I loved Tempting Irish. Bree and Owen’s story is a sad but wonderfully heartwarming one.
Bree is a fighter. She is strong, brave and determined. Life hasn’t always been kind to Bree.
As a child she was torn from a home filled with people that loved and cared about her only to be place in an environment that seemed void of love. Feelings of abandonment and loneliness have plagued Bree throughout her young life.
An unfortunate incident happens causing Bree to grow accustomed to living a life on the run. Always looking over her shoulder to see if the consequences of her past are going to catch up with her.
Finally gathering enough courage Bree makes the decision to travel back to her homeland to face her family and the man she’s loved since she was a child.
Chance has her coming face to face with Owen the first night that she arrives and presents her with a possibility she always dreamed of. She throws caution to the wind and jumps at the opportunity. Yes, he maybe angry with her later but she’ll cross that bridge when she gets there.
Once again I miss being able to give 4.5/5! Well edited.
Bree fell for Owen when she was 12. But, he was older and she moved from Ireland to America. However, her 12 year old heart determined that someday, he would be hers. Years later the band has just finished its latest tour and is staying in Dublin for the wedding of Emer and Aiden. (They married in Vegas, but mama wants to see…) Bree has come to the same hotel to see if she can reconnect with family she thinks she had lost. She literally bumps into Owen in the lobby, but he does not recognize her. He offers her a place to stay – the hotel being inconveniently booked – which she finally agrees to take. They almost have one night, but a call from Shane pulls Owen from the room. Whew! The next morning, Owen is less than pleased to find her gone from the room, then sitting at breakfast with the rest of the band, and then realize that she is someone he should have recognized. From there, Owen and Bree begin a dance of push and pull as they navigate through the feelings the other creates in them. Both have been hurt by their parents and have trust issues as a result. Owen says some stupid things, and Bree heads back to America. Just before she leaves, Owen tries to get her to stay, but she doesn’t trust he is offering more than a fling, and Owen neglects to say the 3 words that matter. Will Owen give up and let her go, or will he chase after the woman he loves? Will Bree open up her heart and love, or will she keep protecting herself from possible hurt?
This was a really quick, light, good, and satisfying read. The only thing I had wished (like another reviewer) was that the issues Owen was having with the headaches would have been addressed? Were the headaches a result of the head injury, or were they just a result of the emotional turmoil he had going on? Read this in about 3 hours. Enjoy!
Owen and Bree are reunited and boy oh boy does it feel so good. Bree was torn away from home, family, and everything she loved when her mother decided to up stakes to America after her internet beau. Even more soul crushing, young Bree left behind Owen the boy she hopelessly loved but whom pined after her cousin and saw her as nothing more than a tomboy kid. He promised to write though and that no amount of distance could break the bound of family they shared. Worse than unrequited love is being forgotten in a distant lonely land while being subjected to her mother’s controlling and harsh boyfriend. Bree learned the hard way to rely on herself and that most fairy tales are for suckers. When she decides to confront her family again she hopes she will have some sort of connection to bonds she once had. All around Owen love is running rampant, his brother is happily married and expecting a baby and one of his best friends and band mates is married to the girl he always pined for and they will be welcoming a baby anytime now. For him though, he has been feeling empty and restless – a listlessness that he cannot shake. When a beautiful mysterious stranger catches his eye he figures he could use a night of release. His shock and dismay comes when he discovers that the mystery woman turns out to be not stranger but Beatrice and boy oh boy does he feel duped. Owen his now frustrated for several reasons – she lied by omission of who she was, he really wants to finish what they started and his family now is meddling in his personal life. He can tell Bree is hiding dark and sad things about her life and he wants her to open up to him, but trust is a two way street and he will need to give if he wants some take. Usually he is Mr. One Night but being with Bree makes him yearn for something so much more but she is quite gun shy after watching her mother’s terrible choices. Can Owen make a tempting enough offer to entice Bree to give him a shot at a HEA?
I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book.
