The sexual tension is palpable; the erotic path they’re on is inevitable.
Haylee Holloway has experienced more grief than a twenty-two year old should have to endure. When she moves to LA for a fresh start and takes a job as an assistant for an advertising company the last thing she expects is to have to step in last minute during a photo shoot as the model. Her bikini line and weight are … weight are suddenly open topics of discussion, and a client’s million dollar campaign is hanging in the balance. To cap it off, the multi-millionaire, gorgeous owner of the company shows up and takes charge.
Josh Singer, the owner of Gamble Advertising is private, intense, and hard to read. His voice is sexy, his eyes are smoldering and when he learns of Haylee’s goal to save money for law school, he makes her an offer she can’t refuse:
To move to New York City and work for him directly as his assistant.
Haylee’s dilemma: how does she travel the world with a hot boss whose voice alone conjures up an erotic fantasy and not completely make a fool of herself? Frustrated with Josh’s mixed signals, Haylee finally puts it all on the line. Blurring both their professional and personal lives can they keep things temporary as planned or will they both realize some things weren’t meant to end?
Full Length Standalone book with no cliffhanger. First book of the “Something Series”
Recommended for mature readers due to situations of language, and sexual content.

WHOA!! TELL ME SOMETHING by Aubrey Bondurant took me by Surprise with its delightful entertainments of events and Bonus…she is a New Author for me!!
I was Definitely intrigued from the Very Beginning of the Book and never a Dull moment page after page! It had my laughing out loud and then Crying the next plus at times I wanted to Throw my Tablet across the room!
Haylee and Josh’s storytelling was Beautifully Written and was such a Rollercoaster ride of Emotional distress & Heartwreching Aches that will Leave you Speechless!
Definitely Must Read Book and CANNOT WAIT TO read more from this Author!!
This was so much better than I expected it to be , not that I expected it to be bad but I found myself getting so into the story that I cried, and then got mad at Josh (for something I kind of saw coming). And if I am being honest I did get a little peeved at Haylee too. I thought the development of their relationship was really fun to read about. Its crazy how emotional you can get over fictional characters. My only problem now is that my head is so into the story still that I cant figure out what I am going to read next. Definitely looking forward to reading Brian and Sasha’s story. I really liked both of their characters. 🙂
…. I just read this for the second time….and even knowing the outcome, cried a few more times!!! I absolute love Aubrey’s writing and I plan to go read “Ask Me Something” for the second time before reading “Bet Me Something”
Tell Me Something by Aubrey Bondurant is the first book in the three book “Something” series and boy does it deliver. This is a full length standalone and has no cliffhanger.
Haylee Holloway is grieving. She has suffered losses that most twenty two year olds ever have to suffer. She moves to LA to for a change of scenery and takes a job as an administrative assistant for an advertising company. Little does she know that this will change her life. Due to an issue with a prima donna model, she ends up having to fill in for the model and what follows is hilarious and eye opening.
Josh Singer is the owner of Gamble Advertising, has a voice that completely melts Haylee and he sees something in Haylee that prompts him to offer her a job as his assistant. Haylee knows it might not be the smartest idea because she is attracted to him but it is an offer she just can’t refuse as it will allow her to fulfill her dream of going to law school. Josh is damaged by a previous relationship and runs hot and cold frustrating Haylee.
Will Haylee be able to break through Josh’s tough exterior and will Josh be able to prove to Haylee that a future between the two of them is possible? Watch as these two learn so much about each other using a little “Tell Me Something” game. Tell me something REAL. Watch how Josh finally comes to the realization of his truths and how his friends and family band together to make him finally realize that there is life after a horrible relationship. Watching Haylee finally realize that not everyone leaves and that she has so many people in her life who truly care about her is breathtaking.
I completely fell in love with Josh and Haylee as well as many of the other characters in the book. I look forward to reading the rest of the series to find out how other players including Josh’s brother and his best friend Brian.
