From New York Times bestselling author Lauren Royal comes the first novel in her beloved Regency series featuring the “outrageously funny, loyal, compassionate, and unconventional” Chase family.
The eldest of three sisters, Lady Alexandra Chase has always done what was expected of her. But when the man she’s loved since her girlhood returns from a long spell abroad, she quite suddenly finds … suddenly finds herself hoping the fine lord her brother has picked for her won’t propose. She decides that if he does, she’ll quite improperly turn him down—that is, until the man of her hopes and dreams informs her he has no intention of marrying her.
The last time Tristan Nesbitt saw Alexandra, he was a common man with no hope of ever wedding the daughter of a marquess. Seven years later, he’s now Lord Hawkridge, which should make him eminently suitable for the woman who long ago captured his heart. But a dreadful scandal has tarnished his name in England—a scandal so horrid that marrying Alexandra would ruin not only her flawless reputation but her whole family. For Alexandra’s own good, he must fight his relentless desires and stay far away…

Alexandria & Tristan’s Journey was Absolutely Wonderful.
Tristan’s sleep walking was an interesting characteristic was Great.
I Love how Alexandria knew without a doubt that Tristan was not Guilty of murder.
Lauren Royal created Spectacular Characters in “The Chase Family Series.
It’s a Wonderful Book with …
I love reading books by Lauren Royal and the Chase Family! I so enjoyed the period this takes place in, as well as the scenarios that our heroine and her hero are surrounded in. I never knew how much a sleep walker could cause trouble, especially in a time period where being caught in a “compromised” situation would mean certain proposals and …
Lost in Temptation by Lauren Royal is the first book in the Regency Chase Family series. Based in England 1815’s.
Lady Alexandra Chase has always been the proper one who does exactly as expected of her. When her childhood love returns, she turns down a fine Lords proposal, in hopes that the man she hasn’t been able to forget will want …
Slow at beginning. Mid & end a page turner. Murder, mystery, romance. Great characters.
Another great book by Lauren Royal. 🙂
I love Regency. I love big, dramatic families. I love desserts. This has it all with a dash of mystery thrown in for a flourish! I can’t wait to read more about this family as they all tumble into matrimony!
I loved this book. Very well done.
Started off slow, but became very fast-paced from the middle to the end.
I love these characters! This family is highly addictive, but you had me at the cute recipes.
Good read.
One of the best author’s in historical romances. Excellent research, highly recommended!
This is one of the books I read many years ago and as I reread it I knew it was worth the time. I often forget every incident in a book but on rereading I get myself in the story and the background.
I loved your characters and the times you are writing about. This was a very enjoyable read.
The premise has a couple of good twists that get in the way of it just being a sappy romance; there is more depth than that. Not as gritty as a mystery, although there is a mystery to be solved. The characters are very likeable, and many of the side characters are developed well, instead of just being named. I’d read it again.
I liked the strength of the female character & her perseverance. Enjoyable read
Touching. Excellent read!
Loved this book. Great characters. Page turner. Didn’t want to put it down.
I really liked this book. The respect her brother has for her choices and the family support are wonderful. It’s part of the reason the man returning is so honor bound he tries to avoid the match.
I really enjoyed reading about the daily activities of the Lords and Ladies that are usually missing from other stories, not to mention the enticing recipes and the factual clarifications section at the end. All in all, well worth the read!
