After the death of my boyfriend, my whole world is tossed upside down. I lose not only him but my home and, suddenly, nothing is the same. Then I meet him. Siva. My savior. He’s dark and brooding, the complete opposite of everything I’ve ever known. Somehow, though, I’m able to see the light in him that no one else can. He tempts me ever closer, my heart reaching out to him, even while my mind … shouts out me to stay away. That it’s too soon. That it’s wrong. But when temptation becomes too strong, who am I too resist?

Oh I loved this book! I hated all the characters went thru, but it made the ending sweeter. Siva was definitely a character that you wanted to love. I found Sloane so strong. Their emotions were so moving. This was a great read!
4 Tempting Stars!!!
I’ve been a huge Micalea Smeltzer fan since the day I first read her book! Like her other books I read this one pretty quick.
Sloane has been dating Dev Kapur for the last few years. They live together and are planning on getting married. Dev’s sister passed away, he hasn’t seen or spoken of his brother in years, his mom left and his father hates her. If that wasn’t bad enough. Dev died in a car accident.
Dev’s father wasn’t afraid to let Sloane know that she wasn’t welcome at his sons funeral. When Dev dad leaves her alone in walks a beautiful stranger. Siva….. Dev’s older brother.
Shortly after the funeral Dev’s father shows up and kicks her out of the apartment she lived in with Dev. Sloane has days to move out and she can’t find a new place to live. Sloane gets another knock on her door and she opens it to find Siva. He knows all about his dad kicking her out. Siva let’s Sloane know he’s moving her into his place until she finds a place.
Sloane knows this is probably a bad idea but with less then two days to find a place to live she goes with Siva.
One minute Siva is demanding and controlling and the next he’s nice, kinda sweet and yet he’s always hot. Siva was also very protective of Sloane. He was a great protector.
Sloane didn’t do much for me. She seemed to go along with whatever anybody told her to do.
This was an easy read. The main thing I hated was Siva spoke bad about Dev. Always made Dev seem like he was a bad guy. Made it sound like he was into shady stuff. But, nothing was ever said. No confirmation to what he was insinuating. Other then that I liked this story.
I was so surprised by this book and how much it captured my attention. I loved many aspects of the story, like how the setting is in London but the characters are from the US and India. How dark is Siva and how light is Sloane. And their coloring also reflects their character. The story flow feels like a writer who is still developing her craft, so there are little holes in the plot and the beginning of the story felt like reading a diary. It was like the retelling of everyday in the life of Sloane, including what she wore, what she ate, how she slept, etc. Once the action got going, the writing got tighter and the reading flowed much better. I got engrossed and involved in Siva’s and Sloane’s love story and found it fascinating.
In summary, Sloane was living with Dev Kapur and they were planning to marry. Suddenly one day, Dev dies in an accident and his father, who owns the flat they lived in, throws her out without any consideration. Rajas Kapur is the one we love to hate in this story. Siva, who is Dev’s older brother, has been estranged from his family for the past ten years, and appears suddenly to Dev’s funeral. When he learns about his father’s plans, he rescues Sloane and takes her to live in his flat until she can solve her situation.
Siva is moody and has very severe character swings. I really thought he suffered from bipolar syndrome with the way he changed behavior from a gentleman to a gremlin. Even so, Sloane was captivated by him and felt a chemistry like she never had with Dev.
Their attraction evolves slowly, with some work and family related drama that cause chaos and despair. Some parts in the dramatic scenes didn’t ring very real to me but were actually necessary to the story. I didn’t feel like I got a clear explanation for Rajas and Siva’s behavior apart from the event that caused their estrangement. I think this plotline needed some more work. Even so, the story is captivating and I enjoyed it very much and I loved Siva and Sloane and Sloane’s mum. From what I’ve seen in this book, this author is going to be awesome once she has perfected her craft.
WOW!!!! What an amazing 5 star story this was. I was addicted from the very first page read to the last one.
Sloane is going through a lot right now. Losing the love of her life and having to find a new place to live. She never meet Siva, her deceased boyfriends brother. He comes storming into her life with is broody attitude.
I loved this story very much. It had an hint of forbidden in there which makes this story so much more appealing. It was captivating and addicting. A very romantic story that had chemistry between Siva and Sloane. Bottomline this is a must read.
Standalone told in a dual POV with an HEA. I strongly recommend this story.
5+++ Stars
