A brand new, standalone spin-off from The Billionaire’s Obsession series, and the first novella in the Left At The Altar series!!! You met Lia and Zeke in Billionaire Unloved, Jett and Ruby’s book. Now you can find out what happened to them. Did Lia really marry the wrong guy? Lia: I thought I had my life all worked out. My wedding had been meticulously planned. All I had to do was walk down the … was walk down the aisle and get married to the man I’d been engaged to for over a year.
Pretty easy and uncomplicated, right?
Unfortunately, all of my well laid plans go up in smoke when my fiance leaves me at the church alone because he found a woman who was better suited for his snobby world of wealth and privilege.
Problem is, I really have to get married. All of my hopes and dreams are dependent on me tying the knot by my twenty-eighth birthday, and the date is closing in fast.
As usual, my best friend Zeke Conner is there to pick up the pieces when I get jilted by a jerk. He helps me work through the demoralizing event so I can put it behind me and move on. But when he offers to marry me himself, I’m stunned. But it’s a bargain I can’t really refuse.
As my relationship changes with my best friend, I find myself caught in a web of sensual desire and unending passion that’s as terrifying as it is satisfying. Probably because it seems all too real.
But our arrangement was supposed to be temporary. A deal between friends so that we’d both benefit. What will happen when it all ends?

JS Scott is an easy one click for me. I’ve been anticipating Zeke and Lia’s story and Scott definitely didn’t disappoint. Her alpha heroes never fail to make me swoon. Lia faces struggles every woman does and Zeke understands where she has been as well as what she needs. Theirs is not an easy romance, but I loved the story even more because of it. Zeke is so yummy protective. I also enjoyed a little peek into her past characters. They’re like friends to me now and I love seeing them pop up now and then. This is a novella I highly recommend.
Another fantastic read from Bestselling Author, J.S. Scott. Quick, romantic, with a solid storyline and loveable characters. Totally recommend this book.
“Temporary Groom” (Left At The Altar #1) by J.S. Scott is a great read. I loved Lia and Zeke’s story. This is a great start to this new spin-off series, packed with romance, passion, twists and turns, entertaining characters, happy endings, and more. I hope we get to read more about Lia and Zeke in the future. Highly recommend to all fans of romance, happy endings, friends to lovers, and series.
Love and friendship collide amidst a comedy of errors. Zeke and Lia have a history. Will they let that shared history ruin their chance at a future as so much more? Temporary Groom takes a look into the eyes of love and walked away with this romantic’s heart. From top to bottom Scott can do no less than perfect.
Zeke and Lia have been friends a long time, and without the other knowing both have harbored more than “friend-like” feelings for one another, but acting on those feelings has never really been an option… until now. When Lia’s fiance leaves her at the alter Zeke is the one who swoops in and saves her from complete humiliation, but days later she realizes she still needs a husband in order to claim her inheritance and make her dream a reality. If only she had a man in her life to help make that dream a reality…
Temporary Groom is a sweet and sultry little novella that is sure to have romance readers swooning from start to finish, the moment Zeke wanders onto the page you will feel your heart slipping away, and your knees weaken! This was such a pleasurable read, the story line was engaging and held my interest throughout, the characters were well crafted and easy to identify with… simply said there is no way you can walk away from this one without getting a serious case of the feels! If you are looking for a sexy and heartfelt tale to curl up with tonight, I highly suggest you make it this one, it will make for a delightful bedtime story!!
I requested an advanced copy of this title and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.
Lia on her 21st birthday told Zeke her best friend she loved him. Sadly is was when she was drunk. Zeke would have jumped at this chance but she wanted her sober when he took their friendship to the next level. The next day Lia was so embarrassed she never mentioned it again having been rejected by Zeke. Now Lia is getting married and Zeke is finally ready to get his girl if he isn’t too late. Seeking Lia out he finds her crying after Stuart broke things off. Now is Zeke’s chance to finally get his girl. Lia is so insecure can she finally believe Zeke finds her desirable and truly wants to not only marry her but to have a life with her. These two were destined to be together.
I loved this book. Zeke’s jealousy over Lia’s engagement was the perfect setup to him stepping in and saving the day! JS Scott writes the best alpha males out there, strong but sweet.
Temporary Groom is the first book that I have read by this author and it is the first book in the Left at the Alter Series that is being written by 6 different authors.
Book 1 – TEMPORARY GROOM by J.S. Scott
Book 2 – ALMOST A WEDDING by Ruth Cardello
Book 3 – HUSBAND MATERIAL by Raine Miller
Book 4 – WICKED WEDDING by Sawyer Bennett
Book 5 – BAD BLOOD by M. Malone
Book 6 – SECOND CHANCES by Melody Anne
These books are all Standalone Novella’s but, can be a spin-off from the authors own series. Temporary Groom is a spin-off from The Billionaire’s Obsession Series (which I have not read any of this series).
Temporary Groom is Zeke and Lia’s story and is a friend to lover’s romance. Zeke is such a nice guy. Is that good or do we want a bad boy? Zeke has obviously loved Lia for a long time. He came to her rescue when she was just 14 and he was 18. When a kid was bullying her.
This is a short, sexy, feel/good book and has a HEA! A lot of times Novella’s are so short that you don’t get the whole story and I didn’t get that from this book. I very much enjoyed reading Temporary Groom and look forward to reading more of J. S. Scott’s books in the future.
I loved this steamy romantic book with a HEA. What I love about JS Scott as an author is her stories are so original. I love romance in a lot of different subgenera of varying heat levels, and this one doesn’t disappoint. A must read!
fast turning page book, it was ok.
amazing
Temporary Groom by J.S. Scott was another great read by the author. This is not only a spin-off of The Billionaire’s Obsession series but the first book in the Left at the Altar series. I absolutely fell in love with Lia and Zeke. They are best friends that become lovers after Lia needs to find a husband to get her inheritance. I absolutely loved reading this book.