So much love for this book/series/author, I am continually blown away by this authors talents, every book she writes I get lost in. They consume me, and I have to finish in one setting no matter the time. This one is no different I want to be apart of the Wild Irish group, I wanna hang out with them, and while reading I feel like I am right there in Ireland immersed in all their brooding Irish charm. Owen is probably the perfect definition of a Irish lad. He is a little defeated in life right now, his best mate is married and knocked up his ultimate woman, that he has been in love with since they where teens, he is having headaches and medicates with alcohol, He is empty, just going through the motions of life. Bree is back in Ireland spending her last dollar, with no job, and she is all alone. She is trying to reconnect with her only family she knows her cousins and aunt, but she hasn’t seen or heard from them since she moved to the US when she was 12. She has always had a crush on Owen since she was just little Beatrice who followed around her cousins not fitting in. The first person she runs into is Owen but he has no clue who she is and she’s not telling just yet.
I loved Bree and felt for her and just wanted to hug her she was so strong and resilient but alone. I think she really taught Owen how to love and heal and just feel. I loved everything about this story , didn’t want it to end. I happily read this ARC to share my love of this story.
Wow, I loved this story! One rock god. One girl from his past and an ocean between them.
Beatrice has loved Owen Gallagher since she was young but her mother was remarrying and she was forced to move to the United States at the age of twelve. He promised to write. Actually, all her friends and family promised her many letters but she received none. Not a single one and she has been devastated. Her step-father was not a nice man and was cruel to her. Her mother took off chasing another man and abandoned her daughter into the care of the mean step-father.
Owen Gallagher used to be a major man-whore but lately not so much. He suffers from terrible migraines since someone busted his head open and he has a hole inside him that he has been unable to fill. The band is constantly concerned about him and Owen doesn’t know what to do to fill the loneliness and emptiness.
One night of anonymity. One night to live out her fantasies that have always centered on Owen.
They meet but Owen doesn’t recognize her. He thinks she looks familiar but can’t place her. The hotel mixed up her reservations and she has nowhere to stay. She knows the band and their family members (who is her family as well) are meeting at that hotel for a get together. Guess who was behind her in line. Yep! She shares his room but not much else as he is called away by Shane, a band member who was having sex with a fan-girl and the condom broke. He is beside himself so Owen spends most of the night with him. Owen is extremely attracted to the woman sharing his room and he really wanted her but his friend came first.
When she was twelve-years-old her foremost thought was that ‘someday he’ll be mine.’
We don’t have to wait several chapters to arrive at the heart of this story. It just jumps right into your heart and mind and I was completely unable to set it aside for a single moment until the end. And if that wasn’t enough I re-read it the next day.
This was a delicious reunion and the story was grand. I definitely recommend this book as well as the series. Just lovely!z
This is the second book in the Wild Irish Series by CM Seabrook. It is about Owen and Bree.
Friends in childhood, before Bree moved away to America, She and Owen are reunited when Bree returns as an adult to visit family. To begin with, Owen has no clue who she is. But Bree knows exactly who he is. Bree has always loved Owen, from the time she was a child. Owen wants Bree, when he doesn’t know who she is, but doesn’t want to want her once he realizes that she is “Baby Bee” from his younger years. Miscommunication, hidden feelings, and secrets threaten to destroy what they could have.
Owen is a very conflicted character. He doesn’t know his own mind, or just can’t admit it to himself, much less anyone else. Bree knows what she wants but doesn’t think she can or should have it.
This series is not like any other “Rocker Romance” series that I’ve read. While it does follow a Rock Group, they don’t seem to be the stereotypical Rock Group. There is more focus on the day to day interactions and family time rather than touring and concerts. Both stories so far have been very enjoyable, and the very best of what a romance should be. Great writing and interesting characters kept me glued to my kindle!
Loved this great story and characters!! Really enjoy this authors writing style!! Look forward to reading more!!
I loved this book!! Bree is 12 when she moves away from Ireland. She returns 10 years later to find her family and love. Owen is the typical rock God. He doesn’t recognize Bree. Once he does, whew!!
I loved this book, just as I loved Wild Irish. This one had me both laughing and crying at different parts. It showed how insensitive guys can really be unbeknownst to them. It was the ultimate happily ever after, her childhood crush fell in love with her and she had her man, her family and her story book ending. Can’t wait for the next book in the series!
I loved these characters
