Tempting Tim is a heartfelt and deeply engrossing small-town, second-chance romance – guaranteed to bring music to your soul all the way to the happily-ever-after.
I never wanted the limelight. The only thing I wanted was Conley Logan.
When words failed to express my feelings for Conley, I relied on music instead. But our love song ended before it even began, before I’d even told her how I … our love song ended before it even began, before I’d even told her how I truly felt. As a result, I watched Conley leave hand-in-hand with my bandmate instead of me.
Not wanting the fight that would break up the band, I made a choice. I lived with it every day, knowing it was nobody’s fault but my own. I’ve moved on. I’m content with my small-town life, running a bar. But now Conley is back, forcing me to face the music.
From the way I’m still tempted to make her mine, it’s as if nothing has changed—but until she tells me why she’s back, I’m not sure I can trust what’s growing between us.
The only thing that has changed: I’m not letting her get away this time without a fight.
There are four stand-alone books in the Billingsley series:

The fourth book in the Billingsley series a well written second chance story. Conley Logan and Tim Hudson’s story. Tim lost Conley to his band mate Bobby Knox sixteen years ago, but now she is back in their hometown. They will have there ups and downs before they get to be together. I would say this is my favorite of this series to date. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I enjoyed this book. It’s simple and an easy read. Maybe a bit predictable but I like how the story flows. It was well written. The main and side characters are relatable and easy to fall in love with. I adored Tim and Conley so much. Especially Tim I like how he’s deeply in love to Conley. Their moments together are all so swoon worthy even their little banters.I finished this book in one sitting. It’s a light hearted and a sweet story with a very cute happy ending. I like it. I’ll definitely recommend it.
I enjoyed Tim and Conley’s story, they were good for each other. Their connection and chemistry was strong. They journey may have had a few bumps but they were made for each other. They were great together.
Tim was part of a successful rock band and had been in love with Conley Logan since they were kids. He never told her, and then it was too late when she was in a relationship with another band member. Now she has returned to their home town, but doesn’t have much to say about it. No one knows if she is available for dating, or if she will be leaving soon. And Tim isn’t willing to put his heart on the line again without more information. Will she trust him and tell him the truth? Or will she let him walk away from her for his own safety?
I think in this story that both characters were at fault. Tim should have made it clear how he felt. And Conley was somehow clueless. When Tim didn’t warmly welcome her home, why didn’t she ask questions? Why didn’t he? Unless they both learn to communicate, there isn’t much hope for a HEA down the road.
3.5 stars
A second chance at love for Tim and Conley. They knew each other as teenagers but missed their chance and stayed friends. Their friendship ends, but when Conley returns to town years later they find the attraction between them is still strong.
I felt for Tim and his unrequited love for Conley that he held on to for so many years. As this is dual POV it was fun seeing Conley realize her feelings and how the two work through their past. I also liked the fun dynamic of their friends group. It makes me want to go back and read the other books.
Tempting Tim part of the Billingsley series, but can be read as a standalone. There were characters and reference to previous books so it would be fun to read them all in order.
Thank you to the author for providing an ARC for an honest review.
I really enjoyed this book! this was a new author to me.
Revelations of the heart and mind
Tempting Tim (Billingsley Series Book 4) by Melissa Ellen is a wonderfully well written book with tons of feels and plenty of heat. The characters are awesome and this author’s writing is a style I really enjoy. In fact, after this book, I am intrigued to read her other books in the series and all the others as well.
The plot of Tempting Tim is as engaging and captivating as the characters themselves. Conley and Tim have history and as these two get to know one another, the tension that had always been smoldering flares into something undeniable, sweet, real and deep. Their story will keep you on the edge of your emotional seat and rooting for them to get to the heart of their matter.
Overall, a very well written book with characters that pulled me in and held me captive to their long overdue and much deserved HEA. Totally sweet and so very fitting.
I read an ARC of this book from Hidden Gems and voluntarily share my review.
I fell for Tim and Conley in this story. Miscommunications and secret feelings cause a rift between them. When they end up in their small hometown again, sparks fly. I was on the edge of my seat waiting for one of them to make the first move and finally admit their feelings. The tension, passion, back and forth make this a great story.
Second chances are my Kryptonite. When done right, they leave me weak in the knees and absolutely breathless. And even though both of our leading couple made me badly want to smack some sense into their thick skulls, this was a second chance romance done very right. Tim is everything my best book boyfriend fantasies are made of. He has all that sweet southern-boy charm paired with a heart that’s just too big for his body. (That’s not even counting that he’s a bartender/owner and one-time rock star.) I don’t think he got enough credit for everything he did to keep the peace. Conley is nothing like any preacher’s daughter I’ve read to this point. She’s not the wild child rebelling against everything and she’s not a prissy princess bound by the rules of the church. Though, she does have a bit of the martyred saint about her. She’s a modern woman who I think a lot of us can relate to: she’d invested way too much of her heart and time into a relationship that’s just not serving her anymore. The push-me/pull-you dynamic between Tim and Conley had me wanting to rip my hair out in frustration at ever seeing them get it right, but I adored every angsty drama-filled moment of their story. I don’t know if the author has more of their stories to tell, but I’ve fallen in love with this town full of nosy busybodies and I can’t wait for our next trip back to Billingsley.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author through Valentine PR & Literary Management.
