Four bestselling full length novels.
Your all access backstage pass to the world’s most dysfunctional rock band.
Tempest rocking.
Tempest rolling.
Tempest raging out of control.
IRRESISTIBLE REFRAIN
Two years ago everything changed for the remaining members of the Seattle rock band Tempest.
Two years is a long time.
Too long to keep on remembering.
Not nearly long enough to forget.
In trouble … nearly long enough to forget.
In trouble with nowhere else to go songstress Lace Lowell seeks refuge with the band during their stop in New York City. It’s a risky move for her because they are both there, two impossibly good looking men whose lives are inseparably entwined with hers. One who bruised her heart and one who smashed it into pieces.
Warren “War” Jinkins, the mercurial lead singer of Tempest, has always had a thing for Lace. But then again so does his best friend and band mate.
Bryan “Bullet” Jackson, the sinfully handsome tat-sleeved lead guitarist, has a bad boy reputation befitting his nickname. For the past two years Bullet’s had a rule with the groupies: one time, never twice, leave ‘em satisfied, but always leave ‘em.
Two guys, one woman, and a host of dark secrets all together within the tight confines of a tour bus as the group travels cross country.
Can the past be forgotten and buried?
Will friendships prevail?
Or will the three of them succumb to seductive impulses too addictive to resist?
ENTICING INTERLUDE
To the talented vocalist Justin Jones, love is merely a game that he plays by his own rules.
But to Bridget Dubois, love and heartache are one and the same.
Broken too many times before, the delicate beauty keeps her emotions carefully concealed. Bridget has her own set of rigid rules when it comes to men. She prefers to avoid them altogether, especially dangerously seductive auburn haired emerald eyed players like Justin.
But the new lead singer of the rising rock band Tempest doesn’t like to be ignored. Justin is used to getting what he wants, and now he’s set his sights on Bridget.
Suddenly, it’s no longer a game.
What do you do when the one you can’t have turns out to be the one you can’t live without?
As the pressure builds, will it temper them or will it shatter them both like fragile crystal?
CAPTIVATING BRIDGE
Warren “War” Jinkins is that guy.
The bad one.
Tempest’s ex front man, an arrogant rock god.
The only thing larger than his ego is his capacity for self-destruction.
His bad attitude has cost him. His woman. His best friend. His band. Everything.
Shaina Bentley is that girl.
The good one.
Hollywood’s pink candy-coated sweetheart.
The star of Pinky Swear, television’s top rated teen show.
She’s been practically perfect since that horrible day. But she’s starting to crack under the strain of being everything to everyone.
He’s a one man island. She’s a fragile captive soul.
Is love a current too dangerous to cross or will it be the bridge that brings them together?
RELENTLESS RHYTHM
The one she really wants is out of reach.
The one he really needs is already taken.
Dizzy Lowell, rhythm man for the rising rock band Tempest is a wizard on the guitar and a wonder with women. But the hookup specialist hides his emotional scars beneath his suave exterior. He never lets anyone truly touch him.
April Reynolds, the confident bartender of the Diamond Mine, knows her way around a cocktail, but Dizzy has her all mixed up. She knows what’s safe. She’s tired of settling, though. It would be so easy to fall under his spell.
Except for that ring around her finger.
Two searching souls separated by a thin metal band.
Some dreams are dangerous.
Some secrets shouldn’t be shared.
Sometimes what we wish for most can never be.
more
I am writing a new review because Michelle has written a prequel to the series call Southside High, a must read to truly understand the relationship between War, Bryan and Lace. You will also learn more of the bonds of loyalty that tie all the members of the band and their chosen friends together. If you have read the books before, you should note their is now 2 new amazing epilogues to Irresistible Refrain. You will also see all the characters in a new light and want to re-read all their stories.
Tempest Raging: The Tempest Rock Star Series, Books One through Four was a great read by Michelle Mankin. This box set consists of; Irresistible Refrain, Enticing Interlude, Captivating Bridge, and Relentless Rhythm. These books give a backstage pass to the very dysfunctional rockband, Tempest. I really enjoyed reading all of these rockers stories and can’t wait to read more by Michelle Mankin.
Irresistible Refrain
Holy WOW! Michelle Mankin has delivered an irresistible read with Irresistible Refrain! It’s no-holds barred about drug use/addiction and all its negative effects. But it also offers hope for second chances for love and redemption.
Enticing Interlude
Enticing Interlude is very well-written, as I’ve come to expect from Michelle Mankin. The characters are likable and I enjoyed the story. But it lacked the ‘grab you by the throat’ element that Irresistible Refrain had. I felt like we missed out on something in this whirlwind courtship – it all moved a little too fast for me. I loved the story though. Seeing Justin grow up and seeing Bridget finally gain a bit of confidence and let the past go, was emotional and heartwarming.
Captivating Bridge
War’s story was an incredible one. He and Shaina came so far. I look forward to seeing them again as Tempest’s story continues. I’m not sure whose story is next but I’m kinda hoping it’s Dizzy’s. One of the things I admire in Mankin’s writing is her bringing awareness to social issues and mental health issues. Captivating Bridge addresses depression and suicide prevention in a touching way.
Tempting Tempo
In Tempting Tempo, it’s Sager’s turn. Sager, serious Sager…who’s so into Melinda aka Blue that he jumps at the second chance he’s given with her. These two get first got cozy in Relentless Rhythm, the previous installment. But betrayal, misunderstandings, and hurt feelings put distance between them. With Tempest reconvening in Vancouver and Sager and Blue bumping into one another, the connection as well as the sparks rekindle. As per usual in a Tempest novel, Mankin takes on a social issue. This time she targets anorexia. Full of emotion, a gripping story, smexy scenes that may fog up your reading glasses, and characters that are engaging and genuine, Tempting Tempo is another gem in the Tempest series.
Fantastic Rock Romance!!
Michelle Mankin has become my go-to author for rock romance because she knows how deliver everything I love in this genre with the sexy bad boy rockers and stories that highlight each band member.
You are lucky to get this box set without having to wait for the next book to come out because believe me you will want to devour this series.
I loved this box set! This is the first four books of Tempest Rock Star series, there are 6 books total in the series (one for each band member). These are full length and their stories take time to unfold. Not insta-love, but real relationships. The band is a family and are all from the same neighborhood where each member has their own struggles. Lots of background given to the characters, not all of it easy to read. Their roads to HEA are not easy, they are long and took time but draw you in and capture your heart. I didn’t have the money to buy the next two books in the series, but I bought them anyway because I had to read the rest of this family’s stories!! I highly recommend!