Haylee Holloway is doing her best to pursue her dream of becoming a lawyer, That being said being an assistant to a boss who belittles her at every turn is her path toward that career, saving money for law school is the mission. When she meets Josh Singer, owner of Gamble Advertising she is surprised he is on the set for the commercial they are shooting, but when the model doesn’t show up she is told she is the stand in. Haylee is mortified but wants to keep her job so she does it, what she doesn’t expect is to be offered a job in NYC being the assistant to Josh.
Josh is extremely private but he feels a pull to Haylee, he knows she should be employee only but she brings out feelings in him that he thought were long gone. Josh decides what they have will be temporary but will he be willing to give her up when the time comes?
This had an angle to the story that I was really surprised about and found it refreshing. Josh is entrancing, you are pulled in right away with his character. Haylee is fascinating, she is extremely bright and motivated and I think she was a perfect choice for Josh. Exceptional.
Haylee and Josh meet when she takes a job as an assistant to one of his company VP’s. Her job as an administrative assistant turns into an unexpected modeling job in an emergency. Josh offers her a job as his temporary assistant while she makes money for law school. Will their instant chemistry turn this job into a real relationship or will their trust issues keep them temporary?
The more of Aubrey’s work I read the more I love her writing style. I love the characters and know that the rest of this series will be amazing too. Tell Me Something gave me some laughs and a few tears. Aubrey knows how to give you all the feels. Time to read book 2.
My first book by Audrey Bonurant, I was completely addicted and could not put this book down.
“I think you may be the yang to my yin,” Josh said on a whisper.
This was so much more than an office romance.
Haylee begins her day in her recently new job as an assistant for an advertising agency but when the model fails to turn up and they are left without a model, the owner of the company requests Haylee stand in, he then snaps her up to be his own assistant while his own assistant is on leave.
The chemistry between Haylee and Josh was hot!!
Both of these characters have backstories that have given them issues, trust issues, abandonment issues and as their relationship progresses from casual and starts to become more intense there is also a push and pull that will have you frustrated with the characters, especially Josh who wants to keep his relationship with Haylee private and still goes on dates with other women to keep up his image.
I loved the roller-coaster of it all, I was completely held captive by this story, I even had a goofy smile on my face at times, I loved it and cannot wait to read more books by this author who balanced the plot out brilliantly, making this an addictive read from start to finish.
Overall I liked Tell Me Something. The storyline drew me in quickly and I liked the idea of an office romance. I liked how the author incorporated real life important issues as part of the story, but would have liked for the author to have gone deeper into the issues to get a better sense of what the characters were going through. I think I would have connected with them on a deeper level. I had conflicting feelings on Haylee and Josh. I immediately liked Haylee, but then there were times I wanted to scream at her for choices she made or how she let Josh treat her and talk to her. One minute she was a strong, independent woman and then the next she wasnt. It took me some time to start liking Josh. I’m all about the brooding type but he was over the top for me at the start. He did soften a bit, but it took a long time to get there. I would have loved for the author to have gone deeper into his past and issues, but they were touched on. There were plenty of hot, steamy and sweet moments. I would have loved another epilogue, but hope we get more of them in book 2 which I definitely plan to read!!
Well what a way to break me in to this author. I had heard the name but never read her and someone told me that I had to fix that quick and lord am I happy I did. Haylee and Josh were both so sure of what they wanted…until it wasn’t enough anymore. Their back and forth, push and pull had me hooked and fully invested in the outcome of their story.
I loved the pace of the story and since the storyline was long, the author did a great job of not letting me lose interest. The progression of their feelings was realistic and that made it much easier to fall for their HEA. I can not wait to read more from this author and I highly recommended this book to anyone that loves a great book with an awesome angst filled HEA!!
