One error in judgment. That is all it took. They say don’t mix business with pleasure, but I fell in love with the client and now I’ve lost her.But I would do it all over again if it meant keeping her safe. Now I’ll have to fight like hell to earn her trust again. If I don’t, it could cost both of us everything.
This is the second half of the duet, so definitely start with Protecting the Heiress or you won’t have a clue what’s going on!
We get to see what happened after the pretty serious cliffhanger PtH ended with for Neela and Jax, not to mention baby Mayzie. As with all of Nana Malone’s stories, there’s no shortage of action, drama and intense chemistry as we follow the characters along! This one in particular had some really great twists and surprises.
Jax and Neela are a great match, but she needs to get her big, beautiful brain out of the way to see what’s really going on with multiple parts of her life. Jax is a swoony hero and can’t help but be great while just doing his job. The whole cast of characters is fantastic as always, and you can’t help but enjoy yourself as this world continues to grow! Another recommend for Nana Malone!
Security agent Jax Reynolds’ cover as a manny is blown when Neela finds a gun magazine in his room. Jax bares his heart to Neela but she refuses to listen to anything he has to say. Neela Wellbrook never wanted security and wonders if anything of what Jax told her was real. Neela doesn’t believe she’s in danger but what happens when she’s proven wrong?
Tempting the Heiress is an intriguing, suspenseful and steamy story full of twists and turns that will keep you glued to your seat
Jax: Yeah yeah yeah–don’t fall for the client. Who are any of the protectors, bodyguards, etc. I know to talk. Half of them are married to their “protectee”. Things were going okay, I mean great in the bedroom, the baby is irresistible. Then–she found out I’m more than a manny. Truth is on top of her list of must-haves. I knew not telling her was going to backfire. Didn’t know it would hurt so much.
Neela: I should have known–inside I did. What big gorgeous guy like him is going to be the babysitter? I knew getting involved with an employee was wrong anyway. He should have told me. He’s just like all the rest of the males in the world. I don’t care he was told not to say anything. Once he crawled in my bed all bets were off but honesty.
So-Now Jax has to figure out who is after Neela and or Mazie and get her to understand why he wasn’t up front with her. He had to get both of them back in his life. Keeping them safe was first, but a close second was getting her back–if he even had her to begin with. His original reason for taking on the job, was that still important? With the rift between them could he even save her or would her enemies — not going to happen. He’d find a way.
I love this duet–just like the others. Love, danger, gorgeous guys, steam. strong women and this time add a little cutie pie and what more could you want? My strongest recommendation.
WOW!!!!!!! WOW!!!!! WOW!!!!!
Tempting the Heiress is the second book in the Heiress Duet and boy oh boy was it out of this world. Once I started reading this book I was absolutely hooked and could not put it down. Book 2 picks up exactly where book 1 left off, so you definitely need to read these in order.
Suspense, drama, action and mystery drive this book and you will not be disappointed. Jax and Neela have so much chemistry, and even though they are both trying to stay away from each other, they are both fighting an attraction that can’t be ignored.
I absolutely love these characters and I also love how the story isn’t only told from Jax and Neela’s points of view, but some of my other favorite characters as well. The way that the author weaves these stories together so that really there are multiple things happening in each book is flawless.
This book has everything! An amazing plot, amazing writing, and amazing characters. I can not wait to get my hands on the next book because the way this book left off will definitely have you begging for more – By Alisa
Andddd the action continues… ‘Tempting the Heiress’ is the second book of the ‘Protecting the Heiress’ duet. It will be really hard for me to write a review that will not give any spoilers for you so bare with me 🙂 Now that Jax’s secret is out, he faces one thing he was afraid the most, loosing Neela. Neela feels betrayed and she doesn’t want anything to do with Jax. However, soon enough she realizes that her and Mayzie’s life is in danger and she doesn’t have an option other than trust Jax. Jax is loyal to a fault and he does everything to protect the ones he loves. When an unexpected visitor shows up in their safe house, everything changes. Neela is super smart and fearless but sometimes she can be really naïve. It takes her a while to figure out that the treat she is running away is closer to her than she thinks. When the secrets start unrevealing one by one, Jax and Neela has only each other to survive. Mystery and suspense will not stop until the last page. You think it will end there but nope thanks to our King Sebastian, there will be new developments that will add more action to our gang’s lives.
I really enjoyed the ‘Tempting the Heiress’. As always Nana Malone did a great job balancing naughty and steamy to suspense and mystery. This book will suck you in from the first page and you won’t be able to stop until you are done. Cannot wait to read more from Winston Isles residents 🙂
Would I recommend this book: Yes.
Would I re-read this book: Yes.
Would I read future books by this author: Yes.
