From an award-winning author with more than one million books sold, a new series of four heartwarming historical romances about unexpected brides.Temporary Bride: Lena Stevens has lived through more than her share of troubles. After losing her mother and father when she was young, Lena learned that every kindness came with obligation. Now a widow with a small child, Lena has lost the one thing … has lost the one thing she had left: her house. She has no desire to be a burden on her neighbor, even if the man was foolish enough to promise her late husband to watch out for her. But when propriety demands a marriage, Lena makes Anker vow to annul it come spring.
Anker has longed for a wife–but not like this. A forced marriage. A pretend marriage. He will do what he must to protect Lena and Charlie throughout the winter. But as days stretch into months, his admiration for the spirited young woman begins to turn to something else. Something more…
Anker and Lena both had their reasons for wanting a temporary marriage. But when spring arrives, will they regret their vow to end the union?

Very sweet, uplifting read.
Interesting and good very well have happened in that time period.
Love it!
This was well written and interesting. I really enjoyed it.
A little slow moving and predictable for my taste.
I really enjoyed Temporary Bride! The characters were great–a woman who was left marked by all she had suffered through life events and a hardhearted care giver, matched with a man who had grown up in a Godly family filled with love. Lena has to learn to accept love as freely given with no payback demands–a good lesson for many in our modern, often-selfish time.
Really enjoyed it.
great character development. emotionally touching
So true to life, so Many women probably found themselves in this situation. Entertaining and unpredictable.
Very good
Very well written and takes hold of your interest on the first page to the last.
Another story about life on the range. Makes you glad things have changed so much.
Both main characters were very interesting. Lena had led a sad life of give and take and she thought she was was happy until her husband died and tragedy over takes her. Anker had promised her husband he would take care of her and the young son, but she did not want to be taken care of because then she would owe Anker more than she wanted to give. Good read.
Other than too much repetition, I liked it. Finally, a story featuring a “good, intelligent” man.
This book was good. It wasn’t my favorite, but I read a ton of historical fiction from this era. It is a quick read, and sometimes those are the best when a lot is going on!
I really liked the characters in this book. It is the first in a series of four and I had to read everyone of them! A good book to curl up with on a free afternoon.
Very wholesome sweet story. Enjoyed from start to finish. Loved the characters. More men need to be like Anker. She was very stubborn and that was a bit off putting. I am glad for the happy ending. Loved how the epilogue tied up loose ends. Good book.
Temporary Bride by Linda Ford is a historical western romance. This is a clean read, appropriate for any age. Ms. Ford has penned a well-written book. I love the characters, although there were times I wanted to give Lena a good shake. Lena’s husband was killed in an accident and when her house burned down her neighbor Anker offered to marry her. Their story is touching and heartwarming. There is plenty of drama, humor and action to keep a reader’s attention. This is a fairly short read, perfect for those with limited reading time. I enjoyed reading Temporary Bride. Temporary Bride is book 1 of the Dakota Brides Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
