Oh boy! Chase’s story should be fun. Goodness, what happened at the dinner for the families before Alyssa and Beau’s wedding? It is interesting to watch how far into the main storyline that each of these subsequent books picks up. Where does Katie work? How long has she known the Kipling family What do we learn about Cade, his girlfriend, and how Katie feels about her? The interlude with Katie, Summer, and Tim outside the church was fun. Oh, Mrs. Erickson is a hoot!!! Oh man, as Katie thinks about her life, I started to feel bad. Will Chase ever get his head out of his backside and wake up? What is it with the Kipling men freaking out about things? Oh my, who were the two drunk jerks and who were they looking to have some fun with? What wakes Katie up between 0330 and 0400? What does she learn in the morning when she goes to work? Who are Gwen, Tommy, Kevin, and Mary? How are they or do they get involved with this story?

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book
Tempting Chase is book three in this series. As with the two previous books in the series, the author does a good job pulling you into the story. This book was a bit different that the previous two because the majority of the book takes place in town since that is where Katie lives and works. This book ha a bit of suspense but nothing to eventful or angst. In fact, I enjoyed the light suspense aspect in this book very much.
Chase and his twin brother Cade have been friends with Katie since childhood. Their friendship has always been platonic and both brothers are protective of her. But there has never been any romantic feelings. That is until a comment made by another man, shines a new light on Katie where Chase is concerned. After twenty years of friendship, Chase is seeing Katie in a whole new light. Predictably, he doesn’t know what to do with his new feelings. Katie has no problem showing him what to do. She has loved him for so long. When she finally makes the decision to “go fo it,” Chase is not prepared. I loved watching these two together. I believed their attraction. The chemistry between Chase and Katie was scorching and when they finally acted on their attraction, it was perfect.
From that point on, the story moves very quickly. Chase will make some mistakes in which a lot of groveling is involved. I actually loved that part. The grand gestures from flawed heroes are some of my favorite aspects of romance novels and this one did not disappoint.
Without saying anything more, I will tell you that I truly liked this book. Chase has been one of many favorite characters from when we meet him in the first book. His twin brother Cade’s book is going to be my next read and I can’t wait to see how that one turns out.
This is my honest and unbiased review. Thank you for taking the time to read it. 🙂
This is the third book in this awesome series and is Katie and Chase’s story. Katie as well as Chase and his twin have been best friends since grade school, and Katie has always hid her feeling for Chase as he has her firmly placed in the friend zone. When somebody new arrives in town and takes an interest in Katie, this is a wakeup call for Chase, but is it too late to move on from friends / lovers? This is a well written story which is emotional, sweet, fun, and an all round entertaining read. I look forward to reading more from this talented author, whose work I highly recommend for all.
I liked this friends-to-lovers romance. The plot was fun and the characters likable. I could really sympathize with Katie and her unrequited feelings for Chase. She has been crushing on one of her best friends forever and if you have ever been in that situation, you know it’s not easy. Add in that turmoil you feel over the risk of a loosing a wonderful, tried and true friendship at the risk of a could it be love, and you have an emotional story that tugs at your heartstrings. A good read and a good addition to this series.