Sweet Second Chance Romance
Tim and Conley had been friends since they were15 and neither of them let their true feelings known. About the time that he was finally going to let Conley know how he felt Tim’s band mate moved in on her and they hit the road.
Now Conley is back to their small town working in Tim’s bar. Will this now be the time for these two? This was a sweet romance that gave me all the feels.
This is my first time reading author Melissa Ellen – and it will definitely not be my last.
I truly enjoyed how the story immediately drew me in and immersed me in this small Texas town. The characters were compelling and I felt the heartbreak, hope, anger, confusion, and happiness felt by both Tim and Conley.
I liked how they both had to finally realize that in order to embrace their future they had to first let go of the past.
Bobby was a douche canoe. But, I DO want to know what his agent said to him over the phone that had him so upset. I have my guesses, but nothing else was ever mentioned about it. Also, did Tim continue to pursue his interest outside of the bar? It felt as though that part of the story line was left hanging.
Overall, I enjoyed the close long-term friendships portrayed and the closeness that both main characters had with their families. I highly recommend this book!
Tim and Conley had a secret crush on each other since they were 15 years old but they never told each other. He sat back and watched his friend sweep her off her feet. Fast forward 16 years and she returns and Tim realizes he still has feelings for her and her feelings for him are still there. There were so many things and Tim tried really hard to not fall for her. Conley didn’t know what to think anymore and she was tired of putting off what she wanted for others. His friends were rooting for him and these two couldn’t hide their feelings anymore. But still there was one person trying to mess things up but they finally got their act together. Their ending was funny and cute and so them.

This was my first read by Melissa Ellen and it was fantastic! Being introduced to this amazing group of friends just makes me want to go and read their books that much more. And it goes without saying that Tim and Conley were exceptional—I loved them.
Tim and Conley have known each other since they were 15. Tim has always had a crush on her and when he finally gets the courage to tell her how he feels his bandmate swoops right in. So instead of telling Conley and not wanting to break up the band, Tim decides to keep quiet. He moves on, but those feelings for Conley don’t go away.
Conley thought she had it all. But through the years she started losing her old self. She now has started to realize that what she had wasn’t making her happy. She’s finally taking control of her life and trying to find her way back to the person she once was. And at the same time she begins to realize that Tim should’ve been the man she fell for all those years ago.
Tim and Conley were the absolute best. I loved their banter and their bickering had me laughing. Watching these two reconnect and become friends again and then lovers left me giddy. They were exactly what each other needed.
Tempting Tim is a small-town and friends-to-lovers romance packed with feels. I loved Tim and Conley, and their group of friends were just as amazing. I can’t wait to go back and read more of the Billingsley series.
Tempting Tim had everything! Small town, friends to lovers, rock star romance and it was a great read. Tim and Conley were once close friends and after a falling out and many years Conley finds herself back in her hometown and back in Tim’s life. I enjoyed reading about these two and them learning to not be scared to go after what you want in life!
4 star Review of Tempting Tim (Billingsley #4) by Melissa Ellen
Recently I have found myself gravitating to small town romances, add in that this is a friends to lovers story and it was a win/win for me. Melissa Ellen is a new to me author and I am surprised I have not come across her before.
This is Conley and Tim’s story and it was an entertaining love story about regrets, getting a second chance and taking a leap of faith. Although the fourth book in the series, I had no trouble reading it. However, when time permits I will be looking at the other books in the series.
The chemistry between Conley and Tim is intense and you could almost feel the tension in the air. Conley chose the wrong guy years ago and Tim let her go rather than course a fall out. Now she is back, working in Tim’s bar. The question is although Tim still has deep feelings for her, can he take a chance that she won’t break his heart again?
Conley was a strong, at times naive woman but I overall I liked her and I really felt for Tim as he struggled with his feelings. Their road to a HEA will be bumpy but it may well be worth it in the end.
I love the Billingsley series. And Tempting Tim is as good as I expected it to be. Tim is a good guy. He’s always had feelings for Conley. But she’s been in a relationship the whole time. So when she moves back home he still has those feelings for her. But he’s not sure why she’s back. I liked the story. And that there were appearances from characters from the precious books.
Tempting Tim was the first book I’ve read by this author. I was intrigued by the blurb, I love small town romances. Tim has been in love with Conley since they met as teenagers. He doesn’t make his move quick enough because he band mate, Bobby asks her out first. He is then put in to the friends zone for years. When his father needs his help, he leaves the band and heads back home. After too many years on the road with the band, Conley leaves Bobby and the tour. She moves back to their small town and starts her life over. She quickly gets a job at her old friend, Tims’s family bar. Tim is acting odd with her and she doesn’t know why. The two of them have a lot of misunderstandings and they bicker back and forth before one of them is willing to make the first move. I found their witty banter very amusing and was happy to see them work out their issues. Really cute friends to lovers, small town romance.
I received this book free and I am voluntarily doing a review. I loved reading this book but I hate it took so long for her to realize that it was Tim and Bobby lol but other then that I cried and felt everything she did.
Tempting Tim is a wonderful read. I enjoyed every moment of this one. You feel for Tim and how he has loved Conley from afar. He is a stand up guy and just an all around good guy. Conley you feel is so lost as she returns home. You cannot deny her attraction with Tim. Timing for them was off when they were younger. All the years that were lost to them and watching them grow as friends again is amazing. This is a quick read that will have you sucked into the journey that is Tim and Conley.
