Amber Scott should be enjoying life as a college freshman. She should be pursuing her dream of becoming a veterinarian. She should be working hard to make sense of her precalculus math class.
She shouldn’t be waking up her college roommate with screaming nightmares. She shouldn’t be flashing back, reliving the three weeks of hell she barely survived last year. And she definitely shouldn’t be … shouldn’t be spending time with sexy player Marcus Reid.
But engineering student Marcus is the only one keeping Amber from failing her math course, so she grudgingly lets him into her life. She never expects the king of hookups will share his painful past. Or that she’ll tell him her secrets in return, opening up and trusting him in a way she thought she’d never be able to again.
When their fragile future together is threatened by a stalker Amber thought was locked away for good, Marcus is determined to protect her— and Amber is determined to protect Marcus… even if that means pushing him away.
This is a new adult romance with mature content for readers 17 and up.

This is book one in The Lost in you duet and it is Amber and Marcus story and omg it is definitely a must read. Amber has been through the most horrific experience and she has the scars to go with it and there is never any escape from the nightmare. Marcus has gone through his own type of pain and part of his release from it is one night stands and exercising but when he sees Amber he can see pain in her eyes because he feels the same. When Amber starts struggling with her maths it is Marcus that offers to tutor her and this is how they send up spending more time together. The more Amber and Marcus spend time together there feelings for each other grows but the last will not leave them alone causing many problems between them. This book takes you on a roller coaster ride of emotions and I found myself crying so many times with what had happened and I can’t wait to read the next book to see what the outcome will be for Amber and Marcus. This is the first book that I have read by Stina Lindenblatt but definitely not the last as the characters and storyline pulled you in right from the first page and kept your attention right until the last page and it was so well written and totally addictive and I can’t wait to read the next book.

There is so much going on in this one here, so much to deal with, so much to process and I like the fact that this author touched on a lot of traumatic events like stress, rape, torture, child abuse and so many more disorders. Amber a freshman in college has been through so much and has dealt with her share of hurt, abuse living with the nightmares see she is a victim of a stalker who abused her, a witness to a murder and dealing with PTSD from it all and just to feel she cuts herself so basically life in college isn’t working with all her issues until she meets the one guy that is willing to help. Marcus sexy as all get out scholarship student from a rough neighborhood fighting his way out, he is lonely, love women being with them but nothing of substance just with them to be with someone and his life experiences weren’t any better than Amber’s a little different but still just as painful. Math brings the two of them together she needing help from the engineering student, and it is like they are meeting their other half and the more time they spend with each other getting to know one another learning about each other and seeing just how alike their past are but is it enough for them to heal, can they make it together, and is there happiness for two of them?

Well, I can’t say that I’m surprised that I really liked this one or that I connected with the characters immediately because that’s what I’ve found happens with most of Stina Lindenblatt’s books. Tell Me When is about the college-age crowd, something that I use extreme caution with before diving into. But, since this one was written by Lindenblatt I figured it was worth picking up. I’m not sorry that I did!
Both Marcus and Amber have scars, deep scars, from their past. Some of those scars are recent, some are from youth, and some are ongoing. No matter what, though, those scars deeply affect their lives and relationships. They both need to come to terms with their pasts and they can definitely help one another to do that. Their story is tragic. It is also filled with hope and promise. This is a book that will pull you in immediately and keep you reading in order to uncover deep-held secrets and hurts. Some of it is depressing but hope is never lost. Well done, Ms. Lindenblatt!
This is a fantastic book and I can’t recommend it enough! Amber and Marcus have hard past that they both tried to overcome… Stina does a fantastic job of building the characters, their relationships and slowly teasingly revealing their past! I Loved reading their story!
