Love is a weakness for a man like me… when I saw she feared me as much as she wanted me.
I wanted the beauty, a woman nearly half my age.
I wanted to own her and possess her.
Then I wanted more.
More than her obedience and submission.
I wanted her body, heart, mind and soul.
I never knew I was signing my death warrant when our paths collided.
I never knew who she truly was: A Bratva princess who’s supposed to be a ghost.
Her dark secrets unearth old enemies who want her dead.
I’m Vincent Giordano, underboss to the Giordano family .
I should know better than to start a war.
I should know better than to let love into my cold heart.
This isn’t a fairytale.
When she kisses me I won’t turn into a prince.
I’ll still be the beast.
Yet, I can’t let them take her.
I just don’t know what it will cost me this time.

Vincent, the soon to be head of the familia, is still dealing with the Sudan death of his wife. He is trying but is not the nan he once was.
Ava is trying to help her father, who is an addict, get clean. When she finds he is in trouble with the mob , she offers herself as payment.
Vincent and Ava were not my favorite couple. I just couldn’t connect with either if them. My heart went out to Vincent and his young son, but it surprised me that when his son and Ava, his new love, were in danger he chose her life over Timothy’s. I understood his rationale but found it difficult to believe he wouldn’t have gone after his son.
This book has secrets, drama and action.
This is book 4 and it is the first one I have read in this series, I do think I would have enjoyed the book more had I read the previous books and seen some of the relationship between Vincent and his wife Sorcha. This book is predominantly about Ava and Vincent, how they meet and how their relationship develops over time. Needless to say, as it’s mafia related there is plenty of action, mystery, intrigue and suspense.

Mob Boss and Widower Vincent is given a proposition by Ava (FMC) at the start of this book thats too good to be true. Ava is put in a corner when she tries to protect her father and she believes her only choice she has is to offer Vincent herself in exchange for clearing her fathers debts. Which as you can imagine plenty of steamy scenarios (which there are) including some very hot ones too at the sex club The Dark Odyssey. Except things get complicated when Ava’s past catches up with her and brings violence to Vincent’s door. Yes some parts were hard to read but the relationship between Ava and Vincent which starts off in an unorthodox way ends up being a caring one in the end. I thought this book was a damn good read
This is another roller coaster ride in the life of the Giordano brothers and this time we get Vincent’s book
His life at the moment is totally crazy with the retirement of his father to Sicily he is not only stepping up to become the new boss but is also handling life as a single father after the murder of his wife He also has a accountant who has embezzled from the family whose daughter Ava he is using sexually an offer he took up so that he didn’t have her father killed He is also handling overtures from the Bratva With this all on his play is he really ready for Ava what is the connection to her and the Bratva and why is the only time they can connect at the Dark Odyssey Club . Is there a future for them You will have to read to see
This fourth book about the four Giordano brothers tells the story of Vincent, the eldest living brother, and focuses mainly on the four or five weeks that start with his father announcing his retirement and return to Sicily with his mother. This means Vincent will begin the transition to Boss immediately. He has just hunted down his rogue accountant with a drug problem who has stolen more than two million dollars from Vincent’s accounts but let his daughter Ava beg for mercy and offer herself in exchange for not killing her father. One of the first decisions thrust upon him is whether to make an alliance the Bratva has offered that his father feels is an excellent arrangement but Vincent tells Demetri it will be four weeks before he gives a definite answer. So Vincent has his hands full, still grieving his murdered wife, caring for his baby, trying to corral the explosive Ava for his sexual satisfaction, while trying to straighten out his messed up books, and finding evidence to take to his father to prove why they shouldn’t do business with the Bratva. The way the author reveals Ava and Vincent’s characters while telling of the relationship between the two will have you on the edge of your seat and regularly in tears. Why won’t Ava eat? Why do trips to the Dark Odyssey sex club turn out so well when they should debilitate Ava? She was a ballerina from Russia? Could she and her father have connections to the Bratva? This series is not for the faint of heart with hangings, bombs, rough-riding cyclists, and a shootout to save Ava and Vincent’s son! I’m hoping there’ll be stories on the cousins next.
This dark story was well written and the characters were so well developed that Ava and Vincent kept me totally invested in their story until the turn of the very last page!
Wow! I really loved this book. Vincent and Ava were both strong complex characters that had pasts that haunted them. These two made a fantastic couple and were perfect for eachother. They had amazing chemistry and an undeniable attraction. The story was well-developed with great characters and a storyline that had plenty of drama, suspense, action, danger, twists, emotional turmoil, secrets, passion/lust, steam and love. Can’t wait for Christian and Lilly’s story.

Hijacked, hooked and hypnotized on high alert
Tempt Me: A Dark Billionaire Mafia Romance (Dark Odyssey Book 4) by Faith Summers is a very well written dark mafia, billionaire romance. This book hijacked my attention, hooked me with the suspense, dark romance and the characters while hypnotizing me with the plot and a thick, dark, sensual fog created by Vincent and Ava.
As I felt an urgency from beginning to end, this page turner also kept me on high alert. Vincent experiences all manner of emotions as does Ava. I just love how this author takes bits and pieces of a character’s back story and feeds the reader one little morsel at a time, keeping us on the hook to the very intriguing and enthralling end. At times pulse pounding, and often highly emotional, I had several moments of feeling anxious; waiting for the other shoe to drop, the axe to fall, the snake to strike. There’s all that and more.
Overall, this mafia dark romance is off the charts hot with plenty of intrigue, mafia-style justice and fantastic characters that made this book an amazing read with an equally amazing HEA. What a roller coaster!
I read an ARC of this book and voluntarily share my review.
Vincent and Ava’s story is hot and steamy not to mention action packed! Vincent was grieving the death of his wife and child which left him an embittered man driven to revenge. Ava is the Bratva princess that was caught in the crosshairs. What started off as revenge turned into one of passion and a love he never expected to have again but Ava comes with her own secrets, secrets that could bring all, out war. Can Vincent live with the consequences of what loving Ava would mean to his and his son’s life? I voluntarily agreed to receive an ARC of this book for an honest review.
This was a tough call for me. I felt that this book had the potential to be my favorite book out of this series but, for me personally things went off the rails. To start I really liked Vincent and Ava. Their baggage from their pasts and what was happening in the present made for a very emotional, tension filled and dramatic story. I enjoyed their chemistry and the heat they generated. Plus, as a forbidden romance fan the age gap really worked for me. So, yeah there is so much that for me was right about this book. However, I found some plot points annoying and some actions taken just really rubbed me the wrong way. Still, I thought that this was a good read.
Faith Summers is the queen of steamy scenes and heart pounding situations. Hands down an outstanding read!
