It’s cold outside, but it’s getting hot inside…
An unforgiving blizzard
Tom Castle ended up in the wrong apartment on the wrong day. Now a ferocious snowstorm has him trapped with his onetime crush and longtime regret, which is pretty much in line with his lifelong bad luck.
An unwelcome houseguest
Finn Carey has no choice. Although it’s tempting to let Tom take his chances on the streets … Although it’s tempting to let Tom take his chances on the streets of Chicago, she doesn’t want anyone to die in a snowbank— not even the man who hurt her so badly years ago.
An unexpected second chance
At first, Tom and Finn do their best to ignore each other in the close quarters. Then the power goes out, and things between them heat up as the secrets start to flow. Which will thaw first: the storm raging outside or the ice protecting their hearts?
Tempting Heat is the first book in Tempt Me, Sara Whitney’s sassy, sexy new contemporary romance series.

3.5 stars! First timing reading Sara Whitney, and it was good. The premiss is a little far-fetched, but that is why romance works. An archnemesis from high school happens to fall asleep in your roommates’ room during a blizzard where they get to spend the whole extended time hashing out their differences in the event and reacquainting themselves as adults.
Tempting Heat proves that short and sweet can leave a lasting impression. Whitney tempts with heartache and enchants with romance. Finn and Tom reel you in by the heart and set about claiming the senses.
Very much enjoyed this novella. Great chemistry between the characters. Love a bit of second chance romance.
It is always a good story when you can definitely relate to the characters (Tom and Finn) and feel somewhat like you are the main character. How often do you have best friends who have a mutual attraction to each other only to not act on those feelings because you think the other isn’t interested?
I have to admit I was a little mad at the roommate (Josie) for the way she acted and treated Finn when she returned from her work trip. I would have been mad had she ruined everything!
This was a short read for me (one sitting) and I cannot wait to read more from Sara Whitney and learn more about Josie and Jake.
I received a copy of this book through Hidden Gems ARCs for an honest review.
This was a great quick read. I just wished that Tom made Finn grovel a bit more. Both need to sit down and have it out a long time ago.
Delightful
Finn and Tom knew each other in high school when he had a secret crush on her; however, he never had the nerve to let her know. When they are trapped together several years later due to a blizzard it gives them a chance to discover and reveal their true feelings to each other. For such a short read Ms. Whitney did an excellent job of painting her characters that at times I felt like I was right there with them. Great characters in this very well written story.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Chicago Blizzard forces Finn to stay home with plans to relax and watch some TV. But when her former best friend, Tom walks out of her room mates bedroom all the old feelings surface. She hasn’t talked to him in years since he betrayed her when she broke up with her boyfriend who happened to be Tom’s best friend. But being trapped in a snowstorm leaves plenty of time to talk things out, get to the truth of things and have all the old feelings comes back. Quick funny read about second chances and righting misunderstandings. I received a complimentary ecopy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my review.
I loved that this is a quick read and gives you a taste of the other stories to come as well. Tom and Finn come together again during a blizzard and sparks fly. Even though they haven’t been friends for a long time you can still feel their longing but also their hurt. Being in close quarters thaws them out just right. It’s sweet and sexy and I can’t wait to read the others.
This book is the first I’ve read by Sara Whitney and I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The book is in a third person narrative and follows the story of Finn and Tom. As stories go, this wasn’t the most original I’ve read but it was sweet and I am a sucker for a cute romance.
Tempting Heat is a second chance romance. Finn and Tom have history together and haven’t been friends since what happened in high school. After finding themselves snowed in together for the weekend, the two of them begin to reconnect.
For a novella this story had the perfect pace and made me interested in the rest of the series. I liked the style of writing and the characters were fully realised and realistic. A solid start for sure!
I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
Tom and Finn have unfinished business they need to iron out. He hurt her years ago and a snow storm has pushed them together. When the power goes out feelings that were dormant come to surface. Will Tom get redemption and a chance for a second chance with Finn? This story will have you all aboard cheering these two to a happily ever after. I voluntarily agreed to receive an ARC of this book for an honest review.
This is a cute little diddy. It is a second chance (of sorts) romance. She was his best friends girl back in high school. They had a falling out and now it’s eight years later and they are forced into each others space. Little does the other know, but there was mutual attraction all those years ago… and it’s all still there now. The characters feel real. There’s a little angst and a few laughs. There is some sexual content, but it’s toned down and not explicit. This is a novella, so it’s a quick read. Perfect for in between books. Because of being a novella, you don’t get too in depth with the characters or the backstory. You get just enough.
This is a quick and easy read. The storyline is well-crafted, intriguing, suspenseful, has drama and steam. The characters are defined, and likable with sizzling chemistry. I liked it.

I am such a sucker for a second chance romance. Finn and Tom are relatable and quickly became characters that I wanted to know more about. Tom is accidentally stranded in Finn’s apartment during a snowstorm and their awkward past makes things interesting.
I loved getting an inside peek at these characters and enjoyed my first Sara Whitney novel. I am definitely looking forward to seeing where this series takes us.
I really enjoyed this simple story about Finn and Tom who get snowed in at Finn’s apartment during a blizzard. During high school they used to be closer, but a unfortunate event ruined that and now they hate each other. This is a great story about miscommunication and harbouring a grudge and how it can have an effect on your life. Tom and Finn are a great couple, and this is a simple story short and sweet. The author’s writing style is very easy read, interesting and fast paced. It’s a truly entertaining story!