I loved this novella way to much, I could not put it down! But what can I say I love J.S Scott’s work. Loved how close Zeke and Lia were. I was starting to wonder if they was ever going to admit their feelings for each other. Zeke melted my heart more then once, the way he knew Lia was just WOW. I am so in love with this series already I cannot wait to read more from J.S Scott. This is a must read!
Zeke and Lia have been best friends forever. Both have deeper than ‘friends’ feelings for each other and both are leery of crossing that line to change the dynamics of their friendship.
When Lia is left at the alter Zeke takes care of her. The only problem is, is that Lia has to marry to get her inheritance and time is running out. Zeke comes up with the plan that they marry. The only thing is he doesn’t plan on it being temporary. Lia goes into the marriage thinking it only temporary and feels quilty that Zeke is giving up so much to help her.
What I loved the best about Zeke is that he didn’t push at all. He was supportive of Lia in every way possible and allowed her to find herself again. She lost herself by being an image of who her ex wanted her to be.
I think the best friends to lovers is the best type of relationship to have. It’s deeper, more meaningful.
Who knew that being left at the alter was the very best thing that could happen…
An amazing, wonderful read!
Ok everytime I read this titles I start singing temporary home by Carrie Underwood. I can’t help it.
Ok now to my actual review. I loved this story. We all have had in our past that one friend who we would have liked to tone further with and this story is the the answer to all those what ifs. Yes I do believe men and woman can be best friends without wanting each other but I also know there’s always that one. I loved that the characters where not just two dimensional but had personalities of their own that came of the page. I adored this book and can’t wiat to read more.
When you think about best friends you don’t think about a guy and a girl, but in this case Lia and Zeke are trully best friends and they know each other that words are sometimes unnecessary. Since the first time Zeke saw Lia he has had an unexplicable attraction to her, a need to protect her and keep her from harm. That attraction has evolved into great passion and love. On Lia’s 21st birthday she decides to let Zeke know how she feels, but a misundestaning will cause them to stay apart, looking for love in other people. Lia is not the defenseless girl he once saved, but the woman that is about to make the worse mistake of her life, marry the wrong man. When Zeke realizes that he can’t witness Lia saying I do to anyone else, but him, he decides to stop this wedding only to find that the wedding has been canceled already. Fate is workig in his favor and without realizing it both are going to get what they always have wanted, more than they know.
A bad thing can truly lead to something great and wonderful. Been left at the altar is the best thing that could ever happen to Lia. Temporary groom is a funny, romantic, passionate, page turner story that will leave you wanting more of Lia and Zeke.
Going To The Chapel and We’re Gonna Get Married
Lia is going to be a blushing bride but she just wasn’t expecting to the plunge with her best friend! Lia has come to learn the hard way that the best laid plans never seem to work out. Plans galore and a future in place didn’t stop her fiance from leaving her in a soap worthy fashion for a woman more his taste. Dejected and in need of husband before her 28th birthday she’s left scrambling. When Zeke offers himself as a stand in she I am stunned but ever go grateful. The lines of real and fake, truth and lie, pretend and true are tested tenfold as they navigate this deal.
I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book.
From best friends to lovers to marriage should be a no brainer but it takes 14 years for Zeke and Lia to make the journey. Life kept getting in the way. Finally, when Lia is ready to walk down the aisle to another man, Zeke realizes he can’t let that happen. Being left at the altar is the best thing that ever happened to Lia. Now she’s married to her hero, lover and her best friend. What more could a girl want? Zeke feels the same way. Lia has been the woman of his dreams for so long and to think he almost lost her to another man. Two best friends in love and married….priceless.

Wowzers! Show of hands, who loves best friends to romance? Steamy sexy times? Unconditional love? If you answered yes to any or all, read this book immediately!!
Temporary Groom by USA Today Bestselling Author, J.S. Scott, is a hit! This is a short read at only ninety eight pages! You can knock it out in an hour!
Lia and Zeke have been best friends for years. When it comes time for Lia to marry her fiancée, Zeke admits to himself he is in love with her. After finding Lia in tears he finds out her fiancée has left her at the altar for another woman! Zeke kindly steps up and marries Lia so she can get her inheritance from her grandmother, but will they have a Happy Ever After?
The chemistry is astronomical! You can really tell Zeke is totally devoted to Lia and vice versa. The sex??? Wowzers!!
I absolutely love everything about this book! Lia did admit her feelings for Zeke years ago but she thought he did not return her feelings. They play this cat and mouse game a tiny bit once they are married but Zeke just plows through until he gets the girl.
This is my kind of book! I love the idea of a best friend stepping in to marry the other for any reason. Especially if they have secret feelings for each other. It just makes it that much better and the sexual tension you can cut with a knife. To me it builds their chemistry and when they actually admit their feelings, BOOM! Hot steamy sex!
Read this book. You will not be disappointed. I only wish it were longer.
I really loved this book. It’s a nice quick read that is a wonderful friends to lovers story. Lia and Zeke have been best friends for a long time and while they both have feeling for the other, neither has wanted to act on them fearing it will ruin their close friendship. When Lia finds herself a bride literally left at the altar, Zeke is the one who comes through for her. Then when she realizes her inheritance is in jeopardy unless she gets married, who else would she call for help other than Zeke. Can Zeke be happy just being her temporary groom?
This is a wonderfully written book with amazing characters making it a must read! I highly recommend it.
