Seductively intriguing! With the second book in her Murphy International series Joss Wood takes us on a sweet journey with Ronan’s story in TEMPTATION AT HIS DOOR. This book is not only sensually pleasing, but it also showcases overcoming grief and accepting a new journey. Really loved their story!
Ronan Murphy is such a good guy. A reader instantly has a soft spot in their heart for him when we learn he lost his wife and is raising their two young sons on his own. Once we see the connection he has with Joa and how it affects him, he’s only more endearing.
Joa Jones is easy to like as well and we find ourselves rooting for her to get that happily ever after she obviously well deserves at this point in her life.
I highly recommend this book and the series as a whole to anyone who enjoys a fast paced read filled with a close-knit group of siblings and friends finding their forevers one character at a time.
I loved this book about the attraction between two people. They both try to fight it, but the feelings are too strong to be ignored. I love the passion in the books of Ms Wood! I want to read all parts of the series now, sigh…I have to wait until June.
This is what it’s all about: Wealthy art auctioneer Ronan Murphy needs a nanny for his two little boys now. Gorgeous au pair Joa Jones would be perfect, but there’s a catch. He and Joa also have impossible-to-ignore chemistry. One night exploring that chemistry can’t hurt…right? Wrong. One night with Joa only leaves Ronan craving more. But more is the one thing he can’t have
The storyline was well written and the characters were so well defined that I remained totally engrossed in this story as I turned every page until the very end!
Ronan and Joa are two people with an emotional past they have to deal with before they can move on. I enjoyed seeing their story come together. It is well written with a very good storyline. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Joa has spend years as a nanny and sometimes falling for the wrong men but she is determined to change that and set her sites on something different for her life. When widow Ronan needs a nanny for his two boys Joa is volunteered by her friend Keely. She is not happy about it but she sure is attracted to Ronan even though he is still married to his dead wife in his heart. She loves his children and is beginning to fall for him and ends up sleeping with him which makes her realize that she is back where she never wanted to be. She quits her job and decides to move away just about the time that Ronan knows he loves her and must move on with his life but will he be too late.
Insta-attraction that is too hard to fight
I enjoy series where you continue to meet the prior characters in each subsequent book, and the Murphy International series does not disappoint! I love the insta-attraction that Ronan and Joa fight until their willpower loses. Ronan is in desparate need of a nanny when Joa’s sister, Keely offers up her services. Joa refuses to fall back into the same old job as she needs to find a new direction in her life. When circumstances foil Joa’s living arrangements, Ronan is only too happy to offer up his place for some help with his boys. What follows in some steamy interactions and missteps that will have you turning the pages wanting to know how it will all end! Can’t wait for Finn’s story to be published.
I have gone and fallen in love with the whole Murphy clan. We’d been teased in the previous book with the setup for this pair, so before I even opened this book, I already knew I wanted to read it. Ronan provides us with some valuable lessons for learning to let go and being open to new love after the loss of a spouse. Joa shows us how protecting ourselves from hurt can sometimes prevent us from living our best lives. Together, these two have chemistry that nearly shorted out my reader and I was quickly invested in seeing them find their way to happily ever after. Now I’m already looking forward to the next pair the author has in her sights.

I have been waiting for this book as I was so intrigued by Ronan and Joa after meeting them briefly in One Little Indiscretion. It has been a hard last few years for Ronan after his wife Thandi, trying to raise his two young sons, as well as work and try and lately get a nanny who he actually trust. Joa is back home after years of being an au pair with her last job being in New Zealand (great country if I do say so myself 😉 ) and has decided she needs a change of direction in life , however what that is she doesn’t know. Ronan and Joa are attracted to each other from when they first meet however they are both at cross roads in their lives and have self doubt about moving on to something new. This is a great read about finding yourself and what you really want in life along with learning that happiness may be full of ups and downs but if you really want it you can make it work and have a happy ever after!

Joa and Ronan are intense, and in a good way . They both have scars from their pasts that they are hiding behind and it’s keeping them from moving forward and enjoying life.
Watching them work through their angst and drama was worth all of my time. The supporting cast is back and they prop up the story very well and I’m thoroughly looking forward to the remaining stories in this series.
Book # 2 about the Murphy Family.
Ronan Murphy is wealthy art auctioneer at Murphy House is a widow of 2 little boys and the middle brother of three.
Ronan is having a hard time coming terms with the death of his wife who has been dead for two years. He is also dealing with trying to find a nanny for his two sons. Every nanny that he chooses is more interested in him than his boys even though he makes clear that he is not the market for any romance because he is still much in love and faithful to his dead wife.
Joa Jones is well educated with a degree in psychology didn’t really understand why she would take jobs being an pair. So after leaving her au pair job in New Zealand she decides to return home to Boston for a new start and figure out what’s next in store for her. Joa longs to be apart of a loving family. Joa is the foster sister of Keely. Keely’s aunt Izzy brought Joa into her home after being informed that Joe is a product of the foster care system and she’s a teenage runaway and is taken in by Iz Keely’s aunt who is very wealthy. After Izzy’s death Joa and Keely inherit her estate and they are selling off Izzy’s art with the help of The Murphy House where Joa meets Ronan and it’s love at first sight.
Joa is the first woman that Ronan has been attracted to since the death of his wife who adores his little boys. Ronan is in serious need of a nanny for his boy and Keely suggests Joa who doesn’t want to be an au pair anymore she wants to do other things. After several attempts she decides she will be a nanny to the boys who adore her but only on a short term base and in the mean time will conduct interviews for nannies for Ronan.
This is a must read. Will Ronan and Joa find their happy ever after or will Ronan continue to bask in the memories of his deceased wife.
