Can a vivacious radio goddess and an all-work accountant turn up the volume on their future, or will they decide the numbers don’t add up?
Deejay Mabel Bowen rocks the morning airwaves, but once she signs off, she’s happy going home alone; a long-ago humiliation taught her that women in the public eye should be cautious about dating. Then she meets the Clark Kent-ish accountant overseeing the … overseeing the sale of her radio station and starts wondering if she should break her own “girl, don’t date him” rules.
Since he was teenager, Jake Carey has worked to lift his family out of poverty, and he’s now on the verge of a promotion that’ll secure their financial future. Why, then, is he so quick to set aside his spreadsheets whenever the gorgeous morning show host is around? After years of using work as an excuse to avoid searching for emotional connections, he’s now jumping at every chance to spend time with Mabel and her maple syrup voice.
Despite their initial reservations,Mabel and Jake move from conversations over coffee to flirty office lunches to a night out that obliterates all their previously drawn lines. Then a professional betrayal sends Mabel fleeing back to the safety of her single-girl rules. But Jake isn’t ready to give up on this once-in-a-lifetime love and sets out to balance their work/life books.

** spoiler alert ** Mabel has sworn off work-romance relationships. Jake doesn’t have time for a relationship with his goals to make partner. Their attraction can’t be denied, but will they realize what is important before it is too late?
I absolutely loved watching these two finding and accepting love. I didn’t blame Jake for being slow to change his path because it had been his only path for so long, but loved how when he made up his mind, he went full force. I didn’t blame Mabel at all for being scared because once burned, twice shy, but loved seeing her let down her walls. Good read!
I love this series and I loved this book! This is one of my new favorite authors. I recommend starting with the first book and working your way through for maximum enjoyment. It’s a great read!

I really like Mabel and her snarky self. I like the way she interacts with Dave. I like the way she goes through life. I feel her pain at the way she avoids romance. I love her interactions with Jake and the chemistry they try to hide from each other. I am a little put off by how many times they almost make a real connection. I think Jake could have realized his mistakes at being such a workaholic and the reasons for it a little sooner. I love the setting and the history between Mabel and Dave and Ana. This is a sweet story with spice. I have not read anything else by this author but have already picked up the first book in this series.

This is the story of Mabel Bowen, a gregarious early morning DJ, and Jake Carey, a workaholic accountant. They both have issues from their past that should keep them apart. But opposites attract, and no matter how hard they try to stay away from each other, they simply can’t. Their interactions are hysterical, as they really are two entirely different personalities, and the secondary characters are hysterical as they try to convince these two that they shouldn’t try so hard to stay apart.
I’m new to Sara Whitney’s books, but now I’m going to have to go find her other books!
This is book number 3 in this series. Mabel and Jake story is entertaining, and the banter between these two is great. Promises, secrets, betrayal will have Mabel and Jake running from there past and there future. Flirty office lunches to one night out will blur the lines between what is professional and personal. Will a little miss understanding ruin everything for these two. Can Jake convince Mabel to turn up the volume on their future, or will she decide that the numbers don’t add up?

Tempting Talk will make you laugh, cry, blush & swoon. Jake has had one goal for as long as he can remember, to make Partner at his firm. When he meets fun, sexy fast-talking Mabel he starts to drift away from his rigid & orderly life and begins to focus on something other than work While there’s an immediate spark, both are cautious about mixing business with pleasure. Their color group of friends & co-workers help them realize that somethings are worth the risk.
Wonderfully fantastic… The book was amazing… It had a lot of details and juicy scenes to it… The characters and their personalities match them perfectly… The plot and the storyline was very descriptive and amazing…

I had a great time with Mabel the sexy coed DJ and Jack the hot accountant. Mabel is leery about getting involved with Jake due to a past humiliation. Jake was not looking for a relationship but after meeting Mabel he decided she is worth the time. The characters are well developed and engaging and the chemistry between them is undeniable. The flow of the storyline flowed smoothly.

I loved Sara Whitney’s “Tempting Talk,” a sweet, witty, and engaging story featuring likeable, complex characters. The main characters of this story, Jake and Mabel, were very well matched, and it was truly a pleasure to see them find happiness with each other after they had both been burned so badly by romantic partners in the past.
I was intrigued by Jake, the male lead, when he was introduced earlier in this series. He seemed so polished and sophisticated, and I never suspected how sensitive he actually was beneath that cool, workaholic exterior. He threw himself into his work to compensate for feelings of loneliness and yearning for an emotional connection with a romantic partner. Mabel also buried herself in work, though her reasons for doing so were somewhat different from Jake’s. However, they understood each other in a very unique way, and couldn’t help being drawn together despite the obstacles standing in the way of a relationship.
In addition to the central romance between Jake and Mabel, I enjoyed the dynamic between Mabel and her best friend/co-host, Dave. They acted like brother and sister at times, which made for some very amusing interactions. Dave’s wife Ana was pretty great too, and I loved the way she encouraged Mabel to step out of her comfort zone and pursue a relationship with Jake.
Overall, I highly recommend “Tempting Talk” and look forward to reading the next book in this series.

