For Dr. David Beck, the loss was shattering. And every day for the past eight years, he has relived the horror of what happened. The gleaming lake. The pale moonlight. The piercing screams. The night his wife was taken. The last night he saw her alive. Everyone tells him it’s time to move on, to forget the past once and for all. But for David Beck, there can be no closure. A message has … message has appeared on his computer, a phrase only he and his dead wife know. Suddenly Beck is taunted with the impossible—that somewhere, somehow, Elizabeth is alive.
Beck has been warned to tell no one. And he doesn’t. Instead, he runs from the people he trusts the most, plunging headlong into a search for the shadowy figure whose messages hold out a desperate hope.
But already Beck is being hunted down. He’s headed straight into the heart of a dark and deadly secret—and someone intends to stop him before he gets there.

Great Corbin novel.
Another great story and cast of characters from a master.
I loved this book. I found myself yelling TELL SOMEONE! The ending was a shock but fit with the flow of the story.
Love his standalone books. Never disappoint.
Holds your interest through the whole book
I always enjoy his books. Great character development & engaging stories
A great book from one of my favorite writers
This is a great book by one of my favorite authors. Coben keeps you guessing til the last page.
Great read, couldn’t put it down. I like the way he fleshes out his characters, you feel like they are people you could know. He also always maintains the suspense to the end…….also love the Myron Bolitar series………
The writing is phenomenal. The books get better and better.
First off can’t stand the name David. And our hero was so blind spoiler alert: he kills them all when they come for him
Incredible writing! I was so surprise at the end of the story! Great entertaining book.
Love Harlan Coben.

This was the first Harlen Coben book that I have ever read, and I enjoyed it thoroughly.
Great read

Solid Coben. Does not disappoint!
Love Harlan Coban books!

And the end, the uncovering of an insanity that costs more than can be paid – it hurts so bad.
