One error in judgment. That is all it took. They say don’t mix business with pleasure, but I fell in love with the client and now I’ve lost her.But I would do it all over again if it meant keeping her safe. Now I’ll have to fight like hell to earn her trust again. If I don’t, it could cost both of us everything.
Well done! While I’m not a huge fan of the duet concept, as in cliff hangers, the author wrote a great end to this story that had me smiling and laughing inside while reading it. She deviate from the expectation that only a woman can care for a child, and for that alone she should be lifted to our shoulders and celebrated!
Picture a guy with nothing but abs holding a baby and cooing at her. And the ‘mom’ is stressed out wondering if she can believe what is going on around her. Jax was hired to protect the baby without Neela knowing who he really is. The ‘manny’ cover works for him because he’s spent lots of time with nieces and nephews since his profession doesn’t allow him to have any long term relationships. Neela knows that her friend, Mazie’s mom, was into some bad stuff and she’s just trying to keep the baby safe.
The whole story is full of fun and romance, with plenty of tense moments, followed by more adventure! Just simply superb! The author has written many good stories but this tops them all!
Nana Malone once again delivered. One thing I know when I get my hands on a book by Nana is that it is going to suck me in and leave hankering for more of her work. This duet had it all, the twists and turns, the struggle to fight the attraction and chemistry, betrayal, heartbreak, love, suspense, action and so much more. I love how we even get to see characters from her Royals series and the ending has me looking for the next duet!!
Now if you haven’t read the first book in this duet you must do so or you will be lost and won’t enjoy this one as much. You won’t be disappointed I can tell you that. I would definitely highly recommend this duet!!!
Tempting the Heiress is the conclusion to the duet. This book is a romance/mystery/suspenseful/ Ultra Sexy book with lots of twist and turns and plenty of action to keep your heart pumping. Its about finding love and opening your heart. The story takes you on a journey throughout the isles with each chapter more exciting than the last one to keep you turning the page. Sone of my favorite parts are just watching Jax fall in love with Neela and the baby. His protectiveness being the true alpha that he is. I also love seeing a stronger Neela emerge. To standup for her new family and let go of the past. With all that was going on in this book I wasn’t able to put it down. The characters new and old kept it very interesting. I love King Sebastian and Queen Penny. They make the stories so much fun and lets not forget Lady Ariel. Who is about to go on a new journey of her own. Bring on Prince Tristan. I’m waiting for you. Hope to fall in love with him as I did Jax. Love this new family.
What a fire cracker conclusion, Jax and Neela find themselves at odds only to discover who the true enemy is, but can this discovery lead them back to each other, and how will this discovery affect baby Mayzie, can they truly be a family, find out in this heiress conclusion
This book is the continuation and conclusion of the Heiress duet. Neela has made Jax as a bodyguard and doesn’t quite know how she feels about it. This book takes readers on a twist and turn ride that we have come to love from this author. This book gives readers everything they need and so much more. Mayzie, Willa and a few other bad guys all jump in the mix. You are constantly on edge wondering will they or won’t they. I loved both Jax and Neela. I loved seeing both of them evolve and grow. Nana Malone has a knack for creating characters that readers can care about and want to be happy. This duet is a must read. Malone does it again. I can’t wait to see what’s up next.
Oh, if you have loved the Winston Isles books, you will be more than pleased that all of our beloved characters show up in this one. I love to get updates on past characters. Sebastian is working on a plan to keep his family safe. Ariel and Royal Elite are a big part of that plan. I can’t wait to hear more about the new team members and see how their characters evolve. I’m hooked on Team Winston Isles and I don’t want it ever to end.
**ARC REVIEW**
This is such an exciting series. Full of suspense, thrills and so much more…
Book 2 continues with Jax securing the safety of baby Mayzie and Neela.
Neela feels betrayed after finding the true reason why Ariel and her team are actually around and Jax is really not a Manny! After all this Neela gets an even bigger surprise about her so called best friend and Mayzie’s mom.
