Out of all the angels in this series so far, Tegan is the one that won my heart. He isn’t searching for a mate he just wants to be left alone to fight demons and keep everyone safe. Then Rhea comes along and everything changes along with secrets being revealed and deceit. I love when an author gives a character a second chance at love and Valerie did just that with this book.
And so it begins
I have been waiting for Tegan’s story – if there was ever a character that deserved an HEA it is him.
That being said I dropped a star because I felt this was more of a “bridge” story than Tegan’s – Yeah I could be a bit biased and quite possibly the idea that he had to share his story with the introduction of – oh wait I can’t tell you- No spoilers
Tegan is a magnificent package of strength, devotion, and sacrifice – He has already lost so much in his life and he never falters when it comes to caring for those he loves and coins “friends”
After losing his mate Ana he has closed his heart to the idea of ever loving another – though that devotion is about to be tested.
Sent on an assignment he is to watch and evaluate the dangers if any a new species poses to humanity. He can do this assignment, it is only for a little while and it is only “pretend”. Right?
Rhea is such an innocent, you can not help but love the girl. She is a complete mirror to Tegan and they compliment each other perfectly. She is assigned as Tegan’s partner for this “mission”. She is placed in a position that is quite questionable – Will she follow orders even if it goes against everything she believes or will she fall from grace?
As always a lot of action, all your favorite characters and some new ones as well
There are a lot of “OMG” and “No, this can’t happen” moments that will leave you at times cringing and other times completely unprepared for the fallout that follows
I read a complimentary copy of this book, it is book six in the series – I have read and own the rest of the series – and I can say with complete authority this is a must read series!
Omg, so many twists and turns, especially when I couldn’t wait for Tegan’s story. Can’t wait for the next book.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I have enjoyed this series a lot. This story had some surprises that I did not see coming. Tegan has been an interesting character, and I enjoyed this chance to give him a happier story. Rhea complemented him so well that I did not want to stop reading. With all the danger, plots, and secrets, it is great to see such friendships and love. I look forward to the continuation of this world.
I received a copy of this story as a gift, and this is my unsolicited review.