Rating: 4 stars (of 5).
In general: Sassy radio DJ finds love with ambitious accountant .
Main characters:
– Mabel (Mae) Brown.
DJ at a local radio station in Beaucoeur, Illinois. She’s content with her single status since – years ago – a bad break up with her former boyfriend, son of her boss, resulted in loosing her dream job at a great radio station in California.
– Jake Carey.
Since his youth he – successfully – worked very hard to lift his family out of poverty. No time for pleasure or dates.
– Dave Chilton.
For many years Mabel’s partner in their duo radio talk show. He was loyal to Mae when she was fired in California and followed her to Illinois. He’s happily married and he and his wife are Mabel’s best friends.
Mabel and Jake meet when the firm of Jake’s friend Brandon buys the Beaucoeur radio station. Jake’s accountancy is hired by Brandon to make the local, heretofore family owned radio station profitable. Brandon as the new owner will modernize the radio station and Jake will assist him with info of the financial aspects of the sale. A successful assignment will make him partner of his firm
Jake and Mabel are physically attracted from the first moment. But to start a permanent relationship will be problematic: Mabel had a bad experience in the past and Jake’s ambition to create a profitable radio station could conflict with wishes of the staff (and Mabel).
Then the author, Sara Whitney, creates an nice plot with wonderful characters, unexpected turns in the story and interesting information about a local radio station.
In my opinion it’s a good thing that Sara Whitney isn’t a copy writer for DJ talkshows: for me the jokes between Mae and Dave felt a bit forced and not really funny. But that was made up for by the rest of the book. A pleasure to read.
R. Huiszoon.

Book three of the Tempt Me series a well written story with a very good storyline the story flows smoothly across the pages. I enjoyed reading Deejay Mabel Bowen and Jake Carey story. For me this is a must read book. I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, but I also found it to be an exercise in frustration. Jake is a total sweetheart. It took me longer than I’d like to admit remembering who Jake was at first, but as we’d seen in the previous books, he will move heaven and earth to make sure that his mother and sister are taken care of. (Even if they don’t need that from him anymore.) Mabel was badly burned by a previous intraoffice relationship and that’s made her extremely reluctant to trust, on a personal level, any man she works with. Together, this pair was like oil and water: they were constantly separating from one another. And that’s where all my frustration came from. We spend a lot of time watching Jake and Mabel get almost together only for them to break apart again, and again, and again, and again. I love that we get them together in the end, but for all that drama and angst getting them there, it happens so fast. I blinked and I felt like I missed something important. I’m very curious about the set up of the next book, so I’m really looking forward to seeing what that story brings us.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book through Hidden Gems Books.
Entertaining but also frustrating. We first meet Jake in Tempting Taste but we didn’t learn much about him. In this book, the 3rd in the series, we find out Jake is an amazing man. His main goal is that of other’s to make sure his family is taken care of even if he has to work himself to the bone to do it. Mabel is an amazing DJ and when they meet, Jake soon realizes just how lonely his life is. Mabel and Jake both have pasts that have engineered them to be self sufficient. They both tend to push partners away. There are way too many times this couple ‘almost’ becomes a couple and that became frustrating and I wish the author hadn’t strung us along so many times. For me, it took away from the read. But, all in all, accept for that, it was a good read. exasperating. I voluntarily received an arc copy of this book by Hiddengems
Whitney has become one of my favorite authors in a short amount of time. She delights with sassy characters that tickle the funny bone and melt your heart and makes a point while doing so. Tempting Talk flirts it’s way past your defenses with laugh out loud dialogue, captivating characters and tempting storytelling. Jake and Mabel both have something to prove to themselves and the world around them, that may end up costing them more than they could possibly know. Tempting Talk will shake up your emotions in classic Sara Whitney fashion. With humor and heart.
I enjoyed this book a lot. I love Jake and was actually pretty surprised by that. When I first “met” him in Tempting Taste he did not leave that much of an impression but Jake is an incredible man whose only goal is to make sure his family is taken care of even if he has to work himself to the bone to do it. That is until he helps his old college roommate with the finances at the new radio station he purchased. There he meets the enticing dj Mabel, who finally makes him see that his life is pretty lonely.
Mabel and Jake both have qualms about relationships and this book moves rather slowly with both Jake and Mabel pushing the relationship away. There are a lot of false starts here, so much so it definitely got exasperating. That being said, the chemistry between the two is great. The characters are fun, the writing is solid, and the story is interesting. It is a solid four and a half star book, but they won’t let me rate it that way. In the end, Jake and Mabel figure it out and get the HEA.
**I did receive a free copy advanced of this book from Sara Whitney and InkSlinger Pr in exchange for a fair and honest review**
I absolutely adored Tempting Talk by Sara Whitney; It had all the great ingredients that make a truly memorable story. Strong, well-developed main characters that are realistic and relatable, with deep and plausible chemistry. Three-dimensional friendships that both recognize the MC’s flaws and help them rise above them. Past heartaches that stand in the way of finding one’s ‘forever’ person, and growing, not just as people but together as a couple. This story made me laugh, sigh, shout in triumph and blink away tears as I enjoyed my front-row seat for the journey Mabel and Jake took to make it through to togetherness.