Neela doesn’t know who to trust anymore and must find the necessary answers to keep her and Mayzie safe.
Jax is trying his best to stay focus and keep his priorities in check. More difficult then ever after realizing he’s indeed in love with Neela and needs try everything and anything to keep her and Mayzie safe and convince Neela, She and Mazyie are his true and only priority.
Ariel on the other hand is working hard to forget about her past and stay focus on the task at hand. Keeping her team focus on Mayzie safety and finding the people trying to kill her and Neela. Until a phone call changes everything…
What a thrilling conclusion to the Heiress Duet series. Tempting the Heiress picks up where Protecting the Heiress left off. Neely is heartbroken and feeling betrayed when she found out Jax was more than her manny. Jax is determined to convince her that he never meant to lie to her, his feelings are real, and that he wants her and Mayzie to be his. The chemistry between Neely and Jax is still hotter than ever and they soon find their way back to each other. But there is still a very real threat against them and it is a race against time for Neely to decode the ledger so Mayzie is safe and she can have her life back. The twists and turns that this story takes is thrilling and breathtaking. I loved that all the family and friends we’ve grown to love from the past stories are all involved and essential in this book along with new intriguing members of the Royal Elite that I need to now more about. There was still the wonderful humor that Ms Malone does so well, along with intrigue and emotion that kept me totally engaged. She also continues to weave in an intriguing story line with Ariel, and I can’t wait for her story next!
Awesome conclusion to the Heiress Duet. The lies that are told hurt the ones you love, even if they are told for their protection. Who can Neela trust, can she protect Mayzie from those trying to hurt her and can she protect her heart from Jax. What happens when old ghosts return to make matters more confusing. Loved it!!
Loved this conclusion of The Heiress Duet! The author really delivers, there’s intrigue and suspense and enough background stories that you relish every word so you don’t miss anything, its super engaging throughout. The main story remains about Neela and Jax and baby Maysie, can they get past the lie Jax had to tell Neela to keep them protected. We knew there was more to Willa’s story so that unfolds to a satisfying conclusion. I also know I have to keep reading these stories because Ariel. There’s more to the royal family too, there’s still a threat looming, I have a feeling we haven’t seen the end of the betrayals. I can’t say much without spoiling it but its definitely a must read and I look forward to more from this author regarding the side characters. (On a personal note I want to learn more about the Zia character as thats my daughters name and I thought it was rather unique so I hope there’s a story behind the name and I hope we get to learn it!)
This is the second book in the Royal Elite Heiress Duet and continues the story of Jax and his job protecting Neela and baby Maysie. Neela’s trust is broken when she finds out that her ‘manny’ Jax is really part of a secret security team guarding them. Plenty of drama with her deceased friends art gallery, decoding the ledger and trying to care for her friends baby. The characters are wonderful and so well-developed and the story got better and better. More intense and plenty of danger as they are forced to go on the run. Jax knows that they have stolen his heart and he is determined to tempt Nella and win her love and trust back. Beware that once you begin this book you’ll find it hard to put down. I read an advance reader copy and voluntarily chose to write a review
Tempting the Heiress is the perfect finish to the Heiress duet!!!! The story continues where it leaves off from book one where secrets and lies caused a riff better Jax and Neela. Now all Jax wants to do is get her to trust him again. But can she? Neela feels betrayed by Jax, the one she has fallen head over heels for but he has hurt hurt and she cannot process how she feels about him now. It’s undeniable even after all that has happened that these two love each other. What I loved most about the story is the suspense, the action and all the twists. Your kept on your toes with this book and the end is absolutely brilliant!! Very well done Nana Malone!!! A recommended series 100%!!!!
The 2nd book begins after the cliffhanger ending of Protecting the Heiress. Readers have the chance to dig further into the stories. Jax and Neela continue to not only work together to solve the case but their feelings as well. Without giving too much away but neither is an easy case. I will say there was no shortage of twists. I will have like to hear more backstories on certain characters in the story. However, I still enjoyed the book. I am glad that Jax and Neela finally got their HEA. I can’t wait for Ariel’s story.
