Tempting Dusty (The Temptation Saga #1) was another great read by Helen Hardt. Dusty O’Donovan isn’t afraid of a feisty stud bull that has been deemed untamable. She is an accomplished rider who has been thrown many tough challenges in her life. Zach McCray is the bull’s owner and is offering a half a million dollars for anyone who can stay on the bull for eight minutes. That money would help Dusty and her brother rebuild their almost bankrupt ranch. Zach doesn’t want to let a woman ride the bull but Dusty is intriguing to him. I really enjoyed reading Dusty and Zach’s story and can’t wait to read more by Helen Hardt.
This such an AMAZING story. Dusty loose her mother at a young. When she grows up she gets the same cancer her mother had but she gets it. And find the love her life that she know years ago.
This was a decent enough story that I enjoyed it, but the plot and characters weren’t terribly memorable.
I enjoy this author, and have loved a lot of what she’s written, so I jumped at the opportunity to read one of her earlier books that I hadn’t read yet. This was a tough book for me, dealt with a subject near and dear to my heart given my mom passed away from AML leukemia after a very short battle. I connected with the situation with Dusty and Sam’s mom, felt for Sam having to leave his only childhood friend Chad because of the dire situation with his mom, but for me, that’s where the connection ended. I found Dusty to be rather an airhead when it came to her relationship with Zach, and truly disliked the word “darlin” by the time the story ended. Rather predictable on how things would play out in the end given the situations between Zach and Dusty, and really didn’t care for the secrets, just irritating. Did like Dusty’s ability to read animals, especially with Jemma and the kittens. Overall just an okay book.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book
Why did I took so long to read this?
Amazing reading. I love Dusty character. She’s so strong and adorable, I just want to hug her and don’t let go.
And Zach, oh Zach!!!!!!! He’s so sweet. An sweet Alpha …… I mean, his character is…… is everything.
Some scenes had me crying, others pissed, and others just wanting the slap the senses of some of the characters.
Action packed, sexy, fun and emotional journey filled with exciting and engaging charters, witty and fun dialog, heart racing twists, thrilling turns and so much passion. Was an edge of your seat, highly entertaining read from beginning to end.
Overall 3 out of 5 stars
Performance 3 out of 5 stars
Story 3 out of 5 stars
Sweet and sad
Dusty and Zach had a past that was more and less what neither of them knew it would become. Their sweet and sad beginning was an impression left on one life and a memory for the other. Watching as Dusty fight to get the chance to do what no one else could do was interesting. Seeing what resulted from her working to get the chance to try was a growing attraction between her and Zach.
There story provides a cast of character that allow for you to grow to love them with each new installment.
TEMPTING DUSTY (Temptation Sagas Book #1) By Helen Hardt
Dusty O’Donovan is a special woman, a bull rider that can also whisper to bulls. Zach McCray is the wealthy rancher that is entering his bull into the rodeo with a huge $500,000 purse as winnings. Dusty wants the money that could help her and her brother keep from losing their ranch if she can stay on the mean bull that cannot be ridden the full time of 8 seconds. Zach is determined to not let Dusty do this and she is determined to try. The sparks are flying between these two. Read to see what happens now! This is another of the addictive stories that Helen Hardt consistently produces. Her work is always well written with solid story lines, great characters, drama, mystery, angst and passionate burning hot chemistry. This is another example of why she is such a talent. Definitely a 5 star read.
I loved this story. The O’Donovan and McCray kids were childhood friends on the McCray ranch, McCray Landing in Colorado, until Mollie O’Donovan gave up her fight against leukemia and wanted to go back to Montana to die. Seventeen years later, they meet again at a Denver rodeo. Sam and Chad pick up their friendship as if no time has passed, and Zak is mesmerized by the woman that little Dusty has become. She is now a barrel racer and Bull Whisperer and Sam a Bronc buster. They need to win their competitions to save their ranch and Dusty wants to win the purse on riding Zak’s bull, El Diablo. Zak has no intention of letting her ride him, but is willing to humor her by letting her near him, just so he can spend time with her. She wants to spend time with him too, but she has a secret, which most intuitive writer quickly surmise, that keeps her pushing him away. There is also a jealous ex and a jealous sibling that also try to keep them apart. Well written with relatable characters and snappy banter.
I read an ARC from NetGalley.com. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.
Tempting Dusty is a quick hot read. I loved this one. Childhood friends reunite and boy do the sparks fly between Dusty and Zach. You feel for Dusty the entire read. You hold her in your heart once you learn what she is hiding. Zach is wonderful and will make you swoon. You just feel that pull between them that you know isn’t going to give. Zach and Dusty are hot together. I couldn’t get enough of them. I can’t wait for what I to come next in the Temptation Saga.
Set in the country with ranchers, bull riders and barrel racers. Dusty’s family used to work for the McCray’s until her mother got very sick and they left town. Years later she comes back and reunites with one the McCray brothers. Sparks fly but there’s secrets in the way of the young couple’s future together. Read to find the sweetest ending of all. You won’t regret it!
I absolutely love love love Dusty and Zach!! And I wanted to throttle Angelina and Chelsea! Such a fantastic love story with a HEA. The love scenes were hot hot hot.
WoAh!!!
I absolutely loved this book. I was a little different from what I usually read from Helen but this was such a cute story. I wasn’t as hot and spicy as Helen’s more recent work but Im perfectly fine with that.
It was very short and easy read. I loved how Dusty and Zach were so into each other despite learning the true reason Dusty was running from Zach. I really thought I knew what was going to happen at the end of the book and toward the end, I was definitely wrong.
Thank you Helen for a GREAT STORY!!!
I tried to like this book. But, I’ve discovered that if I need to try, it just isn’t going to work. Dusty is at a rodeo with her brother. She’s just about hit her 5 year mark after having cancer. And she wants to ride a particular bull, owned by the hero of the story, Zach, because 8 seconds comes with a huge purse that could pay off their debts after she’s been through cancer treatments.
I thought the premise had promise, but something happened in the interim. First of all, Dusty, no matter what kind of animal whisperer she seems to be, is a bit to naive to be bull riding. And the friend that helps her with the situation later in the story does something that is totally unrealistic. There are rules and regulations at these rodeos, and she broke a pretty huge one without being cited or fined. Honestly, before I got involved with any man, I’d tell him the truth about my cancer, so how she thought it was okay to do what she did and not tell him is beyond me.
I found her unlikable and whiney. The fact that little attention was giving when she lost her virginity was ridiculous and pretentious. It honestly sounded like the virginity thing was thrown in as a last minute twist that just didn’t work. I found Zach to be much too gullible.
To me, it fell flat. I gave it two stars because it has potential. But the author really needs to go back and rethink some of the situations from a more realistic point of view.
Good twist on having a female bull rider. Female character starts out feisty and ends up a little weak but a good read for someone who believes in romance.
I loved this book and all the books she writes
Engaging, kept my interest throughout
Truly inspirational. Dusty hasn’t had a great life. But she kept her head up and lived. Zach came back into her life at just the right time. The time she needed him most. They gave each other the love and support each one needed, when they needed it. And the precious gift at the end…….way to end it.
Enjoyed this book. My only complaint was there are a lot of “darlin’s”. But over all it was sweet with a happy ending.
Awesome series. Must read
