Where there’s smoke, Ryan is eager to jump into the flames.Ryan, aka Blaze, is a California smokejumper whose motto is “grab life by the balls and hold on tight.” He refuses to accept defeat, and that’s why he fights the world’s biggest wildfires. He loves his job, and it’s even better with a certain quirky woman making a documentary about their team. Every time she’s around, Blaze has a hard … a hard time zipping his jumpsuit.
Scarlett is only interested in finishing this documentary for her dissertation. She isn’t into Blaze’s rugged good looks and crooked smile. The two of them are just buddies—who see each other naked, that is. Between his rough hands and heart of gold, Scarlett wonders how she will be able to walk away once she’s finished filming. But maybe she won’t need to.
When the smoke clears…
Do people fall in love after only a few days? Blaze’s idea might be crazy enough to work. When he says, “I bet you can’t handle a man like me forever,” Scarlett is head-over-heels enough to try. Which means a wild trip to the justice of the peace and a wedding dinner at IHOP is in order.
But now that the fire’s died down and reality has hit, she doesn’t want Blaze in the path of danger. Not when she had everything to lose. And Blaze damn well isn’t giving up the only thing he’s been passionate about. As they fight to build a life out of lust, will they be able to create something out of the ashes?

Book 2 of the flame jumpers series. There is an instant attraction between Scarlett an environmental doctoral student writing/filming her thesis on the California Flames Jumpers and Blaze an alpha, gourgeous , muscle bound flame jumper. The story heats up from there with lots of steamy scenes, emotional issues of separate careers and physical separation. Can these two new lovers sort out the issues of romance among the flames? Steamy series!

Second book in this wonderful series about California Smoke Jumpers and this time we get Blaze(Ryan’s) story We met him in the first book in the series Fighting the Flames and do yourself a favour and grab that as well because like always Em’s books flow her characters are multi dimensional and you are drawn in so deep that you spend hours turning pages
Scarlet has come to smoke jumpers base at base to write her masters dissertation on the affect of fire to the environment (aussie here could that be more relevant) what she actually gets is 200 lbs of all alpha male that is determined that she will be his Blaze has always been the flirt of the group but when he falls he falls hard When a decision to marry while they are away for the weekend should be a happy ending that is when their problems start How can the balance his work with her academic career and how can she handle the danger he is always in and will he even keep his job when he is continually fighting the scales.
This is book 2 in this series but they can be read as a stand alone. The characters are really smoking and the story line will keep you on the edge of your seat

This “Blaze” burns hot!
Book 2 in the “Where There’s Smoke” series is just as hot as book 1. Smokejumpers have to be able to jump in feet first and sometimes blind. Ryan aka Blaze carries that mentality into his relationship with Scarlett. Once the initial fire is under control, will these two be able to keep the embers burning?

Book two of the Where There’s Smoke series a well written short story that held my interest throughout. This is Ryan, aka Blaze a California smokejumper and Scarlett a woman doing a documentary for her dissertation on the Smokejumpers. Ryan’s motto is “grab life by the balls and hold on tight” and with Scarlett that is exactly what he does. I enjoyed reading their story and hope there is going to be more to come in this series. You have to love smokejumpers.
They jumps from airplanes, they are smoking hot, they will make your heart tremor will love and scare.
That happened to Scarlett when she meets Blaze. The tension, the romance, and fears.
Enjoy this interesting and engaging book with great storyline. Go for ice tea first!

Any marriage is a leap of faith. Getting married after only a few days? Bigger than a leap into a fire.
Keeping things together after committing so quickly? A lot harder, because all of the getting to know each other has happened after I Do.
Steamy romance and adventure

How does one balance life when one lives a life full of danger by choice? How can one compromise when compromise means not being one’s full potential? If everyone knew that answer, this book might be unnecessary.

3.5 **** stars. Scarlett is filming a documentary for her doctorate. Blaze is an elite, smokejumper firefighter and the teams live life to its fullest and playboy. He is knocked over when he meets Scarlett. He got the arrow and so did she! They have trials and tribulations to work through, his dangerous job, her research opportunities and how will they manage to see each other. There is plenty firefighter action and steamy stuff. I think more than was needed in place of more dialogue. Another enjoyable Em book and our beloved firefighters.

