyable. Plus the narration by Meg Sylvan and Connor Crais was fantastic. Connor practically melted my earbuds as Tim. Perfect casting.
This is my first read by Melissa Ellen and it will definitely will not be the last.
Tim and Conley have been friends since they were children and Tim has always had a crush on his best friend but never had the courage to tell her.
Live this book. It was a quick read and a great friends to lovers story.
This was a beautiful and sweet read with a hot couple that has amazing chemistry.
My Rating: STARS!
3.5 stars. I love these sweet romances with the small town charm of family and friends. This fourth in the series features a couple of locals with an unrequited love that’s spans decades. Tim, the hunky bartender, gave up his dream because he couldn’t be close to Conley any longer and watch his friend with his girl. A misunderstanding lead Conley to Bobby in the first place and years of giving to the relationship left her unfulfilled. She heads home and there he is. Tim, her teen crush. This wasn’t my favorite of the series and didn’t have the pop of the previous stories. It’s a sweet romance with the fantastic friends and family atmosphere of the others. Conley and Tim finally get it right after dealing with their own issues and it’s terrific when they get on the same page. It looks like the local lawman, Roger, has a thing for Tina, Devin assistant, so they’re probably the next up but there are so many fabulous characters in this series. Always a sweet and sexy love story in these Billingsley romances. This is a quick, easy read with a great ending.
TEMPTING TIM is a full length freinds-to-lovers , small-town-romance written by Melissa Ellen.
This was my first read by Mellisa Ellen and it was absolutely amazing!! I can’t wait to read more of the Billingsley series.
In this book we meet Tim and Conley. Tim has always had a crush on Conley but never had the courage to tell her so. When he finally gets readu to tell her, life gets in the way anf they both are once again ” just-friends”.
Afetr a few years they both meet again. Conley is trying to get through life , but when he meets Tim again, she reaalises that he should have been the her’s a long time ago. Both of them try to deny the spark between themselves at first, but then realize that they cant be just frineds.
I loved the way both of thm had this intense connection that stayed so strong even afetr many years. Their banter and the way they interacted with each other was just so amaing an funny. I absilutely aodred the frined circle of Tim!!
Both Tim and Conley were just Fabulpous and I loved them!!
Tempting Tim (Billingsley #4) by
Melissa Ellen
5 STARS
Tempting Tim is the fourth book in the Billingsley series by author Melissa Ellen. It is written in dual POV, and it tells the story of Tim and Conley.
This book was AMAZING.
I read all of Melissa Ellens’s book, from the very first one, and she just keeps growing and becomes better and better.
Billingsley series is one of my favorites. Although I prefer in general dark romance and dirty, Melissa’s books are a breath of fresh air, sweet and funny, and slowly becoming hotter and hotter, like Texas heat, which makes me love it even more.
Tempting Tim can be read as a standalone, but I am being you, read the rest of the book too, they are lovely, beautiful and will help you love and understand more about the book, the characters and the world of Billingsley.
I want to move there and live there with those characters.
So, back to the book…
Tim was the forming and lead singer of a country band, now famous. He was in love with Conley since they were 15, but when he finally made his courage to make his move, his bandmate made his move on her.
Conley loved Tim back, but since he never made his move, actually, any move for that matter, she always thought Tim only wanted to be friends with her.
The band became famous, they were on tour constantly, but Tim couldn’t take it anymore. He couldn’t stand there and see her in another man’s hands, so when the opportunity strikes, he left the band and comes back home to Billingsley.
After 20 years, Conley realizes that even if she has it all, she doesn’t have anything in fact. She gave her all to one man. A man who doesn’t deserve her doesn’t love her, and the saddest part is that she doesn’t love him either. She lost herself on the way.
Now she is back home, in Billingsley, wanting to rediscover herself, to start again, to live again. She lost so many years on nothing.
Obviously, when Conley and Tim meet again, even after this many years, spark fly, and the fire that was between them when they were 15, is now in full blast.
I loved Tim & Conley, I loved their back and forth game between them and how when they finally touched each other, they couldn’t stay away. I loved that I got to see again the rest of the previous characters, Lottie and Tucker, which are my favorite couple. I loved to see Wes and how he was making fun of Tim, and Devin, his best friend.
So PLEASE, if you haven’t already, read this series, READ IT NOW
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SERIES & BOOK
I liked the book overall. I was meh on how Conley was at the beginning and how she was at the end when Tim was upset. She played the victim a lot more than she should. Her attitude towards Tim and how she felt he would just welcome her with open arms was a wee bit fantasy thinking. Time passed and Tim was dealing with unrequited feelings. He lost a lot the day he walked away from the band and he was now trying to just keep himself from letting things loose on her. I know she didn’t know that she was the reason he left but still she should have done more to find out what was going on with him when he did all those years ago. Instead she just let him walk away and than blamed him for not saying anything. A friend would have found out what was going on. And that is my meh. She didn’t act like a friend just let it go and blame him for everything.
Tim was a overall great guy. He was dealing with his feelings for Conley and that had him going up and down in emotions and outbursts. He was kind and gentle and he was one that lost trust in others from his past. He didn’t like to give up control but learns to when he loses his heart and matures more.
Conley is a good person. She is a little self absorbed at times but a good person. She is going through a bad breakup and her ex is a idiot. When you meet him, you can understand why Tim isn’t a fan and why others in the town do not like him as well. He is an asshat. He is all about himself and his image. He isn’t wanting Conley because of love but his image and to best Tim. It was always about besting Tim with her ex and that is wrong.
The romance was give and take. It was rocky to start because Tim was protecting his heart and also didn’t realize Conley wasn’t engaged anymore. They started rocky but even than you could feel the spark between them. Conley challenged Tim and he needed that. Tim supported Conley and made her see she could be whatever she wanted and she needed that. Did they have a stupid moment? Yes but it was needed so they could learn about themselves and grow. Without that growth, being together forever would have not happened.
The story was entertaining and character driven. You knew where they stood and could feel their emotions through the pages. It was told in Conley and Tim’s POV and it was Tim’s POV I liked the most. His was more raw and real. He didn’t make excuses or hold back to me and that is what I liked. It showed his flaws and he admits when he is wrong. The romance was steamy. A book on love, family and friendship. On second chances at getting a romance and growth. A wonderful story that is entertaining and steamy in the romance.