P.S. I am dying to know what went down between Ariel and Prince Tristan but no worries first book of the Ariel & Tristan’s duet ‘Return of the Prince’ will be releasing on April 30th 🙂 So just for celebration sake, I want to share the song that reminds me Ariel every time I hear it. Check ‘Alan Walker – Lost Control’ out and let me know what you think.
This hot, hot Manny falls for the little Heiress AND her Guardian!
Tempting The Heiress is the second book in Nana Malone’s Heiress Duet, and picks up right where Protecting finishes. So, you absolutely have to read Book 1 first.
Having his cover blown has made things difficult for Jax and Ariel’s team from Royal Elite, and even though Neela is angry and betrayed, the heat and chemistry between her and Jax can’t be denied even if she’s trying to ignore it! As much as she doesn’t want to be dictated to, she can’t fire the team of bodyguards who are watching over baby Mayzie, especially as it seems it’s not only the baby that is in danger. Jax stays, and his hot body and heated looks stay right along with him!
I am also loving the sub-plot that is the undercurrent of this book. Ariel getting her business, Royal Elite off the ground and King Sebastian looking to connect and protect his royal cousin Tristan, who was originally exiled from the Winston Isle because of the takeover coup, and is still staying away. Tristan is in Ariel’s past and I can’t wait to read her story next. 4 Stars.
A•R•C ~ I was given Tempting the Heiress: The Heiress Duet Book #2 by Nana Malone as an Advanced Readers Copy (A•R•C) from Give Me Book Promotions. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.
5 out of 5 STARS
This book is the finally of Neela and Jax’s story, Willa is not dead but faked her death to avoid some bad people who are after her for her greedy and unethical business practices, Willa and Mayzie’s father have been following Neela around trying to get her to work on the ledger faster to solve it so they can read it to get more money, all they care about is making more money, neither Willa or Mayzie’s dad care about Mayzie at all, they are just using her to get Neela to do what they want, SOLVE THE PUZZLE.
With Jax’s occupation of being a bodyguard now out in the open Neela must decide if she care’s about him more than she cared about him lying to her about being a many.
It’s a great read with suspense, humor and plenty of hot sexy scenes. Pick up your copy to check it out, I recommend reading both parts of the Duet in order.
And the author does it again. Protecting the Heiress set us up like pins in an alley, and then along came this one; the bowling ball that expertly knocked us all down for 10 points.
Poor Neela didn’t know whether she was coming or going in the first book, amp that up to a factor of ten and Neela is continuously scrambling for information behind the curve. Almost everything she believed in or knew was questioned or turned upside down. What should have been gone returns. Rash decisions and knee jerk reactions propel Neela down paths she may otherwise have never used. Taking chances and risking it all for the truth, or is the truth as clear cut as it seems?
Mysteries surround the ledger. Everyone wants the ledger but nobody knows what’s in it. Code cracking at its finest. Deception and lies go back and forth. Who would have thought a Winston Isles book without a Royal as the main character would be as intense as this was!
Bex and Adam were firm favourites of mine. They really were there to watch her back and support however or whenever they could. The interplay was so funny at times I couldn’t not chuckle to myself or roll my eyes.
Jax Reynolds; former Royal Guard turned Bodyguard is in so much hot water I expected his skin to redden like a lobster. How someone as smart as him couldn’t see how much of a huge hole he was digging himself, is beyond me. Someone should have taken the shovel off him a while ago. Miss Mayzie May had him wrapped around her pinkie before he could even unpack his bags. Truly priceless.
“You and Mayzie have become my whole world. You are my family. You are the ones who brought me back to life. I should never have discounted that. The only excuse I have is that love broadsided me, and I wasn’t ready. It wasn’t in the plan. All that was supposed to happen was I was supposed to protect the heiress, instead, I fell in love with the both of you.”
Royal Elite is Ariel’s baby and as such she gets a whole lot of page time. Moving her story on in leaps and bounds, it most certainly is leading down an interesting path.
Along comes King Sebastian throwing all manner of wrenches into the machinery. He’s been up against The Council since jumping onto the big chair. Even though his happily ever after has been, these books still leave space for interplay and development of one of the fondest loved characters of Winston Isles.
The balance in any book of this author is sublimely done. Heavy and light. Romantic and intriguing. I am never disappointed and I just can’t stay away
Sexy, sassy and oh so yummy, Neela and Jax make my heart happy. I love where this story goes and all that it promises for the future. Neela and Jax’s relationship and family solidifies as the danger increases. This thrilling conclusion of The Heiress Duet is a must read HEA not only for this story but for what Nana Malone has in store for the members of Royal Elite. Squeeeee!!!!
I gave this book five stars because it was spectacular. Jax and Neela were great together. It is sad that Neela’s friend Willa put her in danger. I guess it was worth it to end up with Mayzie. I am truly excited about Ariel and Tristian’s story. Good job as always Nana!