I received a copy of this book through BookSprout and I voluntarily chose to review it. I will admit I am a fan of Em Petrova and this book is one of her best. This is the second in this series and I have to admit it is better than the first one. It is well written and the characters are wonderful. This was a quick easy read for me and I encourage everyone to get this book. This series is worth your time, trust me. I don’t do spoilers in my reviews so go get the book and see if I am right.

Ryan, aka Blaze was a California smokejumper and he is good at his job that is jumping from a plane to put out the fires. Scarlett is trying to get her documentary for her dissertation by doing it on California smokejumper so she goes to be there in the camp of firefighters who jumps out of plane. Joe is the camp manager for the team is to keep her a live when she goes out with them. Scarlett wants the people to know what it is like in a wild fire and how it does to the land and animals. Now would be the time to get the book. I will be getting more from this author. Thank You for writing the books so we can read them.
There is an old saying that goes, “Marry in haste, Repent at leisure” and that is the clever backbone of this very entertaining read. I thought that Blaze and Scarlett’s story was super easy to get into. I loved the contrast between these two and I firmly believe that Blaze could charm the birds from the trees if he wanted to. This story is filled with more than enough heat, intense emotions and drama to keep you focused until the last page is turned.
I loved this book. It was a good story chalked full of emotions. It’s hot and steamy. Blaze and Scarlett’s attraction was hot and instant. I really want more books in this series. I hope that the author writes more in this series.
Scarlett is there on the smokejumper base for a month to film them for her dissertation. She meets Ryan aka Blaze and their attraction to one another is fast and hot. They start a relationship and things seem to be going great for the couple but then real-life sets in. Scarlett realizes that Blazes job puts him in danger frequently and Blaze realizes that Scarlett’s career is going to take her away from him. Can they work through their issues and make things work or will this split them up for good?

What a terrific whirlwind romance!
Blaze is instantly smitten with the pretty doctoral student who is filming a documentary for her research project. Scarlett’s focus is on environmental studies, and she finds a kindred spirit with Blaze, a man who cares as much for the land and its inhabitants as she does.
I loved the way that Blaze – living up to his name – blazed right on past all convention and competition to make Scarlett his while remaining a perfect gentleman. One thing is for certain with this author, you can count on her to build the steam from a strong, deep emotional connection.
These two rush headlong into an epic romance for the ages, barely taking notice of the difficulties they’re bound to have trying to mix his seasonal work schedule with her research assignment. Blaze and Scarlett really have one of the most romantic love stories I’ve read in a very long time, and every bit of it felt genuine and realistic. This is a fantastic story, every bit as good as the first book, maybe even a little better. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
This is a story about finding love in an unexpected place, grabbing on to it with both hands and taking chances.
Blaze aka Ryan is 100% Alpha male who is good as what he does and has made smoke-jumping his life’s work. Scarlett is working on her Masters and is captivated by Blaze. The push and pull between these two is so different from the first book and I fell in love with them.
A great second in series, this book also shows regeneration of the areas after the fire – and regeneration of love and relationships when they are threatened. I found the instalove slightly offputting – Em Petrova builds to it, highlighting Blaze’s determination to seize each moment, but it’s still slightly jarring. He and Scarlett are a great couple, though, and again the chemistry is orbital. I loved how he insisted she use his name, rather than his nickname; it made their scenes very much more intimate. There is so much more insight into Joe in this book – I hope he gets his own story and soon, and that we find out more about Riggs.

“Tempting the Flames” (Where There’s Smoke Book 2) by Em Petrova is a smoking hot read. I loved Ryan ‘Blaze’ and Scarlett’s story! I enjoyed catching up with the smokejumpers again. This story has action, passion, interesting and entertaining characters, and more. This is a fantastic addition to the series. I can’t wait to see what happens next with this entertaining group of characters. Highly recommend to all fans of romance, firefighting, action, and series.
