The United States is on the brink of total collapse. Fifty-five men came to Philadelphia May of 1787 with a congressional … congressional charter to revise the Articles of Confederation. Instead they founded the longest lasting republic in world history.
Tempest at Dawn tells their story.

Wonderful historical novel gave me some understanding about the type of process used to write such an important document.
A wonderful, inside view of the shaping of our republic. I thought i knew a lot about the founding of our nation, but this book opened my eyes to the squabbles, concerns, and back-room bickering. I never before fully appreciated the work, the intelligence, and the bickering involved in creating what so many of us take for granted. i never will …
Not exactly a page turner, but it was very interesting to see what our founding fathers had to go through to put together such a great document.
This is a fantastic read! The author has brought to life the characters of those who wrote our Constitution. Very interesting, politics is always and ever shall be dirty dealing, hopefully for the good of all, which seemed to be what the main characters and founding fathers really wanted.
If you want to know how the constitution was written read this book
I found it very interesting to read about that level of communication that needed to happen between the states to write our Constitution.
This story showed how much pressure there was for the convention delegates to negotiate. The outcome was not the brilliance of the Founding Fathers but what humans have to do to get something done. As Franklin said, I ma live to regret this document but it was the best we could do under the circumstances.
A great peek into what happened when the Constitution was written. Subject matter is timely and book was well written and easy to follow, even with many players.
A very interesting historical premise delivered in a manner and with characters that are likable and educational.
Even though this is a work of fiction, I feel it fills a gap in most peoples knowledge of American history .
Great book about the creation of the U.S. Constitution. Well worth reading. Entertaining and not dry at all.
Couldn’t put it down.
This book gave me greater insight into the difficulty of creating our constitution and hoe many of those early and difficult decisions have played out in history and are effecting us today.