In my opinion Tempting the Heiress is so much better than the first book Protecting the Heiress. I want more Jax and Neela and I got it. This book is full of action, steam and twist and turns. One of the twist I had figured out, but the other one was a surprise. Well Done Nana Malone!!! Nana Malone grabbed my attention at the beginning and kept it till the end. Jax got on my nerves at the beginning but when his back story was brought to light I had more understanding for him. I liked Neela and how she fought to keep her independence. I loved how Jax and Neela came together for Mayzie. In my opinion Nana Malone did a good job with suspense, twist and steam. In my opinion this book was a great conclusion to The Heiress Series. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced readers copy.
Tempting the Heiress is the second book in the Royal Elite Heiress Duet and cannot be read as a standalone.
First let me say, I was super excited to pick this duet back up because I needed to know what came next for Jax, Neela and sweet little Maysie and Nana Malone did not disappoint.
This book had so many twists and turns it made me dizzy in the best of ways. There’s nothing like a fabulous plot twist you didn’t see coming, and this book had those in spades! It was thrilling to read. Combine that with how super hot Jax and Neela are together and the sweetness of Maysie wrapping hunky alpha Jax around her little toddler finger and you have a simply awesome read!
I became really invested in this little non-traditional family and needed them to find their happy ever after together. Neela was so much stronger than she thought she was. And Jax . . .sigh, super hot with Neela and then crazy sweet with Maysie – seriously, my ovaries about burst while reading! I also loved watching him realize that the dream he thought he wanted more than anything wasn’t truly the prize.
Tempting the Heiress was a fantastic read. 4.5 stars!
I really enjoyed this conclusion to the Heiress duet. Plus it sets up the next story in the series really well. The story picks up right where the last left off. Jax has his work cut out for him trying to win back Neela’s trust. And work he does! The story was full of twists and turns and full of action. It was quick paced and wild ride. The new members of the team are introduced and give us a glimpse at future stories. I’m very excited to read the next one! I received an advance copy for an honest review.
Tempting the Heiress is book 2 in the Heiress Duet, and you absolutely need to read book 1 before diving into this electrifying and exciting must-read!
Wow….that’s really all I can say after reading this book. WOW! There’s drama, mystery, danger, and shocking twists and turns that have you sitting on the edge of your seat with anticipation! The character dynamic between Jax and Neela was brilliantly written, as well as the tension and conflicting emotions that accompanies the enticing plot line. The alternating POVs that has become customary in these duets, was the ultimate cherry on top of this eloquently wistful romance.
I can’t say much more about this book, as I would give away entirely way too much if I did. Just read it. Tempting the Heiress is a powerful and exciting romantic thriller that will leave you desperate for more from this fabulous author! I can’t wait for the next duet, as each book just gets better and better! Gah, I just love ‘em!
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.
One error in judgement. That is all it took. They say don’t mix business with pleasure, but I fell in love with the client and now I have lost her. But I would do it all over again if it meant keeping her safe. Now I’ll have to fight like crazy to earn her trust again. If I don’t, it could cost both of us everything
This is book two in the Royal Elite Heiress Duet. You need to read the first book or your going to be lost. The book is just as amazing as I thought it would be. You will not be able to put this book down once you start it. It has a ton of suspense and drama and will keep you on the edge of your seat guessing at every turn. To say that Jax and Neela have some amazing chemistry is a major understatement. I love every second I spent with my nose buried in this book Do not miss this Duet. Nana Malone is such an amazing writer you will not be disappoint in giving her books a chance.