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. Well, I die not quite expect a twist in the story Like this one. Suddenly all bets are off and you’ll wonder who can be trusted. Nana has a wonderful way of telling/writing stories and it’s always a pleasure reading them. The blooming relationship is a sweet thing to happen to both of them and little Mayzie is just a toothless bonus. Unfortunately their Duett is over now, but Ariel’s thankfully just around the corner!
Let me get this out of the way first…. THE ENDING…. OMGoodness!!! What a tease!!!
Can I say I was nervous that Neela wouldn’t have her HEA? This poor girl is put through the ringer in book 2 of the Heiress Duet. But Nana Malone, as usual, has a plan. And that plan is to show us how badass a woman can be.
Tempting the Heiress picks up exactly where Protecting the Heiress left off, Neela finding out about Jax’s real identity. Instead of letting that pull her into a black hole, it inspired her to take charge of her life and figure out this mess herself.
Prepare for a wild ride.
All I can say is good characters, good story, good writing.
ARC provided in exchange for honest review.
The man who thought he had nothing to lose, discovers what it means to have a family. Jax is all about the risk, but he’s gained a love he refuses to lose. Tempting the Heiress thrills, chills and reveals. Ariel and Jax are on the cusp of gaining forever or losing it all. Malone continues to roar her way into emotions with her larger than life characters. Even at their most flawed, the pull is hard to resist.
Tempting the Heiress book 2 in this duet was absolutely fantastic. There are such twists and turns in this book that my head was spinning. Nana is fantastic at writing and mixing contemporary thrillers and romance at the same time. Jax and Neela were great characters and the baby was delicious. She just kept on bringing more twists and turns to this book. I also loved that right at the end of the book she gives us a glimpse as to what her next duet will be about. I highly recommend this book. I loved it as I love all her books, but this one had such warmth and love, especially between Jax and Neela and baby Mayize. No spoilers here. You need to read this book. BRAVO to Nana for another great duet and book.
This is an amazing conclusion to this duet. The suspense and intrigue never seems to let up. There are twists and turns galore in the plot as the manipulation plays out. Fantastic characters in a tropical setting, this is pure heaven to read.
Neela gives Jax a run for his money in this second book of the duet. Jax had one directive, to not sleep with Neela, but really how can you stop two polarized people from not crashing together. Now that the deed is done, they have to navigate their attraction, protect Mayzie and solve the ledger, really, how hard could it be?
In typical Ariel fashion, chaos ensues and there is a race to decode the ledger and keep everyone in one piece. Oh, and fall in love. Jax is so hunky swoon worthy. Neela is no wallflower and together they are a great team and role models for Mayzie.
We get small glimpses of our other favorite characters which is one of my most favorite parts in series.
“….love bloody broadsided me,…” ~ Jax
Tempting The Heiress by Nana Malone was one adrenaline filled exhilarating ride. I was literally biting my nails and swooning over Jax and Neela all the time. I haven’t read any other author who can mix contemporary romance and thrillers so effortlessly with perfect balance.
The second book of a duet, Tempting the Heiress is about tying up the loose ends. Both in the secret mission and the lead couple’s life. Neela knows now that Jax is not a Manny. The cat is out of the bags and she hurting from the betrayal. She doesn’t want anything to do with Jax but soon she realizes that her life is in danger. And so is little Mayzie. And while they fight the invisible enemies along side each other in their own way, she can’t fight her love for Jax. A treasure hunt with ciphers, codes and secret ledger. International crime world connection. The continuous chase for truth along with the sexy and sizzling hot love story of Jax and Neela. And I devoured it in one sitting.
I love Neela even more than first book. The smart, super intelligent and fearless woman is always the most attractive part of a story to me. And Neela is every one of that along with caring, passionate, loving and loyal to the point of almost mortyrdom. Jax has won me over completely. Seriously why can’t we see these kind of men more in real life? He is protective about Neela and Maizy. He is uber bossy in bed and ruthless skilled soldier. But he also respects Neela and can do anything about her. As usual, you will meet some amazing badass secondary characters from first book again. And Nana Malone left a teasing hint of next book on last chapter.
The plot is flawless and intricate. The writing is smooth, crispy and has a certain edge. Nana Malone knows for sure how to write a complete entertainer. You want sexy, steamy and naughty? Check. You want swoon worthy intense romance? Check. You want some witty banter? Check. You want an adrenaline rush from solving mystery and completing secret missions? Check. Seriously you can’t want anything from a romance that won’t be in this book!
Received ARC for Honest Review
I really enjoyed reading about Jax & Neela along with baby Mayzie. This was a suspenseful finish to their book along with some major sweetness. I also liked the updates from the other royals & the hint of Ariel’s story!