This is a book that I wanted to like more than I did. After finishing this book I find that I am left with complicated feelings about it. Maybe part of this is caused by the fact that what I was expecting and what I got were two different things. By looking at the cover and reading the blurb I went in expecting a fun, light, cute and steamy book. What I got was a steamy, somewhat angsty and much heavier read. Next, I have to say I was not a fan of either of the main characters. These two both had huge amounts of emotional baggage which did make me feel for them but I just couldn’t like them. In my opinion it was just too hard to root for a “couple” that was so devoted in their persistence that they wanted no long term commitment or emotional ties. It was a struggle to get through the book until maybe the last 20 percent, when I feel we really got to the story and relationship I would have been very excited to read because that part of the book brought out all the emotions and an actual emotional connection between these two. The book was well written though and if you are not turned off by Haylee and Josh’s behavior and attitudes it is not a horrible read. I honestly found I was more drawn to and intrigued by many of the secondary characters that make appearances in this book than the main characters. This is my honest, freely posted review.
Tell Me Something is my first book by Aubrey Bondurant but certainly won’t be my last! I loved it! I loved Josh and Haylee and devoured this book in one sitting. I can’t wait to dive into the rest of her books!
This was the first book by Aubrey that i have read, and let me tell you, she has a loyal fan for life! This book was amazing! Sometimes the office Romance trope can be over done, but this book was an excellent rendition of it! It was fresh and new, and extremely well written. I fell in love with the main characters Haylee and Josh from the very beginning. You could tell from their first encounter that they were not going to be able to sneak around with their relationship very long. The chemistry was too palpable! Aubrey takes you on an amazing journey with these characters that leads to a sweet happy ending. Excellent read! I cant wait to read more of her books.
Another fun read by Aubrey Bonduant. I found this to be fast reading and very entertaining with just the right about of sexy romance. I love the characters and how they interact. Can’t wait to read Book 2 in the series.
One click this steamy, wonderfully written office romance standalone while it’s FREE! Highly recommend!
For a debut novel, this was really good! I had actually read book #3 first (which was FANTASTIC, by the way), so I got to meet Josh in that one. I was very intrigued, so I couldn’t wait to read his story.
Great main characters! Yes, Josh could be a bit of an ass at times, but he’s been burned in the past, so of course his guard is up. Beautiful & intelligent Haylee is the perfect heroine for him. She’s full of sass, humor and pure sexiness.
The secondary characters are equally awesome. I can’t wait to read more about them in the other books in this series! I’m calling dibs on Mark now, ladies! #sorrynotsorry
I am a fan of this author’s writing style and will happily read more of her books.
p.s. I love how the title of this book is used throughout the story! It’s a crucial part of how the main characters get to know more about each other. Very sweet!
This is a contemporary, office romance (boss/assistant) read.
Josh Singer at the ripe age of 32 is a billionaire and the owner of Gamble Enterprise and a total alpha male! Haylee Holloway is 22 and is working at an advertising agency to save up for law school.
I found this to be an emotional read as both of these characters were dealing with trust issues, grief, a miscarriage and depression – each in their own way. I loved that as the story progressed; Josh & Haylee helped each other and grew closer, rather than them drifting apart.
You can feel the heat between these two from the get-go. They are trying their best to keep their relationship a secret, but their friends know that something is up. There are some awesome, steamy hot sex scenes, but after the tenth sex scene I thought some were getting repetitive, so I found myself skipping/skimming the rest of them.
If there was a book I would like to have read in dual POV – it would be this one! I would so love to know what was going through Josh’s mind at certain parts of the book!
Tell Me Something (Something Series Book 1), Aubrey Bondurant’s debut novel, is a contemporary, erotic, office romance. It follows the relationship between Haylee, a 22-year-old trying to save money for law school, and Josh, her 32-year-old millionaire boss.
The book was well written and I really liked the author’s tone. The plot was good, but the sex scenes overshadowed a lot of it. The story would have been better with fewer sex scenes and more plot/character development. Overall, it was a good first effort and series starter.
