I absolutely loved this first book in Griscom’s Immortal Hearts of San Francisco series. Our main characters are Magdalena who seems a bit naïve and a damsel in distress and Cian who’s our hero and not even reluctantly so. It’s a love at first sight but still has the reality of a slower building relationship which I appreciate. Great flowing storyline that will keep the reader / listener engaged and wonderful characters that you’ll fall in love with. The narration (I received the audio format) was great – I love a dual narration and while Julie Walters was good, John York stole the show (for me personally) loved the accent! While this is the first in the series – it can be read / listened as a stand alone – but after listening to this one – I am eager for more. Perfect balance of sweet, heat, danger and excitement can be found here. I loved it!
This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

What can I say, there’s isn’t anything I didn’t like about this book, it has great characters, the storyline flows well and easily keeps you hooked, Mags is in for a few surprises as the story unfolds.
Both narrators I thought were great, they did an awesome job and I could happily listen to them for hours.
All in all this is a great start to the series.
Cian is a musician and a 200-year-old vampire who plays in the rock band called The Lost Boys. His fraternal twin, Lane also plays in it as well. Two other vamps older than them also play with them. They all live together as well. Lane and Cian were made and left to their own devices. They own the club they play in every weekend in San Francisco. Magdalena and her friend Vanessa just moved to San Francisco after Maggie’s two-year relationship ended with Kellan. She meets Cian when they go to the club and they are captivated with one another. On their second date they become intimate and he cannot do without her. They also learn some interesting things about Kellan and Vanessa. Then, Lane’s and Cian’s past comes to the present and Maggie is in danger and is kidnapped…now what will happen? Who will get Maggie…if anyone? Will this end in happy bliss or heartache? Stay tuned…
I enjoyed reading this story. Vampire romance is one of my favorite paranormal and this one is well written. The good and bad side of being a vampire is well balanced, it’s also unpredictable and has a bit of danger and action. I like all the characters, especially Cian, he is so romantic, I’ve always loved the soulmate concept. Addictive.
TEMPTED BY A VAMPIRE is the first book in the Immortal Hearts of San Francisco series. They will need to be read in the order of release.
Oh! Em! Gee! Blown away!! I am in love with this series already. How soon does the next book release?
A little bit about me – I am a white-knuckle driver and this is why I listen to books. They keep me sane and provide safety for me and the other drivers. Not only did this book provide those services, I was smiling for the entire six hours and 26 minutes! I loved the story, the drama, the romance, and the choice of narrators.
The chemistry between Cian and Magdalena is steaming through every syllable of this reading. Their friends and their enemies are beautifully written and represented and I can’t wait to find out more about each of them. The dramas and twists are well thought out and kept me entertained from beginning to end.
On Facebook, many authors mention they listen to playlists as they write. I swear I could hear the songs playing while this book was being written and they were all classic and wonderful rock songs of San Francisco. Yes, I loved this too. (Days later, I’m still humming “when the lights go down in the city,…)
Narration: John York and Julie Walters are both wonderful narrators with clear voices and they give great drama. The topper is John York’s accent. Let’s face it, American girls are suckers for a British accent (or Aussie, or French, or…). I look forward to hearing from either one of these narrators again.
Note: While I received this book as a gifted audiobook copy, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

I love this series and am going to have to get the rest. I love vampire stories and this one is awesome. They have it all some suspense and hot, steamy love scenes. Keep these great books coming Susan.
My review is for the revised edition…
I found myself screaming often in this book there are a lot of OMG I didn’t see that coming moments.
Maggie and her best friend have moved to San Fransico and she is starting over after her ex-boyfriend cheated again but for the very last time as far as she is concerned.
One night while out with Vanessa she meets a very handsome guy and not just a guy nope he is the lead singer in a band or is he???
This story gives us a bit of everything you enjoy in a pnr book. We get vamps, werewolves, a witch even. And suspense and a bit of action and top it with oh so hot romance. Very good reading.
I loved it. Susan knows how to write a vampire book.
Wow I know its not the best word, but I am blown away by this book. I don’t know why Susan didn’t write this book sooner. I am so obsessed with Cian and Mags. The perfect combination of a sexy, dark brooding rocker and the sweet lovable girl, throw in the fact that the rocker is also a Vampire and you have the formula for a perfect book. This did not disappoint! I devoured this book and I am craving more!!!! There are many points in the story where the emotional damn might break. Even though they are vampires they have very real feelings. These feelings were contagious. I smiled with them. I choked up with them. I became angry and wanted to break through my kindle. Then there are the steamy melt your panties scenes. Oh my Cian is now my new book boyfriend!!! I am laying claim to this one ladies! I can’t wait to read more about these characters.
*WARNING* contains adult situations and content
I liked characters in this one, but I thought the story itself was predictable.

Magdalena “Maggie” De la Rosa and her best friend, Vanessa, move to San Francisco after college to pursue their dream jobs. On their first night in their new home city they go to club to hear a live band and Maggie meets lead singer Cian DeMarco. Instalove spills all over the place. But will she still love him when she finds out he’s a vampire?
I wanted to love this story, but I just couldn’t. The concept is pretty good, but the execution lacks finesse. It’s a bit two dimensional and the instalove is a huge turn off. There are convenient plot twists and the action scenes lack excitement. Maggie is a spineless idiot and Cian is an asshole. He finds a woman who attracts him then he compels her so he can fuck and feed. It’s a huge turn off. I do not care that he brings her many orgasms. It’s still a drugged rape. I am not ok with this. When Maggie finds out he’s a vampire and can compel people, she asks him if he compelled her and he lies when he says no. He used his whammy on her the first night they met, so HE could get what he wanted. And at the end? He doesn’t give a shit about what Maggie wants. It’s all about HIM. Wah, wah, wah. So, while I totally wanted to love this, I ended up at the opposite end of the spectrum and hated it. And that makes me sad. This review was hard for me to write because the author is the sweetest person EVER.
“Vampires are real you know”… Just when you think you have it all under control, fate steps in and throws a wrench into everything you thought you knew. This is what happens when Magdalena plays it safe. But this is where the story begins. Her friend gets her to let loose and when she does she meets Cian (Kee-yan). He’s a hot singer in a band that plays at the local bar. Cian is a vampire and has lived for many years. He has found a comfortable existance that makes him feel just a little less of a monster. He sees Magdalena and fireworks explode. They are both drawn to each other. Eventually Cian entrusts Magdalena with his secret but then things go from good to complicated in 2.4 seconds. All of a sudden she is faced with many things paranormal and everthing that she has ever known comes crashing down. Fate knows how to mess with people and definately knows how to shake things up!
“This kiss held all the allure I wanted her to feel, along with the promise of what could be if she only allowed herself the pleasure.”
“My beautiful Magdalena, A rose for a rose, if you will pardon the cliché. But there is no other than the delicate petals of a rose that could ever compare to your rare beauty. Like the red rose in this bouquet, surrounded by all the white flowers, your beauty stands out, while all others pale in your presence.”
““If I didn’t know better, I’d almost believe you guys had real live beating hearts,” Vanessa said. “You’re certainly not like any other vampires in the city. Hmmm… immortal hearts of San Francisco. That’s sort of catchy.””
Paranormal romance with all the right twists and turns. Love Tempted By a Vampire!