Jax and Neela’s story is a continuation of Protecting the Heiress. I loved this book. My emotions were high while reading this book. Neela found out Jax was hired as a bodyguard to protect baby Mayzie. But Neela became part of the package. Neela was not happy and trusted no one. Neela and her employees had to figure out what is in that ledger that Willa left her. When their safe house becomes compromised they have to move fast. Jax and Neela become closer to each other. Jax can’t help the feelings he has for her. The next safe house also becomes compromised they end up with an unexpected guest that I did not see coming. Talk about shocked.!! Jax and Neela finally act on their feelings that they have for each other, and oh man was it hot.!! Neela’s employees have the ledger all figured out but she don’t want Jax to know. Neela takes it upon her self to do what’s right, but her and Jax get hurt in the long run. I found myself yelling at the book and no way did I see that coming. Will Jax and Neela end up together and raise baby Mayzie together or will this be the end of them both? I can’t wait to read Tristan and Ariel’s story next.
Just when he thought he lost everything important, Jax find himself evaluating his life and his luck. A job meant to protect a baby and her guardian turned into so much more. Jax is working for a new security firm and his end goal is to eventually get back his job as a Royal Guard. This is all he wants. His end game. But the journey he is now on will give him so much more than the job he thought he always wanted.
Neela and Jax get off to a slow start for no other reason than their relationship needs to stay professional. But as romances go, you know that doesn’t happen. While they did not jump into bed immediately, it was amazing to watch their relationship grow into something more. I loved when they finally acted on their feelings; that it was believable.
But the day after, the s**t hits the fan. Sorry no details from me. 😉
As you know, this book is part two of a duet. It is not a stand-alone. Part one ends in a cliffhanger and will leave you anxious to get your hands on part two. Luckily, the complete duet is available so you can do what I did, and read them back to back.
This book has all the feels! There is action and adventure and a few dangerous surprises along the way. This duet is actually my first read by this author. It definitely won’t be the last. I can’t wait for the next duet in this series to release. And that is thank fully soon.
This is my honest and unbiased review. Thank you for taking the time to read it. 🙂
This book picks up right where book one left of, as is typical of a Nana Malone Duet book. Lots of plot twists and so many interesting characters. If you’re a fan of Ms. Malone, you’ll be rewarded by all the mention of related characters to the Winston Isles sagas. While this duet can be read as a stand alone, you might as well succumb to the allure, and be prepared to indulge in dive into the many books related to these two books.
We continue the bodyguard/nanny romance for Jax and Neela, but we get to see them explore their relationship and pasts more in this book. The plot in this second book is more complex and convoluted than book one, with many intricate details that must be kept straight. Through it all we see Jax and Neela working toward a new future and letting love into their lives.
Neela is quite possibly one of my favorite characters by Ms. Malone. Neela has to deal with some strange circumstances; her childhood, loss of a best friend, crappy ex-boyfriend, guardianship of a child, a new love interest. None are a far-fetched idea, even together they stay within the realm of possible, if not probable. But through it all she acts with dignity and respect and strength and perseverance. Jax is still our hot bodyguard and Maisie’s nanny. He’s a man with his own troubled past. He had some past situations that are clouding his present, but his future with Neela make him face the changes. And through it all he stays focused on their safety. Their story arc is one of my favorites in the Winston Isles.
Heat – Was the heat in the book good? Did it seem organic or forced? Did the characters have chemistry? (If the book is not supposed to have heat, skip this paragraph.)
We got into this book knowing Jax and Neela have chemistry. Despite them having to work through their trust issues, the desire and sexual attraction-and tension-is rife in the first part of the book. When they work it out, their encounters are well written and play into the scenarios, scenes, and overall plot just right
I find myself torn on all of the books by Ms. Malone I’ve read so far. I enjoy them, but after a while I find they follow a pattern or seem predictable; which is hard to explain as each offers very different characters and situations. Yet there is no mistaking the same author crafted each story, offering such consistent writing and dependable and uniform plots. This book specifically I felt had some challenges for the reader in keeping details straight (Willa’s past had so many minute details that were important and relevant, but hard to keep track of).
I find myself glad to be done reading the book, but at the same time, wondering about the stories for so many of the other characters-I do hope Ariel gets a happily ever after, and my brain needs to know the story behind her team! I do wish they weren’t written as duets as I dislike cliffhangers and would much prefer one long book to delve into. But the author gives us a good solid and enjoyable read each time.
